Partographs are an important instrument in labor monitoring that functions to detect complications early, monitor labor progress, and support appropriate clinical decision-making. However, incomplete filling of partographs is still a problem in various health service facilities and has the potential to affect the quality of midwifery services. This study aims to find out the completeness of filling in the partograph in childbirth monitoring at the Wajo Health Center UPTD Baubau City. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The research population is all partograph documents for the period November 2025 to March 2026 as many as 40 documents. The sampling technique used total sampling and obtained 32 documents that met the research criteria. Data were collected using an observation checklist sheet and analyzed univariately through frequency and percentage distributions. The results showed that as many as 28 documents (87.5%) had not been fully filled out and only 4 documents (12.5%) had been filled in completely. The components with the highest level of completeness were uterine contractions (100%), drugs and fluids (96.9%), and labor progress (93.8%). Meanwhile, the components of maternal information (12.5%) and maternal condition (31.3%) had the lowest level of completeness. Most of the filling of partographs at the Wajo Health Center UPTD still does not meet the completeness standards. It is necessary to strengthen supervision, training, and periodic monitoring to improve the quality of childbirth documentation and support the safety of mothers and babies

Anxiety during pregnancy is one of the most common psychological problems experienced by pregnant women, particularly during the third trimester when they face childbirth preparation as well as various physical and emotional changes. If not properly managed, anxiety may adversely affect both maternal and fetal health. This study aimed to describe the level of anxiety among third-trimester pregnant women at Mlati II Public Health Center in 2026. This research employed a descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study involved 40 third-trimester pregnant women selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire and analyzed through univariate analysis in the form of frequency and percentage distributions. The results showed that most respondents were of healthy reproductive age (20–35 years) (92.5%), primigravida (67.5%), had a secondary level of education (70%), and were unemployed (70%). The respondents' anxiety levels were categorized as no anxiety (47.5%), mild anxiety (47.5%), and moderate anxiety (5%), while no cases of severe anxiety or panic were identified. The most dominant anxiety indicators were anxious feelings, tension, respiratory symptoms, and sleep disturbances. These findings indicate that some third-trimester pregnant women still experience anxiety, highlighting the need for early detection, health education, and psychological support through antenatal care services to promote maternal mental well-being during pregnancy.

Anxiety is a common psychological issue among pregnant women in the third trimester, often triggered by fear of childbirth, concerns about fetal health, and hormonal changes. If not properly addressed, it may negatively affect both maternal and fetal outcomes. Non-pharmacological approaches, such as music therapy, are increasingly used to promote relaxation and emotional well-being. This study aimed to determine the effect of music therapy using spiritual songs on the anxiety levels of third-trimester pregnant women at GMIM Siloam Sonder Minahasa Hospital. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was applied. The sample consisted of 30 pregnant women selected through total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured before and after the intervention using a validated instrument, and the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The findings revealed a significant reduction in anxiety levels following the intervention. The statistical test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of spiritual music therapy on reducing anxiety. These results suggest that spiritual songs can provide emotional comfort, enhance relaxation, and foster a sense of peace among pregnant women. In conclusion, music therapy using spiritual songs is an effective, safe, and complementary non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety in third-trimester pregnant women and can be considered as part of maternal healthcare support.

The postpartum period is an important time for the mother's physiological recovery after childbirth, during which various bodily changes are still ongoing and health risks, including changes in blood pressure, may occur. One factor that is thought to affect blood pressure during the postpartum period is dietary patterns, particularly high sodium intake. Salted fish is a food commonly consumed by the community and is known to have a high salt content. This study aims to analyze the effect of salted fish consumption on blood pressure in postpartum mothers from day 1 to day 28. This study used a quantitative approach with an analytical observational design through a cross-sectional method. The study sample consisted of 20 postpartum mothers on days 1–28 who were selected using purposive sampling. The independent variable was salted fish consumption, while the dependent variable was the systolic blood pressure of postpartum mothers. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire and blood pressure measurements with a standard tensiometer. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed, so the analysis was continued with the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study show a significant difference between systolic blood pressure before and after exposure to salted fish consumption, indicating that consumption of foods high in salt affects changes in blood pressure in postpartum women. This study concludes that salted fish consumption has the potential to affect the blood pressure of postpartum women. Therefore, nutrition education related to limiting the intake of foods high in salt during the postpartum period needs to be improved as part of efforts to prevent postpartum hypertension.

Labor pain begins in the first stage, which includes the latent phase (cervical dilation up to 3 cm) and the active phase (cervical dilation from 4 cm to 10 cm). The active phase sees an increase in the intensity and frequency of contractions, leading to peak pain. Research on 2,700 delivering mothers found that 15% experienced mild pain, 35% moderate pain, 30% severe pain, and 20% very severe pain. To reduce maternal mortality (AKI), minimizing labor pain is crucial. Labor pain can be controlled through pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. Non-pharmacological methods include counter pressure, hypnobirthing, endorphin massage, effleurage massage, relaxation techniques, warm compresses, Mozart music, murottal therapy, acupressure, and aromatherapy. Distraction and pain management techniques are vital for healthcare providers to help reduce pain, especially during the first stage of labor. One effective method is deep breathing relaxation, where regulating the breathing pattern can reduce pain caused by cervical dilation. Slow deep breathing, a conscious relaxation technique, has several benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving focus, lowering blood pressure, enhancing sleep quality, and improving digestion. Objective: To determine the effect of slow deep breathing on labor pain reduction. Results: Wilcoxon statistical test showed a significance value of ρ = 0.023 (ρ<0.05), indicating a significant difference in labor pain levels before and after applying slow deep breathing. Conclusion: Slow deep breathing reduces labor pain levels.

The postpartum period is a crucial phase for mothers to recover after childbirth. One of the common problems is perineal wounds, caused either by episiotomy or spontaneous rupture, which require proper care to prevent infection and accelerate healing. This case study aimed to provide midwifery care for Mrs. M, 28 years old, P3A0H3, with a second-degree perineal wound at PMB Bd. Silvi Ayu, S.Keb. The SOAP approach was applied through assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation over five days (June 12–16, 2025). Interventions included education on perineal hygiene, encouragement of nutritious food intake, light mobilization, and perineal wound care using boiled binahong leaves. The results showed decreased pain, reduced edema, a dry wound, and complete healing on the fifth day, with the REEDA score decreasing from 11 to 0. The discussion emphasized that flavonoids, saponins, and ascorbic acid in binahong leaves contribute to tissue regeneration and faster healing. Limitations of this study included the short monitoring period, limited sample, and reliance on maternal compliance. In conclusion, binahong leaf decoction was found to be effective, practical, and able to enhance maternal independence in wound care. This study is expected to serve as a reference for midwifery practice and as a basis for further research with a wider scope.

RS at Kemayoran continues to experience low conversion of antenatal care (ANC) patients to delivery services, with a conversion rate of 6.9% in 2024. The maternity ward Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) also remains below national standards. Preliminary assessments indicate dissatisfaction with the hospital’s healthscape, low mimetic desire reflected in limited recommendations, and suboptimal perceived value. This study examines the effects of healthscape and mimetic desire on childbirth location decisions, with perceived value tested as a mediating variable. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Data were collected from 210 ANC patients at RSUD Kemayoran through structured questionnaires. Variables included healthscape, mimetic desire, perceived value, and delivery location decision. All instruments met validity and reliability criteria. Results: Healthscape and mimetic desire significantly influenced the decision to choose RSUD Kemayoran for childbirth. Healthscape did not significantly affect perceived value, whereas mimetic desire showed a significant effect. Perceived value had a significant direct effect on delivery decisions but did not mediate the relationships between healthscape or mimetic desire and delivery choice. Healthscape emerged as the most influential determinant. Conclusion: Physical healthcare environments play a critical role in childbirth location decisions. Improving healthscape quality and strengthening professional and social recommendations may enhance ANC-to-delivery conversion rates in public hospitals.

The third trimester of pregnancy is a challenging period since pregnant women experience various physical and psychological changes that can affect their readiness for childbirth. High anxiety levels and the presence of pregnancy complications are known to reduce maternal preparedness for labor. This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and pregnancy complications with the readiness of third trimester pregnant women in facing childbirth in the working area of Benteng Community Health Center, Selayar Islands Regency. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a cross-sectional method. The population consisted of all third trimester pregnant women, with a total sample of 86 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included an anxiety questionnaire using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), a pregnancy complication checklist, and a childbirth readiness questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and multiple logistic regression at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the study showed no significant relationship between anxiety and readiness for childbirth (p < 0.550) or between pregnancy complications and readiness for childbirth (p < 0.690). Therefore, it can be concluded that anxiety and pregnancy complications are not significantly related to the readiness of pregnant women in the third trimester for childbirth. This indicates that maternal readiness is influenced by factors other than the variables studied, such as knowledge, family support, and previous childbirth experiences.

Empowering pregnant women in their third trimester through Respectful Maternity Care-based childbirth preparation counseling is a relevant promotive and preventive strategy for improving maternal health. This counseling not only provides knowledge about the signs of labor, stages of labor, pain management options, and birth planning, but also equips mothers with an understanding of their rights in midwifery care. Childbirth preparation education often focuses solely on clinical aspects and fails to fully address the psychosocial aspects and the rights of mothers as service recipients. This has the potential to lead to an unpleasant childbirth experience and even contribute to disrespect and abuse during labor. This counseling can equip mothers with an understanding of their rights in midwifery care. With an empathetic, participatory, and woman-centered approach, pregnant women are expected to be able to recognize their needs, convey their preferences, and communicate effectively with health workers. The purpose of this counseling is to improve pregnant women's knowledge before and after being empowered in their third trimester through Respectful Maternity Care-based childbirth preparation counseling.

Maternal reproductive health is a critical factor in reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). Data from Deli Tua Primary Health Center shows that K4 coverage reached only 78% with prenatal class participation at 40%, still below the national target. Low knowledge among pregnant women about reproductive health is one of the main causes. This Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-M) aims to improve reproductive health knowledge through innovative and interactive prenatal class improvement. The implementation method includes developing educational media (modules, posters, videos), conducting classes with participatory learning methods, and evaluation through pre-post tests. The program was conducted over 5 months targeting 30 pregnant women divided into 3 groups, each attending 6 sessions. Materials covered physiological changes during pregnancy, nutrition, reproductive hygiene, danger signs, childbirth preparation, and postpartum care. Results showed a knowledge score increase of 42.5% (from 58.3±12.4 to 83.1±8.7) with significance p<0.001. Participation reached 86.7% with satisfaction level of 4.3/5.0. The program proved effective in improving reproductive health knowledge and can be replicated in other primary health centers with local context adaptation.
