This study examines the implementation of religious freedom in Indonesia, focusing on the case of the sealing of the POUK Tesalonika House of Prayer in Teluknaga, Tangerang Regency, in April 2026. This incident reflects the tension between administrative regulations, specifically the Building Permit, and the constitutional right to freedom of religion as guaranteed in Article 28E and Article 29(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. This study employs a normative legal method with legislative, conceptual, and case-based approaches. The analysis reveals that the sealing action fails to meet the principle of proportionality in administrative law, and results in legal discrimination that contradicts the principle of equality before the law and the spirit of Pancasila. These findings affirm that the right to worship is a non-derogable right that cannot be diminished by technical permitting regulations. Therefore, the state must prioritize a facilitative and protective approach in regulating places of worship, to guarantee freedom of religion and uphold Indonesia’s integrity as a democratic and tolerant rule of law state.

This study aims to examine the implementation of the selapanan tradition among Javanese postpartum women in Limau Manis Village, and to understand the meaning and community perceptions of this practice in the context of modern life. The selapanan tradition is part of local wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation and has important value in postpartum maternal care. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, which allows researchers to understand cultural practices in depth through direct interaction with the community. Data collection techniques include participant observation, in-depth interviews with mothers who practice the tradition, community leaders, and traditional birth attendants, as well as documentation and field notes. The results show that selapanan is still preserved and practiced by the people of Limau Manis Village, although it has undergone several forms of adaptation to modern developments and modern medical guidelines. In its implementation, this tradition uses various natural ingredients such as parem (traditional body scrub), pilis (forehead concoction to refresh the eyes and mind), bengkungan (cloth to wrap the stomach), gerita (a kind of stagen or body binder), and the consumption of herbal medicine as part of physical care and body recovery. In addition to its physical aspects, selapanan also has a psychological dimension, providing emotional comfort and social support to postpartum mothers, thereby helping to prevent psychological disorders such as baby blues syndrome. This tradition serves not only as a form of traditional healthcare but also as a symbol of social solidarity and respect for local cultural values. Amidst the tide of modernization, preserving selapanan is crucial as a cultural identity that remains relevant. This study concludes that despite adjustments to medical developments, the selapanan tradition continues to play a significant role in maintaining maternal well-being and strengthening Javanese cultural values in the modern era.

Communication, as a fundamental social need, plays a crucial role in building relationships and understanding emotions. In the context of intercultural communication, differences in social and cultural backgrounds can trigger stereotypes that negatively affect interactions. To understand the perspectives of Javanese students in forming stereotypes about the Madurese, this research applies Standpoint Theory, which emphasizes that a person’s viewpoint is shaped by their social position and life experiences. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological paradigm, collecting data through in-depth interviews and observation. The findings reveal that Javanese students tend to perceive Madurese people as speaking harshly, although some acknowledge that such perceptions do not represent the entire ethnic group. This study aims to determine the crime of genocide experienced when viewed in International Law and how to resolve disputes over crimes of genocide under international law. This research uses doctrinal or juridical normative research. Sources of legal information use primary legal materials (regulations and related documents) for further qualitative analysis. Ethnic and cultural diversity in modern society has become increasingly complex due to the influences of globalization, urbanization, and migration, resulting in multicultural communities. This diversity, while offering opportunities for mutual understanding, often gives rise to tensions, prejudices, and even conflicts between groups, especially when cultural identities are contested. In such circumstances, religion plays a significant role as a social pillar that can embrace differences. However, if applied exclusively, religion also has the potential to become a source of conflict. Therefore, inclusive theology, which prioritizes acceptance of differences without compromising religious teachings, becomes a relevant solution to bridge these tensions. Inclusive theology not only encourages intercultural dialogue but also promotes peace and solidarity by emphasizing love, tolerance, and respect for the dignity of every individual. In the context of the church, inclusive theology serves as an agent of peace actively addressing issues of ethnic discrimination and cultural injustice. This study aims to explore the application of inclusive theology in responding to ethnic and cultural conflicts in multicultural societies, using a qualitative approach and Ricoeur's hermeneutic analysis. It is expected that this research will contribute to fostering harmony and reconciliation amidst existing diversity.

Racial discrimination and violence against minority communities is prohibited by law, and the protection of minority groups is guaranteed by the Constitution, national laws, as well as international laws or conventions ratified by Indonesia, such as the ICCPR and ICERD. However, cases of violence involving ethnic Papuans are often ignored by the state, even though this is a violation of human rights. This research will use a normative juridical approach by presenting and analyzing the validity of statutory provisions. The socio-legal study in this research will be carried out by analyzing social studies, multidisciplinary social science theories related to the phenomenon of racial discrimination against ethnic Papuans, such as psychology in looking at prejudice and discrimination; Communication Studies; Social Integration and Disintegration Theory; and Social Conflict Theory. The aim of this research is to examine law enforcement using a social science paradigm. This research will review the quality of law enforcement, the extent to which these rules are enforced, and the extent to which law enforcement and the government can fulfill citizens' rights not to be discriminated against. This research shows that discrimination against the Papuan people is caused by racial discrimination in various aspects, including economics, politics, education and law enforcement. The application of anti- discrimination laws must be based on the professionalism of law enforcement officials so as not to give rise to new discrimination in law enforcement. This research recommends that the Indonesian Government increase political will in enforcing anti-discrimination and violence laws in all cases, especially against the Papuan ethnic group. Maximum anti-discrimination law enforcement efforts are needed to realize human rights goals, namely the provision, enforcement and protection of human rights.

Article 244 of the latest Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) prohibits racial and ethnic discrimination. However, its implementation is still subject to debate. This research aims to analyze the hadith perspective on Article 244 of the new Criminal Code regarding racial and ethnic discrimination. This research uses qualitative methods with a text analysis approach. Information is collected from hadith books and other related literature. Information is analyzed using deductive and inductive methods. The research results show that the hadith has a perspective that is in line with Article 244 of the new Criminal Code regarding racial and ethnic discrimination. These hadiths teach that all humans are equal before Allah SWT, and there should be no discrimination based on race or ethnicity. This research recommends that the new interpretation of Article 244 of the Criminal Code considers the hadith perspective. This is important to ensure that the application of this article does not violate the principles of justice and equality.

By enacting legislation to protect, maintain and monitor the importance of human rights. Discrimination refers to unfair or unequal treatment of a person or group based on certain characteristics.Such as injustice regarding race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability. This usually occurs in environments such as education, health services, residence and in social interactions. Ethnic discrimination occurs when individuals or groups are judged based on their ethnic origin, which includes cultural identity, language, or national origin. This ethnic discrimination can lead to unequal treatment in terms of economic opportunities, access to health services, or unfair treatment by related institutions. In Indonesia, racial and ethnic discrimination is also a problem faced, although in a different context from other countries. Even though Indonesia has rich cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity, there are still challenges in ensuring fair treatment for all citizens. Several ethnic minority groups in Indonesia may face various obstacles in terms of access to quality education, decent work and adequate health services.
