Background: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is one of the most frequently encountered oral mucosal conditions. Although RAS has been extensively considered clinically and through research, ulcer occurrence remains unavoidable, and most treatment approaches are primarily symptomatic. Objective: To identify anxiety as a predisposing factor in patients with minor RAS. Case Report: A 24-year-old female patient presented to Soelastri Dental and Oral Hospital with a complaint of an ulcer on the right upper lip. The patient reported pain and a burning sensation for the past four days. The pain worsened when consuming hot food or beverages. The patient had experienced similar episodes previously but had never sought treatment for this condition. Intraoral examination revealed a single shallow ulcer with an oval shape, regular margins, a yellowish-white base surrounded by an erythematous halo, measuring 3 × 2 mm on the right upper lip, and was symptomatic. Case Management: The treatment provided focused primarily on Communication, Information, and Education (CIE). The patient was informed about the predisposing factor experienced, which may contribute to the occurrence of RAS, namely anxiety. The patient also received education regarding maintaining oral hygiene, consuming fruits and vegetables, increasing water intake, eating more regularly, attending a follow-up visit seven days after treatment, and managing anxiety. Conclusion: In this case, RAS management was focused on eliminating predisposing factors, particularly anxiety, which was strongly suspected to be the triggering factor for minor RAS in this patient.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that requires long-term treatment and carries a high risk of recurrence. The recovery process for patients relies not only on medical intervention, but also requires optimal involvement and support from their families. The presence of a supportive family is believed to strengthen patient motivation and contribute positively to their psychological well-being. This study aims to identify the relationship between family support and relapse rates in schizophrenia patients undergoing treatment at the Aceh Mental Hospital Polyclinic. This study uses a correlational design with a Cross-Sectional method. Through Accidental Sampling, 114 samples were selected from a population of 3,233 individuals. Data collection took place between April 14 and 28, 2025, using a questionnaire focused on family support and relapse rates. To analyze the relationship between the two variables, a Chi-Square statistical test was applied. The main findings of the study show that aspects of family support in general (p=0.000), informational support (p=0.000), appreciative support (p=0.000), instrumental support (p=0.001), and emotional support (p=0.002) are correlated with the recurrence rate of patients. Based on the analysis of the results, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between family support and the recurrence of schizophrenia patients at the Aceh Mental Hospital Polyclinic. The practical implications of this research are expected to serve as a reference for the families of schizophrenia patients to increase their understanding and activity in providing support, including consulting with mental health professionals as an effort to prevent possible recurrence.

Malaria is a global health problem, particularly in tropical countries like Indonesia. Papua has 374 endemic districts/cities, with the highest number of malaria cases, with 14,586 cases, and Jayapura Regency in 2024 with 50,529 patients and 6,213 relapses. The high number of cases is due to the geographical conditions that favor mosquito breeding and the dormant state in the body. If treatment is not carried out correctly and thoroughly, it can lead to malaria relapse. The purpose of this study was to determine factors associated with relapse in malaria patients in the Harapan Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area, Jayapura Regency. This research was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. A total of 88 respondents were recruited using simple accidental sampling. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using chi-square and binary logistic regression. Based on the analysis, it was found that factors that were not related to recurrence in malaria patients in the Harapan Community Health Center, Jayapura Regency were age (p-value 1.000 > α 0.05), gender (p-value 0.855 > α 0.05), and education (p-value 0.124 > α 0.05). Factors related to recurrence in malaria patients in the Harapan Community Health Center, Jayapura Regency were occupation (p-value 0.032 or p < α 0.05), nutritional status (p-value 0.000 < α 0.05), and medication adherence (p-value 0.000 < α 0.05). Medication adherence was the dominant factor in recurrence in malaria patients at the Harapan Community Health Center (p-value 0.000 < 0.05). Malaria patients who do not comply with taking their medication cause the malaria parasite to become dormant in the body which can at any time cause malaria relapses and resistance to malaria drugs.

Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy, with a steadily increasing incidence rate. Although the overall survival rate is relatively high, the risk of recurrence after definitive treatment such as Radioactive Iodine (RAI) therapy remains a significant clinical challenge. Predicting recurrence risk is crucial for optimizing monitoring strategies and interventions. With advances in technology, machine learning (ML) approaches are increasingly utilized to support medical predictions, including the recurrence of thyroid cancer. This study aims to evaluate the performance of four classification algorithms—Logistic Regression, XGBClassifier, Random Forest Classifier, and Voting Classifier—in predicting thyroid cancer recurrence using the Thyroid Cancer Recurrence After RAI Therapy dataset, which consists of 383 patient records and 13 key clinical attributes. The evaluation was conducted using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and area under the curve (AUC) metrics. The results show that the XGBClassifier is the best-performing model with an accuracy of 97.4% and an AUC of 0.95, demonstrating superior performance in handling the minority class. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective machine learning–based clinical decision support systems for predicting thyroid cancer recurrence after therapy.
