Lead (Pb²⁺) is a hazardous heavy metal commonly found in industrial wastewater and poses serious risks to human health and the environment due to its toxic and non-biodegradable nature. Therefore, an effective and environmentally friendly treatment method is required to reduce Pb²⁺ concentration in wastewater. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pH and initial Pb²⁺ concentration on the adsorption capacity of ramie leaf (Boehmeria nivea) bioadsorbent activated with NaOH. The adsorption process was conducted using a batch system with pH variations of 4, 5, and 7 and initial Pb²⁺ concentrations of 20, 25, and 30 mg/L. The residual Pb²⁺ concentration was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS), and the adsorption performance was evaluated based on removal efficiency and adsorption capacity (Qe). The results showed that pH and initial Pb²⁺ concentration significantly affected the adsorption performance. The optimum adsorption condition was obtained at pH 5, with a maximum removal efficiency of 99.20% and a total adsorption capacity of 18.56 mg/g. The increase in pH from 4 to 5 enhanced adsorption performance due to reduced competition between H⁺ and Pb²⁺ ions for active sites on the adsorbent surface. Increasing the initial Pb²⁺ concentration tended to increase adsorption capacity, although removal efficiency remained relatively stable due to the limited number of active adsorption sites. The Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) values ranged from 1.56% to 3.37%, indicating good precision and repeatability of the experimental data. These findings demonstrate that NaOH-activated ramie leaves have considerable potential as an effective, low-cost, and environmentally friendly bioadsorbent for Pb²⁺ removal from wastewater.

Road improvement projects require consistency between technical planning documents and field implementation to ensure that service quality, structural performance, construction time, and user safety are achieved. This article evaluates the conformity between planning and realization in the Pangkalan-Batas Jambi road improvement project in Rawas Ulu District, North Musi Rawas Regency. The study used a descriptive-quantitative evaluative approach based on field monitoring, project technical documents, comparative quantity analysis between contract and Contract Change Order (CCO), and identification of implementation constraints. The results showed that several work items changed during construction because initial planning data did not fully capture actual field conditions. Quantities increased for drainage excavation (+18.87%), roadbed preparation (+8.99%), aggregate class A base course (+12.51%), and AC-Base (+11.98%). Conversely, reinforced pipe culverts decreased (-58.33%), unsealed aggregate base/sirtu decreased (-43.50%), and tack/prime coat volume slightly decreased (-0.47%). The time schedule showed a minor delay of -0.13% in the first week but recovered in the second week, indicating effective field coordination. Main constraints included traffic interference, limited worker visibility, and equipment visibility. The study recommends more detailed site surveys during planning, stronger traffic management, stricter occupational safety implementation, systematic progress control, and routine post-construction maintenance to maintain road service life.

This study analyzes the abuse of prosecutorial authority from a normative juridical perspective within constitutional law and its implications for the rule of law and good governance in Indonesia. It focuses on the concept of abuse of power (détournement de pouvoir) in assessing prosecutorial actions and examines power relations in law enforcement that may affect objectivity and fairness in criminal justice. The research uses a normative juridical method with statute and case approaches. Primary legal materials include the 1945 Constitution, Law No. 16 of 2004 on the Prosecutor’s Office as amended by Law No. 11 of 2021, and Law No. 30 of 2014 on Government Administration, supported by doctrines and jurisprudence. Secondary materials include books and journals on constitutional and administrative law. The findings show that prosecutorial authority as dominus litis is limited by legality, good governance principles, and due process of law. Abuse of authority may occur not only through procedural violations but also through deviations from its intended purpose, leading to formally lawful but substantively unjust actions. Power relations may also create institutional imbalance in law enforcement. Therefore, stronger supervisory mechanisms are needed to ensure prosecutorial authority aligns with the rule of law and good governance.

This article examines the moral philosophy of Saint Augustine, focusing on the concept of free will and its implications for human sinful actions. The study aims to provide a philosophical and theological understanding of Augustine’s concept of free will and to analyze its correlation with human acts of sin. Augustine conceives of free will as a rational capacity inherent in human beings, enabling them to make conscious choices. In its essence, this freedom is oriented toward the good. However, due to the fallen condition of humanity, the will becomes disordered and is directed toward things that are lower than the highest good. Therefore, there exists an inherent correlation between free will and sinful action, wherein sin is understood as the manifestation of a misused will. Accordingly, the thought of Saint Augustine of Hippo affirms that free will is an essential gift that enables human beings to make conscious choices, including the choice to commit sin. Free will does not stand apart from moral reality; rather, it serves as the foundation for explaining that sin occurs as a result of the deviation of the human will from the highest good, namely God. Thus, it can be asserted that there is a clear, close, and inseparable correlation between Augustine’s concept of free will and human sinful action.

Abstract: Detecting chili leaf diseases remains challenging due to the non-uniform manifestation of symptoms, local discoloration, small lesion regions, and visual similarity between disease patterns and natural leaf background variations. Although YOLO-based detectors provide favorable computational efficiency, lightweight variants often struggle to distinguish subtle lesion characteristics, while conventional attention mechanisms such as CBAM primarily rely on global feature aggregation and may overlook regional activation variability. To address these limitations, this study proposes a YOLOv9s-based detection framework integrated with a Region-Dispersion Channel Spatial Attention (RDCSA) module. The proposed module incorporates regional dispersion statistics, namely mean, standard deviation, and range, as channel descriptors to capture inter-region feature variability before applying spatial attention refinement. Experiments were conducted on the COLD dataset containing 532 original images from five chili leaf condition categories using a split-before-augmentation protocol to ensure objective evaluation. RDCSA was integrated at the P5 feature level and evaluated through attention placement analysis, component-wise ablation, sensitivity analysis, stability assessment, and comparison with modern attention mechanisms. The proposed YOLOv9s + RDCSA model achieved an mAP@50 of 0.894, mAP@50–95 of 0.773, precision of 0.858, recall of 0.861, and an F1-score of 0.859 with only a marginal increase in model parameters. The results suggest that regional dispersion-based attention improves feature discrimination while preserving computational efficiency, particularly for disease symptoms characterized by heterogeneous spatial patterns. Nevertheless, performance remains influenced by visually ambiguous symptom categories, indicating that further validation across multiple datasets and field conditions is required. Overall, the proposed RDCSA module enhances detection capability without substantially increasing computational overhead, making it a promising attention mechanism for lightweight plant disease detection systems.

The increasing complexity of urban transportation systems demands intelligent and measurable navigation methods. Medan City, the capital of North Sumatra Province, has a dense road network with multiple route options that often confuse road users. Dijkstra's Algorithm, developed by Edsger Wybe Dijkstra in 1959, is a greedy-based computational approach proven effective for solving the shortest path problem on non-negative weighted graphs. This study applies Dijkstra's Algorithm to determine the shortest route from Medan Railway Station to Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). The road network was modeled as an undirected weighted graph with 15 nodes and 16 edges, where edge weights represent actual road distances measured via Google Maps. The graph has a density of 0.152, confirming its sparse graph characteristic. Three alternative routes were identified and analyzed. The algorithm was implemented in Python 3 using the heapq module as a priority queue. Results show that the optimal route is A → B → C → E → F → M → N → O via Jl. M.T. Haryono, Jl. Aipda KS Tubun, Jl. Madong Lubis, and Jl. Prof. H.M. Yamin, with a total distance of 6.64 km. This achieves 99.1% accuracy compared to Google Maps, with a deviation of only 0.06 km. The optimal route is 6.25% more efficient than Alternative Route 1 (7.30 km) and 11.9% more efficient than Alternative Route 2 (7.54 km). The algorithm executes in under 1 millisecond with time complexity O((V+E) log V). These findings confirm Dijkstra's Algorithm as highly effective for medium-scale urban road network optimization.

The book on the City of God and the City of Man is a masterpiece by St. Augustine that is very influential in the history of philosophy and theology. This book contains the background of Augustine's philosophical and theological reflections on the accusation of the destruction of the Roman Empire against Christianity. The City of God described in Augustine's perspective is a city that prioritizes love for God. While the City of Man is a city that reflects self-love. The implications of both types of cities in Augustine's perspective are very relevant to be discussed in the discourse on the concept of statehood. This paper also aims to analyze the relationship between democracy and capitalism in the perspective of Augustine of Hippo's thought, especially through the concept of civitas Dei (City of God) and civitas terrena (World City). This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. The results of this study show that democracy and capitalism, although providing space for freedom, are vulnerable to deviations when not guided by the correct moral orientation. In light of Augustine's thought, the crisis in modern democracy such as; Money politics, media manipulation, and anarchic demonstrations reflect the dominance of self-love (amor sui) that characterizes the civitas terrena. Therefore, democracy can only operate fairly if it is rooted in moral values that lead to the common good (Bonum communae).

Blast hole drilling is an initial stage that plays a critical role in determining the success of blasting activities in mining and construction operations. Drilling quality directly affects rock fragmentation, drilling equipment efficiency, drilling equipment productivity, as well as blasting safety and costs. This study aims to analyze the influence of drilling parameters on blast hole quality, including hole diameter, drilling depth, hole inclination, and the suitability of drilling patterns with respect to the planned blasting design. The research methodology involves field observations, actual measurements of drill holes, and analysis of data obtained from drilling and blasting productivity. The results show that deviations in hole depth and direction can lead to irregular distribution of blasting energy, resulting in suboptimal rock fragmentation and an increased potential for flyrock and overbreak. In addition, the selection of appropriate drilling methods and equipment based on rock mass characteristics has been proven to improve productivity and blast hole quality. Therefore, controlling drilling parameters and implementing proper operational procedures are essential to enhance the overall effectiveness and productivity of blasting activities. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the planning and evaluation of blast hole drilling activities to achieve more efficient, safe, and economical operations.

The coal mining industry requires accurate stockpile volume measurements for inventory and production reporting. Conventional methods have limitations in accuracy, efficiency, and safety. This study compares the accuracy and efficiency of coal stockpile volume measurements using a Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) Leica MS60 and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) DJI Matrice 4E, validated by the ASTM D6172-98 standard. Conducted on five Run of Mine (ROM) coal stockpiles covering 13,500 m² at PT XYZ, Lahat, South Sumatra, the TLS method used 43 scan positions, while the UAV employed 430 aerial images with specific flight parameters. Data were processed using Leica Infinity, Surpac, and Agisoft Metashape. The results showed volumes of 94,076 m³ (TLS) and 94,965 m³ (UAV), with a difference of 889 m³ (0.95%). Volume deviations ranged from 0.48% to 1.89%, with an average of 1.42%, all within the ASTM tolerance (<2%). Time efficiency analysis revealed that the UAV method required 200 minutes (3.33 hours), saving 63.3% (approximately 6.17 hours) compared to the TLS method (570 minutes). The largest efficiency gain occurred during field data acquisition, with an 85% reduction in time. This study confirms UAV photogrammetry as a valid, accurate, and efficient alternative for coal stockpile volume measurement in mining.

Indonesia is in an earthquake-prone region, therefore, designing building constructions that can withstand seismic loads is crucial in civil engineering. Reinforced concrete shear walls are one of the vertical structural fundamentals that are effectively used in multi-story buildings to withstand lateral forces due to earthquake and wind loads. Structures that use shear walls can increase stiffness and reduce horizontal deviations (deflections) of buildings, which contribute to the stability and safety of structures based on the SNI 1726:2019 standard. This study aims to analyze the effect of shear wall configurations on deviation and torsion requirements in multi-story building planning. The study object is a 6-story reinforced concrete building model in a specific earthquake zone. The design and modeling were performed using structural analysis software, taking into account columns, beams, slabs, and shear walls. The analysis results show that optimal placement of shear walls at the building edges significantly reduces horizontal drift, torsion, and shear forces, and improves the structural performance level compared to structures without shear walls or those with less effective placement. Structures with shear walls have optimal stiffness in absorbing lateral forces, making them more resistant to damage from the planned earthquake.

Although cryptographic security is often the main concern in e-voting system development, practical implementation failures are frequently associated with poor user interfaces that increase cognitive load and voting errors. This study evaluates the effectiveness of User-Centered Design (UCD) interventions in improving usability and voter confidence in an e-voting system. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied to 36 respondents representing novice voters. Usability was measured using the System Usability Scale (SUS) before and after the interface redesign. The intervention focused on visual hierarchy, navigation consistency, status visibility, and error prevention. The results show a statistically significant improvement, with the mean SUS score increasing from 69.10 in the marginal category to 95.76 in the excellent category. The paired sample t-test produced t(35) = -7.3441 with p < 0.0001, while Cohen's d reached 1.2130, indicating a large practical effect. The standard deviation also decreased from 21.98 to 3.09, demonstrating a more consistent user experience. These findings indicate that interface optimization is essential for strengthening accessibility, voting accuracy, and user trust in digital democracy systems.
