Sweet orange peel (Citrus x aurantium L.) is an agricultural by-product rich in bioactive compounds including flavonoids, phenolics, terpenoids, and vitamin C with antioxidant and moisturizing potential. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate a body lotion using 15% ethanol extract of sweet orange peel obtained by maceration with 96% ethanol. Evaluations included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, spreadability, viscosity, irritation, cycling test, cream type, and DPPH antioxidant activity assessments. The preparation was semisolid, yellow, with a characteristic herbal aroma, homogeneous, pH 8, adhesion time of 4.10 seconds, spreadability of 9.9–11.1 cm, and acceptable viscosity. The preparation caused no skin irritation, remained stable through six cycling test cycles, and formed an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion. Antioxidant activity showed an IC₅₀ of 284.6 ppm (weak category) compared to vitamin C as positive control (IC₅₀ 4.2 ppm). It was concluded that ethanol extract of sweet orange peel can be formulated into a stable and safe body lotion, though further optimization is needed to enhance its antioxidant activity.

This study aims to analyze the role of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in utilizing lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) as the main ingredient for mosquito repellent products and its contribution to improving the economy of the community in Timbang Jaya Village. Lemongrass contains essential oils that function as a natural insect repellent, making it a potential raw material for value-added products such as mosquito repellent sprays, aromatherapy candles, and herbal lotions. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings indicate that local MSMEs play a significant role in the production process, product innovation, and marketing of lemongrass-based products. Besides generating additional income, this development also creates new job opportunities and supports the village’s economic independence. However, several challenges remain, including limited capital, lack of processing technology skills, and competition with chemical-based products. The recommended solutions include capacity building through training and mentoring, better access to funding, and strengthening digital marketing strategies. Therefore, the development of mosquito repellent products from lemongrass by MSMEs not only contributes to the community’s economic growth but also provides an environmentally friendly alternative beneficial for public health.

Dengue Hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is caused by a dengue virus that spreads through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which breeds a lot in densely populated areas with humid and warm climates. Anti-mosquito drugs in the form of burns, sprays, lotions, or other types are already widely used, but these anti-mosquito drugs are not entirely beneficial. This research is purely experimental research with Post-test Only Control Group Design by making air spray solution products from noni leaf infusion and cananga flower, which are analyzed descriptively and analytically. Experiments carried out with Randomized Complete Design 1 time repetition to analyze effectiveness. The study used two factors: treatment (P) using infusion products while the control (K) using distilled water. From the results of mixing, it was obtained as much as 400 ml of infusion solution. Obtained in each measurement, there was a reduction in live larvae until the last measurement. Noni leaf contains five flavonol glycosides (flavonoid compounds) as respiratory poisons and a combination of saponins and tannins as stomach poisons that have the killing power against the death of Aedes aegypti larvae. Cananga flower extract itself can resist mosquitoes because of the content of linalool, geraniol and eugenol. This makes a change in the larvae's behavior, where the previously active movement will be slow and eventually will die.
