This article aims to analyze the relevance and implementation of Islamic economic principles within the context of a contemporary economic system dominated by capitalist paradigms. The background of this research stems from the global reality marked by wealth distribution inequality, moral crises in business, and social injustices resulting from profit-oriented economic systems. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing scholarly works, official institutional reports, and academic studies related to Islamic economics and modern economic challenges. The findings indicate that Islamic economic principles such as social justice, equitable wealth distribution, and the prohibition of riba (usury), gharar (excessive uncertainty), and maysir (gambling) hold strong applicative value in addressing various contemporary economic issues. Concrete implementations of these principles can be observed in the development of Islamic financial systems, digital zakat (almsgiving), productive waqf (endowments), and increasingly innovative and technology-responsive Islamic banking services. The discussion also reveals that Islamic economics can serve as an ethical and sustainable alternative to capitalism and socialism, particularly in terms of distributive justice and economic stability. Despite facing challenges in literacy, regulation, and technological infrastructure, Islamic economics has significant growth potential through collaboration among academics, practitioners, and policymakers. The conclusion of this study affirms that Islamic economic principles can serve as a transformative solution for the global economic system if applied adaptively, innovatively, and inclusively.

This study aims to examine the legal protection of property brought into marriage that is mixed with joint property as a result of joint management in a marriage. In many cases, this mixing causes unclear legal status of the assets, especially during divorce or inheritance division. This study uses empirical normative legal methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data obtained were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. This study shows that legal regulations in Indonesia related to the protection of property brought into marriage that is mixed with joint property due to joint management in marriage, and highlights the inconsistency of court decisions in such disputes and their impact on household economic stability. Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law have distinguished between property brought into marriage and joint property, practice in the field shows that mixing of property due to joint management often causes conflict during divorce. Inconsistency in court decisions arises due to the unclear norms in Article 37 of the Marriage Law which provide room for different interpretations by judges. This has an impact on legal uncertainty and potential injustice, especially for parties who are socially or economically weaker. Mixed property disputes also affect household economic stability, exacerbate social inequality, and cause psychological burdens for family members, including children. This study recommends the need for more detailed regulatory updates, the issuance of technical guidelines by the Supreme Court to unify decision standards, and increased legal education for the community to prevent conflicts through marriage agreements.

Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing and multifaceted threats to national security across the globe, including in Indonesia. The consequences of climate change extend far beyond environmental degradation, posing significant risks to critical sectors such as food security, water resources, social cohesion, and the overall stability of national defense systems. Rising temperatures, shifting precipitation patterns, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events-such as floods, droughts, and storms-have direct and indirect impacts that undermine the resilience of communities and the functionality of state institutions. In Indonesia, a country characterized by its vast archipelago and diverse ecosystems, the climate crisis presents unique challenges. The vulnerability of coastal regions to sea-level rise threatens the livelihoods of millions, while disruptions in agricultural productivity jeopardize food availability and economic stability. Moreover, these environmental stresses exacerbate social inequalities and can trigger internal displacement, heightening the risk of social unrest and conflict. Such dynamics underscore the critical intersection between environmental changes and national security concerns.

Technology sector companies are known for rapid innovation but also face high uncertainty, which is likely to cause financial distress. In Indonesia, several technology firms publicly traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) experienced declining profitability and negative operating cash flows during the 2021–2023 period. The aim of this research is to examine the influence of profitability and operating cash flow on financial distress, with firm value as an intervening variable. The research addresses inconsistencies in financial indicators—declining profits do not always indicate financial distress, especially when firm value is not taken into account. Using secondary data from annual reports and the Investing website, this study makes use of a quantitative method involving path analysis. A purposive sampling technique resulted in 78 firm-year observations. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS software. It was found that both firm value is positively and significantly affected by profitability and operating cash flow. However, only operating cash flow and firm value have a statistically significant positive relationship with financial distress, unlike profitability. Furthermore, firm value does not mediate the relationship between profitability and financial distress but does mediate the relationship between operating cash flow and financial distress. These findings suggest that operating cash flow is a more reliable indicator than profitability in predicting financial distress and emphasize the mediating role of firm value in financial instability.

This study aims to determine how nano chitosan is produced through the ionic gelation method. The process of making nano chitosan is carried out using variations in chitosan concentrations of 1%, 5%, and 10%, and using a magnetic stirrer. Morphological tests were carried out using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to observe the shape and size of the particles formed. The addition of TPP (Trisodium Tripolyphosphate) as a crosslinker and certain surfactants are used to increase particle stability. Treatment for ±2 hours showed optimal results in terms of a more homogeneous particle size distribution. Based on the results of SEM observations, it is known that increasing the concentration and time settings and the use of appropriate surfactants can reduce wrinkles in nano chitosan particles. The particle size obtained is in the range of 278–350 nm. Thus, the ionic gelation method has proven effective in producing uniform nano chitosan and has good morphology for further applications.

The life insurance industry plays a strategic role in the national financial system, not only as a provider of protection against life risks such as premature death or critical illness, but also as an instrument of long-term fund accumulation. Increased public awareness of the importance of risk protection has driven significant growth in the number of active policies. This condition has a direct impact on the risk exposure of claims that must be carefully managed by insurance companies. One of the main challenges in risk management is to accurately estimate the number of claims in a certain period, to support premium setting, technical reserve planning, and maintain the company's financial stability. This study aims to examine the use of Poisson regression model in estimating the frequency of life insurance claims based on the number of active policies in life insurance company. The data used is simulative and represents an exponential relationship between the number of policies and claims. The model is analyzed using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) approach and evaluated through goodness-of-fit indicators such as deviance, Pearson chi-square, log-likelihood, and Mean Squared Error (MSE). The results of the analysis show that the Poisson regression model can capture the significant relationship pattern between the number of active policies and claims, and provide accurate prediction results. Thus, Poisson regression is proven to be a relevant and applicable statistical method in supporting strategic decision-making in insurance companies, especially in the context of data-driven risk management.

Clay soil stabilization is a crucial process to enhance the soil's bearing capacity and stability, making it more suitable for construction purposes. Stabilizing clay soils improves their mechanical properties, reduces swelling, and increases their load-bearing capacity, which is essential for the foundation of various structures. This study aims to investigate the effect of lime (CaO) addition and curing time on the physical properties of clay soil, particularly focusing on unconfined compressive strength (qu) and overall soil stability. The experimental methodology involved applying different percentages of lime content (ranging from 3% to 7%) and varying curing times (7, 14, and 28 days). The soil samples were tested for their unconfined compressive strength after each combination of lime content and curing duration. The results indicated that the addition of 5% lime (CaO) and curing for 14 days led to a significant improvement in the unconfined compressive strength by 153.3%, compared to the untreated clay soil. Furthermore, increasing the curing time beyond 14 days did not show substantial improvements in strength, suggesting that 14 days is the optimal curing period for this combination. The study also highlighted that the lime treatment not only enhanced the mechanical properties but also reduced the plasticity of the clay, making it more stable and easier to handle during construction. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the appropriate combination of lime content and curing time plays a significant role in improving the stability of clay soils. This research provides valuable insights into optimizing soil stabilization techniques, offering an effective solution for enhancing soil properties for engineering applications

This research aims to analyze the trade-off between unemployment and inflation, as well as government policies from an Islamic perspective. Inflation and unemployment issues remain primary challenges for governments in maintaining economic stability. Unlike conventional economic perspectives that accept the trade-off between these two variables, Islamic economics offers a more integrative and holistic approach. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes various literature related to the relationship between unemployment and inflation from both conventional and Islamic economic perspectives. Research findings reveal that in conventional economics, the Phillips Curve depicts a trade-off between unemployment and inflation in the short term, though its validity is questioned in the long term. In contrast, from an Islamic economic perspective, there is no dichotomy between reducing unemployment and controlling inflation, as both can be addressed simultaneously through a just economic system aligned with Sharia principles. Islamic economics offers solutions through strengthening the real sector, profit-sharing financial systems, and implementing zakat, infaq, and waqf instruments that can create employment without generating inflationary pressures. This research provides insights into government policies that align with Sharia values in addressing current macroeconomic challenges.
