The food and beverage industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly through digital marketing, particularly through the role of influencers in influencing consumer preferences and purchase intentions. Several influencers are no longer merely collaborating with brands, but are also becoming business owners by leveraging their personal branding and follower base. However, when promoting their own products, the effectiveness of these strategies on purchase intentions is not always consistent. This study aims to examine the influence of the Theory of Planned Behaviour on purchase intention and analyse the role of Parasocial Relationship through influencer authenticity and influencer trustworthiness in regional cuisine at RM Padang Payakumbuah. The research uses a quantitative approach with data from 182 respondents in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, analysed using PLS-SEM. The results show that attitude and influencer authenticity do not have a significant effect on purchase intention, while subjective norm and perceived behavioural control have a significant effect. Furthermore, influencer trustworthiness strengthens the relationship between perceived behavioural control and purchase intention. These findings emphasise the importance of social recommendations, ease of purchase access, and building trust towards influencers.

This study investigates the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and corporate financial distress, with board gender diversity examined as a moderating variable. Using 96 firm-year observations from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (2022–2024), the analysis employs variance-based Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The findings reveal that ESG performance does not exert a statistically significant effect on financial distress, and gender diversity does not moderate this relationship. These non-significant results constitute the central empirical contribution of the study, highlighting that ESG engagement and gender diversity have yet to translate into financial resilience in the Indonesian manufacturing context. The study underscores the importance of contextual factors—such as implementation costs, authenticity of ESG disclosures, and limited female representation on boards—in shaping the effectiveness of sustainability practices. The results provide theoretical implications for Stakeholder and Agency Theory and offer practical insights for managers, regulators, and investors in emerging markets.

The local cosmetics industry in Indonesia continues to grow rapidly and has become increasingly popular among Generation Z. However, the boycott issue against ESQA Cosmetics, triggered by a controversy involving one of its founders, has led to a decline in consumer trust. This study aims to examine the influence of social media marketing on purchase intention through brand trust in the case of ESQA Cosmetics. The research was conducted in Bali using a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire involving 110 Generation Z respondents who had never purchased ESQA products but had interacted with ESQA’s official social media account (@esqacosmetics). Data analysis was performed using SmartPLS with mediation testing to examine the relationships among variables. The results indicate that social media marketing has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention through brand trust, suggesting that the effectiveness of social media strategies can strengthen brand trust and ultimately increase consumer purchase intention. This finding highlights that brand trust serves as a key psychological mechanism linking social media marketing to purchase behavior. The study recommends that ESQA Cosmetics enhance interaction and transparency in its social media communication, provide prompt responses to consumers, and emphasize the authenticity and benefits of its products to rebuild trust and strengthen purchase intention following the boycott issue.

This study aims to analyze the levels of reducing sugars and sucrose in Trigona honey using the Luff Schoorl method as a key parameter for assessing honey quality and authenticity. Trigona honey, produced by stingless bees, possesses unique physicochemical characteristics that differ from Apis mellifera honey, thus requiring further scientific investigation of its sugar profile. The analysis was performed at the BSPJI Pekanbaru Laboratory using a titrimetric procedure based on the Luff Schoorl reagent, involving the determination of reducing sugars and sucrose following hydrolysis. The results revealed that the reducing sugar content of the Trigona honey sample was 31.75%, while the sucrose content was 9.6%. These values do not comply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 8664:2018), which requires a minimum of 55% reducing sugars and a maximum of 5% sucrose in honey. The non-conformity is presumed to be influenced by factors such as nectar source, high moisture content, premature harvesting, and storage conditions. Nevertheless, the deviation from the standard does not necessarily indicate adulteration but may reflect the natural characteristics of stingless bee honey. This research provides scientific evidence that may contribute to the evaluation of specific quality standards for Trigona honey in Indonesia and serve as a reference for future studies related to authentication and standardization of stingless bee honey products.

This research aims to determine the influence of the role-playing method on the creativity of early childhood at Miftahul Jannah TPA. Creativity as an important aspect of development needs to be stimulated from an early age through activities that are fun and meaningful for children. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest design, where researchers measure creativity before and after role-playing treatment. The research results show that the role playing method has a positive influence on the development of children's creativity. This can be seen from the increase in scores on several indicators of creativity, such as the ability to generate ideas, elaboration and concentration. The elaboration indicator received the highest score in the very good category, indicating that children were able to add details and enrich the storyline during role play. However, the indicators of flexibility and authenticity are still in the poor category and require further stimulation. Overall, an average creativity score of 54 was obtained, which shows that role playing is effective in stimulating children's creativity. These findings emphasize that role-playing methods need to be applied variedly and continuously in learning to optimize the creativity of early childhood.

Pacu Jalur is a traditional longboat race of the Malay community in Kuantan Singingi, Riau, which has served as a symbol of local cultural identity since the 17th century. In the last three years, this tradition has gone viral on TikTok, reaching millions of international viewers through hashtags such as #pacujalur and #indonesianboatracing. This study aims to analyze the role of Pacu Jalur’s virality as an instrument of Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy in the digital era. The method used is literature study with a thematic analysis approach, combining theories of soft power, digital cultural diplomacy, and cultural identity. The results show that Pacu Jalur’s virality expands cultural exposure to global audiences and strengthens local identity, while simultaneously highlighting the collective values of solidarity, teamwork, and aesthetic traditions embedded in the longboat race. At the same time, this phenomenon raises potential risks of cultural distortion due to commercialization, over-simplification of meaning, and the dominance of digital content logic that prioritizes visual appeal and entertainment value over historical and spiritual dimensions. These findings underscore the dual nature of viral cultural content: as both an opportunity for cultural diplomacy and a challenge for authenticity preservation. Therefore, this research highlights the importance of digital literacy, strategic collaboration between cultural stakeholders, and adaptive policy frameworks to ensure that the viral presence of Pacu Jalur on global digital platforms reflects authentic cultural values and serves as a sustainable instrument of Indonesia’s soft power in the contemporary international arena.

This research presents a phenomenological inquiry aimed at deconstructing the conventional marketing paradigm and offering a deeper understanding of alternative practices. It specifically explores the anti-marketing strategy grounded in Islamic values as implemented at Warung Jendil Mbah Yamah, a traditional micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) located in Blitar, East Java. Employing a qualitative approach combined with a phenomenological method, the study gathered rich and nuanced data through several techniques, including in-depth interviews with nine carefully selected informants, participatory observation over an extended period, and systematic documentation studies. The thematic data analysis conducted by the researchers revealed that the warung’s anti-marketing strategy rests firmly on three interconnected pillars: (1) a strong reliance on organic word-of-mouth  communication rather than paid advertising, (2) the deliberate creation of an authentic, personal, and inclusive customer experience that builds emotional bonds with visitors, and (3) the consistent integration of Islamic ethical values into every aspect of business operations. These findings provide a meaningful theoretical contribution by synthesizing the concepts of anti-marketing and Islamic entrepreneurship into a new model of “authentic marketing,” where ethical and spiritual values serve as the strategic foundation for long-term sustainability. In practical terms, the results offer guidance for the broader development of MSMEs in Indonesia, showing that authenticity, ethical commitment, and adherence to core values can represent a stronger and more sustainable competitive advantage than conventional promotional strategies.

The digital age has brought significant transformations to various sectors, including religious scholarship, where traditional structures of authority are being challenged by the rise of digital media and influencers. This study explores the implications of digital disruption in the Islamic context, focusing on how digital platforms are reshaping authority and epistemic legitimacy. In particular, the emergence of "religious digital creatives" is analyzed, highlighting how these influencers, often with little formal training but significant digital communication skills, have redefined religious authority. This shift away from traditional scholars, such as the ulama, who have been the custodians of religious knowledge, raises concerns about the authenticity and quality of religious teachings disseminated online. The study also examines the role of algorithm driven platforms, like AI-driven tafsir apps, and their impact on Islamic legal derivation and interpretation. While these platforms enhance accessibility, they also present challenges related to standardization and authenticity. By comparing traditional Islamic epistemology, which balances divine revelation, human reason, and scholarly rigor, with the decentralized authority of digital platforms, the study underscores the need for maintaining scholarly integrity and moral responsibility in the digital era. The research also highlights the importance of community trust in traditional scholarship, which is undermined by the lack of accountability in digital content. Ultimately, this study provides a framework for understanding the evolving relationship between Islamic epistemology and digital media, offering recommendations for preserving the core values of traditional scholarship while embracing the opportunities of digital innovation.

This study investigates whether artificial intelligence (AI) can generate credible accounting research articles. If AI is capable of producing high-quality academic work, the authenticity and reliability of scholarly research could be at risk. Design/methodology/approach – Using ChatGPT, a research paper was generated on a meta-analysis examining the link between sustainability reporting and value relevance. After the initial draft was produced, references were manually inserted based on the citations provided by ChatGPT. The paper was then submitted unchanged for peer review. Findings – The AI-generated paper was of reasonably high quality, receiving two major revisions from independent experts in accounting and finance. While concerns remain about the accuracy of references and the validity of results, there is a possibility that reviewers might deem the paper publishable, as they are not obligated to verify every citation or replicate findings if the methodology appears sound. Originality/value – AI’s role in academic writing is still emerging, and its long-term implications for research integrity remain unclear. This issue is particularly pressing given the rapid advancements in AI technology.

Arabic language instruction has traditionally centered on classical Islamic texts, emphasizing rote memorization, mastery of grammar (naḥw), and rhetorical eloquence (balāghah), which, while preserving linguistic authenticity, often fail to meet the evolving educational demands of the 21st century. In an age marked by rapid technological advancement and shifting pedagogical paradigms, there is a critical need to reform Arabic teaching by integrating traditional methods with digital tools and interdisciplinary approaches. This study adopts a qualitative, literature-based methodology to explore both the foundational principles of classical pedagogy and recent innovations, including learning management systems, gamification, and AI-enhanced learning technologies. Through comparative analysis, the research identifies key disjunctions and overlaps between heritage-based teaching and modern digital practices. From this synthesis, the study proposes a reconstructed pedagogical model built on four core elements: cognitive-linguistic scaffolding, digital integration, sociocultural contextualization, and multidisciplinary instruction. This integrative approach not only fosters greater student engagement but also promotes character development in line with the objectives of Islamic education (maqāṣid al-sharīʿah). Furthermore, it supports a more adaptive and culturally responsive learning environment, contributing to broader educational reform efforts aimed at holistic learning. The findings suggest that such a model is particularly well-suited to Islamic higher education contexts while also being adaptable to global academic systems. By bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, this framework offers both a theoretical and practical foundation for modernizing Arabic language pedagogy. It holds implications for curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational policy, advocating for a future-oriented yet culturally rooted approach to language education that respects heritage while embracing necessary transformation.

The rapid development of information technology has significantly driven the growth of e-commerce as one of the main channels in modern commercial activities. In the beauty product sector, digital platforms offer consumers easier access and simultaneously expand market reach for business actors. However, this advancement also brings various challenges, particularly in relation to consumer protection. Common issues include product authenticity, information transparency, transaction security, and dispute resolution mechanisms. In this context, legal protection for consumers has become an urgent matter that cannot be overlooked. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection available to consumers of beauty products in e-commerce transactions and to assess the effectiveness of existing regulations in addressing these challenges. Using a normative juridical approach, the study evaluates relevant legislation, such as Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, along with other regulations related to electronic transactions. The findings reveal that although legal instruments have been established to safeguard consumer rights, their implementation still encounters obstacles, including limited supervision of online business actors and low consumer literacy regarding their rights. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen regulations, improve consumer education, and optimize the roles of supervisory and dispute resolution institutions. In this way, the consumer protection system in the e-commerce sector—particularly for beauty products—can operate more effectively and provide a greater sense of security for the public in conducting digital transactions.
