Introduction: Febrile seizures are seizure episodes that occur due to an increase in body temperature above 38°C without evidence of central nervous system infection such as meningitis or encephalitis. In Indonesia, the prevalence of febrile seizures is approximately 2–5% among children aged 6 months to 3 years, and around 30% of these cases experience recurrence or recurrent febrile seizures. Therefore, an appropriate nursing care plan is required to manage patients with febrile seizures. Methods: This scientific paper employed a descriptive narrative method to illustrate the provision of nursing care to patients through the nursing process approach. The general objective of this study was to understand and implement nursing care for patients with febrile seizures. Results: The nursing diagnoses identified in patients with febrile seizures were hyperthermia, risk for injury, and knowledge deficit. Nursing interventions included hyperthermia management, safety management, and health education. Conclusion: After two days of nursing implementation, two nursing diagnoses were resolved and one was partially resolved. Discharge planning included monitoring the patient's condition, particularly for seizure signs, maintaining a safe environment, educating the family about injury prevention during seizures, and encouraging family members to continuously supervise the patient.

Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi. Transmission can occur through air or food contaminated with the urine and feces of typhoid sufferers, such as air used for drinking, cooking, and washing food. Symptoms of typhoid fever include a prolonged high fever, defined as an elevated body temperature of >37.5°C. Other symptoms can include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea, and headache. This study aimed to treat children with typhoid fever. The method used was a case study of a five-year-old child with typhoid fever who was hospitalized for four days. The results showed that the child had fever, obesity, and decreased appetite. The child's problem was hypothermia, while cooling interventions were used to manage hypothermia, and one of the cooling procedures performed was the application of aloe vera compresses. The evaluation results showed that the hyperthermia resolved after four days of hospitalization. Based on this study, it is hoped that patients and their families can independently apply aloe vera compresses to treat hypothermia in children.

Beef demand in Indonesia continues to increase, particularly during religious holidays. Bali cattle, one of the main sources of beef, face a serious threat from Jembrana disease, a viral infection that compromises the immune system and causes significant economic losses. This study aimed to determine the correlation between spleen weight, body temperature, and cycle threshold (Ct) values in Bali cattle following Jembrana virus inoculation. A correlational method was applied to eight female Bali cattle injected with Jembrana virus inoculum. Physiological changes in body temperature were monitored, followed by necropsy to assess spleen weight. In addition, Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) was performed before and after inoculation to detect viral presence and determine Ct values. Data were analyzed using SPSS with Pearson correlation tests. The results revealed a very strong positive correlation between spleen weight and body temperature, while a very strong negative correlation was observed between spleen weight and Ct values. These findings indicate that Jembrana virus inoculation leads to increased body temperature and splenic enlargement in Bali cattle, accompanied by a decrease in Ct values, reflecting higher viral loads. Therefore, the administration of antipyretics, anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesics, vitamins, and antibiotics prior to vaccination is recommended to reduce the risk of hyperthermia, splenic swelling, decreased Ct values, and secondary infections.

Background: Hyperthermia happened due to the failure of thermoregulatory mechanisms. This condition is particularly dangerous in children because it may cause dehydration, seizures, impaired consciousness, and even damage to vital organs. Data from Riskesdas (2023) show that the highest prevalence of hyperthermia occurred in the 5–14 age group, at 1.9%. Parents, as the primary caregivers, play an essential role in the early detection and management of hyperthermia; therefore, their level of knowledge needs to be examined. Objective: The purpose of this study is to describe the level of parental knowledge regarding the management of hyperthermia in children aged 8–12 years in Gianyar. Methods: This research employed a descriptive quantitative design with a total sampling technique. The sample consisted of 51 parents who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a questionnaire containing 10 items on the definition of hyperthermia, methods of measuring body temperature, signs and symptoms, and management practices. The data descriptively analyzed by using  the SPSS 25 version. Result: The results showed that most respondents were aged 36–45 years (45.1%), female (54.9%), had completed senior high school education (41.2%), and were employed in the private sector (37.3%). The majority of parents’ knowledge regarding hyperthermia management in children was categorized as good (22 respondents, 43.1%), followed by fair (18 respondents, 35.3%), and poor (11 respondents, 21.6%). Conclusion: The findings indicate that most parents possess good knowledge regarding hyperthermia management; however, a portion still requires improved understanding through health education.

. Introduction Malaria is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium through the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito. In 2022, WHO recorded 249 million cases of malaria globally. In Indonesia, cases reached 418,546 in 2023, with Papua contributing 92% of the total cases. Yapen Islands Regency recorded 21,238 cases in the first semester of 2023. One of the main symptoms of malaria is hyperthermia, which if not treated immediately, can cause serious complications such as febrile seizures, impaired consciousness, and organ damage. This therapy stimulates peripheral vasodilation, which helps reduce body temperature naturally. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation and effectiveness of warm compress therapy in malaria patients with hyperthermia. The method used is a descriptive case study. This study uses a descriptive case study approach with the aim of describing the implementation of warm compress therapy as a nursing intervention in malaria patients with hyperthermia problems. The results showed a significant decrease in body temperature and increased patient comfort. The suggestion from this study is the need for education to families and health cadres about this therapy procedure. In conclusion, warm compress therapy is a simple, safe, effective nursing solution that is suitable for use in areas with limited resources. Hyperthermia treatment must be carried out quickly and precisely. An effective and practical solution is the application of warm compress therapy to certain areas of the body (forehead, armpits, groin) using water at a temperature of 37–40°C.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease caused by obligate intracellular protozoa of the genus Plasmodium. It can affect individuals of all ages, particularly those living in areas suitable for mosquito breeding. This study employed a case study design involving one adult patient diagnosed with tropical malaria and experiencing hyperthermia. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using a systematic process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Nursing care focused on managing hyperthermia through the application of warm compresses on affected areas, including the forehead, axilla, and groin. Following the intervention, the patient’s body temperature decreased from 38.2°C to within the normal range. The intervention also contributed to patient comfort, reduced chills, and improved peripheral circulation. These findings indicate that warm compresses are an effective non-pharmacological nursing intervention for reducing elevated body temperature in malaria patients, supporting thermoregulation, enhancing patient comfort, and complementing medical treatment. Implementing timely and appropriate nursing interventions can play a critical role in managing hyperthermia, minimizing complications, and promoting faster recovery in patients with malaria.
