The growth of information technology has driven changes in consumer behavior, one of which is through e-commerce platforms such as Shopee. This phenomenon has generated a large number of customer reviews, including those for local cosmetic products such as Wardah. These reviews serve as an important source of information for understanding customer perceptions and satisfaction levels. However, manual analysis of large and linguistically diverse datasets is inefficient and potentially subjective. This study aims to implement the multi-category Naive Bayes algorithm to classify the sentiment of Wardah product reviews on Shopee into three categories: positive, negative, and neutral. The data were collected using a web scraping technique and processed through a series of preprocessing stages including case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, stemming, and text cleaning. Subsequently, term weighting was performed using the TF-IDF method prior to classification. Model performance was evaluated using a confusion matrix as well as accuracy, precision, and recall metrics. The results indicate that the multi-category Naive Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy of 86.00%, a precision of 86.63%, and a recall of 98.24%. This approach can assist business practitioners in objectively understanding customer opinions and support decision-making in business strategy and product development.

The internationalization of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) has become a strategic issue in addressing global economic dynamics, particularly within the framework of the Global Value Chain (GVC) in the digital age. Although Indonesian MSMEs have great potential to support the national economy, their level of involvement in the global value chain remains relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the challenges and strategies for the internationalization of Indonesian MSMEs within the GVC in the digital age. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design, along with thematic analysis and value chain analysis techniques. The findings indicate that MSMEs are already involved in the GVC across various stages of the value chain—from raw material processing to global distribution—yet they continue to face numerous challenges, such as technological limitations, human resource competencies, production capacity, and international distribution networks. On the other hand, digitalization has proven to be a key factor in expanding access to global markets through the use of digital platforms. An effective internationalization strategy requires the integration of product innovation based on local resources, the utilization of digital technology, and the strengthening of global business networks. This study contributes to integrating the perspectives of GVCs, digitalization, and SME internationalization strategies into a comprehensive analytical framework, and provides practical implications for SME actors and policymakers in enhancing competitiveness in the global market

This study explores how Generation Z constructs work values and meaning in modern organizations shaped by digitalization and social transformation. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach under a social constructivist paradigm, the research investigates the lived experiences of young professionals in the digital, creative, and startup sectors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and non-participant observation and analyzed using thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006; Moustakas, 1994). Findings show that Generation Z defines work through three interrelated dimensions: (1) intrinsic motivation grounded in personal purpose and self-expression, (2) redefined productivity emphasizing creativity and emotional balance rather than quantitative output, and (3) job satisfaction derived from inclusive culture and adaptive leadership. These results support Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000) and Social Constructionism (Berger & Luckmann, 1966), showing that work meaning is socially constructed rather than objectively given. Overall, the study concludes that for Generation Z, work represents not merely economic activity but a medium for identity, contribution, and personal growth, urging organizations to embrace meaning-centered and value-driven leadership to enhance engagement and fulfillment.

This study aims to understand how the spirit of innovation and the meaning of entrepreneurship are constructed through the lived experiences of startup business actors in the digital economy era. Using a qualitative narrative inquiry approach within the social constructivist paradigm, this research explores how startup entrepreneurs interpret innovation, resilience in the face of failure, and social responsibility as integral parts of their entrepreneurial identity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis of startups in the technology, education, and creative economy sectors in Indonesia. Narrative thematic analysis reveals that innovation is understood not merely as a business strategy but also as a form of self-expression and the construction of entrepreneurial identity. Failure is perceived as a reflective learning process that shapes resilience and generates new meaning in the entrepreneurial journey. Moreover, entrepreneurship is interpreted as a meaningful journey that integrates economic goals with social and moral values. The digital ecosystem functions as a social space where entrepreneurial values are negotiated, shared, and reinforced through interaction and collaboration. These findings affirm that entrepreneurship in the digital era is a social process involving creativity, ethical reflection, and sustainable innovation. Theoretically, this study contributes to expanding the understanding of entrepreneurship as a social practice, while practically emphasizing the importance of reflective learning and value awareness in building a sustainable and meaningful startup ecosystem for society.

This study aims to analyze the comparison of small business development strategies in improving the income of traders in traditional markets around Medan City. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and documentation involving three traders of fruit, vegetables, and tomatoes. The results show that each trader applies different strategies depending on the characteristics of their commodities and business capacity. Fruit and tomato traders tend to implement quality sorting, price adjustments, and trust-building through honest customer service. Meanwhile, the vegetable trader relies more on traditional approaches such as giving bonuses to customers. Market facilities significantly influence the effectiveness of business strategies, where traders with proper stalls are better able to maintain income stability compared to those using temporary tents in muddy and uncomfortable areas. Seasonal factors also strongly affect income fluctuation as they determine the quality and supply of commodities. This study concludes that small business development strategies in traditional markets are shaped not only by traders’ managerial abilities but also by market infrastructure conditions and external environmental factors. It is recommended that market managers improve market facilities to support the sustainability of small traders’ businesses.

MSMEs are a sector that plays a vital role in the Indonesian economy, both as labor absorbers and significant contributors to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, amidst increasingly competitive business competition, the sustainability of MSMEs is largely determined by the ability of entrepreneurs to formulate and implement appropriate business strategies. This study aims to analyze the role of business strategies in increasing revenue by taking a case study of the Dimsum Mentai MSME in Medan City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results show that the business strategies implemented by the Dimsum Mentai MSME include product innovation through a combination of traditional and modern flavors, the implementation of value-added packages to reach consumers with diverse purchasing power, the selection of a strategic business location near student activity centers, and the use of social media as a digital promotional tool. These strategies have been proven to increase consumer appeal, expand market reach, and positively contribute to increasing business revenue. Thus, it can be concluded that business strategy plays a crucial role in maintaining competitiveness and increasing revenue for MSMEs in the culinary sector. The findings of this study are expected to contribute academically to the development of MSME business strategy studies and provide practical recommendations for entrepreneurs to optimize their business potential amidst constantly changing market dynamics.

This study aims to analyze the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) on the financial performance of mining companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII70) for the 2020–2024 period, with the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) as a control variable. The findings show that, partially, the Environmental variable has a positive but insignificant effect on ROA, indicating that efforts in energy efficiency, waste management, and emission reduction have not yet been fully reflected in short-term profitability. In contrast, the Social variable has a significant effect on ROA, emphasizing that companies’ engagement in building stakeholder relationships, protecting employee rights, and implementing social responsibility programs contribute substantially to financial performance. The Governance variable also has a significant effect on ROA, highlighting the importance of good governance practices, transparency, and accountability in enhancing profitability. Meanwhile, the control variable DER shows no significant effect on ROA. Simultaneously, ESG performance has a significant effect on ROA, proving that integrated ESG implementation supports the profitability of mining companies. These findings confirm that ESG is not only a compliance measure with sustainability principles but also a long-term business strategy that strengthens companies’ competitiveness and serves as a crucial consideration for investors in making investment decisions.

The development of information technology (IT) has become a crucial element in improving operational efficiency and business competitiveness in the digital era. This study aims to design an information technology infrastructure strategy for a local skincare company that currently still faces obstacles due to fragmented communication processes and manual data recording. The research method uses the Ward and Peppard framework, supported by SWOT and Value Chain analysis to identify the internal and external business environment and formulate an IS/IT strategy that aligns with the business strategy. The research approach is descriptive qualitative through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The analysis results indicate that the main problem lies in the lack of infrastructure capable of integrating production, distribution, and inventory management processes. Based on these findings, this study recommends designing an infrastructure strategy that supports the implementation of the integrated system "Sivendor". The integration of green marketing into corporate strategies represents a paradigmatic shift in responding to global sustainability issues while enhancing competitiveness and socio-ecological commitment. With the rapid growth of literature in this field, a systematic analysis is required to map its conceptual evolution and strategic directions. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of global research trends in green marketing, aiming to identify the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and knowledge development over the period 2017–2024. Using the Scopus database and the Biblioshiny and VOSviewer tools, 275 peer-reviewed articles were examined through quantitative bibliometric mapping techniques. The analysis reveals an annual publication growth rate of 15.27%, with dominant themes such as “sustainability,” “green marketing,” and “sustainable development.” Thematic mapping visualizations indicate a shift in research focus from product-related technical issues to strategic, social, and consumer behaviour dimensions. Five major thematic clusters were identified, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches encompassing digital marketing strategies, consumer behaviour, corporate social responsibility, supply chain management, and environmental ethics. These findings underscore the significance of integrating green marketing as a sustainable business strategy, not only to enhance corporate image but also to foster more environmentally responsible consumer behaviour. The study provides a conceptual foundation for future inquiries and strategic implications for business practices, affirming the role of green marketing as a catalyst for organizational transformation toward environmental and social sustainability.

Business location plays a crucial role in determining the success and development of a business, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to analyze how business location influences the performance and sustainability of the Fresh and Healthy Juice MSME in Medan. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through direct observation, interviews with business owners, and documentation of daily business activities. The results show that selecting a strategic location, namely on the main road and close to busy areas such as markets, schools, and offices, has a positive impact on increasing the number of customers and sales volume. Factors such as easy transportation access, environmental cleanliness, comfort of the place, and the attractive appearance of the store also support a positive product image in the eyes of consumers. In addition, an easily accessible location simplifies the distribution of raw materials and expands opportunities for word-of-mouth promotion. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the right business location is an important strategy in increasing competitiveness and business revenue. Therefore, for MSMEs, selecting a location that suits the target market needs to be carefully considered so that the business can grow sustainably.
