Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is crucial for improving maternal and infant health, yet its success remains inconsistent, influenced by psychological factors such as breastfeeding self-efficacy. Mothers with high confidence are more likely to maintain exclusive breastfeeding despite physical and emotional challenges postpartum. Limited evidence exists regarding this relationship at the community level. Objective: This study analyzed the relationship between breastfeeding self-efficacy and successful exclusive breastfeeding among postpartum mothers. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted in Sliyeg Village, the working area of Puskesmas Sliyeg, Indramayu, in March 2026. The population included postpartum mothers with infants aged 0–6 months. A total of 68 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (BSES-SF) and an observation sheet for exclusive breastfeeding success. The Chi-Square test was used for analysis with a significance level of α=0.05. Results: Most respondents had high breastfeeding self-efficacy (61.8%) and successfully practiced exclusive breastfeeding (66.2%). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between breastfeeding self-efficacy and exclusive breastfeeding success (p=0.001). Conclusion: Breastfeeding self-efficacy is significantly associated with the success of exclusive breastfeeding among postpartum mothers. Enhancing lactation education, family support, and counseling is recommended to strengthen maternal confidence and promote successful exclusive breastfeeding practices.

Stunting is a phenomenon of growth impairment experienced by infants and young children under 5 years of age, particularly toddlers aged 0–59 months. Based on Global Prevalence Data, approximately 21.9% to 22% of toddlers worldwide experience stunting. Several factors that contribute to stunting include breastfeeding and complementary feeding (MP-ASI) practices. This study aims to explore the association between experiences of exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding (MP-ASI) and the incidence of stunting among children in the Kampa Community Health Center area. The method used in this study was a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted during the period of January 8–13, 2024, at the Kampa Community Health Center, involving toddlers aged 6–59 months, with a population of 1,576 toddlers. The sample consisted of 68 mothers who had stunted toddlers, measured using a height-for-age (H/A) Z-score of less than -2 standard deviations (SD). The sampling technique applied was total sampling. Data collection was carried out using a microtoise and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square method. The findings showed a significant relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting with a P value of 0.00 < 0.05, as well as a significant relationship between exclusive complementary feeding (MP-ASI) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers with a P value of 0.04 < 0.05. It is recommended that health workers organize counseling classes on lactation and conduct demonstrations on how to prepare complementary foods (MP-ASI), focusing on the use of affordable local food ingredients that are rich in animal protein. In addition, continuous training for community health cadres needs to be carried out to improve early detection through accurate anthropometric measurements, so that toddlers at risk of stunting can be promptly managed.

Exclusive breastfeeding is the provision of only breast milk without any other food or drink from birth to six months of age. The practice of exclusive breastfeeding is very important in supporting infant growth and development and reducing infant morbidity and mortality. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still not optimal, including for mothers with first-born children (first-born toddlers). This study aims to determine the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding in first-born toddlers in the work area of Dewantara Health Center, North Aceh with variables of knowledge, attitude, and support for breastfeeding. This study uses a quantitative research type with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all mothers who had their first-born children (first-born toddlers) in the work area of Dewantara Health Center, as many as 30 people. The sampling technique used total sampling so that the entire sample population was used. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed no significant relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.241), no relationship between maternal attitudes and exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.786), and no relationship between breastfeeding support and exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.850). The conclusion of this study is that knowledge, attitudes, and support for breastfeeding are not significantly related to exclusive breastfeeding in first-born toddlers. It is recommended that health workers improve breastfeeding education and support, and strengthen family support for the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

Exclusive breastfeeding (ASI) is the provision of only breast milk to infants for the first six months without additional food or drink, including water. Breast milk has important benefits in improving infant health, growth, and survival. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia, including in the Pasar Health Center in Prabumulih City, has not yet reached the national target of 80%. One factor influencing the success of exclusive breastfeeding is husband's support. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between husband's support and exclusive breastfeeding. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample size was 49 mothers with infants aged 7–12 months. The study was conducted in the Pasar Health Center in May 2025. The results showed that 28 infants (57.1%) received exclusive breastfeeding, and 30 mothers (61.2%) reported receiving support from their husbands. Statistical tests using the chi-square test showed a significant relationship between husband's support and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.000). These findings indicate that husband's support plays an important role in successful breastfeeding. This research suggests that involving husbands in breastfeeding education and support is highly recommended to increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the community.

Exclusive breastfeeding is a key strategy to improve child health and nutrition, yet its practice in Indonesia remains suboptimal. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between husbands’ knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and mothers’ motivation to breastfeed in Ie Masen Kayee Adang Village, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City. Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 50 husbands whose wives were breastfeeding infants aged 0–12 months through questionnaires distributed directly and via Google Form. The instrument’s validity and reliability were tested and met the required standards. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most husbands had a high level of knowledge (68%), and most mothers demonstrated high motivation to breastfeed (64%). The Chi-Square analysis indicated a significant relationship between husbands’ knowledge and mothers’ motivation (p = 0.039). These findings suggest that involving husbands as active partners in health promotion and breastfeeding education programs can increase maternal motivation and improve exclusive breastfeeding practices. This study highlights the importance of family-centered interventions to strengthen breastfeeding support and enhance maternal and child health outcomes.

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers caused by inadequate nutritional intake and recurrent infections, especially in the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK). One of the main factors that influence the incidence of stunting is exclusive breastfeeding and maternal nutritional knowledge. Indonesia still faces a high prevalence of stunting, which if not addressed immediately can impact the quality of human resources in the future. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge and the duration of exclusive breastfeeding with the incidence of stunting in infants aged 6–12 months in the working area of Kuala Bangka Health Center, Kualuh Hilir District, North Labuhan Batu Regency in 2021.Method: This study used a case control design with a sample of 110 respondents (55 cases and 55 controls) selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire and processed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between the duration of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.002; OR = 4.394; 95% CI = 1.709–11.295), where infants who were not exclusively breastfed had a 4.4 times greater risk of experiencing stunting than infants who received optimal exclusive breastfeeding. However, there was no significant relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.233). Conclusion: The duration of exclusive breastfeeding was proven to be associated with the incidence of stunting, while maternal knowledge did not show a significant relationship. Stunting prevention efforts should focus on improving the practice of appropriate and comprehensive exclusive breastfeeding, accompanied by practice-based nutrition education that mothers can apply in childcare.

Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia. One of the government’s efforts to address this problem is through the exclusive breastfeeding program. However, the achievement of this program is still below expectations. This community service activity was conducted at the Langkak Village Hall, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency, using lectures and discussions as methods. The participants consisted of 27 individuals, including pregnant women and mothers with toddlers. The activity took place on Thursday, August 8, 2024, for a duration of 90 minutes, and was attended by 17 participants. During the discussion/Q&A session, seven participants actively asked questions related to exclusive breastfeeding and shared the challenges they encountered in practicing it. The results indicated the need for a more structured strategy to enhance understanding and implementation of exclusive breastfeeding within the community. One proposed strategy is the establishment of the “Family Loves Baby” class, based on a SWOT analysis approach. This class would involve one family member from each household with an infant aged 0–6 months, serving as a support system for exclusive breastfeeding. Additionally, Posyandu cadres are expected to play an active role in providing education and raising awareness among mothers, families, and the broader community about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding to prevent stunting. This approach is expected to serve as a concrete step in supporting the government’s program to reduce stunting rates in the region.

Mother's Milk (breast milk) exclusive breastfeeding was only in babies starting at the age of 0 to 6 months.  When mothers don't know how to manage their lactation, it can stop them from breastfeeding their babies properly.  The goal of this study is to find out what happens when people learn how to breastfeed and how that changes the practice of exclusively breastfeeding in first-time moms.  The quasi-approach and experimental pre-post strategy are used in this study.  Mothers who had their first child at the Bangetayu health center made up the sample, which was made up of 50 people chosen at random from the whole population.  Questionnaires filled out before and after the activity were used to collect data.  The 50 people who filled out the Wilcoxon test showed that mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills were different before and after education. The p value of 0.001 (p value <0.05) means that mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills on exclusive breastfeeding were different before and after education.  Lactation instruction had an effect on the practice of nursing exclusively for the first six months after giving birth.

Wrong perceptions regarding exclusive breastfeeding can influence exclusive breastfeeding. An example is insufficient breast milk production. This reason is the main reason mothers do not breastfeed exclusively. In this case, the mother feels that her breast milk is not enough, with various complaints such as the breasts getting smaller, the breast milk becoming thinner, the baby crying more often and asking to be breastfed more often (Walyani, 2015). This research aims to determine the relationship between maternal characteristics and social support on the provision of exclusive breast milk to breastfeeding mothers at the Datuk Bandar Community Health Center, Datuk Bandar District, Tanjungbalai City in 2024. This type of research is research with a cross-sectional design. The population and sample were all breastfeeding mothers at the Datuk Bandar Community Health Center, Datuk Bandar District, Tanjungbalai City in 2024 in May-June, as many as 39 people using the total sampling technique using the Chi Square statistical test. There is no significant relationship between age and exclusive breastfeeding. There is a significant relationship between education level and exclusive breastfeeding. There is a significant relationship between work and exclusive breastfeeding. There is no significant relationship between social support and exclusive breastfeeding at the Datuk Bandar Community Health Center, Datuk Bandar District, Tanjungbalai City in 2024

Exclusive breastfeeding is the primary and best source of nutrition for infants. The World Health Organization (WHO) strongly recommends exclusive breastfeeding due to its numerous benefits for infant growth, particularly during the first six months of life. However, the significance of breastfeeding is often not conveyed effectively to nursing mothers, resulting in many failing to exclusively breastfeed their babies and opting instead for formula milk or other types of food. One reason for this failure is the lack of information provided to mothers, which weakens their motivation to consistently provide exclusive breastfeeding to their babies aged 0-6 months. To address this issue, a counseling session was conducted in Sayar Subdistrict, Serang City, with 15 participants. The session employed a pre-test and post-test method using a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions to measure the participants' knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding. The assessment was divided into three categories: good knowledge, adequate knowledge, and poor knowledge. The pre-test results showed that 13% of participants had good knowledge, 20% had adequate knowledge, and 67% had poor knowledge. After the counseling session, the results improved significantly, with 87% of participants categorized as having good knowledge, 13% with adequate knowledge, and none in the poor knowledge category. With this improved understanding of exclusive breastfeeding, it is hoped that the participants will be able to implement exclusive breastfeeding for their babies.
