Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) is an Islamic microfinance institution that plays an essential role in expanding financial access for low-income communities and supporting sustainable economic development. This article aims to analyze the role of BMT as an inclusive monetary instrument within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study employs a library research approach with descriptive-analytical methods based on secondary data from books, academic journals, research reports, and official documents. The findings show that BMT significantly contributes to financial inclusion through real-sector-based Islamic financing, especially for micro-enterprises and low-income households. Moreover, BMT’s social function—realized through the management of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah—strengthens income redistribution, poverty alleviation, and community welfare. BMT supports several SDG targets, particularly in reducing poverty, creating decent employment, developing MSMEs, and minimizing socioeconomic inequality. However, the optimization of BMT’s role still faces challenges such as limited capital, governance constraints, digital transformation, and institutional strengthening. Therefore, synergy between BMT, the government, regulators, and the community is needed to enhance BMT’s contribution as an inclusive, sustainable, and Sharia-compliant economic development agent.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global agenda that emphasizes the importance of balancing economic growth, social justice, and environmental sustainability. In Indonesia, the primary challenge in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) lies in the limited financing of sustainable development projects. Sukuk, particularly green sukuk, is a sharia-compliant financial instrument with the potential to provide an alternative solution to support funding for environmentally friendly projects and green infrastructure. This study aims to analyze the role of sukuk in financing sustainable development, identify its potential and implementation challenges, and compare it with other national financial instruments. This study employed a library research method through a literature review of books, scientific journals, articles, and empirical data related to sukuk development. The results show that demand for sukuk is increasing compared to conventional bonds and provides a competitive financing alternative based on sharia principles. However, its implementation still faces obstacles such as financial literacy, regulatory readiness, market liquidity, and limited institutional coordination. Strengthening regulations and stakeholder collaboration are necessary for sukuk to effectively support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of interfaith relations in Indonesia by integrating Social Identity Theory (SIT), Social Identity Complexity (SIC), and Pope Francis’ vision of synodality. The focus is directed toward understanding how social identity categories, overlapping identity structures, and the synodal vision of communion, participation, and mission enrich the paradigm of religious moderation in a plural society. This research employs a qualitative library research design using descriptive-analytical and content analysis techniques on identity theories, empirical findings on interfaith tolerance, and relevant Catholic Church documents. The analysis includes an exploration of the core concepts of SIT and SIC, a review of interfaith tolerance practices in Indonesian communities, and an examination of the pastoral significance of synodality as a dialogical approach. The findings indicate that religious moderation can flourish when religious communities have natural spaces of encounter, develop flexible identity intersections, and engage actively in mutual listening as emphasized in the Synod 2021–2024. In this context, synodality provides a theological and pastoral framework for cultivating inclusive, creative, and transformative interfaith relations, allowing each religious tradition to express its uniqueness while fostering fraternal harmony.

This study aims to examine the implementation of Qardhul Hasan in Islamic Microfinance Institutions (Baitul Maal wat Tamwil – BMT) in Indonesia through the perspective of qard and ‘Ariyah contracts. The research applies a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method. Data were collected from scholarly articles, books, and Islamic finance regulations, then analyzed to assess the alignment between fiqh al-mu‘āmalah principles and real-world practices. The findings reveal that qardhul hasan plays a vital role in community empowerment and in promoting Islamic financial inclusion. However, its implementation still faces several obstacles, including high non-performing financing rates, limited social funds, weak sharia supervision standards, and low literacy in fiqh mu‘āmalah among BMT managers. On the other hand, there are significant opportunities for development through digital transformation, human resource capacity building, optimization of social funds (ZISWAF), and the strengthening of regulations based on maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. This study proposes an integrative model combining qard and ‘ariyah contracts as an alternative approach to enhance the social function of BMTs while maintaining financial sustainability.

The role of economics in human life has become increasingly significant in the modern era as it serves as a foundation for meeting daily needs and achieving collective welfare. This study aims to analyze how Islamic economic principles regulate price determination in markets and income distribution to ensure fairness and social balance. The research adopts a qualitative approach through library research by reviewing classical Islamic literature, modern economic works, and Qur’anic interpretations related to economic justice. The findings show that Islam emphasizes justice, equality, and welfare as the foundation of all economic activity. Price setting in Islam must reflect fairness, avoiding exploitation and ensuring that transactions bring mutual benefit to both sellers and buyers. Meanwhile, income distribution is directed toward social equity through the implementation of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah, which serve as instruments for wealth redistribution and poverty alleviation. The implication of this study is that the application of Islamic economic principles can provide a moral and sustainable alternative to conventional capitalist systems by promoting fairness, social responsibility, and economic stability within society.

This study examines two key development issues in developing : economic dualism and population issues, using a qualitative approach using library research. The analysis shows that economic dualism, characterizes by the gap between the low-productivity traditional sector and the high-tech modern sector, remains a key characteristic of Indonesia’s economic structure. On the other hand, high population growth and uncontrolled urbanization exacerbate inter-regional inequality and weaken the equitable distribution of development outcomes. The interconnectedness of these two issues creates a cycle of proverty that is difficult to break and hinders the achivement of sustaineble development. Therefore, an integrative and inclusive develpment strategy is neded, encompassing strengthenung the tradisional sector, equitable imvestment, improving the quality of human resources, and controlling population growth to ensure more balanced and equitable development.

This study aims to examine the development, challenges, and prospects of the Indonesian education system from a historical, regulatory, and curriculum perspective. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a library study approach, this study examines relevant literature, laws and regulations, and previous research findings. The study results indicate that the Indonesian education system is a dynamic entity, influenced by internal and external factors from the Hindu-Buddhist era, the arrival of Islam, colonialism, to the Reformation era and the Independent Curriculum. A strong legal basis through the 1945 Constitution and Law Number 20 of 2003 provides a basic framework for national education, but in practice, challenges still arise in the form of disparities in quality between regions, limited facilities, and educator readiness. The Independent Curriculum is one of the latest innovations that emphasizes flexibility, 21st-century competencies, and the Pancasila student profile, although its implementation faces technical and resource constraints. This research emphasizes the importance of consistent education policies, strengthening teacher competencies, and equalizing access and facilities as strategic steps in realizing the national goal of enlightening the nation's life and preparing a generation with character, innovation, and the ability to compete globally.

Islamic insurance (takaful) is a financial instrument that functions not only as risk protection but also as an investment tool based on sharia principles. So far, the most commonly applied tijarah contracts in Islamic insurance are limited to wakalah bil ujrah and mudharabah. In fact, the development of modern society’s needs requires the diversification of contracts so that the offered products become more varied and competitive. This study aims to analyze the potential optimization of other tijarah contracts, such as musyarakah, murabahah, ijarah, and istishna’, in the development of Islamic insurance products. The research method used is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach, which involves reviewing literature, journals, DSN-MUI fatwas, and related regulations. The findings indicate that the application of other tijarah contracts has the potential to enrich Islamic insurance product variations, enhance transparency in fund management, and strengthen the competitiveness of Islamic insurance compared to conventional insurance. Furthermore, the diversification of contracts can provide solutions to the limited and monotonous business models of Islamic insurance. However, several challenges arise, including the absence of specific regulations governing these contracts, limited public understanding, and technical complexities in implementation. This study recommends the active role of regulators, especially DSN-MUI and OJK, in formulating clearer regulations and encouraging Islamic insurance companies to innovate by applying diverse sharia-based contracts. Thus, the optimization of other tijarah contracts will not only strengthen the existence of Islamic insurance in Indonesia but also fulfill society’s demand for financial products that are halal, innovative, and competitive.

This study explores the issue of misallocated zakat distribution at BAZNAS Cilegon, emphasizing the significance of trustworthiness (amanah) and accountability within the Islamic framework. Zakat serves not only as an act of worship but also as a socio-economic instrument designed to reduce inequality and improve community welfare. However, in practice, its distribution often encounters obstacles, particularly regarding transparency and the accuracy of targeting beneficiaries. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research method, this study analyzes scholarly journals, books, and official reports relevant to the topic. The findings reveal that weak beneficiary data collection, insufficient verification processes, and limited monitoring mechanisms contribute to zakat being distributed to unintended recipients. The suspected misuse of zakat funds at BAZNAS Cilegon highlights the urgent need for trustworthy and transparent governance supported by modern management systems. The implications of this study suggest that strengthening monitoring systems, implementing regular sharia-based audits, utilizing digital technology for data integration, and enforcing strict sanctions against negligent or dishonest amil are crucial steps to rebuild public trust. Ultimately, zakat can only achieve its dual function as a form of worship and as an instrument of social justice when managed with integrity, transparency, and professionalism.

This study examines how Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) resolves financing disputes internally. Employing a qualitative approach with library research, the study draws on scholarly articles, books, and related documents. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to identify common internal settlement practices that align with Sharia principles and national law. Results indicate that BMTs typically use deliberation among parties, mediation involving management or the Sharia Supervisory Board, and restructuring of financing as primary means to resolve conflicts. These options are favored to preserve institutional-member relationships and reduce adverse financial and social consequences. When internal measures do not succeed, disputes may be referred to Sharia arbitration or to religious courts. The findings highlight the importance of blending Sharia values with positive legal frameworks to ensure dispute resolution is fair, efficient, and sustainable.

This research aims to comprehensively describe and understand the utilization of the SINKARKES system (Ship and Health Information System) in the issuance of the Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) and the First Aid for Accidents (P3K) Certificate for vessels managed by PT. Surya Samudera Indah Batam. Compliance with ship sanitation and health standards is a mandatory prerequisite for preventing disease spread and ensuring occupational safety in accordance with prevailing regulations. The research methodology employed is field research (field research) to observe direct operational procedures in the field, supplemented by literature review (library research) to strengthen the theoretical and regulatory foundations of the Ministry of Health. The findings indicate that the process of issuing the certificates through SINKARKES begins with agent login access to the official application (sinakarkes.kemkes.go.id) using a registered company account. Subsequently, the agent submits an application for SSCEC and P3K issuance, followed by the completion of data and the uploading of mandatory supporting documents. These documents include the Maritime Health Declaration (MDH), previous SSCC/SSCEC certificates, the P3K certificate, crew list, voyage memo, and the list of last ports of call. Once the documents are verified, the Special Health Quarantine Officer (KarKessus) proceeds to conduct a physical survey onboard the vessel. The main obstacle encountered is poor internet network connectivity in the port area, which often leads to data input failures and double entry errors during certificate printing.

This study examines the concept of ukhuwah (brotherhood) from the perspective of the Qur’an as the foundation of social capital in Islam. Social capital in modern social theory is understood as networks, norms, and trust that strengthen collaboration between individuals and groups. In Islam, the spiritual foundation has been embedded through the value of ukhuwah. This research uses the library method with a thematic exegesis (mawdhu’i) approach to analyze the Qur’anic verses related to ukhuwah and link them to modern social capital theory. The findings show that ukhuwah plays an important role in cultivating trust (trust capital), strengthening socio-economic networks (network capital), and promoting fair economic distribution. Therefore, ukhuwah serves as a conceptual foundation for Islamic social capital, which is not only relevant in facing contemporary economic challenges but also supports equitable and sustainable economic development for the community. This study provides an understanding that Islamic social capital, built through ukhuwah, can be a solution for creating social justice and sustainable prosperity in society.
