Divorce is the legal and religious termination of a husband-wife relationship. This severance of the relationship can have psychological consequences, making children more susceptible to depression. These psychological impacts include deep sadness, resulting in depression, feelings of loss, shame, anger, disappointment, denial, self-acceptance, and feelings of blame toward the parents. These psychological impacts are naturally the result of the support, emotional support, and presence of the parents before, during, and after the divorce. This study employed a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, conducted through semi-structured interviews. The aim is to raise awareness among readers that divorce not only impacts the husband and wife but also the psychological impact on children, which is often considered unimportant. However, the mental health of children after divorce is a crucial issue that requires attention. This is where the role of parents is crucial in shaping their character and psychological development. This study concludes that children who are victims of divorce tend to seek out activities outside the home, as the integrity of their home is no longer there. Children experience sadness and loss most acutely. Furthermore, children are more wary of future relationships due to a loss of trust in the meaning of romantic relationships. Low self-acceptance also makes it difficult for children to control their emotions.

Premarital sexual behavior in adolescents is a public health issue influenced by various individual, social, and environmental factors. Changes in social norms, technological advancements, and limited reproductive health knowledge make adolescents a group vulnerable to risky sexual behavior. This study aims to examine the factors influencing premarital sexual behavior among adolescents based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) approach. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), review national and international scientific articles published between 2013 and 2025. Data sources were abtained from Google Scholar and ScienceDirect, with inclusion criteria including articles in Indonesia and English, open access, full text, and relevant to HBM components. The study result indicate that factors such as perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and the quality of information play an important role in shaping adolescent sexual behavior. Low knowledge and limited perception oh the negative impacts of premarital sex increase the risk of engaging in risky sexual behavior. In addition, health promotion interventions based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) have been proven effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, and preventive behaviors regarding premarital sex among adolescents. Therefore, the HBM approach is recommended as a basis for developing comprehensive and sustainable adolescent reproductive health education and promotion programs.

Adolescent mental health is an essential component of optimal growth and development, yet it often receives less attention compared to academic achievement. Adolescents are in a vulnerable developmental stage characterized by emotional changes, social pressure, and environmental demands, which increase the risk of mental health problems. This activity aimed to improve knowledge and promote positive attitudes among junior high school students regarding adolescent mental health, including its definition, signs and symptoms, risk factors, and prevention strategies. The method used was a health education intervention employing a pre-test and post-test design. The activity was conducted at Al Amanah Junior High School, South Tangerang City, involving 25 students. The evaluation instrument consisted of a 10-item multiple-choice questionnaire with a maximum score of 100. The results showed that the average pre-test score was 98.40%, while the post-test score increased to 99.60%, indicating a 1.20% improvement. Although the increase was relatively small due to the high baseline knowledge (ceiling effect), the findings demonstrate that the educational intervention effectively reinforced students’ understanding of adolescent mental health. In addition, interactive discussions during the session contributed to increased awareness and reduced stigma related to mental health issues. This mental health education program has the potential to support early prevention efforts and foster a more supportive school environment for adolescents’ psychological well-being.

Sleep is a fundamental biological need for adolescents and plays a crucial role in supporting cognitive function, emotional regulation, and overall mental health. Despite its importance, sleep quality among adolescents has increasingly declined due to the interaction of individual characteristics, social environments, and daily sleep behaviors. This article aims to analyze the factors influencing adolescent sleep quality using the Social Cognitive Theory framework through a literature review of national and international journals published between 2021 and 2025. The findings show that adolescent sleep quality is shaped by personal factors, including attitudes toward sleep, self-efficacy, and psychological conditions. Environmental factors, such as parental support, peer influence, and academic demands, also significantly affect sleep patterns. In addition, behavioral factors, particularly sleep hygiene practices, play a key role in determining sleep quality. Consistently, unhealthy sleep behaviors are associated with poor sleep quality. Therefore, comprehensive interventions are needed, involving the improvement of sleep habits, strengthening adolescents’ self-regulation abilities, and enhancing family and school support to promote better sleep quality.

Concurrent stunting and overweight/obesity (CSO) in adolescents represents a complex form of the double burden of malnutrition, characterized by linear growth faltering coexisting with excess body fat. This condition poses significant metabolic, cognitive, and reproductive risks that may affect long-term health and productivity. This review employs a narrative literature approach by synthesizing evidence from PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and national journal portals. Included literature comprises studies assessing stunting, overweight/obesity, metabolic risk, cognitive function, and reproductive health among adolescents. Indonesian evidence (Harits et al., 2024) indicates that obese adolescents with a history of stunting exhibit a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome (18.75%), greater abdominal adiposity, and elevated systolic blood pressure compared to non-stunted obese peers. Biologically, stunting impairs neurocognitive development and reduces muscle mass, while obesity promotes metabolic inflammation; the coexistence of these factors may reduce physical fitness, learning capacity, and overall productivity. CSO also affects reproductive health, including increased risks of ovulatory dysfunction, delayed sexual maturation, and intergenerational nutritional disadvantages. Although linear growth recovery is limited due to epiphyseal closure, functional recovery through improved diet quality and physical activity remains possible. In conclusion, adolescents with CSO experience greater metabolic, cognitive, and reproductive vulnerabilities than those affected by stunting or obesity alone. Interventions emphasizing metabolic function, diet quality, physical fitness, and reproductive health preparation are essential to prevent long-term consequences and break the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition. Further national research is required to map the prevalence and implications of CSO comprehensively.

This study aims to identify factors associated with fast food consumption behavior among adolescents based on the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) through a literature review. A descriptive literature review was conducted using nine peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025, retrieved from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The findings indicate that adolescent fast food consumption behavior is influenced by two main components of SCT, namely personal factors and environmental factors. Personal factors were predominantly examined through the knowledge variable, which showed inconsistent associations with fast food consumption, while other personal variables, although mostly related, lacked consistent empirical support across studies. In contrast, environmental factors demonstrated more consistent associations, particularly peer influence, mass media exposure, parental influence, and pocket money, which were repeatedly identified as significant determinants of fast food consumption among adolescents. In conclusion, adolescent fast food consumption behavior is more strongly influenced by environmental factors than by personal factors, highlighting the importance of multi-level interventions that address social and environmental contexts in shaping healthy eating behaviors among adolescents.

Premarital sex is sexual intercourse outside of legal or religious marriage. This behavior can cause various problems such as sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and encourage early marriage. Analyzing the determinants of adolescent premarital sex based on the Health Belief Model. Using a literature review approach, this study analyzes several academic references such as journals, books, encyclopedias, and others that discuss the topic of premarital sex among adolescents based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) Theory. This study uses seven journals, with sources from the last six years. The study began in October-November 2025. Based on the analysis, there is a relationship between perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, perceived self-efficacy, cues to action, and premarital sex behavior among adolescents. The conclusion shows that in all seven studies, the main components of HBM are significantly related to this behavior. For adolescents, it is recommended to better understand premarital sex behavior by seeking appropriate information and selecting positive friends and social environments so as not to be influenced by negative things or the urge to engage in premarital sex behavior.

This study aims to describe the forms of emotional trauma experienced by adolescent victims of verbal violence in Tuntungan Village 1. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method on three adolescents who were purposively selected based on their experiences of verbal violence in their family environment. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the psychological condition of the research subjects. The obtained data were then analyzed descriptively qualitatively through the processes of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that verbal violence has a significant impact on the emotional health of adolescents, including decreased learning motivation, the emergence of withdrawal behavior from social environments, and the loss of a sense of security and comfort within the family. In addition, harsh, demeaning, and repetitive family communication patterns form a negative self-concept in adolescents, which has the potential to affect personality development and social relationships in the future. The findings of this study emphasize the important role of families, schools, and communities in creating a supportive environment, as well as the need for preventive efforts and psychosocial interventions to prevent and address emotional trauma in adolescents on an ongoing basis.
