The stages of the activity consist of preparation, education, training and evaluation. The results of the activity obtained an increase in the average knowledge score from 60% (pre-test) to 84% (post-test), participants successfully practiced the technique of using warm compresses correctly and several participants reported a decrease in pain after trying the warm compress technique at home for a week. This program has the potential to be further developed by involving a wider community.

Lactation management is an effort to help mothers achieve success in breastfeeding. This effort takes place from the pregnancy period, delivery, and the breastfeeding period until the child is 2 (two) years old. The practice of breastfeeding can also be carried out by breastfeeding from various backgrounds. However, not all mothers have the full time and opportunity to breastfeed their babies directly, including worker. Increased knowledge is needed to strengthen awareness in increasing knowledge and behavior in lactation management and exclusive breastfeeding. One of the efforts made is the transfer of knowledge regarding lactation management and exclusive breastfeeding. The result of this activity is that there is an increase in understanding about lactation management and exclusive breastfeeding after education.

In 2022, the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in Aceh was in 23rd position or around 65, 88%. This percentage was slightly lower compared to the data in 2021 where the number of exclusive breastfeeding was 66, 66%. This study aims to determine the correlation between lactation management and exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months in Simpang Tiga Public Health Centre. This study is an analytical research design using a cross-sectional approach with a total sample of 49 mothers with babies aged 6-11 months. The sample was chosen by using a total sampling technique. Data collection was gathered by distributing a questionnaire. This study was carried out from July 19th - August 3rd, 2024. The data were analysed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The result shows that of 49 respondents, the majority of the sample were non-exclusive breastfeeding shown by the responses from 28 respondents (57,1%), had middle-class education around 21 respondents (42,9), were unemployed 29 respondents (59,2%), had less knowledge 20 respondents (40,8%), and had no support from most of the families 32 respondents (62,3%). The findings prove a correlation between lactation management and exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0–6 months in Simpang Tiga Public Health Centre. This study recommends the respondents increase their knowledge and motivation by exploring information from various sources such as health workers, books, and social media so that mothers will have proper knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding.

The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia (37.3%) far below the national target of 80% requires evidence-based interventions, one of which is through strengthening knowledge of lactation management. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about lactation management and the success of exclusive breastfeeding among mothers with babies aged 6-12 months. Using a cross-sectional design with 85 respondents selected through purposive sampling in the working area of Ciseeng Public Health Center, Bogor Regency. Data collection used the Breastfeeding Knowledge Questionnaire (BFKQ) and Infant Feeding Practices Questionnaire (IFPQ) instruments. Results showed 58.8% of respondents had good knowledge and 70.6% successfully provided exclusive breastfeeding. Chi-square analysis confirmed a significant relationship between variables (p=0.003), with a 2.8 times higher probability of success in the well-informed group. The aspect of breastfeeding technique knowledge was identified as highest (72.9%), while handling lactation problems was lowest (41.2%). These findings emphasize the importance of structured education with emphasis on practical components of lactation management to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage.

Breastfeeding is the process of giving milk to babies or small children with breast milk (ASI) from the mother's breasts. Every effort is made to help mothers achieve success in breastfeeding their babies, which is called lactation management (Sutanto, 2018). Giving formula milk is not recommended for babies aged 0-6 months, because it can increase the risk of illness and even death in babies. UNCIEF states that giving formula milk can increase by 25 times the incidence of death in babies early in life compared to babies who are given exclusive breast milk.               This study used an analytical research design with a cross-sectional study approach, the population in the study was 50 people using Consecutive Sampling sampling, all subjects who came and met the selection criteria, and were included in the study until the required number of subjects was met. The data analysis used is chi square. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test obtained a result of 0.004. These results are smaller than the P value (0.05) or 0.004<0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and formula milk feeding, so the hypothesis in this study can be accepted. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test obtained a result of 0.003. These results are smaller than the P value (0.05) or 0.003<0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between maternal education and formula milk feeding, so the hypothesis in this study can be accepted. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test obtained a result of 0.005. These results are smaller than the P value (0.05) or 0.005 < 0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between mother's work and giving formula milk, so the hypothesis in this study can be accepted.       The conclusion is that there is a relationship between maternal education and the provision of formula milk at the Tanoh Alas health center. It is hoped that this research can be used to provide appropriate steps or strategies to encourage the public and health workers to provide exclusive breastfeeding, by minimizing the factors that influence early provision of formula milk.

Lactation management is needed to support the successful management of breastfeeding. Failure of the breastfeeding process is often caused by some mothers who do not understand the correct way to breastfeed. Based on UNICEF data, only 30% of post partum primiparous mothers provide exclusive breast milk, this shows that babies in Indonesia still receive non-exclusive breast milk. The aim of this service is to increase knowledge about lactation management which consists of how to breastfeed, the benefits of breastfeeding, the correct breastfeeding position. The activity was carried out at the Bara Baraya Community Health Center, Makassar City on December 9 2022. The method used in this service was lecture and question and answer which began with a pre-test then providing information and then a post-test with a total of 7 participants. The results of the activity showed that those who had good knowledge before the counseling were carried out were 3 people (42.85%) and after the counseling it increased to 7 people (100%), this shows that the counseling was effective in lactation management for Primiparous Postpartum Mothers..

The nutritional problems faced in Indonesia today remain the same, namely that many children suffer from malnutrition. The national movement to increase breastfeeding is one of the government's efforts to improve the health status of mothers and children. However, the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding has not been achieved, one of the reasons is the breastfeeding factor. Meanwhile, the point in the success of providing exclusive breastfeeding and continuing it for up to 2 years is related to a mother's understanding of lactation management. So this service activity is carried out to teach mothers who are young pregnant, late pregnant and have just given birth to a 1 month old baby to participate so that their knowledge increases. The method in this activity is a pre-test before providing information related to breastfeeding and lactation management, then continuing with the post-test to see the success of the activity. The mothers' enthusiasm was seen to be very high and resulted in a strong determination to be able to provide exclusive breast milk to their babies. The success rate of this activity was 80%, judged from the responses and questions from the participants.
