Indonesia represents one of the world's most complex and dynamic linguistic ecosystems, harboring over 700 regional languages alongside the national language (Bahasa Indonesia) and Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO). This synthesis study provides comprehensive analysis of the Indonesian linguistic landscape, integrating findings from five complementary large-scale investigations conducted 2020–2024: code-switching patterns in digital communication; typological uniqueness of Indonesia's tenseless temporal system; linguistic complexity of BISINDO and barriers to deaf inclusion; sociolinguistic stratification through first-person pronoun variation; and critical endangerment of regional languages. The synthesis employed integrative methodology encompassing 3,550 total participants, 20,000+ linguistic tokens, 18 months of ethnographic fieldwork, and analysis of 150 languages and 25 revitalization programs. Synthesis reveals five interconnected dynamics: (1) centripetal standardization through education, urbanization, and media; (2) centrifugal diversification through identity construction and social stratification; (3) typological persistence maintaining Indonesian distinctiveness despite contact; (4) parallel endangerment affecting regional languages and BISINDO; and (5) ideology-driven change linking language choice to modernity and prestige. These dynamics produce dynamic tension between homogenization and diversification. Indonesia's linguistic future depends on whether policies can balance national unity through Indonesian and linguistic diversity through regional language and BISINDO protection.

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and tools like Canva has revolutionized English Language Teaching (ELT) in Indonesia, shifting from traditional methods to interactive, student-centered approaches. This study aims to explore the benefits and challenges of incorporating these technologies into ELT practices. Employing a qualitative literature review methodology, the research analyzed over 20 empirical studies from 2020 to 2023 on Canva and ICT in Indonesian ELT, supplemented by global Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) frameworks. Key findings reveal that ICT and Canva enhance student motivation, creativity, and communicative skills through multimodal and constructivist learning, while fostering authentic language exposure and collaboration. However, challenges include inadequate infrastructure, limited teacher training, digital inequities between urban and rural areas, ethical issues such as copyright infringement, and increased teacher workload. The implications underscore the need for systematic professional development, institutional support, curriculum alignment, and policies promoting equitable access to ensure transformative and sustainable technology integration in Indonesian ELT.

Film as a form of mass media has an important role in the socio-cultural, artistic, political, as well as scientific realms. Cek Toko Lado 2 is a continuation of the story of the Chinese family of Koh Afuk which is in the comedy genre and directed by Ernest Prakasa. This film not only presents entertainment, but also presents family dynamics, parental expectations, and challenges in maintaining family business while building trust between fellow family members. The stories presented are able to illustrate the social reality of urban communities who are often faced with a dilemma between family interests and individual freedom. The purpose of this research is to analyze the struggle of Erwin's character in fighting for his love for Natalie and his efforts to get the blessing of his future in-laws. The research method used is qualitative with the approach of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. The data source was obtained through direct observation of scenes and dialogues in the film, and reinforced by documentation and literature studies. The results of the study show that Erwin's struggle can be understood through three main elements in Peirce's semiotics, namely sign, object, and interpretant. First, the spirit of never giving up is reflected in Erwin's consistency in facing various obstacles. Second, the attitude of responsibility can be seen from Erwin's commitment to his career and the romantic relationship he is living. Third, the willingness to sacrifice is evident when Erwin prioritizes personal interests in order to gain the blessing of Natalie's family. In conclusion, this study emphasizes that films not only function as a means of entertainment, but also as a social learning medium that conveys moral messages about struggle, sacrifice, and the importance of trust in family relationships and romance. Thus, Cek Toko Lado 2 is able to be a relevant and inspiring social reflection for the audience, especially urban people who are facing the dynamics of family life and love.

Slang is a form of language that develops among teenagers, especially in urban environments, which often combines foreign elements or modifications of Indonesian. This research aims to identify the influence of the use of slang on the purity of Indonesian among teenagers. The main focus in making research is how the use of slang can have a positive and negative impact on Indonesian language skills in accordance with standard rules and structures. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, through interviews and observations of teenagers who often use slang. The research results show that although slang enriches vocabulary and provides space for self-expression, excessive use of slang can interfere with correct understanding of Indonesian, especially in formal communication contexts. Therefore, a balance between the use of slang and standard Indonesian is very necessary, especially among teenagers, to maintain the purity of the Indonesian language.

Household waste management in urban areas is a complex environmental challenge due to the increasing volume of waste each year. Poorly managed waste has the potential to cause environmental issues, such as water, soil, and air pollution, as well as health impacts on the community. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide training in processing household waste into economically valuable products for urban communities in Baguala District, Ambon City. The training activities encompass various stages, from education on waste sorting, techniques for processing organic waste into compost, to processing inorganic waste into crafts and recycled products with market value. Through this training, it is hoped that the community will understand the importance of sustainable waste management and be able to utilize household waste as an additional source of income. The results of the activities show that participants are able to process household waste into economically valuable products, such as compost and recycled crafts. This program not only contributes to reducing urban waste but also supports community economic empowerment through a circular economy approach.

In contemporary Indonesia, Neo-Sufism has emerged as a significant paradigm for Islamic social da'wah, particularly in response to growing spiritual disorientation, religious radicalism, and socio-cultural fragmentation in urban contexts. This research explores how institutionalized Sufi orders, especially those rooted in traditional tarekat such as TQN is redefining their spiritual missions through transformative, socially-engaged practices. Using a qualitative library-based methodology, the study analyzes primary and secondary texts to trace how core Sufi values—such as ikhlas (sincerity), sabr (patience), and zuhd (asceticism)—are applied within modern da'wah strategies. Rather than functioning as apolitical or inward-facing traditions, these Sufi orders have implemented socially responsive initiatives including pesantren-based empowerment, Sufi clinics, and ethical microeconomics. The findings challenge stereotypes of Sufism as detached from social realities and instead position Neo-Sufism as a framework for moral reform and community development. This rearticulation of Sufism not only addresses urban spiritual crises but also contributes a sustainable and values-based model of religious engagement. To ensure continued relevance, the study recommends strengthening urban Sufi literacy and institutional collaboration among tarekat networks.

Digital development in urban and rural areas is developing unevenly. The development of technology and information tends to still be centered in urban areas. This then makes it difficult for rural communities to compete in increasing their product sales because of limited access to technological tools and information. In addition, people in rural areas still use traditional marketing methods in marketing their products. Through the use of digital marketing, it is hoped that people will be able to increase their sales through this method. The use of digital marketing media as a promotional medium will allow business actors to have a wider reach in finding new customers, so that it is the key to increasing product sales and strengthening their presence in an increasingly competitive market. Based on these conditions, efforts need to be made in utilizing digital marketing to increase sales so that they can generate more sales and be widely known to the public. The initial step taken by the community service team was to provide socialization to the community regarding training on the use of digital marketing that would be applied to the business group.
