This study aims to evaluate simple bookkeeping practices in traditional Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a comparative study between Nasi Padang and Warung Madura MSMEs. The background of this study is based on the still low level of financial literacy of MSMEs, especially in terms of recording and managing business finances, which are often not done systematically. The methods used in this activity include direct observation, simple bookkeeping training, and evaluation of the implementation of financial recording. The results of the observation indicate that Nasi Padang MSMEs have not kept complete financial records and still mix personal finances with business finances. Meanwhile, Warung Madura MSMEs have kept simple bookkeeping and separated business finances from personal finances, but the records are not organized neatly and systematically. The implementation of simple bookkeeping training has a positive impact on improving business actors' understanding in recording cash inflows and outflows and preparing simple profit and loss reports. The evaluation results show an increase in the ability of MSMEs to manage business finances in a more structured manner. Thus, simple bookkeeping plays an important role in increasing financial transparency, assisting business decision-making, and supporting the sustainability of MSMEs. This study recommends ongoing mentoring so that simple bookkeeping practices can be consistently implemented by MSMEs.

This Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) empowerment and development program aims to improve the capacity of business financial management through training in simple bookkeeping, preparation of simple financial reports, and business cost analysis in Tegal Sari Hamlet, Block S, Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. This program is motivated by the low ability of MSMEs to systematically record their finances, separate their business finances from their personal finances, and utilize cost information as a basis for business decision-making. The implementation method includes an initial survey, observation, interviews, training, and direct mentoring for MSMEs. The results of the program indicate that before the program was implemented, most MSMEs had not implemented regular financial records and had not prepared business financial reports. After the training and mentoring, there was an increase in the understanding and skills of MSMEs in recording daily financial transactions, preparing simple profit and loss reports, and calculating the cost of production as a basis for determining selling prices. This activity has a positive impact on increasing the independence and sustainability of MSME business management.

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy, serving as key drivers of inclusive economic growth and major contributors to employment creation. Despite their importance, many UMKM operators continue to face significant challenges in financial management, particularly due to the absence of structured and systematic financial record-keeping practices. This condition is also evident among UMKM in Kuning Gading Village, Unit XVIII Kuamang Kuning, where most businesses are still managed in a traditional manner with inadequate bookkeeping systems. This community service program aims to enhance financial literacy and strengthen the capacity of UMKM actors to implement simple bookkeeping as a foundation for effective business financial management. The methods employed include needs assessment through field observation, educational and practical training sessions, hands-on mentoring, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills related to transaction recording, separation of business and personal finances, and preparation of simple cash flow statements. Evaluation outcomes show an increase in competency scores from an initial range of 20%–40% to 75%–85% after the training. Furthermore, the program fostered a positive shift in participants’ mindset toward more professional and accountable business management practices. Therefore, the implementation of simple bookkeeping is proven to be an effective initial strategy for strengthening MSME financial governance and supporting sustainable business development at the local level.

The rapid development of digital technology requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt by utilizing digital marketing and improving financial management practices. However, many service-based MSMEs have not yet optimized digital promotion and integrated bookkeeping in their business operations. This community service activity aims to enhance the promotion of service MSMEs through the implementation of digital marketing and to strengthen cost control through simple bookkeeping at AND CUSTOM LED. The methods used include an initial survey, practical mentoring, and evaluation of the activities. The mentoring process involved training in promotional content creation, the use of social media as a business communication tool, and the application of daily transaction recording. The results indicate an improvement in the business owner’s understanding and behavior regarding promotional management and financial recording. The MSME owner became more active and consistent in implementing digital promotion strategies and more disciplined in recording income and expenses. In addition, the mentoring encouraged a more independent and well-planned work attitude. Overall, this activity demonstrates that integrating digital marketing with simple bookkeeping can improve the quality of service MSME management and support business sustainability in the digital era.

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged business actors to adopt digital transformation; this situation is also experienced by Pabrik Tahu Macanan, a small scale tofu factory in Magelang that still relies on manual systems in operation. This  study aims to analyze the implementation of management information systems in supporting digital transformation and risk management at Pabrik Tahu Macanan; a descriptive qualitative approach was applied, using interviews, observations, and documentation as date collection methods. The findings reveal that digital information systems have the potential to improve efficiency, recording accuracy, and internal control; however, their implementation remains limited due to human resource constraints and low adaptability to new technologies. The research also found that simple risk management practices such as regular machine maintenance and manual bookkeeping remain effective in maintaining business stability. The implication of this study indicates that a gradual implementation of digital based information systems, supported by training and supervision, can serve as a strategic step to enhance competitiveness, operational efficiency, and sustainability for traditional SMEs like Pabrik Tahu Macanan.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Economic Entity Principle in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) Kedai Kita, which still relies on a simple financial recording system. The principle emphasizes the importance of separating personal and business finances to ensure that financial statements accurately and objectively reflect the entity's economic condition. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through direct interviews with the business owner to gain an in-depth understanding of the financial management practices implemented. The findings indicate that the application of the Economic Entity Principle at Kedai Kita has not been fully realized, as evidenced by the ongoing mixing of personal and business funds, the absence of a formal bookkeeping system, and inconsistent recording of cash flows and expenditures. The main factors hindering the implementation of this principle include limited accounting literacy, lack of time for bookkeeping, and the absence of a structured accounting system. Nevertheless, the business owner has begun to recognize the importance of separating finances as a foundation for more accountable business management. These findings imply the need for the adoption of simple recording applications, the provision of basic accounting training, and increased understanding among MSME actors regarding the benefits of structured financial statements. This study provides practical contributions for other MSMEs by demonstrating that the implementation of the Economic Entity Principle is a fundamental step in enhancing financial transparency and accountability, as well as strengthening opportunities for access to formal financing.

The digital transformation of payment systems has become essential for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to improve transaction efficiency and expand market accessibility. This community service program was conducted to introduce and implement the use of QRIS through the Dana Bisnis application for four MSMEs located in the Makam Raja-Raja Imogiri tourism area Yogyakarta : Warung Wahyu, Warmindo Babe, Warung Pecel Bu Yani, and Warung Pecel Bu Elti. Initially, all MSMEs relied solely on cash transactions, leading to difficulties in financial recording and limited access to digital financial services. The program consisted of several stages, including on-site surveys, problem identification, explanation of digital payment benefits, training on QRIS registration and usage, and continuous assistance during the transition process. The results indicate a significant improvement in MSMEs’ understanding of digital payment systems and a gradual shift towards non-cash transactions. Evaluation findings show that approximately 60% of daily transactions were conducted via QRIS, and business owners reported benefits such as simplified bookkeeping, faster payment processing, and enhanced transaction security. This program demonstrates that QRIS-based digital payment systems can be effectively implemented in traditional MSMEs through proper mentoring and hands-on guidance. The initiative also plays a strategic role in promoting financial inclusion and strengthening MSME competitiveness in tourism areas. Continued efforts remain necessary, particularly in enhancing digital literacy and expanding access to supporting technology to ensure equitable adoption of digital payment systems.

This community service program aims to improve the accountability and financial management capabilities of small businesses through the implementation of simple bookkeeping based on Excel templates at the Permata Chips MSME in Sentang Village, Asahan Regency. The main problems faced by partners were the lack of a transaction recording system, the mixing of business and personal finances, and the lack of financial reports that could be used to evaluate business performance. Through counseling, training, and technical assistance, this program succeeded in improving partners' financial literacy in preparing Excel-based Daily Cash Books, Profit and Loss Reports, Cash Flow Reports, and Balance Sheets. The results of the activity showed significant changes, where partners were able to record transactions systematically, document transaction evidence, and separate personal and business finances. The implementation of this bookkeeping became the basis for business decision-making and opened up opportunities for access to capital. This community service activity aims to improve basic accounting literacy for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through financial recording training and simple financial report making. Many MSME actors do not have a neat bookkeeping system, making it difficult to find out net income and access financing from financial institutions. Therefore, the introduction of simple accounting is a strategic step to encourage more professional and sustainable business management. This activity was carried out by a team of lecturers accompanied by students, with a participatory approach and based on direct practice. The training material includes basic understanding of accounting, recording daily transactions, preparing income statements, and simulating the use of financial statements for working capital submissions. Through this method, it is hoped that there will be an effective and applicable transfer of knowledge from academics to the public. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to understand the importance of financial recording and began to implement a simple bookkeeping system in their business operations. In addition, participants also showed increased confidence in compiling financial statements that can be used as supporting documents in applying for financing to cooperatives, banks, or other financial institutions. This activity not only provides practical benefits for MSME actors, but also strengthens the role of universities in community economic empowerment. In the future, similar activities can be developed with the integration of digital technology to support more efficient and accurate financial recording.

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have a crucial role in the Indonesian economy. However, MSMEs often face a number of obstacles caused by certain factors, such as low levels of education, lack of understanding of information technology, and unreliability in presenting financial reports. The aim of this service activity is to provide training to MSMEs who are members of the OKE OCE Melawai program regarding simple bookkeeping using the Excel application, in accordance with SAK UMKM standards. This activity involves several stages, including a pre-assessment questionnaire, tutorial, practical training, and a simple accounting assessment. In the initial investigation stage before implementing community service activities, it was discovered that the majority of OKE OCE Melawai MSMEs still used manual ledgers to manage their accounts, which ultimately affected the quality of financial reporting. A total of 46 MSMEs assisted by OKE OCE Melawai participated in this activity enthusiastically. The activity went well, and it is hoped that it will produce Microsoft Excel-based financial reports as the output of this community service. Thus, it is hoped that OKE OCE Melawai's MSMEs can improve their basic skills and understanding in the field of accounting, and be able to present quality financial reporting data using Microsoft Excel according to accounting standards.

The aim of writing this journal is to determine the application of digital-based accounting information systems in the bookkeeping of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as understanding the importance of using digital technology for MSME players. By using case study methods from research and related journals, it shows that the implementation of accounting information systems by utilizing technology in MSMEs is currently starting to increase, as in MSME players who previously still used manual sales activities are now starting to utilize technology in sales and payment. However, MSMEs still prepare and manage accounting openings manually (traditionally) using paper. Counseling and training continues to be carried out so that it is hoped that the current rapid advances in technology can make it easier for MSMEs to carry out digital accounting which is more effective and efficient, and can also become MSMEs that are open to technological advances.

The SME empowerment policy is generally directed at supporting efforts to overcome poverty and inequality, create job opportunities and increase exports, as well as agricultural and rural revitalization, which are national development priorities. In addition, the development of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is directed at making a significant contribution to creating job opportunities, increasing exports and increasing competitiveness. This Community Service Activity (PKM) is focused on MSMEs in Pagerharjo Village, Kulon Progo Regency. The reason for choosing this service location is because Pagerharjo Village is an Independent Cultural Village which has implemented the Preneur Village program since 2019. The Preneur Village is currently still active and developing. The problem with MSMEs, under the management of BUMDes Binangun Pagerharjo in Pagerharjo Village, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo Regency, is the lack of entrepreneurial spirit and financial bookkeeping which, on average, is still done manually. The results of the service include responses and evaluations from participants regarding the training that has been provided. The response was given by the Director of BUMDes who was impressed with the training provided which was different from the training that had been provided previously. Previous training involved mostly listening to lectures, whereas the current training involves participants being active in solving the various problems they face. The evaluation results show that the participants' knowledge has increased and their insight into their business has also increased. It turns out that producing a business is not only based on generations, but also requires innovation so that marketing will continue to develop and financial management will also improve.
