This study aimed to analyze the implementation of policies prohibiting illegal fishing practices involving the use of explosives, poisons, and electric shock devices in Sanga-Sanga District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Although regulations and extension activities related to the prohibition have been established, illegal fishing practices continue to occur as of 2025. The findings reveal that some fishermen still use poison and electric shock due to economic reasons and the perception that these methods yield greater catches. However, such actions cause losses to other fishermen by reducing the quality of the catch and damaging the aquatic ecosystem. The community is aware of these violations but is reluctant to report them due to fear of threats from the perpetrators. Efforts by fisheries extension officers to establish community-based surveillance groups (Pokmaswas) have not been optimal due to low public participation. Collaboration between provincial fisheries supervisors and the local marine police (Polairud) has resulted in joint patrols that successfully apprehended two perpetrators of illegal fishing, yet law enforcement has not produced a deterrent effect. Moreover, the program to replace destructive fishing gear with environmentally friendly alternatives for fishermen willing to transition has not been realized due to budget constraints. Based on these findings, it is necessary to strengthen integrated surveillance, provide legal protection for whistleblowers, accelerate the implementation of sustainable fishing gear programs, and enhance public awareness of legal and ecological issues.

This study investigates how Lembaga Musik Pervagatus, a group that does not display Islamic identity, creates an Islamic musical image when performing at religious events in Islamic campuses.  This study investigates how visual elements, song selection, and stage interaction influence audience perception. It does so using qualitative methods through interviews and performance observations.  How the band's performative identity is influenced by attributes such as appearance, personality, cultural values, and audience relations is studied using Kapferer's Brand Identity Prism model.  Conversely, Stuart Hall's theory of representation helps explain how Islamic meaning emerges in the context of events. The results show that the image of Islamic music attached to Pervagatus does not originate from the band's original identity; rather, it is a construction of meaning influenced by the context of religious events and the audience's interpretation of the song ‘Maulana Ya Maulana’ that they performed.  This perception was further reinforced by their neat, polite, and enthusiastic appearance.  The results show that the relationship between performance, context, and audience interpretation shapes the image of Islamic music on campus.

This study examines students’ perceptions of the use of online platforms for English listening practice. The research employs a mixed-methods approach involving 150 undergraduate students through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that the majority of students hold positive attitudes toward the use of online platforms, primarily due to time flexibility, diverse content, and the ability to learn independently. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including internet connectivity issues that disrupt the learning experience, a lack of personalized feedback, and difficulties in maintaining learning motivation. Features such as adjustable playback speed, the availability of transcripts, and interactive exercises received high levels of satisfaction. Overall, the study concludes that although online platforms have great potential to enhance English listening skills, their effectiveness largely depends on proper implementation, adequate technical infrastructure, and active support from educators. Therefore, this study recommends improvements in technical aspects and the development of more effective learning methods to achieve more optimal outcomes.

This community engagement program was initiated in response to the predominance of academically oriented perceptions among parents regarding children’s intelligence, which tend to limit the recognition of children’s potential to cognitive achievement alone. The program aimed to enhance parents’ literacy and awareness of the Multiple Intelligences framework as a foundational basis for holistic child education in an Islamic elementary school context. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was employed, encompassing participatory planning, conceptual socialization sessions, child potential mapping workshops, collective reflection, and continuous evaluation. The findings highlight substantive outcomes. Parents experienced a significant paradigm shift in understanding the diversity of children’s intelligences, moving from a single-dimensional academic perspective toward a more comprehensive and appreciative view of individual potential. Parenting practices became more supportive, dialogical, and less comparative. In addition, a parents’ communication forum emerged as a new social institution within the school community, accompanied by the rise of local leadership that contributes to program sustainability. These results demonstrate that educational mentoring grounded in the Multiple Intelligences framework effectively promotes social transformation in Islamic elementary education through strengthened collaboration between school and family.

The development of digital information technology has fundamentally transformed the ways university students access and interpret religious information. Social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube have become primary spaces where students encounter diverse forms of religious content, ranging from educational dakwah to provocative narratives that may trigger tension and conflict. This phenomenon creates both opportunities and challenges for shaping religious moderation, particularly among first-semester students who are in the formative stage of constructing their intellectual and religious identities. This study aims to explore in depth the dynamics of religious moderation among first-semester students at IAINU Tuban within the context of digital polarization. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through thematic processes of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students exhibit high social media engagement and are frequently exposed to short dakwah content circulated through algorithmic mechanisms. However, they also confront digital polarization characterized by emotional disputes, informational bias, and negative perceptions of other religious groups. While students demonstrate an initial understanding of religious moderation—such as wisdom, tolerance, and resistance to provocation—they have not fully developed adequate religious digital literacy to critically evaluate extreme content. This research concludes that social media simultaneously serves as a medium for dakwah and a site of polarization, highlighting the need for systematic reinforcement of digital literacy and religious moderation within Islamic higher education.

This study seeks to investigate a consumer behavior model by evaluating the impact of interactive technology-driven digital innovation and perceived value on digital engagement, with customer behavior serving as a mediating variable within the retail sector in Jambi Province. A quantitative research design utilized a survey method with 150 retail consumers as participants. We used Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to look at both the measurement and structural models. The findings of the measurement model show that all indicators match the requirements for convergent validity. The outer loading values are all over 0.70, which means that the construct is reliable and valid. The evaluation of the structural model indicates that perceived value exerts a positive and significant influence on both consumer behavior and digital engagement. Also, how people act as consumers has a big effect on how they contact with and participate in digital media. This means that people who think retail services are more valuable are more likely to interact with and participate in digital media. Nevertheless, interactive technology-driven digital innovation does not exhibit a substantial direct impact on customer behavior or digital engagement. These findings suggest that value perception is more influential than technology innovation in determining consumer responses inside digital retail environments. This research enhances the body of knowledge regarding consumer behavior and digital marketing by highlighting the strategic significance of perceived value in augmenting consumer involvement within digital retail contexts.

Halal tourism has continued to grow as a highly attractive segment for Muslim travelers, particularly in the provision of Sharia-compliant accommodation such as Islamic hotels. This study aims to examine consumer perceptions of halal food-and-beverage facilities and Sharia-based operational standards in Islamic hotels across the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 150 respondents who had stayed in Sharia hotels. Data were collected through closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using the Weighted Mean Score (WMS) technique to evaluate respondents’ assessments of each indicator. The results indicate that consumer perception of halal food-and-beverage facilities falls into the very high category, with average scores exceeding 4.838. Consumers acknowledged that Sharia hotels maintain halal assurance, hygiene, and food safety through proper processing and the availability of halal certification. Regarding operational aspects, consumer perception is also classified as very good, with an average score of 4.606, particularly for policies prohibiting unmarried couples from sharing a room and banning entertainment deemed inappropriate or immoral. However, the use of Sharia-compliant financial institutions still requires improvement. Overall, the findings affirm that Sharia hotels in Jabodetabek have successfully implemented most Sharia principles, although further enhancement of internal operational practices is needed to achieve more comprehensive Sharia compliance.

The Islamic insurance industry in Indonesia, including in the city of Medan, continues to face various challenges, one of which is the low level of public participation in using Islamic insurance products. Public decisions to choose Islamic insurance are influenced not only by economic factors but also by non-economic factors, such as the level of religiosity, Islamic financial literacy, and trust in insurance service providers. This study aims to examine in depth the role of religiosity, financial literacy, and trust in influencing public decisions regarding the use of Islamic insurance in Medan City. This research employs a qualitative approach by utilizing secondary data obtained from reports of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), as well as relevant national and international scholarly articles. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to obtain a comprehensive understanding of public behavior, perceptions, and preferences. The findings indicate that religiosity plays a role in increasing awareness of the importance of financial products that comply with sharia principles, financial literacy strengthens public understanding of the benefits and mechanisms of Islamic insurance, while trust emerges as the key factor most decisively influencing decision-making. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for formulating strategies to enhance public literacy and trust in Islamic insurance in Medan City.

This study aims to analyze consumer perceptions of consumer reviews on the Shopee e-commerce platform and to understand how these reviews influence trust and purchasing decisions. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, using in-depth interviews with one informant an active Shopee user and supported by digital observations of the fake review phenomenon. The findings indicate that reviews play a crucial role in shaping consumers’ perceptions and trust toward sellers. The informant perceived honest reviews as those characterized by detailed content, genuine product photos, and a natural writing style. In contrast, reviews that appear overly uniform, exaggerated, or too brief are considered inauthentic and raise doubts. Negative experiences resulting from fake reviews reduce trust in both sellers and the platform. This study highlights the need to improve review verification systems and enhance digital literacy education so that consumers can better distinguish between genuine and fake reviews, thereby fostering a more transparent and trustworthy online shopping environment.

Traditional arts in Indonesia face a growing threat not from physical displacement, but from algorithmic distortion. This study examines how social media algorithms shape and distort public perception of Indonesian traditional arts — specifically jaranan and barongan — through the lens of Van Dijck's (2013) popularity principle: the principle that content distribution is determined by interaction volume rather than cultural value. Employing qualitative thematic content analysis, this study analyzes comments on five viral social media videos sourced from YouTube and TikTok, each depicting riots or tension at traditional art performances. Findings demonstrate that the popularity principle operates consistently and cumulatively across all five samples: algorithmically provocative titles, emotional polarization in comment sections, and micro-behavioral signals such as watch duration and replay collectively function as interaction signals that drive the platform to distribute riot content far more widely than culturally substantive footage. The consequences extend beyond perception: event organizers suffer long-term reputational and economic damage, while collective stereotypes — associating jaranan with violence and disorder — become sufficiently entrenched to surface spontaneously in unrelated contexts. A comparative analysis of a Kangen Band concert video reveals that these stereotypes have already achieved the status of cultural reference points. This study argues that strategic resistance is possible: the same algorithmic logic that amplifies negative content can be deployed to circulate culturally rich content, provided that artists, communities, and government commit to producing content designed to generate high-quality interaction. The challenge is to transform social media from a distorting mirror into an instrument of cultural preservation.

Dysmenorrhea, which is common in adolescent girls, is a painful menstrual cycle that frequently interferes with daily activities, both in the classroom and in social situations. Dysmenorrhea is a common condition that needs particular care as a reproductive health concern, notably among young people. Both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches can be used to treat dysmenorrhea. The use of warm water compresses is a simple, inexpensive, and effective non-pharmacological approach. By increasing blood vessel dilatation, enhancing blood circulation, lowering muscular tension, and lowering pain perceptions, warm water compresses aid in alleviating dysmenorrhea symptoms. The objective of this study is to assess the impact of warm compresses on the severity of dysmenorrhea pain scales in teenage girls at the Buntalo Community Health Center. The design of this trial was pre-experimental, using a one-group pretest-posttest technique. Using a purposive sampling method, a sample of 20 respondents was chosen. The Wilcoxon test was used to conduct the data analysis. According to the data, there was a statistically significant reduction in pain intensity, with a Z value of -4.065 and a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The average pain scale decreased from 2.95 to 1.80. Based on these findings, it is reasonable to conclude that warm water compresses are helpful in alleviating dysmenorrhea pain in young women. One of the suggestions for non-pharmacological treatments to help alleviate dysmenorrhea symptoms in adolescents is anticipated to be the outcome of this research.

This study is intended to identify the impact of Online Customer Reviews and Product Quality Perceptions on Skintific Purchase Decisions on TikTok Shop. This study applies a quantitative approach through causal methods. Involving 96 respondents who have purchased and used Skintific products on the platform. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), and used multiple linear regression to test the research hypothesis. The findings show that online customer reviews and product quality perceptions have a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, both when tested individually and together. The adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) reaches 0.875, which means that 87.5% of the variation in purchase decisions can be explained by the two independent variables, while the remaining 12.5% is influenced by external elements outside of this model. Among the two variables studied, Online Customer Reviews were proven to have a dominant influence on Purchase Decisions, with a higher Beta value than Product Quality Perception. This conclusion emphasizes that positive reviews from customers and a good view of product quality are the main drivers for consumers to purchase Skintific products on TikTok Shop. Thus, companies are advised to maintain product reputation through consistent quality as well as optimize digital communication strategies based on customer reviews to improve consumer purchasing decisions.

BPJS Health has incurred losses exceeding 200 billion rupiah over a two-year period due to the payment of contributions that were discontinued by participants who had utilized maternity services. Data show that 64.7% of mothers registered as BPJS Health participants only one month prior to childbirth, after which 43% either withdrew their membership or failed to continue paying contributions following delivery. The highest proportion of this behavior was observed among independent participants or non-wage recipients (PBPU). In Jambi Province, the highest level of contribution non-compliance occurs in Jambi City. In 2023, there were 77,489 participants with contribution arrears, resulting in financial losses amounting to 60.1 billion rupiah. Contribution non-compliance is influenced by various factors. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to non-compliance among independent participants in paying BPJS Health contributions after utilizing childbirth services in Jambi City. The findings revealed that 33.3% of independent participants were non-compliant in paying BPJS Health contributions after using maternity services. Significant associations were found between contribution non-compliance and the number of family members (p = 0.001), level of knowledge (p = 0.000), illness perception (p = 0.001), clinical assessment (p = 0.000), and willingness to pay (WTP). Based on these findings, it is recommended that BPJS Health consider implementing a waiting period policy for participants intending to utilize maternity services. In addition, the Jambi City Government should strengthen promotive efforts to educate the public and raise awareness of the importance of health insurance in safeguarding household financial security.
