This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT) as an Islamic microfinance institution in eliminating loan shark practices in communities, particularly in Java and Sumatra. Loan shark practices persist due to the ease and speed of loan disbursement, despite the high interest rates that entrap small communities in difficult-to-escape debt cycles. BMT offers a fair and interest-free Islamic financing solution based on profit-sharing principles and a more inclusive approach. This study discusses BMT’s financing strategies, such as lenient requirements, fast processing, and financial education programs designed to compete with loan sharks. The main findings indicate that BMT plays a significant role in providing fairer financing access to small communities and helping reduce their dependence on loan sharks. However, this study also reveals several challenges BMT faces, such as limited capital, strict regulations, and low financial literacy among the public. These challenges hinder BMT's ability to effectively compete with loan sharks in terms of speed and accessibility. The results of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening BMT’s capital, developing human resources, and innovating Islamic financing products so that BMT can play a more prominent role in eradicating loan shark practices in the community. With the right strategy and support from various stakeholders, BMT has great potential to continue growing as a more equitable and empowering financing solution.

In light of the increasing degree of competition in the international business environment resulting from the technological changes that have occurred recently, which has made companies rely on elements through which they can increase the companies’ capabilities to compete and achieve what they aim for, and for this reason the human element (human capital) was the factor. It is decisive in increasing productivity and companies’ abilities to compete in light of the changing and evolving business environment, as the research showed that there is a major role for human capital in increasing the financial performance of the research sample (Al-Janoob Islamic Bank) and achieving high profit levels as a result of that company’s acquisition of competent and skilled human capital. The research compared two different periods in terms of the company’s management at the levels of executive management and the board of directors, and after the bank applied governance and separated ownership of the institution from management, and competent banking and professional cadres took over the management of that company, which was characterized by efficiency and effectiveness, as the research showed the existence of a close and strong relationship between human capital. Efficiency and financial performance represented by the profitability index, where the level of profits achieved before the change of management was low, while it took an upward trend gradually after the change of management and the application of governance. This confirms the relationship between two variables in achieving what the institution aims to achieve in its current and future strategies.

The banking industry has a very important role in a country's economy. One of the things related to the banking sector is operational activities towards the environment. The increasing environmental damage that occurs is a form of human indiscipline in managing natural resources. Therefore, efforts that banks can make to implement environmentally friendly practices in their operational activities are green banking by considering the 5P aspects, namely People, Planet, Partnership, Peace and Prosperity. Even though banks do not contribute directly to environmental pollution, sectors that carry out business activities cannot possibly operate if they do not have capital to finance their operations and one of the financial institutions that provides capital in the form of financing is banks. So, indirectly banks play an important role in environmental sustainability. This research aims to investigate the impact of green banking on financial inclusion and the growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia. The data analysis method employed is the Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) method. The research approach is associative/quantitative, utilizing secondary data obtained and processed from annual reports and sustainability reports available on the official websites of the respective companies. Additionally, references from scientific journals and previous studies on selected Islamic banks are used. The sample includes PT. Bank Central Asia Sharia Tbk, PT. Bank KB Bukopin Syariah Tbk, PT. Investment is an essential instrument for capitalist countries to boost the national economy and create job opportunities for the community. Investment in Indonesia began with Foreign Investment Law No. 56 of 1964, which was later updated with Foreign Investment Law No. 25 of 2007 in line with the times. To increase investor interest in entering Indonesia, the government enacted Job Creation Law No. 11 of 2020, which was further updated through the Job Creation Law up to 2023. Due to the complexity and increasing number of investors facing obstacles such as land acquisition and regional policies, a Presidential Regulation on National Strategic Projects (PSN) was issued. The government's hopes and expectations for smooth investor operations do not always align with implementation. Specifically, PSNs often result in agrarian conflicts for local residents whose land is taken over for PSN purposes. In the context of investment in Batam, particularly the Rempang Eco-City Development Plan in the Rempang-Galang area, clashes occurred and drew national attention and concern from various experts when land measurements began by PT MEG, escorted by the Joint Team comprising police, TNI, and the Ditpam Batam Management Agency (BP Batam). They have not reached an agreement but are already being pushed for swift execution. The obstacles to investment in the PSN Rempang Eco-City include conflicts arising from legal uncertainties over land ownership since the administrative change from Bintan Selatan District to Batam City, becoming Galang District since 1980. Represented by their legal counsel LBH GP Asnhor, they demand legal certainty over their ancestral land to be issued certificates, enabling fair and humane compensation. This demand has been submitted to President Joko Widodo regarding the request for land legality for the villages on Rempang Island, Galang Island, and New Galang Island on behalf of the chairman of the Local Indigenous People's Relatives (KERAMAT) Gerisman Ahmad. Due to these obstacles and conflicts, the central government, through President Joko Widodo, issued Presidential Regulation No. 78 of 2023 on Handling Social Community Impacts in the Context of Land Provision for National Development. However, as of July 2024, there has not been a comprehensive agreement between the community, the Batam City government, and the head of BP Batam. The government is taking a softer approach by personally approaching residents to relocate to Tanjung Banon, where four model houses have been provided as promised incentives for those willing to move.

The development of Jayapura City as the capital of Papua Province has grown into a region very rapidly from being a modern city. The classification of areas in Jayapura City is included in the heterogeneous area group where the types of population come from various tribes and regions that live in Jayapura City. The city of Jayapura has land and sea areas with different areas, and has residential characteristics as a traditional village. The settlements of Kampung Enggros and Kampung Tobati are located around the coast of Yotefa Bay, including in the South Jayapura District and Abepura District of Jayapura Municipality, where the community builds their settlements above sea water. One thing that residents will face is the relationship between humans and the places where they live, which cannot be separated from nature. The research methods used to achieve the objectives of this research are comparative analysis and qualitative methods. The comparative analysis method displays settlement patterns with comparisons between 2019-2023 in the form of images.  Qualitative descriptive analysis method by presenting actual settlement development problems in the field in the form of pictures. The research results show that there are 3 factors for settlement development in Enggros and Tobati Villages, namely, Community, Protection and Network. Society is changing from traditional to modern, for example traditional houses become modern houses that keep up with the times. The network turns into a spatial structure in a pattern that is influenced by the economic aspects of indigenous communities. The main thing is natural factors because in the general view of indigenous Papuans, what is meant by their home is the natural surroundings where they can live.

Green energies are more adapted to the environment, and their production and production are less polluted. Moreover, since there is no end to this energy category, green energies are taking on an ever-increasing share of the world's energy supply system, even in countries with fossil fuels. The current study aims to examine the factors affecting green energy consumption in Group 7 countries using a table-based data approach (Panel data quantile regression) from 1996-2022. The study examined how financial impacts such as the Good Governance Index (GGI), Human Capital (MYS), Trade Openness (TO), Income (GDP), Inflation (INFL) and Non-Financial Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) are affected. Thus, assuming the stability of other factors, by an increase of one unit in GGI, MYS, TO, GDP, INFL, and GFCF, green energy consumption (GEC) increases between 0.24 and 0.59%, 2.46 to 7.12%, 0.98 to 1.53%, 0.73 to 1.03%, 0.42 to 0.62% and 1.07 to 1.73%. Given the positive and meaningful impact of the Good Governance Index and Human Capital on green energy consumption, it is proposed to double attention to the quality of laws and regulations, the rule of law, and the design and enforcement of laws in protecting the environment and developing more clean energies. The results can be an outstanding lesson for creating and developing countries.
