The implementation of smoking prohibition policies in Islamic boarding schools continues to depend largely on manual monitoring methods, which often face challenges related to consistency and supervision range. This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based cigarette smoke detection system as an alternative monitoring approach that is more effective, measurable, and sustainable. The system design combines an MQ-2 gas sensor with a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller programmed through the Arduino IDE platform. When smoke levels detected by the sensor exceed the predetermined limit, the system automatically triggers a buzzer and LED as warning indicators while simultaneously sending monitoring data to cloud-based platforms such as Firebase or ThingSpeak for real-time observation through web interfaces. The research outputs include a comprehensive system design consisting of system architecture, electronic circuit schematics, flowcharts, and pseudocode that are systematically arranged to support future prototype development and implementation. Through this design, the proposed system is expected to provide an initial technological solution that can enhance the effectiveness of monitoring and enforcing smoke-free regulations within Islamic boarding school environments.

This article, titled "Parental Participation and Preventive Measures Against Cigarette Smoke Exposure in Early Childhood," aims to describe the impact of cigarette smoke exposure on the health of early childhood and analyze the role of parents in prevention efforts. This research used a literature review method, compiling data from books, journals, research reports, and related academic sources. The results of the study indicate that cigarette smoke exposure can increase the risk of respiratory disorders, reduce immunity, exacerbate asthma, and trigger various chronic diseases in children. These findings confirm that early childhood is the group most vulnerable to the dangers of cigarette smoke, both from active and passive smoking. Furthermore, the discussion demonstrates the central role of parental participation through smoking cessation, the implementation of smoke-free homes, maintaining a clean environment, and ongoing family education. Various strategies, such as evidence-based education and the use of digital media, are also considered effective in raising parental awareness. Therefore, protecting children from cigarette smoke exposure requires family commitment and the support of a healthy environment.

Work safety is always a priority, especially in the mining world which has a high potential for danger. Therefore, there are many regulations that must be obeyed, including the prohibition of smoking in the cabin of the Dump Truck unit. This study aims to design a cigarette smoke detector in the cab of a dump truck as a form of warning to drivers who violate the ban on smoking in the cab. The method used in this research is a quantitative method by conducting experiments. The research conducted is to analyze the effect of smoke thickness levels (20%, 40%, and 60%) on different sensor types (MQ-4 and MQ-7). The expected result is the effect of smoke thickness variation on the response time of different sensors.

Cigarette smoke is a mixture of smoke and particles. The smoke consists of 4000 mixed chemical compounds, including toxic substances and 69 of them are cancer-causing substances. Pregnant women who are exposed to cigarette smoke will have an impact on their pregnancy and fetus, such as low birth weight, risk of premature birth, respiratory problems and other fetal development disorders. This community service activity is to increase pregnant women's knowledge about the dangers of cigarette smoke during pregnancy. The method of this activity is to provide direct counseling to 20 pregnant women. It is hoped that pregnant women can avoid exposure to cigarette smoke around them so that it does not harm the health of the fetus during pregnancy.

Children as the next generation of the nation require special attention to health aspects to ensure optimal growth and development. One of the worrying health threats is the high exposure of children to cigarette smoke, which contains dangerous chemicals such as nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide. Exposure to cigarette smoke can damage the respiratory system, interfere with brain development, and affect the function of vital organs, especially in early childhood whose body systems are still vulnerable. The impacts include an increased risk of respiratory tract infections, asthma, and various other health problems that can have long-term impacts. The role of parents is very important in efforts to prevent exposure to cigarette smoke, starting from setting an example by not smoking to creating an environment free from cigarette smoke. In addition, education about the dangers of cigarette smoke needs to be given to children from an early age to increase their awareness of the importance of maintaining health. The active role of parents in building a healthy environment and educating children about the risks of cigarette smoke is an essential step in creating a healthier generation free from exposure to cigarette smoke.

Bacterial growth is one processes carried out through binary fission for its reproduction process. Bad bacteria in their growth process must course be inhibited in several ways, one which is through the consumption several herbal or traditional plants, such as torch ginger and kalanduyung extracts. The dangers cigarette smoke can reduce the health individuals. Cigarette smoke can have an impact on reducing the number of spermatozoa caused by decrease in the diameter seminiferous tubules for 45 days. The purpose writing journal is to analyze antibacterial activity of torch ginger and kalanduyung extracts on bacterial growth and the effect of cigarettes on the quality male mouse sperm. The writing method uses qualitative type. The results and conclusions that bacterial growth can be inhibited by consuming several traditional plants such as torch ginger extract and kalanduyung leaf extract. In inhibiting growth of antibacterial activity, torch ginger extract has quite good effectiveness with concentration value 20%. The value inhibition zone formed is 17.22. The use largest concentration, namely 80%, has an effective inhibition of bacterial growth which is known to have an average inhibition zone value of 14.9 mm. Furthermore, the quality male mouse sperm does not have specific effect on the provision control treatment related to provision amount of cigarette smoke.

The type of research used is from various literature and the development of various references. The method used is analysis. The data of this study was obtained by collecting data related to the journal theme, then grouping, sorting, and deleting unnecessary data. Next is to present and conclude from various data collections. The results of this study are described systematically and concretely according to the order of focus that has been previously explained. The first step is to explain what fasting is. The second step is to quote all the sentences that describe the relationship between fasting and health according to leading experts.

The implementation of the No Smoking Area is important in the campus environment because the campus is one of the places that should implement the No Smoking Area. In addition, the campus is a place of learning, where people in it are not only people who smoke, but there are also many passive smokers. Student smoking behavior that is carried out every day inside and outside the lecture hall causes the prevalence of cigarette smoke in the campus environment. With several reasons, there are many male students who smoke. This study aims to determine the implementation of the KTR policy by academics within the scope of the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, Makassar State University. This research uses a qualitative study design with data collection methods in this study, namely interviews and participatory observation. The results of this study, namely the implementation of academics regarding communication, resources, bureaucratic structure, and disposition towards KTR policies in the FIKK UNM environment become an obstacle to the enforcement of policy compliance. The conclusion of the results of interviews with observations of research variables in the campus environment is not in line in its implementation. It is recommended to the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences UNM to increase compliance with KTR policies in the campus environment by increasing communication variables, disposition, resources and bureaucratic structures so that it will reduce the prevalence of smoking rates in the campus environment.
