In Indonesia, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have long been recognized as a very important business sector due to their various real roles in the economy. However, MSMEs often face many obstacles in running their businesses. More incentive support from various parties, especially the government, is needed for the development of MSMEs. In order to overcome the problems faced by MSMEs and support their sustainability, a KKU (Business Field Study) activity was carried out by Group 15 at the KKU-11 of the Institute of Technology and Business (ITB) Adias Pemalang at the MSME “Ev_Kids Product.”After conducting an observation phase, several problems faced by the SME were identified, including the lack of social media for marketing, failure to calculate the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and maintain simple accounting records, absence of a business logo, banners, promotional image designs, organizational structure, business profile, product catalog, stamps, receipt books, and product attributes. Additionally, the SME had never produced a production video or promotional video. After conducting the observation phase, KKU actors formulated several business development assistance programs, namely creating social media accounts, calculating the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), creating simple bookkeeping, creating a business logo, banners, promotional image designs, organizational structure, business profile, product catalog, stamps, note books, and product attributes in the form of hangtags. They also created production videos and promotional videos.

This study aims to explore the process of digital transformation and innovative strategies adopted by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the context of the digital economy. The research focuses on understanding how micro MSME actors adopt digital technology, the challenges they face, and the implications for business independence and competitiveness. A qualitative descriptive approach with a single case study design was employed, focusing on one micro culinary MSME in Medan City. Data were collected through in depth interviews, direct observation, and digital documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the use of social media for marketing purposes has increased business visibility and expanded customer reach at the local level. However, digital transformation remains at an early stage, constrained by limited capital, low digital literacy, and the lack of integrated digital business systems. These results suggest that digital transformation in micro MSMEs is a gradual and context dependent process that requires strong ecosystem support to enhance sustainable business independence and competitiveness. This study contributes to the literature by providing qualitative empirical insights into digital transformation at the micro enterprise level.

Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Economic Entity Principle in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) Kedai Kita, which still relies on a simple financial recording system. The principle emphasizes the importance of separating personal and business finances to ensure that financial statements accurately and objectively reflect the entity's economic condition. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through direct interviews with the business owner to gain an in-depth understanding of the financial management practices implemented. The findings indicate that the application of the Economic Entity Principle at Kedai Kita has not been fully realized, as evidenced by the ongoing mixing of personal and business funds, the absence of a formal bookkeeping system, and inconsistent recording of cash flows and expenditures. The main factors hindering the implementation of this principle include limited accounting literacy, lack of time for bookkeeping, and the absence of a structured accounting system. Nevertheless, the business owner has begun to recognize the importance of separating finances as a foundation for more accountable business management. These findings imply the need for the adoption of simple recording applications, the provision of basic accounting training, and increased understanding among MSME actors regarding the benefits of structured financial statements. This study provides practical contributions for other MSMEs by demonstrating that the implementation of the Economic Entity Principle is a fundamental step in enhancing financial transparency and accountability, as well as strengthening opportunities for access to formal financing.

Food-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting household economic growth, including in Sialang Village, Bangkinang Subdistrict. One of the local businesses, “Keripik Cabe dan Mie Kuning Bu Inun,” produces cassava chips using traditional frying methods, which result in high oil absorption, inconsistent quality, short shelf life, and low production efficiency. Limited knowledge of food processing technology, sanitation, and food safety standards further hinders business development. This community service program aims to address these challenges through the application of low-oil frying technology, training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), production assistance, and periodic evaluation. The implementation method includes field observation, technical training, technology demonstration, production mentoring, and monitoring. The results show significant improvements in product quality, indicated by lower oil content, crispier texture, brighter color, and longer shelf life. Efficiency in oil usage and process stability also increased. Moreover, the knowledge and skills of MSME actors in sanitation, food safety, and production management improved considerably. Overall, the program successfully enhanced the competitiveness of the MSME, strengthened production sustainability, and provided positive economic impacts. This community service activity aims to assist the Ibu Jum Tempe Home Industry MSME in Bandar Lampung in implementing the process costing method as a more accurate, measurable, and efficient production cost calculation system. To date, MSMEs still use simple cost recording without a clear separation between raw material costs, labor, and factory overhead, so that product selling prices often do not reflect actual production costs. To address this problem, this activity was carried out through several stages, namely interviews to explore MSME needs and problems, production process observations, socialization regarding the importance of cost accounting systems, and direct training in the preparation and implementation of process costing. The results of the activity showed an increase in MSME owners' understanding of cost classification, unit cost calculations, and the preparation of production cost reports. After the process costing method was implemented, MSMEs were able to calculate costs more systematically and consistently, thus being able to determine more appropriate and competitive selling prices. In addition, the implementation of this method also contributed to increased cost management efficiency, transparency of financial information, and the managerial ability of business actors in making more appropriate decisions related to cost planning and control.

The research data were gathered through questionnaires administered to MSME actors across Karanganyar Regency. The kind of information employed in this investigation was categorized as primary data. Analytical results indicated that the implementation of e-filing does not produce a notable effect simultaneously on MSME taxpayer compliance in Karanganyar Regency. Further outcomes revealed that digital literacy also shows no significant simultaneous impact on MSME taxpayer compliance in Karanganyar Regency. Findings from the F-test demonstrated an insignificant influence of combined e-filing implementation and digital literacy on MSME taxpayer compliance in Karanganyar Regency. The calculation provided an R² value of 0.002, equivalent to 2%, signifying that only a minimal effect is contributed by the implementation of e-filing and digital literacy toward MSME taxpayer compliance in Karanganyar Regency

The utilization of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has an important role in encouraging digitalization of transactions and improving financial recording and reporting. The background of this study is the need for MSMEs to adapt to the development of digital payment technology, especially in the midst of accelerated digitization triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although QRIS provides various benefits, such as ease of transactions and automatic recording, there are still a number of obstacles such as limited digital literacy, uneven infrastructure, and concerns related to cybersecurity, especially in remote areas. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to SMEs that have adopted QRIS in several regions in Indonesia. Data were collected through field observations, and documentation studies related to the use of QRIS in business activities. Data analysis was conducted thematically to explore in-depth understanding of the experiences, challenges, and benefits felt by MSME actors in the use of QRIS. The results showed that QRIS makes it easier for MSMEs to process payments and automatic digital transaction recording, thereby increasing the accuracy and transparency of financial statements. However, limited access to electricity, digital devices, and digital security literacy are significant barriers to optimal implementation of QRIS. The security aspect of digital transactions is an important concern for MSMEs, who need further education and technical support. Thus, strengthening digital literacy, improving infrastructure, and strict cybersecurity regulations are urgently needed to encourage wider and inclusive adoption of QRIS among MSMEs in Indonesia.

This study aims to examine how Islamic financing contributes to the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the trade sector. MSMEs play a crucial role as one of the main pillars of the national economy; however, they continue to face various challenges such as limited access to capital, inadequate managerial skills, and low levels of financial literacy. Islamic financing emerges as a solution by applying fundamental Islamic principles, including the prohibition of usury (riba), fairness, and transparency in all financial transactions. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method based on a literature review from various reliable sources. The findings reveal that Islamic financing, through contracts such as murabahah, musyarakah, mudharabah, and ijarah, not only provides access to capital but also offers mentoring and training programs to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses more professionally. The positive impact of Islamic financing can be seen in the improvement of business performance, increased turnover, and enhanced welfare among MSME actors. Furthermore, this system contributes to the stability of the Islamic banking industry and promotes sustainable national economic growth. Therefore, further development of Islamic financing is necessary to expand its reach and benefit a greater number of small and medium enterprises across Indonesia.
