Breast milk (ASI) is the best source of nutrition for newborns because it contains complete, safe, and stable nutrients, thus supporting optimal growth and development of infants. However, some breastfeeding mothers still do not fully understand the sufficiency of breast milk and its benefits for babies. Therefore, health education efforts are needed to improve the knowledge and understanding of breastfeeding mothers regarding breastfeeding. Health education is an educational activity aimed at inviting and encouraging the community to be willing to take actions that can maintain and improve health. This health education activity on the sufficiency of breast milk for breastfeeding mothers was held on January 24, 2026, at the Sungai Durian Community Health Center (UPTD). The method used in this activity was the delivery of material through health counseling accompanied by a measurement of the level of knowledge using pretest and posttest questionnaires. After the presentation of the material, breastfeeding mothers were asked to complete a posttest questionnaire to assess their understanding of the material that had been provided. The measurement results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, indicating an increase in knowledge of breastfeeding mothers after being provided with health education. Thus, it can be concluded that health education activities about breast milk sufficiency are effective in increasing the understanding of breastfeeding mothers regarding the importance of providing sufficient breast milk for babies.

Smoking behavior among adolescents remains a major public health issue due to its high prevalence and potential long-term effects on physical, psychological, and social health. One key factor influencing adolescent behavior is the family environment. A family approach that incorporates effective communication, parental supervision, role modeling, emotional support, and consistent enforcement of rules is believed to significantly impact the prevention and reduction of smoking behavior in adolescents. This study aims to analyze the effect of a family approach on smoking behavior in adolescents. Adolescents who experience open communication, good supervision, and emotional support from their families tend to exhibit stronger self-control and are more likely to resist peer pressure to smoke. The findings suggest that an optimal family approach is crucial in shaping healthy behavior in adolescents and serves as an effective strategy in smoking prevention efforts. This approach not only helps in reducing smoking behavior but also fosters overall well-being by creating a supportive family environment. In conclusion, family involvement plays an essential role in promoting healthier behaviors in adolescents and preventing smoking, contributing significantly to public health improvement

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is transmitted through the air, specifically through droplets expelled by sufferers when coughing or sneezing. TB is divided into two main types: pulmonary TB, which attacks the lungs, and extrapulmonary TB, which can affect other organs such as the pleura, lymph nodes, skin, bones, and meninges. In the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) work area, 77 new cases of pulmonary TB were recorded from January to April 2025. Meanwhile, coverage of Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT) only reached 44.7%, still below the national target of at least 50%. This condition indicates the need for increased health promotion activities and community diagnostic approaches as promotive and preventive measures, in order to increase TPT coverage and reduce the incidence of TB. The results of the respondent questionnaire showed that the level of public knowledge about TB reached 64.6%, positive attitudes at 94%, and preventive behavior at 72%. Based on these findings, it is recommended that outreach activities be conducted regularly to improve public understanding, which can ultimately encourage behavioral changes and reduce TB cases.

Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. This disease is largely preventable through early detection efforts; however, low levels of knowledge and awareness among women of reproductive age often hinder them from undergoing routine screening. Limited information leads to most new cases being diagnosed at advanced stages, thereby lowering treatment success rates and increasing the public health burden. This study aimed to analyze the differences in knowledge among mothers at Yayasan Harapan Anak Indonesia, North Jakarta, regarding early detection of cervical cancer before and after receiving health education using leaflets. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 40 reproductive-age women selected using total sampling. A structured questionnaire was used as the research instrument, covering questions about the definition, risk factors, symptoms, and early detection methods of cervical cancer. The intervention was carried out through a lecture accompanied by leaflet distribution, which provided concise, clear, attractive, and easy-to-understand information. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests to evaluate differences in mean scores before and after the intervention. The results showed an increase in the mean knowledge score from 57.69 in the pretest to 88.08 in the posttest. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference (p<0.05) between pre- and post-intervention. The study concludes that health education using leaflets is effective in improving mothers’ knowledge about cervical cancer early detection. Health workers are recommended to expand educational coverage using simple printed media as a sustainable strategy for prevention, to enhance community awareness more broadly, and ultimately to reduce cervical cancer incidence.

Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is a health problem that still occurs frequently, especially in areas with limited access to health information and knowledge. One effort that can be made to overcome this problem is by providing health education to the community. Health education conducted using interesting and easy-to-understand media, such as audio-visual media, has been proven to be able to increase public understanding more effectively. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of audio-visual media in health education on increasing the knowledge of the Batu Merah B Hamlet community regarding ARI. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, in which 50 people were selected purposively as the research sample. Data were collected using questionnaires before and after the health education intervention using audio-visual media. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test to examine differences in knowledge before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge after the health education intervention (p < 0.05). The average score of community knowledge increased from 60.2 in the pretest to 83.5 in the posttest. This improvement demonstrates the effectiveness of audiovisual media in conveying information related to acute respiratory infections (ARI) and facilitates public understanding and retention. Therefore, it is recommended that health education using audiovisual media be used more widely in health promotion activities to achieve better results and accelerate changes in public health behavior. Health education using audiovisual media also provides a more interactive and engaging learning experience, thereby increasing community engagement in the learning process.

Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei infestation, and generally affects children and adolescents, especially those living in crowded and unhygienic environments such as orphanages. This disease is highly contagious through direct contact and the sharing of personal items, such as towels, clothing, and bedding. Therefore, ongoing promotional and preventive efforts are crucial to prevent the spread of scabies in vulnerable communities. This community service activity was carried out at the Harapan Kita Orphanage within the Ariodillah Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area. The main objective of the activity was to increase children's knowledge, awareness, and skills in preventing scabies transmission. The activity methods used included two-way discussion-based health education, providing real-life examples of personal hygiene, and distributing educational leaflets that are easy for children to understand. The education was conducted interactively by involving participants in questions and answers, handwashing simulations, and education on the importance of washing clothes and maintaining clean bedding. Post-activity observations showed that all participants did not experience active scabies symptoms, and there was an increase in participants' understanding of clean and healthy lifestyles. The children showed high enthusiasm and were able to reflect on the information presented. Overall, this activity proved effective in raising awareness of the importance of personal and environmental hygiene. This counseling model is highly relevant for regular implementation in orphanages or other institutions at high risk of spreading infectious skin diseases, as part of an education-based public health strategy. With the active involvement of the orphanage caregivers, it is hoped that this program can be sustainable and become part of the routine health education for children.

One way to prevent high-risk pregnancies is by addressing the lack of knowledge. The Pre-Experimental Design research aims to determine how high-risk pregnancy health education impacts pregnant women's knowledge about their condition, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. By providing books and videos once, this research conducted an intervention. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The total sampling method was used to collect 45 respondents. The results of the data analysis indicate that the normality test before and after the intervention showed that the data is not normally distributed with a significance of 0.00 ≤ 0.05. To test the research hypothesis, the Wilcoxon test was used, and the results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 ≤ 0.05, which indicates that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that health education on high-risk pregnancy shows that health institutions should implement and provide health education about high-risk pregnancy to patients who are already aware as well as those who are not. This will help pregnant women become more informed and reduce the number of high-risk pregnancies.
