Zakat is a key instrument in the Islamic economic system, functioning as a mechanism for income redistribution and poverty alleviation. However, zakat management at the level of mosque-based Zakat Collection Units (Unit Pengumpul Zakat/UPZ) still faces significant challenges, particularly in terms of managerial capacity, administrative systems, and institutional governance. This community service project aims to optimize the collection and distribution of zakat through capacity building of the UPZ management at Al-Hidayah Mosque, Mandailing Natal. The study employed a participatory approach consisting of observation, joint planning, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and structured questionnaires administered through pre-test and post-test to measure participants’ knowledge improvement. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive comparative method to assess changes before and after the intervention. The results indicate a significant improvement in the managerial capacity of UPZ administrators, as reflected by an increase in the average score from 55% in the pre-test to 80% in the post-test. In addition, improvements were observed in zakat management practices, including the establishment of simple financial recording systems, the development of a structured database of donors (muzakki) and beneficiaries (mustahik), and enhanced transparency and accountability. Qualitatively, the program also fostered behavioral change among administrators, the emergence of local leadership, and increased public trust in the UPZ. This study concludes that participatory-based socialization, training, and mentoring are effective in strengthening institutional capacity and optimizing zakat management at the grassroots level. The findings highlight the importance of governance and capacity building in enhancing the effectiveness of community-based zakat institutions.

The main problems faced by farmers are limited knowledge of financial management, lack of systematic bookkeeping, and inability to evaluate the profitability of their businesses, which often results in inaccurate decision-making and low competitiveness. The method applied included participatory training, mentoring, and simulation of financial records and feasibility analysis. The results of the program demonstrate that participants gained a better understanding of the importance of structured financial recording. Farmers who previously relied only on sales revenue calculations without considering fixed and variable costs are now able to prepare cash books, identify expenses, and evaluate profit margins accurately. This study aims to explore the potential of Ajung Village, Kalisat District, Jember Regency, through an analysis of the management planning of a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) as an instrument of development and community empowerment. Although Ajung Village has significant economic potential, particularly in the agricultural sector, micro-enterprises, and other local economic activities, BUMDes management is still not optimal. This is evident in the lack of a directed business plan, weak coordination between administrators, and minimal evaluation of the business units being run. This study also assesses the role of the village government in supporting BUMDes development and the extent to which community participation can drive the effectiveness of existing programs. Using qualitative descriptive methods through interviews with the village government, BUMDes administrators, and the community, the results show that although community participation is relatively high, the managerial capacity of the administrators remains a major challenge. Lack of training, understanding of financial governance, and the lack of potential mapping have prevented the village BUMDes from functioning optimally as a driver of the village economy. Therefore, this study designs strategies to increase the effectiveness of BUMDes by strengthening the capacity of administrators, optimizing local potential, and synergizing the village government with the community.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting regional economic growth, job creation, and equitable distribution of community welfare. In Cilegon City, MSMEs are growing rapidly in various sectors, but still face a number of fundamental challenges. The main problems faced include limited access to capital, low utilization of digital technology in business activities, limited managerial capacity, and less than optimal regulatory support oriented towards strengthening MSMEs. These conditions cause the competitiveness of MSMEs to be relatively weak compared to the large business sector, so that their contribution to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Cilegon City is not optimal. This study aims to analyze policy strategies that can support the development of MSMEs in Cilegon City through a descriptive qualitative approach. The method used is a literature study and policy analysis by examining regulations, local government policies, and relevant previous research results. The analysis results show that there are several strategies that can be implemented, including: strengthening regulations and policies that favor MSMEs, expanding access to financing through collaboration with financial and banking institutions, developing human resource capacity through entrepreneurship and business management training, utilizing digital technology to expand market access, and building synergies between local governments, the private sector, and other supporting institutions. The implementation of these strategies is expected to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs, expand marketing networks, and encourage MSMEs to be more adaptive to technological developments and market needs. Thus, MSMEs in Cilegon City can make a more significant contribution to regional economic growth, create new jobs, and support sustainable economic development.

This study aims to determine and analyze the potential and challenges of culinary businesses, the implementation of digitalization and halal certification, and the development of an effective and sustainable model for the "Resto Apung" culinary business to support food economic independence in coastal villages. The research was conducted at "Resto Apung" using a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and focus group discussions. The findings show that the "Resto Apung" business holds significant potential as a culinary destination with a strong attraction due to its unique location and menu offerings based on local marine products. However, several challenges hinder its development, including low digital literacy among business managers, lack of structured and professional management systems, and the absence of halal certification which is crucial in targeting broader Muslim consumer segments. Currently, digitalization has only been applied in the marketing aspect, primarily through social media, while other aspects such as financial management, customer service, and operational processes are still managed conventionally. Nevertheless, the managers have shown awareness and initiatives to improve, especially in recognizing halal certification as a strategic competitive advantage. The proposed development model integrates digitalization into all aspects of business management, enhances human resource capacity through technical and managerial training, and includes efforts to obtain halal certification. This holistic approach is expected to increase the competitiveness of the culinary business, optimize local potential, and ultimately contribute to the achievement of food economic independence in coastal areas.

The activities are designed with the real needs of business actors in mind, both in terms of technical business management skills and strengthening business ethics values. Assistance in financial recording practices is carried out using the financial records application v1.1, which is designed to facilitate recording daily transactions, tracking production costs, and simple profit and loss analysis. A special contemplation session is also held to foster awareness of ethics and spirituality in entrepreneurship, including the importance of honesty, social responsibility, and sincere intentions in running a business. The program is evaluated through a 20-question digital quiz taken by all participants. The evaluation results show a significant increase in the understanding of basic management concepts, cash flow recording skills, and a responsible attitude in managing the business. These findings confirm that a values-based training approach combined with hands-on practice can effectively strengthen the foundations of MSME sustainability, both in terms of operational performance and moral resilience. Given the positive results, this program is recommended for replication in other regions with similar business characteristics. Continued support from local governments, educational institutions, and business partners is essential to expand the program's impact, ensure business sustainability, and foster competitive and integrated community-based economic growth.

This Community Service activity aims to increase the capacity of women farmer groups (KWT) in developing human resources (HR) in the agricultural sector. KWT plays a crucial role as agents of change in improving food security and family welfare. However, limited knowledge, managerial skills, and access to technology are often major obstacles. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study technique. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with KWT members.
