The increasing spread of HIV/AIDS in Jayapura City requires immediate and sustainable preventive efforts, particularly through reproductive health education for adolescents. This program aimed to improve adolescents’ understanding of reproductive health, puberty changes, and behaviors that may increase the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission. The activity was conducted for adolescents participating in Sunday School at GKKD Buper Waena, aged between 10 and 15 years. The program was carried out in April 2025 through counseling sessions, question-and-answer activities, and focus group discussions. These approaches were chosen to provide participants with an interactive learning experience while also creating opportunities for them to share their personal experiences and perspectives related to reproductive health. A total of fifty adolescents participated enthusiastically in the activity. During the sessions, participants asked various questions that were answered directly by the speakers to clarify their understanding of reproductive health and risky behaviors. In addition, six focus group discussions were conducted to discuss participants’ personal experiences regarding puberty, friendships, dating, and behaviors such as kissing. The results of the activity indicate that reproductive health education can improve adolescents’ knowledge, awareness, and skills in maintaining personal health and avoiding behaviors that may increase the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission.

The right to privacy and the right to health are fundamental human rights that are closely interconnected. The protection of privacy for patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) constitutes a critical issue, given that HIV status is classified as highly sensitive health data and is particularly vulnerable to stigma and discrimination. In Indonesia, the legal framework governing the protection of HIV patients’ health data has been normatively strengthened through the Personal Data Protection Law and the Health Law; however, its implementation continues to face various challenges. This article aims to analyze the right to privacy of HIV patients and the obligations of the state in protecting sensitive health data, as well as to examine the limitations and exceptions to the disclosure of HIV-related data within the framework of law and human rights. This study employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and human rights-based approaches. Legal materials are analyzed qualitatively through juridical interpretation and prescriptive analysis. The findings indicate that HIV status is legally categorized as sensitive personal data that is entitled to a high level of legal protection. The state bears tripartite obligations to respect, protect, and fulfill the privacy rights of HIV patients. Nevertheless, a gap persists between legal norms and their implementation, particularly in the management of electronic medical records. The protection of HIV patients’ privacy rights requires strengthened legal implementation, regulatory harmonization, and the adoption of a human rights-based approach to ensure that data protection does not conflict with public health interests.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system. Viral load is a key indicator in monitoring HIV, where higher viral load indicates a worsening condition in the patient and can lead to the progression of the disease to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). Viral load can also predict the likelihood of opportunistic infections, which are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in individuals with HIV and AIDS. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the duration of ARV therapy and viral load in PLWHA at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang in 2025. Results: The Spearman correlation test (rₛ = -0.405; p = 0.002) shows a significant negative correlation between the duration of ARV therapy and viral load in PLWHA. The longer the patient undergoes ARV therapy, the lower the viral load. Among patients who have undergone therapy for more than 12 months, 80.43% had an undetectable viral load, while in the 6–12 month therapy group, only 33.33% had an undetectable viral load. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the duration of ARV therapy and viral load. Longer ARV therapy tends to lower viral load in PLWHA. Further research is needed to understand the factors that influence viral load and the effectiveness of ARV therapy.

HIV/AIDS is still a global health problem that impacts not only the physical condition, but also the social and emotional aspects of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), such as stigma, discrimination, anxiety and social pressure which can reduce the comfort of life. Social support plays an important role in helping PLWHA adapt to the disease, increasing treatment compliance, and maintaining a sense of comfort. This research aims to analyze the relationship between social support and comfort for PLWHA in the Semarang City Peer Support Group (KDS). The research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design through a survey method of 74 PLWHA who were actively undergoing treatment, using an accidental sampling technique. The research instruments included a social support questionnaire and a comfort questionnaire, while data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant positive relationship between social support and comfort in PLWHA (r = 0.394; p = 0.001), which indicated that the higher the social support received, the better the level of comfort felt. These findings emphasize the important role of social support as part of a holistic nursing approach, so that nurses and health workers are expected to be able to integrate social support-based interventions in an effort to increase the comfort of PLWHA.

As HIV transitions into a manageable chronic condition, optimizing lifestyle behaviors is key to achieving long-term health outcomes. This study aims to explore lifestyle behaviors in people with HIV (ODHIV) who participate in peer support groups as well as identify socioeconomic and clinical predictors of healthy lifestyle engagement. The research design was a cross-cutting analysis involving 250 ODHIV registered in a community support group. Lifestyle behavior was measured using  a modified Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II) instrument. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine independent predictors, with Nagelkerke R² and Hosmer–Lemeshow tests  to assess model suitability. The results showed that 56.2% of respondents had a healthy lifestyle. Factors of higher education (OR = 2.77; p = 0.006), older age (OR = 2.32; p = 0.015), employment status (OR = 2.00; p = 0.029), and longer duration of ART therapy (OR = 1.17 per year; p = 0.003) were significant predictors. The model explains 32% of lifestyle variations, with ART compliance and substance control as the strongest behavioral domains. These findings confirm the role of peer support groups as a behavioural reinforcement environment, but socioeconomic disparities remain influential. The integration of theory-based lifestyle interventions into community-based HIV services is necessary to optimize chronic disease outcomes.

HIV and AIDS remain a public health challenge, particularly among adolescents who are vulnerable to risky behaviors. A lack of proper understanding of HIV and AIDS, along with persistent stigma against people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA), potentially increases the risk of transmission and hinders prevention efforts. This activity aimed to improve adolescents' knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV and AIDS prevention through health education. The activity was conducted at Al-Hasra High School in Bojongsari District, Depok City, involving 25 students as participants. The method used was interactive education accompanied by pre-test and post-test evaluation. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge after the intervention, as reflected in both average scores and the proportion of students in the good knowledge category. These findings demonstrate the critical role of health education in improving adolescents' understanding of HIV and AIDS prevention. Therefore, similar education activities should be conducted continuously as promotive and preventive efforts to reduce the risk of HIV transmission from adolescence.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global public health problem and is one of the leading causes of death after HIV/AIDS. This disease has a high transmission rate, especially among children. This study aims to identify and analyze the determinants contributing to the incidence of tuberculosis in children based on previous studies. The method used was a literature review, which analyzed scientific articles related to the determinants of TB in children. Articles were searched through databases such as Google Scholar, Crossref, and Sinta using related keywords. Of the five articles that met the inclusion criteria, it was found that a history of contact with an adult TB patient was the main factor in transmission in children. Children are highly susceptible to contracting TB germs transmitted through droplets from coughing or talking. In addition, BCG immunization can provide protection against TB infection in children by developing antibodies. A scoring system was used to examine the history of contact in children at risk. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between history of contact and the incidence of TB in children. Therefore, it is important for adult TB sufferers who live with children to practice preventive behaviors, such as cough etiquette, wearing masks, and proper phlegm disposal.

Background: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) represent a global public health challenge. The increasing number of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) cases is a serious concern worldwide. A lack of education or minimal knowledge, along with risky behavior, contributes significantly to the high STI rates, particularly among the young age group. Purposes: The objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the major types of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)—namely Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, and HPV—by identifying their risk factors and determining the most effective prevention strategies. Method:The researchers employed a literature review method. The data search process was conducted systematically on Google Scholar, limiting sources only to articles available in full text and having open access. Results: The literature review concludes that the factors of knowledge, attitude, behavior, and age significantly influence an individual's risk of contracting Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Therefore, prevention efforts must be carried out comprehensively, encompassing promotive (awareness enhancement), preventive (prevention), curative (treatment), and rehabilitative (recovery) activities. Practically, this prevention must include sexual health education, adoption of safe sexual behavior, implementation of routine health checks (screening), and vaccination (specifically for Hepatitis B and HPV). Conclusion: Overall, controlling the spread of STIs requires active and collaborative roles from all parties—including the government, health workers, and the community. The main key to suppressing the spread and burden of STI diseases in the community is through improving appropriate sexual health education, improving access to health services, and periodic health screening.

Infectious diseases remain a dynamic and evolving public health threat, requiring data-driven approaches for early detection and targeted policy planning. This study aims to model spatio-temporal trends and clustering patterns of HIV transmission in Bogor Regency during the period 2020–2023 by utilizing a combination of unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques. The dataset was obtained from the Bogor Regency Health Office and includes annual data on the number of HIV cases across 40 sub-districts. The research methodology consists of data preprocessing stages, clustering using the K-Means algorithm, and classification using a Decision Tree model. The preprocessing steps include data integration, attribute selection, temporal aggregation, handling of missing data, and normalization using Z-score. K-Means clustering is applied to identify hidden patterns in the development of HIV cases, resulting in three distinct clusters based on multi-year trends. The resulting cluster labels are then used as target classes in the supervised classification process. The Decision Tree classification model demonstrates high accuracy in predicting cluster membership, indicating a strong relationship between the temporal patterns of HIV cases and cluster identity. The integration of clustering and classification techniques provides a robust analytical framework for understanding the dynamics of HIV transmission, while also supporting the formulation of more precise, evidence-based, and region-specific public health interventions.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection leading to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) remains a global public health issue, with 39 million people living with HIV worldwide in 2022. Although X Hospital in Malang City provides a comprehensive care program, internal data shows a significant level of non-adherence to antiretroviral (ARV) therapy, often in the form of irregular consumption or discontinuation of medication without medical recommendation. This observational study with a cross-sectional approach aims to identify the determinants of ARV non-adherence, involving 81 non-adherent AIDS patients at Hospital X through total sampling techniques. The characteristics of the respondents were dominated by males, highly educated, and working in the non-government sector, with the majority using the ARV regimen TLD, COTRIMOXAZOLE. The results of statistical analysis indicate that all eight determining variables tested show a highly significant positive correlation (p < 0.001) with non-compliance, meaning that the more severe the problems with these factors, the lower the patient compliance. Furthermore, the top five factors showed a very strong positive correlation (r > 0.80) with non-adherence, namely motivation/depression, social support, communication with service providers, treatment costs, and age or routine. These findings underscore that these five key determinants must be a crucial focus in designing and implementing targeted intervention strategies to effectively improve patient adherence to ARV therapy.

HIV/AIDS is a global health issue that significantly impacts adolescents, a vulnerable group prone to risky behaviors such as unprotected sexual intercourse. The lack of knowledge is a key factor contributing to the increased risk of transmission. Therefore, effective health education interventions are essential to address this problem, with one promising approach being health promotion through audiovisual media. This study aims to assess the impact of audiovisual media on improving HIV/AIDS knowledge among 11th-grade students at SMA PGRI 2 Banjarmasin. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The entire population of 112 students was selected using a total sampling technique. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that was tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, as the data were not normally distributed. Prior to the intervention, most students (85.7%) had low levels of knowledge about HIV/AIDS. Following the intervention, all students (100%) demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge, reaching a high level. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect. These findings suggest that audiovisual media is a highly effective method for improving adolescents’ knowledge about HIV/AIDS. It serves as both an engaging and preventive educational strategy, making it an important tool in promoting awareness and reducing the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission among youth.
