Character education plays a crucial role in creating a generation with integrity amidst the rapid pace of global progress. In the era of globalization, the swift changes in social and technological landscapes demand individuals to possess strong character traits, such as integrity, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance, to effectively navigate various moral and social challenges. However, the weak implementation of character values within the education system often leads to an integrity crisis among the youth. This article aims to explore the importance of character education as a fundamental pillar in developing a generation capable of making positive contributions to the global society. The research method used in this study is a literature review, which includes analyzing various theories and studies on character education, as well as the critical roles of families, schools, and communities in the character development process. The analysis reveals that effectively integrated character education can shape individuals who are more responsible, ethical, and empathetic, ultimately strengthening social cohesion and enhancing national competitiveness. Character education not only improves cognitive aspects but also shapes consistent attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, character education should be a primary focus within the educational system, aiming to develop a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also morally upright, enabling them to face global challenges with strong integrity. This study explores the social and psychological dynamics of the collective expression of the Indonesian youth through the hashtag #KaburAjaDulu on TikTok social media, which reflects their concerns about inequality in access to work and lack of opportunities for self-development. This study uses qualitative methodology and a virtual ethnography approach to analyze data, covering social interactions and meaning construction in virtual communities. Primary data sources involve real-time monitoring using tools such as Brand24, which captures the frequency and sentiment of posts. Secondary data sources are obtained from literature related to labor migration, digital expression, and network society theory. Data collection techniques combine passive online observation and thematic classification, while data analysis is carried out through content analysis to identify dominant discourse patterns and sentiments. Data validity is tested using source triangulation, comparing netnography findings with scientific references and policy documentation. The results show that the hashtag #KaburAjaDulu is not just an expression of jokes, but a symbol of structural alienation and the aspirations of the young generation to seek better life opportunities abroad. The discussion highlights the implications of this social critique for migration policies and the protection of migrant workers. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of adaptive government responses and more inclusive policies to address the aspirations of the younger generation.

Community-based tourism is a form of tourism development managed by local communities with the aim of providing direct benefits to the local population. Lubuk Mande Rubiah Subdistrict in Padang City has promising natural tourism potential, yet youth involvement in its development remains limited. This study aims to examine the socialization of the role of Karang Taruna (youth organization) in supporting tourism development in the area. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through field observation and interviews with local youths involved in Karang Taruna. The results indicate that Karang Taruna contributes to managing ticketing, maintaining the cleanliness of the site, and initiating promotional efforts through social media. However, the lack of training and supporting facilities poses significant challenges to fully realizing this potential. The socialization efforts focused on strengthening youth capacity, increasing awareness of tourism promotion, and providing a sample digital product in the form of a promotional video. These findings imply that, with the right approach, Karang Taruna can serve as a driving force in building a sustainable tourism ecosystem rooted in local community participation.   Keywords: , ,

Madura, an island in East Java, is known for its rich cultural heritage. Despite this, prevailing stereotypes in society often emphasize negative aspects of Madurese culture, which can obscure its valuable and positive traditions. One such cultural gem is Daul music—a vibrant and rhythmic musical expression that deserves greater public appreciation. This study explores the design and development of a digital comic titled “The Sparkle of Madura’s Daul”, which aims to introduce Daul music to a younger audience, particularly teenagers aged 18–22, through the Webtoon platform. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, the research gathered data through observation, questionnaires, and interviews to inform the design process. The comic is created not only as an engaging entertainment medium but also as a tool for cultural education and preservation. By integrating narrative and visual storytelling, the comic presents Daul music in a compelling and accessible format, positioning it as a cultural asset comparable to the well-known Karapan Sapi. The final product is intended to reshape perceptions of Madurese identity, promote cultural pride, and encourage the appreciation of traditional music among youth. This initiative highlights the potential of digital media to bridge generational and cultural gaps while revitalizing local heritage through creative means.

Suboptimal waste management in Kalijoso Village, Secang District, Magelang Regency, is a critical issue that impacts environmental sustainability and public health. The inefficiency of conventional waste disposal methods has led to increased waste accumulation, soil and water pollution, and the spread of diseases, which has significant consequences for local communities. To address these challenges, the local government and community organizations have embraced the principles of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through a transformation of traditional waste disposal sites (TPS) into 3R TPS. The new approach focuses on sustainable waste management practices that reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. One of the key strategies implemented is educational outreach to raise awareness about the importance of waste segregation and recycling. Additionally, training programs have been conducted to teach the community how to process organic waste, particularly through the cultivation of maggots using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. This method not only helps reduce the volume of organic waste but also provides a practical solution for transforming waste into valuable resources. The maggots cultivated during the demonstration are used as animal feed, which creates a sustainable circular economy within the community. Furthermore, composting organic waste results in high-quality compost that supports local agricultural activities. This has added economic value by reducing the need for chemical fertilizers, while simultaneously improving soil health. The role of the Salakan Hamlet Youth Organization has been instrumental in this initiative. They have successfully managed a waste bank, providing an organized and systematic approach to waste collection and recycling. This initiative has fostered a sense of community responsibility and has not only improved waste management practices but also contributed to the overall economic development of the village.

The drama Ayahku Pulang is able to describe Indonesian families during the colonial era. This story is very stressful between family members. One of the people who experiences the most spiritual turmoil is Gunarto, a young man who is now an adult. Adolescence is a crucial developmental phase often marked by a lack of responsibility, which can lead to negative behaviors such as juvenile delinquency and promiscuity. Therefore, developing a responsible character in adolescents is essential to guide them toward positive behavior. One effective approach is through life skills education implemented in the local village (gampong) environment. This community service initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility in adolescents by involving them in the planting and maintenance of family medicinal plants (TOGA). Through this activity, adolescents are expected to develop care, discipline, and responsibility, which are reflected in their commitment to nurturing the plants. The activity was implemented in Gampong Cot Alue, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar, and carried out over two days, from February 14 to 15, 2025. The method used in the planning and execution of the TOGA planting involved five stages: (1) creating an activity plan, (2) preparing tools and materials, (3) preparing the planting area, (4) plant nurseries, and (5) creating plant identification markers. These stages were designed to introduce a structured approach to life skills and community engagement. The outcomes of the program demonstrated an increase in adolescents' awareness and understanding of the importance of TOGA. Additionally, there was a noticeable improvement in their sense of responsibility and participation in daily activities beyond school. The broader community, particularly the youth, gained valuable knowledge about the benefits of TOGA for disease prevention, treatment, and health maintenance, contributing to a healthier and more proactive lifestyle within the village environment.

"Isi Piringku" is a dietary guideline developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia as part of a balanced nutrition campaign. Understanding this concept is particularly important for elementary school-aged children, as this is a critical period for physical growth, mental development, and the formation of healthy lifestyle habits. A balanced nutritional intake plays a vital role in improving learning concentration, supporting physical activity, and preventing various diseases caused by nutritional deficiencies or excesses. However, the dietary behavior of elementary school students remains far from balanced nutrition principles, with an average achievement of only 53.9%. Based on this condition, this Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to improve the knowledge, skills, and behavior of Youth Red Cross (PMR) members at SDN Krapyak in consuming food according to balanced nutrition guidelines using the “Isi Piringku” media. The activities carried out included obtaining permission, conducting socialization, training on the use of the “Isi Piringku” media, and providing ongoing mentoring. Through this program, it was expected that PMR members could become change agents and role models for their peers in implementing healthy and balanced eating habits. The results of the activity showed that the mentoring was successfully conducted. There was a significant improvement in the knowledge and skills of PMR members, as reflected in the increase in the average score from 70.8 to 90.97 after the intervention. This indicates that the approach using the "Isi Piringku" media is effective in promoting balanced nutritional behavior among elementary school children.

This study investigates the impact of toxic parenting on the mental health of late adolescents in Benda Baru, South Tangerang. The background of this research is rooted in the increasing number of adolescent mental health issues linked to unhealthy parenting practices, including excessive control, verbal abuse, physical violence, criticism, and neglect. The study aims to analyze the underlying causes of toxic parenting from the perspectives of adolescents, parents, and other family members, as well as to identify its psychological, social, and behavioral consequences. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving late adolescents aged 18–22, their parents, siblings, and key community informants. The findings indicate that toxic parenting often originates from intergenerational trauma, unresolved stress, and socio-cultural pressures, leading parents to adopt coercive and destructive parenting strategies. These practices contribute to significant mental health problems among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficulties in social adaptation, and tendencies toward self-harm. The study underscores the importance of preventive efforts through parenting education, psychosocial support at the community level, and the development of youth-friendly mental health services. The implications suggest that multi-sector collaboration involving families, schools, community leaders, and local government is essential to create a supportive environment that can break the cycle of toxic parenting and promote adolescent well-being.
