The growing complexity of maritime operations demands deck officers with advanced competencies and a strong understanding of sustainability principles. This study addresses critical gaps in maritime vocational education by exploring the effectiveness of current training programs, the integration of sustainability, and the role of technology-driven approaches. While previous research has focused on technical skills aligned with STCW standards, limited attention has been paid to leadership, communication, and environmental education. The research sought to answer how maritime training can be enhanced to address these gaps. Using a systematic literature review and qualitative analysis of insights from maritime professionals, educators, and graduates, the study synthesized theoretical frameworks with real-world experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, analyzed using thematic coding, and triangulated with findings from the literature review. The results demonstrate strong technical training aligned with STCW standards but reveal fragmented sustainability integration and inadequate leadership preparation. Simulation-based training was identified as highly effective, though it requires support from mentorship and real-world experiences. The findings provide actionable recommendations for enhancing curricula, fostering industry-academic partnerships, and refining policies to better prepare deck officers for modern maritime challenges. This research offers a practical roadmap for transforming maritime education, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability in global maritime operations.

The aim of this community service activity is to form a cadre of students who are able to educate themselves on first aid for shortness of breath through simulations and for service participants to know first aid for shortness of breath. The method of implementing this activity was carried out through lecture and simulation methods involving 4 cadres and 21 student participants from Hasanuddin Pare Vocational School. This activity was carried out on 10 - 12 October 2024. The service activities were carried out in 2 sessions where the first session was cadre empowerment through cadre training activities regarding first aid for shortness of breath and the second session was the presentation of material by trained cadres which was delivered to community service participants. The results of this community service activity were that trained cadres were able to deliver the material well and there was an increase in participants' knowledge and ability to provide first aid for shortness of breath after simulation education was carried out by trained cadres. Education using a simulation approach can increase students' understanding of the management of aid for shortness of breath so that they are able to provide first aid appropriately. The educational method with a simulation approach can be used as a medium for delivering information in pre-hospital first aid for cases of shortness of breath in students.

Teenagers today are filled with a number of rapid technological changes and developments. From a financial perspective, teenagers at this stage have a growing ability to understand the principles of saving and spending money, not only the basics, but also long-term goals. The three main areas that parents should focus on are income, savings, and responsible spending (shopping or investment). Problems that often occur in society (including teenagers) are such as wasteful living (lifestyle), online loan debt, and being trapped in online gambling. The emergence of several entertainment venues, cafes, and angkringan makes spending difficult for teenagers to control. The methods used in this service are lectures, simulations, discussions and questions and answers regarding the usefulness and benefits of understanding financial literacy. The results of this service show the different nature and patterns of financial management of teenagers requiring presentation patterns that need to be adjusted. In the implementation of the activity, there were participants (some) who were more enthusiastic or serious about this series of training. Presenters (speakers) require the application of andragogy model learning. This model is intended so that the presenter (material provider) and participants are not bored, comfortable in communicating and feedback appears quickly. In the future, training or workshops will be more directed to more technical or specific, for example capital market investment, mutual funds or other investment models.

Microteaching is a simulation or training for prospective teachers to explore the ability of skills in teaching that combines the components of learning. The purpose of this study was to analyse the implementation of microteaching learning in terms of the use of various biology learning media with a touch of technology. The method used is descriptive quantitative with observation sheets and interviews. This research uses a squential explanatory design that combines quantitative and qualitative methods sequentially the first stage of collecting and analysing quantitative data followed by collecting and analysing qualitative data to help explain quantitative results. The results of the study regarding the pattern of using technology-based learning media showed that PowerPoint 92% and learning videos 78% were the most widely used media in microteaching practice. While the level of effectiveness of the media used varies. The 4.6% digital microscope showed a high level of effectiveness even though the frequency of use was still low. This indicates that high technology-based learning media has considerable potential in improving the quality of learning. Furthermore, the analysis of students' digital competence shows that 70% of students have good to very good mastery of technology. Furthermore, creativity in media development shows an even distribution while time management is still a challenge for 35% of students at a sufficient or insufficient level. The use of technology-based learning media in micro teaching has considerable potential, but still faces several challenges. A systematic and comprehensive approach is needed to optimise the use of technology in developing the teaching competence of prospective biology teachers.

The method employed is a literature review by analyzing various sources related to Islamic value-based learning strategies. The findings indicate that strategies such as project-based learning, simulations, reflective discussions, story-based learning, collaborative activities, and social actions effectively foster empathy. These strategies provide profound emotional and social experiences while aligning with Islamic teachings. For example, storytelling about prophets and charity activities effectively instill empathy through direct and contextual experiences. In conclusion, fostering empathy requires a holistic approach integrating practical experiences with Islamic values. Educators are advised to receive training on implementing these strategies, while parents should model empathetic behavior at home. Future research is recommended to empirically evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies in various educational settings.
