International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice 2025 Asosiasi Penelitian dan Pengajar Ilmu Hukum Indonesia

According to Law Number 6 of 2023, which stipulates a maximum of 40 working hours per week, a survey conducted by the Kompas Daily Data Journalism Team reveals that the average working hours of lecturers in Indonesia reach 69.64 hours per week throughout 2024. This data highlights a significant discrepancy between the legal provisions and the reality of lecturers' workloads. Despite the law setting limits, many lecturers at Indonesian state universities are facing workloads that far exceed the stipulated working hours. These workloads consist of teaching responsibilities, research, community service, campus administration, and even side jobs, making it clear that the working conditions for lecturers are far from ideal. Moreover, the low salaries, especially for lecturers in private universities, have severe implications not only on individual welfare but also on the broader educational system. The low income of lecturers contributes to a looming teaching crisis on campus, which will inevitably affect the quality of education and lecturer performance. This crisis is further reflected in public sentiment. Google Trend data shows a sharp increase in searches for the phrase "don't be a lecturer," reaching a peak of 100 at the end of January 2025, indicating a growing disillusionment with the profession. In addition, a staggering 76.5% of lecturers have side jobs outside of their academic duties. The most common side jobs include consulting (32.4%), teaching (18.9%), research (16.2%), and writing (2.7%). A smaller percentage (5.41%) are engaged in informal work, such as being online motorcycle taxi drivers. These figures reveal the heavy burden on lecturers to seek additional income, which ultimately compromises their focus and performance in their primary academic roles.

Da'wah comes from the Arabic language,” دعا, يدعو, دعوة”  which means "to call" or "to invite." Da'wah itself is an activity carried out by Muslims to spread the teachings of Islam to others. This activity aims to invite others to understand, accept, and practice Islamic teachings in their daily lives. Da'wah can be conducted through various means, such as lectures, sermons, religious studies, discussions, and via social media or written materials. In delivering da'wah in the environment of Al-Asy'ari Mosque at Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba), the role of   Indonesian language as the national language has a strategic role in conveying effective and widely accepted da'wah messages within the campus community. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this research was conducted through media observations and the distribution of questionnaires to students. The role of Indonesian language in delivering da'wah at Al-Asy'ari Mosque is evident as its usage is prevalent in every event, such as sermons, lectures, studies, and more. Indonesian language also serves as a tool to facilitate communication among students from diverse backgrounds and as an effective medium for conveying da'wah messages.

The Teaching Campus Program through the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) policy is a strategic step for the Ministry of Education and Culture in improving the literacy and numeracy competencies of students in Indonesia. Involving students directly makes a significant contribution in strengthening learning at the elementary school level, according to the needs and conditions the school is facing. With this activity, it is hoped that teachers can be motivated to create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere, especially students who are motivated to continue learning and develop their potential. The School Literacy Movement (GLS) is one of the names of the activities we provide to study literacy in children to increase interest in reading. Increasing students' literacy competency is a positive result of the implementation of the Class 6 Teaching Campus Program at SDN 027977 West Binjai. Hopefully this program will continue to provide positive benefits for education at the school, especially in grades II, IV, V and VI.

Libraries play an important role in determining how the academic climate in schools is formed. To maximize scientific activities, the library is organized as a hierarchical system with many purposes and functions. The main reason why the goals and functions of libraries cannot be implemented effectively is because most of the school libraries in Indonesia currently do not meet the demands, both in terms of convenience and selection of library materials. Therefore, steps must be taken to restore proper library operations. The impact of better library services on the reading interest of SMP Kartini Taman students was one of the topics raised. This project is just one of many that Kampus Merdeka is undertaking as part of the Teaching Campus initiative. The service period in 2023 lasts from February 20 to June 16. Serving at the Junior High School which is located on Jl. Ki Suryo Jati Utara, Kedungturi Village, Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency, is the responsibility of our team. Through the implementation of school library management reform initiatives, this program seeks to restore the function of the school library in accordance with its vision and mission. The planning stage (Planning), the organizing stage (Organizing), the implementation stage (Actuating), and the control stage are the first steps in improving the administrative services of the implemented school library. Collecting data in this service is carried out using a qualitative descriptive methodology which includes interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Based on the initiatives made and the findings, the children's enthusiasm for reading in class increased. Thus, efforts to improve library services are ensured to be successful and right on target.
