The fishermen's community in Tapak Village, Tugurejo Subdistrict, Semarang faces persistent economic vulnerability driven by fluctuating income, low financial literacy, and exposure to illegal online lending and digital financial fraud. This community service program aimed to strengthen the economic resilience of fishermen's families through participatory financial literacy education. Using a participatory-interactive approach involving coastal community members, the program delivered comprehensive financial literacy training tailored to the needs of coastal communities. Program effectiveness was measured through pre-test and post-test instruments. Results showed significant improvements in participants' understanding of cash flow recording, ability to differentiate needs from wants, household budget planning, and capacity to identify illegal online lending characteristics. This program confirms that context-based participatory education is effective in enhancing the financial capacity and resilience of coastal communities.

This community service study investigates a marketing training program implemented by theology students of STT Kadesi Bogor at the GPIA Sidoasri congregation in Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency, East Java. The program targeted eighteen women members of the congregation to improve their economic capacity through the marketing of low-cost everyday clothing via three channels: door-to-door sales, a small storefront at the church, and online commerce through TikTok. The study applied a pre- test/post-test design evaluated using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) method to measure changes in knowledge and skill across five indicators: marketing knowledge, selling skills, online media usage, basic financial recording, and entrepreneurial motivation. Results indicated a moderate-to-high N-Gain across all measured indicators, with an average N-Gain score of 0.656 (moderate category), and the highest individual gain in entrepreneurial motivation (0.76, high category). Sales data over the three-month period (January–March 2025) recorded a total profit of Rp1,967,500 across 345 garments sold, representing an income supplement of approximately 27–35% relative to participants' baseline household income for the most active participants. A marked sales decline in February and March was attributed to seasonal demand shifts ahead of Eid al-Fitr, as consumers redirected purchases toward formal Muslim attire. The program demonstrated that congregation-based economic empowerment rooted in a biblical theology of work, stewardship, and the dignity of labor can yield measurable and holistic socioeconomic outcomes for Christian women in rural communities.

This study aims to analyze the utilization of Community Forestry, the role of farmers group, and the perceptions of livestock farmers who are members of “HKm Ulusena” Farmers Group regarding the utilization of the Ulusena Community Forest. This study was conducted from November 2024 to July 2025 in Ulusena Village, Moramo District, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach. The determination of informants was carried out using a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data sources in this study used primary and secondary data. Data collection was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process used the Miles and Huberman method, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The utilization of the Ulusena Community Forest is divided into three categories: land use, utilization and collection of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), and utilization of environmental services. Livestock serves as a secondary source of income for livestock farmers, members of the Ulusena Community Forest Farmer Group. Utilization in livestock involves the use of forest areas as land for growing green fodder. “HKm Ulusena” Farmers Group has not been actively operating, so a new group management structure was formed. The new management structure periodically carries out a process of increasing the capacity of regional, institutional, and business management to foster group synergy by reactivating group activities. Farmers' perceptions of the use of the Ulusena Community Forest tend to be positive. Positive impacts of the Ulusena Community Forest utilization include obtaining permits for non-timber forest product (NTFP) management, obtaining economic resources from NTFPs, and obtaining resources to support the livestock sector.

This study aims to analyze the forms and strategies of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) empowerment implemented in Sukadamai Village, Lemito District, Pohuwato Regency; to examine the roles of business actors, village government, and the social environment in supporting MSME empowerment; and to identify the impact of MSME empowerment on family economic independence. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Head of Sukadamai Village and 12 MSME actors as key informants. The findings reveal that MSME empowerment in Sukadamai Village has been implemented through the provision of business equipment assistance and informal mentoring activities. However, such support remains limited and has not been distributed evenly across all MSME sectors. The village government primarily functions as a facilitator and initial supporter, while MSME actors play an active role in sustaining their businesses as the main source of household income, supported by family members and the surrounding social environment. The impact of MSME empowerment on family economic independence is reflected in households’ ability to meet their basic needs independently and reduce their reliance on external assistance. Nevertheless, the level of economic independence achieved remains relatively limited due to the absence of structured business development programs and inadequate financial management practices.

This study examines the impact of the presence of PT Toba Agro Mandiri on the livelihoods of the community in Pohan Julu Village, Siborong-borong District, North Tapanuli Regency. The establishment of the company has brought socio-economic changes to the local community, particularly in relation to employment opportunities and sources of income. Prior to the company's presence, most residents depended on traditional agriculture as their main livelihood. This research aims to analyze the changes in community livelihoods following the operation of the company and to identify the factors that influence the community in responding to these changes. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving community members and relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that the presence of PT Toba Agro Mandiri has both positive and negative impacts on the community. Positive impacts include increased income for landowners through land leasing, the availability of new employment opportunities, and the emergence of supporting economic activities. However, negative impacts were also identified, such as unequal access to employment opportunities, social disparities between landowners and non-landowners, and a gradual shift away from traditional agricultural practices. These findings highlight the importance of more inclusive employment opportunities and community empowerment programs to ensure that the benefits of the company's presence can be distributed more evenly among the local community.

This study aims to examine the influence of non-performing loans (NPLs) on the financial performance of KSP Kopdit Hiro Heling, Maumere Branch, during the period 2020–2024. Non-performing loans are among the most critical issues faced by credit unions, as they can disrupt liquidity, reduce income, and negatively affect the distribution of the Remaining Operating Results (SHU). The research adopts a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data sources include both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through direct interviews with the General Manager and Manager of KSP Kopdit Hiro Heling, Maumere Branch, while secondary data consist of loan disbursement records and NPL statistics covering the 2020–2024 period. The findings reveal that the level of non-performing loans fluctuated throughout the study period, directly impacting the cooperative’s financial performance. These fluctuations affected liquidity and SHU, which also varied annually. An increase in NPLs led to a decline in SHU due to reduced interest income and rising uncollectible receivables, whereas a decrease in NPLs contributed to improved SHU and enhanced financial stability. Interviews further indicated that NPLs were influenced by members’ limited repayment capacity, misuse of loans, weak monitoring, and external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and members’ economic conditions. The study concludes that higher levels of NPLs increase the risk of declining financial performance and SHU. Therefore, KSP Kopdit Hiro Heling, Maumere Branch, must strengthen creditworthiness analysis, improve monitoring and member assistance, and enhance collection systems to mitigate NPLs and safeguard financial stability in the future.

Savings and Loan Cooperatives (KSP) play a strategic role as microfinance institutions that promote members' financial welfare through savings and loan services based on trust and togetherness. This study aims to analyze profitability as the basis for financial performance assessment of KSP Credit Union Bahtera Sejahtera Kewapante during the 2023–2025 period. The analysis focuses on three main profitability ratios—Return on Equity (ROE), Profit Margin (PM), and Assets Turnover (AT)—along with interpretation of performance trends, causal factors of fluctuations, and their implications for the cooperative's operational sustainability. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation, documentation of financial statements for the last three years, and financial ratio analysis. Results indicate a significant decline in profitability performance: ROE decreased from 2.01% (2023) to -0.91% (2024) and slightly improved to -0.25% (2025); Profit Margin fell from 13.81% to -7.75% and -2.24%; while Assets Turnover showed a downward trend from 0.049 times to 0.039 times in 2025. All ratios remain far below ideal standards (ROE ≥10%, PM ≥20%, AT ≥1 time), indicating inefficiency in capital management, insufficient income to cover operational expenses, and low asset productivity. These conditions are caused by declining business income, rising operational costs, and weakening member economic activity. The findings confirm the critical need for optimizing productive loan disbursement, enhancing operational cost efficiency, and increasing active member participation as essential strategies to restore profitability and ensure the long-term sustainability of the cooperative.

The process of determining eligibility for social assistance recipients is often constrained by subjective assessments and uncertainty in decision-making criteria. This condition can lead to inaccurate targeting and unfair distribution of aid. Therefore, an appropriate decision support method is required to handle data uncertainty effectively. This study aims to apply the Fuzzy Mamdani method to determine the eligibility of social assistance recipients based on several assessment criteria. The criteria used in this study include monthly income, number of dependents, and housing conditions. The research method consists of data collection, fuzzification, formulation of fuzzy rules, inference using the Mamdani approach, and defuzzification to obtain a crisp output value. The results show that the Fuzzy Mamdani method is able to classify recipients into eligible and non-eligible categories more flexibly compared to conventional methods. The generated eligibility values reflect real conditions more accurately by considering degrees of membership for each criterion. The implementation of this method can assist decision-makers in improving the accuracy, objectivity, and fairness of social assistance distribution. This research is expected to contribute to the development of intelligent decision support systems in the social welfare sector.

The background of this research is based on the enormous potential of zakat, infaq, shadaqah, and waqf (ZISWAF) as Islamic social finance instruments which, if managed optimally and sustainably, can play a significant role in reducing poverty and promoting comprehensive economic independence among communities amid the ongoing challenges of social inequality. The purpose of this study is to explain the strategic function of ZISWAF in strengthening the community’s economy while emphasizing the urgency of professional, transparent, and targeted management for the improvement of public welfare at large. The research method used was library research, evaluating various literature sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant previous research reports. The collected data was then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach to provide an in-depth understanding of the mechanism of economic empowerment through ZISWAF. Research findings show that ZISWAF plays a crucial role in improving economic welfare through a paradigm shift from consumptive assistance to productive assistance programs. Management oriented towards sustainability and transparency has proven effective in promoting economic ind ependence among low-income communities and significantly reducing poverty rates. The implication of this study confirm that strengthening regulations, digitizing management, and improving public literacy regarding ZISWAF are essential. Management institutions must continue to improve their accountability in order to increase public trust, so that ZISWAF can become a key development in the future.

Educational inequality persists across ASEAN despite improvements in enrollment and literacy, reflecting structural rather than merely access-related challenges. This study examines how governance structures, financing mechanisms, institutional capacity, and socio-economic stratification interact to produce disparities in educational access, participation, and progression. Using a qualitative-dominant mixed-methods design with cross-national comparative policy analysis, the research integrates macro-level quantitative indicators with in-depth qualitative evaluation of policy frameworks across ASEAN member states. Findings reveal that while primary enrollment approaches universality, secondary and tertiary education exhibit pronounced attrition, particularly among rural, low-income, and minority populations. Centralized governance, equitable public financing, and targeted support correlate with higher retention and reduced disparities, as evidenced in high-performing systems such as Singapore, whereas decentralized or under-resourced systems exacerbate structural inequities. Moreover, digital access and institutional capacity emerge as critical factors influencing educational trajectories. The study underscores that addressing inequality requires systemic reforms integrating governance coordination, progressive financing, institutional strengthening, and equity-focused interventions. By foregrounding structural determinants and cross-national variation, this research contributes to theoretical and policy debates on educational equity, providing evidence-based guidance for ASEAN strategies aimed at achieving inclusive, high-quality education across diverse socio-economic and geographic contexts.

Compliance in paying contributions is an important factor in ensuring the sustainability of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program, especially in the Non-Wage Workers (PBPU) segment who make payments independently. However, the level of compliance of PBPU participants in Jakarta City is still low, as indicated by the high rate of contribution arrears and the large number of deactivated memberships. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence compliance in paying National Health Insurance (JKN) contributions in the Non-Wage Workers (PBPU) segment in Jakarta City in 2025. The research design used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 180 respondents. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between perception and compliance (p = 0.002), income with compliance (p = 0.046), and motivation with compliance (p = 0.000). However, there was no significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.291) and sanctions (p = 0.103) on compliance in paying contributions. These findings indicate that psychological and economic aspects have a strong influence on driving compliance with JKN premiums. Therefore, efforts to improve compliance need to focus on enhancing positive perceptions, internal motivation, and sustainable income for participants. Perception is the most dominant factor influencing compliance among PBPU participants. Strategies to increase education and improve services are needed to boost compliance and ensure the sustainability of the JKN program.
