Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

Poverty is still a major problem in regional economic development in Jambi Province, although economic growth has been relatively stable in recent years. This condition shows that economic growth has not been fully followed by an equitable distribution of development results. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth and income inequality on the poverty rate in Jambi Province. The research uses a quantitative approach with district/city panel data for the 2015–2024 period sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis was carried out using the panel data regression method to test the relationship between economic growth variables, income inequality, and poverty levels. The results of the study show that economic growth measured through the growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) has a negative effect on the poverty rate, meaning that increasing economic growth can reduce the number of poor people. On the other hand, income inequality measured by the Gini Ratio has a positive effect on poverty levels, which means that the higher the income inequality, the greater the poverty rate. These findings indicate that poverty reduction strategies not only require sustainable economic growth, but must also be accompanied by income equity policies so that the benefits of development can be felt more inclusively by all levels of society.

Prosiding Seminar Nasional Ilmu Teknik 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Teknik Indonesia

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that lead to poverty in different Indonesian regions between 2018 up to 2024. The Gross Regional Domestic Product per capita, the Human Development Index, and the Open Unemployment Rate are the independent factors used in this study, whereas poverty levels are the dependent variable. The Central Statistics Agency provided secondary data that was used in a quantitative manner. Using EViews 12 software, panel regression techniques were used to process the data. The study's conclusions show that, at a significance level of less than 0.05, economic and human development factors simultaneously significantly affect poverty rates across Indonesian regions. The coefficient of determination indicates that the variables in the model can account for the majority of the variations in poverty levels. These findings demonstrate how important a region's economic status and level of human development are to efforts to reduce poverty. It is anticipated that this research will help the government develop more effective and long-lasting methods for reducing poverty.

This study aims to analyze the effect of welfare inequality on poverty levels on the island of Sumatra. Welfare inequality is measured using the Gini Index, while poverty levels are measured by the percentage of the poor population at the provincial level. This study uses a quantitative method with a panel data approach covering ten provinces on the island of Sumatra during the period 2020–2024. The analytical techniques used include panel data regression with fixed and random effects models, as well as classical assumption testing to ensure model validity. The results show that welfare inequality has a positive and significant effect on poverty levels, meaning that increasing inequality in income distribution tends to increase the number of poor people. This finding indicates that uneven economic growth can worsen the welfare of the community, especially low-income groups. Therefore, more inclusive and sustainable development policies are needed, particularly in increasing equitable access to education, health services, and productive employment opportunities to reduce inequality and poverty levels on the island of Sumatra.

Poverty, according to the World Bank (2000), is defined as "poverty is pronounced deprivation in well-being," meaning that poverty is the loss of well-being. This study aims to analyze the impact of income distribution inequality and the Human Development Index (HDI) on poverty in Indonesia. The research utilizes data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report. The study focuses on 34 provinces in Indonesia between 2022 and 2024, examining income inequality and human development quality. The data analysis method used is panel data regression, which allows for analyzing the effects of these variables simultaneously. The findings of this study are: (1) income distribution inequality has a significant impact on poverty levels, indicating that the higher the income inequality, the higher the poverty rate in Indonesia; and (2) the Human Development Index (HDI) also affects poverty levels. The higher the HDI, the lower the poverty rate, suggesting that improvements in education, health, and well-being can reduce poverty. These findings emphasize the importance of reducing income inequality and improving human development quality as effective strategies to decrease poverty in Indonesia. Policies focused on equitable development and improving the quality of life for communities are essential for achieving more widespread well-being across all provinces.

Economic growth is a factor that influences the level of poverty, considering the increasing population which means that economic needs will also increase, so additional income is needed every year. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the effect of poverty and poverty on economic growth in Jambi Province in 2019-2023. The analysis method used is the Panel Data Regression Method. The results of the study obtained that poverty has a positive and significant effect on economic growth in Jambi Province in 2019-2023, so that the hypothesis (H1) proposed by the researcher is accepted with a significance value of 0.0308 <0.05 with a t-statistic value of 2.220545. Unemployment has a positive but not significant effect on economic growth in Jambi Province in 2019-2023 in Jambi Province, so that the hypothesis (H2) proposed by the researcher is rejected with a significance value of 0.4054> 0.05 with a t-statistic value of 0.838862. Poverty (X1) and Unemployment (X2) together influence economic growth in Jambi Province in 2019-2023 in Jambi Province (Y) with a calculated F value of 2.562611 and a significant value of 0.04680 <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. For this reason, the government must increase employment opportunities and the government must pay more attention to the level of poverty as well as increase economic growth. Islam hates poverty and poverty because according to Islam, economic growth, wealth is a blessing and gift from Allah SWT that must be grateful for by mankind. Poverty, poverty and economic stagnation must be eliminated so as not to endanger faith, morals and morals, even divisions in society. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Poverty Rate (TK), and Unemployment Rate (TPT) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in five provinces of Indonesia categorized as having moderate HDI from 2014 to 2023. The research employs a panel data regression method using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach to capture variations across regions and time. The findings reveal that the UMP has a positive and significant impact on HDI, indicating that higher minimum wages contribute to improvements in human development. In contrast, the TPT negatively and significantly affects HDI, suggesting that higher unemployment rates hinder human development progress. Meanwhile, the TK variable shows no significant effect on HDI, implying that changes in poverty rates during the study period did not directly influence human development levels in these provinces.Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis show that UMP, TK, and TPT simultaneously have a significant impact on HDI, with an overall contribution of 98.65%. The remaining 1.35% is attributed to other factors not included in the research model. These results highlight the importance of policies aimed at increasing minimum wages and reducing unemployment to enhance community welfare and accelerate human development in provinces with moderate HDI. Policymakers are encouraged to design comprehensive strategies that prioritize employment creation and wage improvements as key levers for boosting human development outcomes across regions.

The phenomenon of poverty often occurs in every country, especially in developing countries. The level of poverty in a country depends on two main factors, namely the average level of national income and the width of the income distribution gap. Poverty cannot only be measured through income national per capita because per capita income calculates the average income of people in a country. The high level of per capita national income in a country, if the distribution of income is unequal then the level of poverty in that country cannot be avoided, and vice versa, no matter how equal the distribution of income in a country is, if the average level of national income is low, then poverty will also become more widespread. This research aims to determine the effect of minimum wages, farmer exchange rates, and inflation in the primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector on poverty on the island of Java. This research uses quantitative research methods using secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), using panel data analysis techniques.  In this research, it was found that economic factors such as the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP), and the inflation rate had a significant influence on the poverty level on the island of Java in the 2017-2022 period.

Bali Province is the seventh province in Indonesia where many people migrate internationally. The existence of economic problems in Bali Province such as unemployment and poverty that continue to increase every year causes many residents to choose to become migrant workers. In addition, although the level of education possessed by residents in Bali Province is fairly capable, they prefer to become migrant workers to be able to get the opportunity to get higher wages abroad. This study aims to analyze the simultaneous and partial influence of the variables of education level, poverty level, district minimum wage, and unemployment rate on the level of international migration of PMI from city districts in Bali Province during 2014-2023 in 90 observations. The research method in this study is a quantitative research method using panel data analysis techniques and moderation analysis.  The results obtained from this study: 1) Simultaneously, education level, poverty level, district minimum wage, and unemployment rate affect the international migration rate of migrant workers. 2) Partially, education level and poverty level have a positive and significant effect on the international migration rate of migrant workers while the district minimum wage and unemployment rate have a negative and significant effect on the international migration rate of migrant workers. 3) The unemployment rate variable is a pseudo-moderating variable. The unemployment rate variable is a variable that strengthens the influence of education level and poverty level on the international migration rate of migrant workers while the unemployment rate variable is a variable that weakens the influence of the district minimum wage on the international migration rate of migrant workers from city districts in Bali Province.

As a participant in the G20 Group and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Indonesia actively supports sustainable economic growth. However, this nation has problems in absorbing labor, giving rise to concerns about poverty which can endanger social and political stability and impact the welfare of its population. Therefore, a study of the problem of poverty is needed. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of inflation, minimum wages in each province, and HDI (Human Development Index) on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using data collected from thirty-three provinces in 2015 and 2018, this research uses a panel-based regression technique with inflation, HDI, and provincial minimum salary as independent variables. Poverty is identified as the dependent variable. The findings of this study validate the effects of the fixed equality approach and demonstrate the large and detrimental impact of HDI and inflation on poverty in Indonesia. On the other hand, there is no real impact of the provincial minimum wage on poverty levels in this country. Governments can invest in developing people's skills and education, optimizing regional possibilities, and implementing efficient regulations to fight poverty. This research aims to determine the impact of inflation, minimum wages in each province, and the HDI, or Human Development Index, on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using data collected from 33 provinces between 2015 and 2018, this research uses panel data regression techniques with inflation, HDI and provincial minimum wages as independent variables. The dependency factor found was poverty. The conclusions of this research support the application of the fixed impact method and show how inflation and HDI have a significant negative influence on the number of poor people in Indonesia. In contrast, the provincial minimum salary does not have a significant effect on the national poverty level. To combat impoverishment, government agencies can invest in individual education and skills development, maximize local opportunities, and implement effective laws.
