Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study investigates the differences in customer satisfaction levels toward the services of Bank Syariah Indonesia by employing a nonparametric statistical approach. Customer satisfaction is a critical benchmark in Islamic banking, as it not only reflects the quality of services but also the extent to which sharia compliance is embedded in financial practices. Given that satisfaction data are generally ordinal and may not fulfill the assumptions of normal distribution, nonparametric methods such as the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests were selected as the primary analytical tools. This research adopts a qualitative library-based method by reviewing relevant literature, scientific articles, and previous empirical studies to construct a comprehensive understanding of customer satisfaction measurement within Islamic banking. The findings highlight that variations in satisfaction are influenced by multiple factors, including service speed, staff friendliness, accessibility of digital platforms, and clarity of sharia principles applied in daily operations. Results further suggest that demographic characteristics and service usage frequency significantly shape satisfaction differences across customer groups. Theoretically, this study enriches the body of knowledge on the application of nonparametric statistics in Islamic banking research, while practically, it provides actionable insights for Bank Syariah Indonesia in formulating adaptive service strategies. These contributions are expected to assist the bank in strengthening customer loyalty, enhancing competitiveness, and sustaining growth in the dynamic modern banking industry. This study aims to compare the financial performance of Islamic banks and conventional banks operating in Jambi Province during the 2021–2023 period. The approach used is comparative quantitative, with descriptive analysis and independent sample t-tests. Five key financial ratios were analyzed in this study: Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). Data were obtained from the quarterly financial reports of each sample bank, thus reflecting actual financial performance on a periodic and ongoing basis. The analysis shows significant differences in three key financial ratios: ROA, ROE, and BOPO. Conventional banks demonstrate higher levels of profitability and operational efficiency than Islamic banks. High ROA and ROE values reflect the effectiveness of conventional banks in generating profits from their assets and capital. Furthermore, lower BOPO ratios in conventional banks indicate a better ability to control operating costs. In contrast, no significant differences were found in the NIM and LDR ratios, indicating equality between the two types of banks in generating interest margins and disbursing credit or financing to customers. This finding has important implications for the development of the Islamic banking sector to be more competitive, particularly in terms of efficiency and profitability. Islamic banks are expected to improve their asset and operational management strategies to increase competitiveness amidst the dual banking system in Indonesia. This research also contributes to regulators in formulating policies that support the growth of Islamic banks in the regions. For academics and practitioners, this study broadens understanding of the dynamics of local banking financial performance and serves as a reference for further research on the effectiveness of the dual banking system in the regional context.

This research uses a qualitative method to explore the role of digital marketing skills in enhancing the competitiveness of Islamic banking institutions in the era of digital transformation. The rapid development of information technology requires financial institutions, including Islamic banks, to adapt to digital-based marketing strategies to remain competitive in the market. Digital marketing skills such as social media management, search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, and digital data analysis have become essential in effectively reaching customers and building strong brand awareness. This study was conducted through in-depth interviews with Islamic banking practitioners and analysis of documentation related to digital marketing strategies. The findings reveal that mastering digital marketing skills significantly helps Islamic banking institutions expand their market reach, improve customer engagement, and strengthen their competitive position in the financial industry. Moreover, the proper implementation of digital marketing also enhances promotional cost efficiency and encourages product and service innovation based on customer needs. These findings serve as a vital reference in developing more relevant Islamic marketing strategies for the current era.

This research discusses the application of McKinsey's 7S model in increasing profitability at PT BPRS Karya Mugi Sentosa Surabaya. McKinsey's 7S model consists of seven main elements: strategy, organizational structure, operational system, leadership style, staffing, skills, and shared values. The research used a qualitative approach with direct observation methods, structured interviews, and in-depth data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the model. The results showed that the harmonization of the elements of McKinsey's 7S model contributed significantly to improving profitability, reflected in the increase in assets, growth in the number of customers, and stability of financial statements over the past five years. However, challenges such as HR adaptation to the new strategy and consistency of implementation are concerns that need to be addressed.
