Osteoarthritis is a progressive degenerative joint disease characterized by cartilage damage, chronic inflammation, and functional limitation. Current treatments mainly focus on symptom relief and mechanical correction, with limited ability to restore the biological environment of the joint. Recently, mesenchymal stem cell derived secretome has emerged as a promising cell free regenerative therapy with anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair potential. This study aimed to systematically review the role of mesenchymal stem cell secretome in osteoarthritis management, both as an intra-articular therapy and as an adjuvant following surgical intervention. A literature review was conducted on relevant preclinical and early clinical studies published over the past decade. The selected articles were analyzed to evaluate therapeutic mechanisms and clinical implications. The findings indicate that intra articular administration of secretome reduces inflammatory mediators, suppresses catabolic enzyme activity, and improves cartilage integrity in various osteoarthritis models. Early clinical evidence also suggests improvements in pain and joint function, especially in patients with mild to moderate disease. Furthermore, secretome shows potential as an adjuvant therapy after surgery by supporting biological recovery of joint tissues. Overall, mesenchymal stem cell secretome represents a promising component of a multimodal strategy for osteoarthritis management, although further clinical trials are required to confirm its efficacy and safety.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the leading causes of disability among the elderly population. This degenerative joint disease is characterized by progressive damage to the articular cartilage and structural alterations of the knee joint, resulting in pain, reduced mobility, and diminished quality of life. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to promote early detection of knee OA through simple radiological screening as a preventive strategy to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disability. The activity was conducted at Asisi Church, South Jakarta, involving 87 participants aged 54–87 years (mean 70.77 ± 7.32 years). Radiological examination was performed using standard anteroposterior knee X-rays, and results were classified according to the Kellgren–Lawrence grading system. Findings revealed that 98.9% of participants exhibited radiological signs of OA, predominantly grade II (60.9%), followed by grade III (21.8%), grade I (11.5%), and grade IV (4.6%), while only 1.1% showed normal results. Female participants (74.7%) predominated across all OA grades, indicating hormonal and biomechanical influences on disease progression. The mean age increased with OA severity, supporting the degenerative theory that aging leads to decreased chondrocyte function and cartilage elasticity. In addition to screening, participants received education on weight management, muscle strengthening exercises, and injury prevention. The results demonstrate that simple radiological screening is an effective, practical, and cost-efficient community-based approach for early detection of knee OA. Integrating such preventive strategies within primary care systems could significantly reduce the burden of disability among the elderly population.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis that affects the knee. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative process in which joint cartilage is gradually eroded. This disease often attacks middle-aged and elderly people. Osteoarthritis can be caused by excessive stress on the joints such as repeated injuries or being overweight. The aim of this activity is to provide acupressure therapy to reduce the level of pain experienced by elderly people with knee osteoarthritis. The target of this activity is elderly people who experience knee osteoarthritis in Bangun Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa District with a total of 16 people. This activity is carried out by providing acupressure therapy. The results of the activity showed a decrease in pain levels in elderly people with knee osteoarthritis in Bangu Rejo village, Tanjung Morawa district. It is hoped that the elderly can manage pain with knee osteoarthritis by providing acupressure therapy

Joint pain is a disease that is familiar in everyday life. and mostly in elderly people who are close to joint pain disorders which is a degenerative disease. Apart from the age factor, there are many things that influence the rate at which joint pain occurs due to the fact that many elderly people do not control their lifestyle such as regular exercise, diet and so on. Pain often occurs in the hands or fingers, knees, hips and spine. This disease generally develops gradually and gets worse over time, disrupting the sufferer's ability to do physical activity. Methods of exercise therapy for osteoarthritis are therapy in the form of active movement exercises and in the form of exercises using resistance/weights which aim to train the muscles so that the muscles become relaxed, preventing limitations. movement, maintain muscle elasticity and increase muscle strength. Exercise therapy will minimize injury by strengthening the muscles supporting the joints, restoring strength and range of motion so that activities can be carried out as before. Activities that are beneficial for health should meet the FITT criteria (frequency, intensity, time, type). Frequency is how often the activity is done, intensity is how hard the activity is done, usually divided into low, medium and high intensity. Time refers to the duration of the activity and the type of physical activity carried out. Community service activities are aimed at all elderly people in order to increase knowledge and alternatives about non-pharmacological therapies that are relatively safe from side effects.

Osteoarthritis of the knee in the elderly can cause pain due to the degradation of joint cartilage in which the joint cartilage is damaged which is characterized by changes in the joint capsule and damage to the cartilage located at the bone joints. Knee Pain Exercise and warm compresses are two methods that can be used to manage knee osteoarthritis pain.. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of knee pain exercise and warm compresses on reducing knee osteoarthritis pain in the elderly. Using a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 40 respondents was drawn from the population of up to 125 people. A cross-over group design technique and a quasi-experimental approach were used in the research design. The instrument used was a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) observation sheet. The normality of the data was tested using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The hypotheses were tested and analyzed using paired samples T test with p-value 0.000 on each variable which means that there is an effect of knee pain exercise and warm compresses on knee osteoarthritis pain. The effectiveness test used independent samples test and it was found that warm compresses had the smallest mean value (2.55), which means that warm compresses were more effective in reducing knee osteoarthritis pain than knee pain exercise. It is expected that the elderly who experience knee osteoarthritis pain do regular exercise which is a physical exercise to reduce knee osteoarthritis pain.
