In order to raise the standard of healthcare services in the contemporary period, digital transformation in hospital management has become a phenomena. The purpose of this study is to investigate the adoption, advantages, difficulties, and success aspects of digital transformation in healthcare facilities. A literature review employing a narrative review system was the methodology. 14 papers that met the inclusion requirements were found using data sources from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases with publication years ranging from 2020 to 2025. To determine the primary study themes, data analysis was carried out utilising a thematic synthesis approach. According to the study's findings, digital transformation can enhance operational effectiveness, service quality, and patient safety by using technology including electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, and hospital management information systems. However, there are still a number of obstacles to its adoption, such as inadequate infrastructure, inadequate human resource competency, expensive investment costs, and data security threats. Significant barriers also include a lack of system integration and opposition to change. Government policies and regulatory assistance have an impact on the success of digital transformation in hospital administration.

The development of information technology has triggered significant changes in the Indonesian healthcare system, including through the implementation of telemedicine as a key innovation. This digital health innovation requires strengthening the role of health law to ensure service quality, patient safety, and legal guarantees for healthcare workers and service providers. This paper aims to examine the function of health law in the management of national healthcare services, with a particular focus on telemedicine healthcare services, and to evaluate the suitability of its regulations in protecting patient rights. The methodology used is normative legal analysis, which involves examining various laws and regulations such as Law Number 72 of 2023 concerning Health, Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, and Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 20 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Telemedicine Services. Supporting data was obtained from reviewing national scientific journals, which discuss aspects of health law and telemedicine in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that health law functions as a mechanism to regulate service standards, protect patient rights, and oversee the accountability of healthcare workers in telemedicine practices. However, the implementation of regulations related to telemedicine still faces several obstacles.

In recent years, rapid advancements in digital technology have significantly transformed global healthcare delivery. The COVID-19 pandemic acted as a catalyst, accelerating the integration of information technology into healthcare systems, particularly through the increased adoption of telemedicine. In the field of internal medicine, which often involves long-term care and management of chronic illnesses, telemedicine presents a promising solution to enhance service accessibility, improve care efficiency, and sustain favorable clinical outcomes. This study aims to conduct a narrative review to explore the impact of telemedicine on patient clinical outcomes, healthcare worker workload, and healthcare system efficiency within internal medicine practice. The review is based on an analysis of peer-reviewed literature published between 2020 and 2025, sourced from major databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Article selection was based on relevance to the topics of telemedicine and internal medicine, contextual applicability, and full-text availability. The findings of the review reveal that telemedicine contributes positively by expanding access to care, reducing travel time and logistical barriers for patients, accelerating clinical response times, and decreasing patient congestion in healthcare facilities. These outcomes are particularly beneficial for patients with chronic conditions who require regular monitoring and consistent communication with healthcare providers. However, the implementation of telemedicine also introduces new challenges, including increased administrative responsibilities and digital workload for healthcare professionals. The study underscores the importance of equipping healthcare systems with adequate digital infrastructure, implementing supportive and flexible policies, and providing comprehensive training for healthcare workers. These measures are crucial to ensure the successful and sustainable adoption of telemedicine in internal medicine. Overall, telemedicine holds strong potential to reshape the future of internal medicine, provided that its integration is strategically managed to balance technological advancement with human-centered care.

HIS has a major role in managing health data and information applied through Electronic Medical Records (EMR). EMR facilitates the analysis of health data in patients, decision-making by health care providers, disease mapping, helps identify disease patterns, and maps the spread of the disease. HIS supports the creation of telemedicine services through the concept of telemedicine.  This study uses the Narrative Literature Review (NLR) method on the concepts of Health Information Systems (HIS) and Telemedicine. Integrating HIS and Telemedicine provides promising opportunities for healthcare improvement, offering data accessibility, and efficient remote consultation. However, addressing privacy, security, infrastructure, and regulatory challenges is critical to the successful implementation of such integrations. Collaborative efforts between healthcare providers, policymakers, and technology developers are critical to ensuring the ethical and effective implementation of integrated systems.
