Complementary therapy has recently become an important issue in many countries. Its use has increased due to several factors, including personal beliefs, cost considerations, the side effects of chemical medications, and expectations of recovery. One of the complementary therapies that is often chosen is warm water foot soaking combined with foot massage. This therapy has the potential to reduce blood pressure through relaxation mechanisms and peripheral vasodilation, which have been supported by scientific evidence. This study aimed to analyze the application of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) of warm water foot soaking and foot massage therapy in hypertensive patients within nursing care. The method used was an EBP-based case study design involving three patients with hypertension. The intervention consisted of warm water foot soaking using approximately 2 liters of water at a temperature of 38–40°C combined with foot massage, administered once daily for three days. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure: Mrs. S from 170/100 mmHg to 150/80 mmHg, Mrs. L from 170/80 mmHg to 150/80 mmHg, and Mr. F from 165/90 mmHg to 130/70 mmHg. Warm water foot soaking and foot massage were effective as non-pharmacological interventions to reduce blood pressure and improve comfort in patients with hypertension. ase study design involving three patients with hypertension. Hypertension is a major factor contributing to high mortality rates and is often identified as the silent killer. Various non-pharmacological interventions have been developed to help lower blood pressure, such as the use of acupressure, herbal remedies, relaxation breathing exercises, meditation, aromatherapy, and reflexology on the soles of the feet. The focus of this study is to examine the effects of reflexology on the soles of the feet on blood pressure dynamics in individuals with hypertension in Gue Gajah Village, Darul Imarah District. The methodology applied was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design, and the data collection pattern was a single group with pre- and post-treatment measurements (one group pretest-posttest). From a total of 328 hypertensive patients in the area, 15 research participants were purposively selected as samples. The study process took place from May 2 to 28, 2025. The results of the analysis using a paired t-test showed a significant change in blood pressure between before and after the foot reflexology treatment, both in systolic pressure (p-value = 0.000; p < 0.05) and diastolic pressure (p-value = 0.000; p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be stated that foot reflexology massage therapy has an effect on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for health workers to expand the use of non-pharmacological interventions in the management of hypertension and open opportunities for further research with larger sample sizes and designs.

Post-Cesarean Section (C-Section) patients commonly experience pain caused by surgical incisions in the abdominal area. Unmanaged pain may hinder mobility, interfere with breastfeeding, reduce comfort, and negatively affect maternal psychological well-being. Non-pharmacological pain management is considered an alternative to reduce dependence on analgesics. Foot massage has been proven to improve blood circulation, stimulate endorphin release, and reduce pain intensity, while Qur’anic recitation therapy (murottal) provides psychological and spiritual relaxation that helps decrease pain perception. This study aims to examine the effect of combining foot massage and murottal therapy on pain levels in post-C-section patients at Wijaya Kusuma ward, Limpung General Hospital. The benefit of this study is expected to provide a reference for nursing practice, particularly in implementing holistic non-pharmacological interventions to enhance patient comfort. This research employed a case study design with a nursing care approach involving four post-C-section patients. Interventions included a scheduled combination of foot massage and murottal therapy. Pain levels were measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing pain levels before and after intervention. The results showed a reduction in pain intensity from moderate to mild after the combination intervention. Patients also reported increased comfort, improved rest, and reduced anxiety. In conclusion, the combination of foot massage and murottal therapy effectively reduces pain in post-C-section patients. This intervention can be recommended as a non-pharmacological method in nursing care for post-C-section patients.

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain that is often found in the population aged 40-60 years, especially women with prolonged standing activities and high body mass index. This case report discusses physiotherapy management in a 41-year-old female patient with plantar fasciitis dextra who underwent therapy at Panembahan Senopati Hospital. The physiotherapy interventions provided included ultrasound, gastrocnemius muscle massage, stretching (Towel Stretch), and exercises (Calf Raise and Towel Toe Curl) for three sessions in three weeks. Evaluation was performed using Wong Baker Scale, Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), Goniometer, and Foot and Ankle Disability Index (FADI). The results showed a decrease in tenderness and pain during movement, increased plantar fascia flexibility, and an increase in FADI score from 63.28% to 77.88%, indicating improved function. Physiotherapy interventions proved to be effective in managing plantar fasciitis symptoms conservatively and improving the patient's quality of life.

Introduction: Hypertension is a chronic condition in which blood vessel walls experience increased blood pressure, requiring a faster heart rate to pump blood throughout the body. The presence of hypertension influences changes in the results of mean arterial pressure, if the mean arterial pressure is more than 100 mmHg it can cause cerebral circulation disorders resulting in cerebral vascular resistance in hypertensive patients. One non-pharmacological effort to overcome and reduce MAP can be done by providing foot massage therapy. Method: This type of research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental one group pre-post test design approach. The instruments used by researchers were a digital spygmomanometer and observation sheet. Results: Descriptive statistical results showed that the average MAP value before giving a foot massage was 112.49 mmHg and the average MAP after giving a foot massage was 108.43 mmHg. Conclusion: The results of the Wilcoxon sign rank test, a non-parametric statistical test, obtained a p value of 0.000 (? = 0.05). So that p < a, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is approved, this shows that foot massage therapy can influence the results of mean arterial pressure in elderly hypertensive patients in the Kalijati Health Center working area. This research is expected to provide initial information by carrying out foot massage therapy 6 times in 6 consecutive days as an effort to control hypertension and reduce mean arterial pressure (MAP) results.

Complications such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and heart failure can arise as a result of hypertension as a long-standing disease. Foot massage can help lower blood pressure and dilate blood vessels, reducing complications of hypertension. The aim of EBPN is to analyze the application of Evidence Based Practice Nursing (EBPN) foot massage therapy in hypertensive patients. The method for implementing EBPN through case studies uses a descriptive method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach to foot massage therapy (3 times for 15 minutes in 3 consecutive days) to reduce blood pressure. The sample consisted of 1 female respondent and 2 male respondents. The tensimeter and observation sheet are the measuring tools used. EBPN results: All 3 (100%) respondents had suffered from hypertension for > 5 years. There was a change in blood pressure before and after the intervention with the results: respondent 1 BP 139/85 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg, respondent 2 BP 139/88 mmHg to BP 130/82 mmHg, and respondent 3 BP 147/97 mmHg to BP 138/89 mmHg. The average decrease in systolic blood pressure in the 3 respondents was 8.5 mmHg, while diastole decreased by an average of 5.8 mmHg. The suggestion for hypertension sufferers is that hospital staff can offer foot massage as a method to lower blood pressure to patients suffering from hypertension.
