Factual verification of political party membership constitutes a critical administrative stage in electoral management, as it directly affects electoral integrity and democratic legitimacy. In Indonesia, this process remains predominantly reliant on conventional door-to-door verification methods, which face structural constraints including time limitations, excessive administrative burden, high costs, and vulnerability to procedural errors and electoral disputes. Meanwhile, the advancement of e-government and Electronic-Based Government Systems (E-Government) has created opportunities to adopt more accountable and verifiable digital identity mechanisms. This study aims to conceptualize and examine Electronic Know Your Customer (E-KYC) as an administrative governance model for verifying political party membership to strengthen electoral integrity within an e-government framework. Employing a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, quantitative data were collected through a survey of 44 election officials at district and municipal election commissions in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key institutional actors. The findings demonstrate a positive and significant relationship between the adoption of E-KYC and strengthened administrative electoral integrity, democratic public service values, and institutional readiness. Qualitative evidence further indicates that challenges to electoral integrity stem primarily from weaknesses in administrative procedures rather than from political contestation itself. This study concludes that E-KYC should be positioned not merely as a technological innovation but as an institutionalized administrative governance model, contingent upon regulatory clarity, system interoperability, and organizational capacity building.

Information security incidents within government institutions have become a critical issue due to their potential impact on public trust and socio-economic stability. This study examines the social and economic impacts of information security incidents at the General Election Commission (KPU) of Jambi Province. The research aims to identify the types of security incidents that occurred, analyze their social and economic consequences, and evaluate mitigation efforts implemented by the institution. This study employs a qualitative case study approach, using data collection techniques including document analysis, media reports, and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that information security incidents significantly affect public trust in electoral institutions, increase public anxiety regarding personal data protection, and generate additional economic costs related to system recovery, security enhancement, and administrative delays. Furthermore, the incidents also indirectly affect voter participation and institutional reputation. The study highlights the importance of strengthening information security governance, improving human resource awareness, and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of more resilient information security policies in public sector institutions, particularly in electoral management bodies.

This study examines the integrity of general elections through the lens of prophetic journalism. A qualitative approach was employed to explore the perspectives and experiences of institutional administrators, community leaders, and local residents regarding electoral integrity grounded in prophetic journalism. This approach emphasizes the importance of relationships among various actors in the public policy process, including government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. The research was conducted at the East Java Provincial General Election Commission (KPU), with data collected directly by the researcher through observation of words and actions. Data collection was carried out holistically and integratively, focusing on relevance to the study objectives. Data analysis involved systematically searching, organizing, and processing all interview transcripts while ensuring validity through careful verification procedures. The results indicate that electoral integrity can be maintained effectively through a combination of deliberative democracy and prophetic journalism. In this context, the media functions not only as an information distributor but also as a moral agent ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness throughout the electoral process. Campaigns to validate and counter hoax news during elections are most effective when prophetic journalism is integrated with agenda-setting theory, allowing the media to shape public perception through information filtering, digital literacy education, and the delivery of objective and ethical reporting. Prophetic journalism also serves as a social control mechanism, reinforcing transparency and oversight by combining the press’s watchdog function with principles of honesty, responsibility, and wisdom, preventing electoral manipulation and safeguarding democratic integrity.

Socialization in regional head elections is a strategy that includes the dissemination of information and materials that can raise voter awareness, especially among the younger generation which is currently dominated by Generation Z. Therefore, this study aims to determine the strategy for socializing regional head elections for generation z by the Tanjungpinang City General Election Commission in 2024. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with a case study approach. This study uses the theory of socialization proposed by Michael Rush and Philip Althoff, with theory indicators, namely socialization agents, socialization materials, socialization mechanisms, and socialization patterns. The findings of researchers from the strategy for socializing regional head elections carried out by the Tanjungpinang City KPU are quite good because the Tanjungpinang City KPU has carried out its role as an election organizer with several socialization activities. (1) socialization agents, as KPU agents carry out their roles and contribute to socialization activities, but do not involve Generation Z in them enough (2) socialization materials, the materials provided by the KPU are easy to accept and interesting according to Generation Z. (3) socialization mechanism, generation z considers the mechanism implemented by the Tanjungpinang City KPU to be quite good (4) the socialization pattern has sufficiently influenced generation z in their understanding of elections.

Elections serve as a crucial pillar of democracy, allowing citizens to participate in the selection of leaders and shaping national policies. In Indonesia, the General Election Commission (KPU) is responsible for organizing elections, ensuring that the process is transparent, fair, and accountable. Understanding public perceptions of the KPU's performance is vital for evaluating the success and legitimacy of the democratic process, particularly in regions like Benowo District, Surabaya, which reflects the broader dynamics of local democracy. This study employs a qualitative methodology to explore and interpret the views and experiences of the public regarding the KPU's performance in the 2024 Election. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with community leaders and direct observation of the election process. The qualitative approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of the complex and nuanced perceptions held by the community. The findings reveal that the public in Benowo District generally holds a positive perception of the KPU's performance, appreciating the orderliness, transparency, and efficiency of the electoral process. However, challenges such as logistics management were identified, indicating areas where the KPU can improve in future elections. These insights are crucial for enhancing the quality of electoral administration and strengthening the democratic process in Indonesia.
