Socks are essential daily wear that require special care, including an effective drying process to prevent unpleasant odors and the growth of bacteria and fungi. Conventional drying methods often face challenges, especially in high-humidity environments or during unfavorable weather conditions. This study aims to design and develop a prototype sock dryer that is more efficient and hygienic. The prototype utilizes a combination of a heater, UV lamp, and humidity and temperature sensors to ensure optimal drying without damaging fabric fibers. A microcontroller-based control system using Arduino Uno is implemented to regulate device operation and monitor sock conditions during drying. Testing results indicate that the device effectively dries cotton socks in damp conditions faster than conventional methods. Additionally, the sterilization feature with a UV lamp helps reduce the risk of microbial growth. This innovation is expected to provide users with a practical, hygienic, and efficient way to dry socks without depending on weather conditions. Further development can be carried out to enhance drying capacity and energy efficiency.

Indonesia's democracy, despite over two decades of progress since the fall of the New Order regime, has faced stagnation and democratic backsliding in recent years. Indicators from institutions such as the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Freedom House, and Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) consistently highlight a decline in democratic quality. Contributing factors include identity politics, declining electoral integrity, political dynasties, and weak institutional capacities, described as "Low-Capacity Democracy." This study employs a qualitative approach to explore these challenges, including literature reviews, document analysis, and interviews. The findings reveal systemic issues at both institutional and societal levels, including weakened oversight bodies like the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the dominance of executive power, and the rise of transactional politics and political dynasties. Digital challenges, such as disinformation and low digital literacy, also exacerbate these issues. This study recommends comprehensive reforms, such as strengthening independent institutions, enhancing transparency in public fund management, and improving political education to reduce transactional practices. Digital media regulations and technology-based electoral monitoring are also proposed to increase transparency. By addressing these issues, Indonesia can reinforce democratic resilience and foster an inclusive, accountable political system.

The increasing population triggers a demand for land for housing and other activities. Along with this, issues arise regarding the limited availability of land, especially in rapidly developed areas. This limitation has the potential to create an imbalance between the growing need for space and the existing land capacity. This study evaluates the land carrying capacity in four sub-districts in the southern part of Medan City, namely Medan Tuntungan, Medan Johor, Medan Amplas, and Medan Denai, in dealing with the continuously growing population. Using a spatial analysis approach with ArcGIS 10.8 software and detailed spatial data, this research identifies potential areas for residential development and projects the capacity of land to accommodate future populations. The analysis covers physical and environmental aspects such as land slope, soil type, natural disaster risks, and access to public facilities. The results show that each sub-district has different potentials and challenges. Medan Tuntungan, with its large area and flat land conditions, shows significant potential for residential development, although attention must be given to the existence of protected areas and agricultural land that must be preserved. Medan Johor, as an economic center, faces substantial pressure on land use, with some areas nearing their maximum capacity. Medan Amplas and Medan Denai, which are more urban, experience stricter land limitations. Population growth projections indicate a significant increase in land demand in some sub-districts in the coming decades. Without effective management, this has the potential to exert high pressure on the environment and urban infrastructure. This research emphasizes the importance of spatial planning and sustainable development policies to maintain a balance between housing needs and environmental conservation.

The development of digital technology based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on society, including the emergence of new crimes such as deepfake pornography. Deepfake pornography is a form of AI misuse that creates fake pornographic content by manipulating a person's face into a video or image without consent. This phenomenon raises complex legal issues within the Indonesian criminal law system. This study aims to examine how Indonesian criminal law regulates AI deviations in the form of deepfake pornography and to assess the effectiveness of these regulations in providing legal protection. This research uses a normative approach with qualitative analysis methods and the theory of legal effectiveness as the analytical tool. The research findings indicate that AI deviations in the form of deepfake pornography are not specifically regulated in Indonesia's positive criminal law. The applicable regulations are still general in nature, scattered across several laws such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), Personal Data Protection Law, Pornography Law, Sexual Violence Criminal Act Law, Copyright Law, and the Criminal Code (KUHP), which do not comprehensively address the technological aspects and psychosocial impacts of this crime. Based on Soerjono Soekanto's theory of legal effectiveness, the existing regulations are not yet effective, as seen from the legal substance, law enforcement, legal facilities and infrastructure, community factors, and legal culture. Therefore, a responsive legal reform is needed to keep pace with digital technological developments, along with strengthening the capacity of law enforcement institutions.

The issue of limited employment access for persons with disabilities is a strategic concern that demands serious attention, particularly in Medan City. Unit Layanan Disabilitas (ULD) under the Department of Manpower of Medan City was established as a government initiative to support persons with disabilities in obtaining equal employment rights. ULD has demonstrated positive initiatives through skills training, coordination with companies, and the placement of workers with disabilities. However, its effectiveness in realizing inclusive employment still faces various internal challenges, such as limited personnel capacity and suboptimal work structure. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The data was analyzed qualitatively usingInstitutional Capacity Development indicators proposed by Merilee S. Grindle (1997), which include three dimensions: Human Resource Development, Organizational Strengthening, and Institutional Reform. The results of this study indicate thatthat in the dimension of human resource development, some ULD members have not received adequate training, there are no specialized assistants, and the recruitment process is not yet based on specific competencies. In terms of organizational strengthening, unclear division of tasks, weak internal communication systems, and suboptimal leadership in directing cross-sectoral teamwork were identified. Meanwhile, in the institutional reform dimension, there is still a lack of concrete policy support from the local government. Nevertheless, ULD has successfully facilitated the employment of 42 persons with disabilities in companies that provide inclusive job opportunities to fulfill the 1% employment quota for persons with disabilities

Building agreement and influencing public opinion need effective communication. As a means of expressing ideas, language creates emotions that are used for political advantages during an electoral campaign. Human existence and the maintenance of connections depend on communication, a complex process. In actuality, human interactions are lubricated by this substance. Despite its importance, communication has two sides and can be applied either favorably or unfavorably. From the standpoint of its capacity for complexity, Boulton (2019, p. 41) pointed to the negative social intent of language. She also noted that language is frequently employed to deceive rather than to communicate. Human existence and the maintenance of connections depend on communication, a complex process. Performance audit is a strategic instrument to strengthen transparency and accountability in the governance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). However, current practices of BUMDes auditing in Indonesia remain limited, fragmented, and often fail to uphold the principles of good governance. This study aims to identify and synthesize the implementation of performance audits in BUMDes across various regions through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 28 articles published between 2013 and 2024. Sources were obtained from Scopus, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and Garuda, with thematic analysis applied. The study identifies five core issues: weak internal audit mechanisms, limited community participation, low utilization of information technology, cultural resistance, and the role of audits in improving village economic performance. The paper proposes a participatory audit model grounded in local familial values and supported by appropriate digital tools. This hybrid model is contextually suited to promote accountability in rural areas where institutional capacity is limited but social cohesion is strong. Theoretically, this research extends the relevance of stewardship theory and participatory governance to micro-level public sector entities. Policy implications highlight the need for adaptive, community-based audit mechanisms as a foundation for accountable rural development

This study evaluates the impact of distributed solar-battery systems on urban electricity resilience and community carbon emissions reduction. As urban areas continue to grow, the demand for electricity has placed considerable strain on traditional centralized grids, resulting in increased vulnerabilities. The integration of decentralized energy resources (DERs), particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) systems paired with battery energy storage systems (BESS), has emerged as a promising solution to enhance grid resilience, reduce carbon emissions, and support the transition to more sustainable energy systems. This research uses a simulation-based approach to model the integration of solar-battery systems into residential blocks, assessing their impact on grid reliability, downtime reduction, and the frequency of power outages. Additionally, the study estimates the reduction in carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions achieved by shifting from fossil-fuel-based energy generation to renewable sources such as solar PV. The results demonstrate that solar-battery systems significantly improve electricity reliability by providing backup power during outages, while also reducing CO₂ emissions by decreasing reliance on conventional grids. The study also discusses the technical and financial challenges associated with the integration of these systems, such as energy storage capacity, system efficiency, and upfront installation costs. Policy recommendations emphasize the importance of government incentives, grid modernization, and long-term financial benefits to encourage the adoption of decentralized energy solutions. Finally, the study highlights areas for future research, including advanced storage technologies and the integration of electric vehicles with solar-battery systems to further enhance energy resilience and sustainability.

This study aims to analyze the criminal law liability of the perpetrators in the case of corruption in the procurement of red onion seeds in Malaka Regency based on four decisions of the Kupang District Court: Decision of the KUPANG District Court Number 39 / Pid.Sus-TPK / 2023 / PN Kpg, Decision of the KUPANG District Court Number 40 / Pid.Sus-TPK / 2023 / PN Kpg, Decision of the KUPANG District Court Number 41 / Pid.Sus-TPK / 2023 / PN Kpg, and Decision of the KUPANG District Court Number 42 / Pid.Sus-TPK / 2023 / PN Kpg. This study uses a normative legal approach supported by empirical data through interviews with advocates, prosecutors, and judges. The results of the study indicate that the elements in Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001 has been cumulatively fulfilled in this case, namely the abuse of authority, state financial losses, and benefits for oneself or others. The application of the article to all defendants is considered legally valid, but in practice it does not fully reflect substantive justice because the roles and levels of involvement are not distinguished proportionally. The judge's decision and the prosecutor's indictment are considered consistent in normative aspects, but still leave challenges in terms of assessing the burden of proof and classification of criminal responsibility. This finding recommends the importance of evaluating the criminalization system, strengthening the capacity of procurement officials, and updating policies that distinguish between administrative errors and criminal acts of corruption.
