Iced tea is a popular beverage due to its accessibility and affordability. However, poor hygiene and sanitation practices can lead to contamination by pathogenic microorganisms such as Escherichia coli, which can potentially cause foodborne diseases. Sanitation practices, including cleanliness of vendors, equipment, and processing facilities, play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of beverages consumed by the public. The research method used was a quantitative study with an observational analytical design using a cross-sectional approach. Total sampling was used, with 21 iced tea vendors as the sample. The independent variable in this study was sanitation hygiene, while the dependent variable was Escherichia coli bacterial contamination in iced tea. The results of the study conducted on 21 respondents showed that iced tea drink sellers with qualified sanitation hygiene practices with a total of 10 respondents, 8 samples of iced tea drinks were negative for Escherichia Coli and 2 samples of iced tea drinks were positive for Escherichia Coli. While iced tea drink sellers who did not meet the requirements for sanitation hygiene practices were 11 respondents, with 11 samples of iced tea drinks positive for Escherichia Coli bacteria. After being analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 24 Application, a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) was obtained, so H1 was accepted, it was concluded that there was a relationship between sanitation hygiene and Escherichia Coli bacterial contamination of iced tea drinks. Based on the description above it can be concluded that the low sanitation hygiene practices carried out by iced tea drink sellers can increase the risk of Escherichia Coli bacteria contamination in drinks and will affect the quality and safety of drinks that will be consumed by the public.

Strengthening the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is a strategic effort to enhance business competitiveness and sustainability, particularly within the Pamulang MSME Friends (SUP) community. This community service activity aims to improve MSMEs’ financial management capabilities and increase production efficiency through the development of a joint production house. The main challenges faced by partners include limited financial literacy, the absence of systematic financial transaction records, and inadequate production facilities. The implementation of the program was carried out through training activities, mentoring in the use of the APIK financial recording application, and facilitation in designing a collaborative production house model. The results indicate an improvement in MSMEs’ understanding of financial management, including the ability to record transactions systematically, separate business and personal finances, and calculate production costs more accurately. Furthermore, the establishment of a joint production house contributes to greater cost efficiency, increased production capacity, improved product quality, and stronger collaboration among MSME actors. Therefore, this activity contributes to creating a more structured, efficient, and sustainable MSME ecosystem that supports long-term business development.

Micro and small businesses such as grocery kiosks face various operational risks that can threaten business sustainability; however, most business owners have not yet implemented systematic risk management practices. This study aims to analyze the risk management process at Kios Pelita Harapan, a small business established in September 2023 in Maumere, using a qualitative approach through direct interviews with the business owner. The findings reveal that the risk management process at this kiosk encompasses four stages: risk identification, risk analysis and assessment, risk evaluation and prioritization, and implementation and monitoring. The primary risks identified include stockouts of fast-moving goods, product damage due to short expiry periods, fire hazards, power outages, and theft. The owner addresses these risks through daily stock checking, inventory recording, monitoring customer purchasing patterns, and coordinating with suppliers during emergencies. The application of a simple yet structured risk management approach has been proven effective in stabilizing revenue and maintaining customer trust. This study provides practical implications for kiosk business owners in implementing effective risk management despite limited resources.

Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) is a financial institution that operates according to sharia principles, focusing on providing financial services to the community, especially micro and medium-sized businesses. The main problem in this thesis is that out of  a total of 1.200 mcro-enterprneurs, only 485 have received financing from BPRS Taeh Baruah. This is because they do not yet have a business licence, so mcro-enterpreneurs prefer to borrow from non-formal financing institutions such as the PNM Mekaar program or farmer groups. This study aims to analyze the role of Bank Perekonomian Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) Taeh Baruah in micro-enterprise development. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are through interviews and literature studies. Informants in this study consisted of 11 BPRS financing staff and 49 micro-enterprise customers at BPRS Taeh Baruah. The research results show that BPRS Taeh Baruah plays a significant role in supporting the development of micro-enterprises through sharia-based financing, particularly by using the murabahah contract, which is the most widely used by customers. Furthermore, BPRS Taeh Baruah also plays a role in increasing sharia financial inclusion by providing savings and financing services, conducting regular literacy and education related to sharia finance, and implementing flexible service strategies such as savings and financing pickup services, the use of mobile banking service. The Taeh Baruah BPRS also play a role in improving community welfare through financing programs provided to micro-enterpreneurs for working capital, enabling their business to grow. The additional capital provided by the BPRS ensures the availability of materials and eqipment for their businesses, thus contibuting to economic stability.

This study aims to analyze the differences in emotional intelligence and students' understanding of Cost Accounting courses viewed from a gender perspective. The complexity of Cost Accounting material requires not only cognitive abilities but also emotional stability in problem-solving. The research method used is quantitative comparative with a sample of International Business Management (IBM) students at Bali State Polytechnic. Data were collected through emotional intelligence questionnaires and material understanding tests, which were then processed using t-test analysis via Microsoft Excel. The results showed that [there is/there is no] significant difference between male and female students in understanding Cost Accounting. Furthermore, it was found that emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in helping students manage pressure when preparing cost reports. The implication of this research is the need for adaptive teaching approaches for IBM lecturers to balance technical competence and psychological aspects regardless of gender differences. Furthermore, these results are also expected to be the basis for developing more effective and inclusive learning methods in higher education environments.

Nitrogen is an essential element for soybean growth, particularly in the formation of vegetative organs and seed protein. The nitrogen requirement of soybean plants varies according to their growth stages. This study aimed to quantify nitrogen levels in soil and plant tissues of Anjasmoro soybean variety over a 13-week cultivation period. Observations were conducted weekly by collecting soil and plant samples from three randomly selected polybags. Nitrogen analysis was performed using a colorimetric Kjeldahl method. The results showed that nitrogen supply was obtained not only from soil media and fertilizers, but also from biological nitrogen fixation facilitated by symbiotic microbes forming root nodules as well as non-symbiotic soil microbes. The lowest total soil nitrogen content was recorded at 0 weeks after planting (WAP) at 0.20%, while the highest was observed at 7 WAP at 0.82%. The lowest total nitrogen content in plant tissue occurred at 8 WAP at 1.80%, whereas the highest was recorded at 4 WAP at 8.07%. Soybean plants experienced etiolation due to suboptimal light intensity, resulting in a vegetative phase that was prolonged by two weeks. Nitrogen uptake during this extended vegetative period reached 4.6%. The average total nitrogen absorbed by the plants during cultivation was 2.881 g per plant, while total nitrogen accumulation in the system increased by 26.285 g per plant.

This research aims to design and develop a simple Dino-themed game based on a microcontroller, with the display using an I2C LCD. The game is inspired by the offline Dino game on Google Chrome, adapted to run on an Arduino Uno microcontroller. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), consisting of stages such as needs analysis, system design, simulation using Wokwi, hardware assembly, programming, and testing. The system uses push buttons as input and a 16x2 I2C LCD as the output display. The testing results show that the system can respond quickly to user input and display character movement and score updates dynamically on the LCD screen. Although the graphical capability of the LCD is limited, the game runs well and successfully demonstrates the basic concepts of microcontroller programming as well as interactive input-output processing. Further development is recommended to enhance the graphical interface and add features such as sound effects and progressive difficulty levels.

Financial literacy is an essential aspect in supporting community financial management, particularly in rural and indigenous communities such as Kanekes Village (Baduy). Although the community has begun to access financial services and digital technology, their ability to manage finances remains limited. Therefore, this community service activity aims to identify the level of financial literacy and to encourage public awareness of better financial management. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and field observations. The results show that the community, especially in Baduy Luar, has utilized social media such as TikTok Live and Instagram for product marketing and has adopted digital payment systems such as QRIS through Bank BRI, although cash transactions still dominate. The main sources of income come from micro-enterprises based on local potential, including handicrafts, traditional clothing, accessories, and food products. However, the community generally lacks financial recording practices and structured financial planning, causing income to be directly spent on daily needs. The activity also indicates the emergence of initial awareness regarding financial management and highlights the role of youth as local leaders in adopting digital technology. Therefore, strengthening financial literacy is crucial to improving financial behavior and supporting sustainable economic transformation within the community.

Low financial literacy and managerial capability remain common issues faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the culinary sector, which consequently affects financial efficiency and business sustainability. Many business owners still maintain simple and unstructured financial records and often mix personal and business finances, leading to difficulties in determining profit and making appropriate business decisions. This community service activity aims to improve financial efficiency through operational management assistance for the MSME Warung Pecel Bu Nor located in Gading Fajar, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involves business owners in every stage of the activity, including problem identification, action planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, discussions, and joint reflection. The results indicate an improvement in the business owner’s understanding and skills in simple financial recording, separation of personal and business finances, and operational cost control. In addition, there is an improvement in the organization of business management and managerial awareness. This assistance contributes to increased financial efficiency, business stability, and the potential improvement of the economic welfare of business owners. Overall, this assistance has proven effective in supporting the sustainability of MSMEs; therefore, continuous assistance is needed so that business owners can consistently implement more professional business management practices.

Strawberries are horticultural commodities that are highly susceptible to postharvest deterioration due to their high respiration rate, microbial activity, and oxidative degradation, resulting in a relatively short shelf life. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of edible coatings in extending strawberry shelf life through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Literature was collected from several scientific databases using keywords related to edible coating, shelf life, and strawberry, covering publications from 2019–2026. From an initial 109 articles, a selection process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria resulted in 35 articles specifically discussing the application of edible coatings on strawberries. The synthesis results showed that all studies reported an extension of shelf life after edible coating application, although the effectiveness was influenced by the type of material, formulation, and storage conditions. Chitosan was the most widely used coating material due to its natural antimicrobial activity and excellent film-forming ability. The incorporation of bioactive compounds such as essential oils, plant extracts, and phenolic compounds was proven to enhance antifungal and antioxidant activities. In addition, nanotechnology-based systems demonstrated better preservation performance compared to conventional systems. However, methodological standardization and industrial-scale validation are still required to support commercial implementation.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies implemented by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly those engaged in the culinary sector, within the Pasar Raya MMTC (Medan Metropolitan Trade Center) area in facing digital era competition. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with MSME owners, observation of digital promotional activities (Social Media and Marketplaces), and content analysis. The results indicate that the most effective and commonly used digital strategies include: (1) Marketplace Optimization (focusing on discount and flash sale features), (2) Social Media Marketing Utilization (Instagram and TikTok for visual/video content), and (3) Collaboration with Local Micro-Influencers or food vloggers. The effectiveness of these strategies is measured by the increase in sales volume (an average of 20-30% after digital adoption) and improved brand visibility. The main obstacles encountered by MMTC MSMEs are the lack of consistency in content creation, limited funds for paid advertising, and insufficient understanding of digital data analytics. This study concludes that digital adaptation is essential, but it must be supported by improving digital literacy and providing targeted assistance focused on analyzing the return on investment (ROI) of digital marketing activities for sustainable growth.

Waste management remains a critical environmental issue due to the lack of public awareness in separating organic and inorganic waste, resulting in accumulation and environmental pollution This study aims to analyze and evaluate the development of automatic waste sorting systems based on proximity sensors with full-capacity notification using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach.. The proposed system utilizes a combination of sensors, including proximity sensors for material identification and ultrasonic sensors for detecting object presence and bin capacity, integrated with a microcontroller for real-time processing. Additionally, the system is equipped with IoT-based monitoring that allows users to receive notifications when the waste bin reaches its capacity. The research method involves system design, hardware and software integration, and functional testing to evaluate system performance. The results indicate that the system is capable of sorting waste automatically with a high level of accuracy and responsiveness, while also providing real-time monitoring to support waste management operations. The implementation of this system can reduce manual intervention, increase operational efficiency, and promote better waste segregation practices. Furthermore, this study highlights the potential of integrating smart technology into environmental management systems, contributing both theoretically and practically to the development of sustainable waste management solutions.

Limited competence among teachers in systematically managing scientific references remains one of the main challenges in producing high-quality scientific writing. This community service activity aims to enhance the competence of Biology MGMP teachers in Sidoarjo in reference management through a Smart Referencing approach using the Mendeley application as a Reference Management System. The methods employed include training sessions, hands-on practice, and mentoring in the use of Mendeley, covering installation, library management, and the automatic integration of citations and bibliographies into scientific documents. The evaluation of the activity was conducted through questionnaire distribution to measure participants’ improvement in understanding and skills. The analysis results indicate that several technical aspects, such as the use of the Mendeley plugin in Microsoft Word (score = 3.40) and the overall ease of use of the application (score = 3.00), fall into the high category on a maximum scale of 4. This suggests that although the application is perceived as useful, there is still a need for initial adaptation in its usage. Furthermore, the overall mean score of all questionnaire items is 3.74, with a satisfaction index of 93.5%, which falls into the very high category. These findings indicate that the Mendeley-based Smart Referencing training received very positive responses and was effective in improving participants’ understanding and skills in reference management for scientific writing.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (msmes) play an important role in supporting regional economic growth. However, business sustainability often faces various risks that may hinder the achievement of business objectives. This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk management at Valerie Bag's Boutique in Maumere, Sikka Regency. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Valerie Bag's Boutique faces four main categories of risk: supply risk, operational risk, market risk, and financial risk. Market risk and financial risk are the most dominant due to intense business competition, rapidly changing fashion trends, inventory accumulation, and delayed customer payments. Risk control strategies implemented by the boutique include enhancing digital marketing efforts, conducting regular inventory management, improving service quality, strengthening operational supervision, and maintaining better financial records. The study concludes that effective risk management implementation can contribute significantly to improving business sustainability and enhancing the competitiveness of msmes in the fashion sector

The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of Local Microorganisms (LOM) from stale rice and oil palm boiler ash impacts the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) and to determine the interaction between the two treatments. Shallots are a horticultural commodity with high economic value, so efforts are needed to increase production through the use of environmentally friendly organic materials. The study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was LOM from stale rice with four levels (0, 20, 40, and 60 ml/L water/plot) and the second factor was oil palm boiler ash with four levels (0, 500, 1000, and 1500 grams/plot), resulting in 16 treatment combinations and 48 experimental plots. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, fresh weight of bulbs, dry weight of bulbs, and bulb diameter. If there was a significant effect, the data were tested using analysis of variance (ANOVA). This research is expected to produce scientific data on the use of organic waste as an environmentally friendly fertilizer alternative.

This study is motivated by the significant role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the national economy, particularly in generating employment and supporting economic growth, while still facing challenges related to product quality and competitiveness. In this context, product curation emerges as a strategic mechanism to enhance quality standards and market readiness, making the role of curators increasingly important. This study aims to analyze the influence of curator competence, digital curation technology, work environment, work motivation, work targets, teamwork, and personality traits on job satisfaction and curator performance in MSMEs, as well as to examine the role of job satisfaction as a mediating variable and commitment as a moderating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 251 curators affiliated with the East Java Curation House. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, along with mediation and moderation testing. The findings indicate that curator competence, digital curation technology, work targets, teamwork, and job satisfaction have a significant effect on curator performance, while job satisfaction also mediates several relationships among variables. However, curator commitment does not act as a moderating variable. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening curator competence, enhancing the utilization of digital technology, and developing structured and collaborative work systems to improve curator performance and the sustainable competitiveness of MSMEs.

Hydrogen-based hybrid microgrid systems have emerged as a promising solution to enhance renewable energy integration and improve energy supply reliability. By combining renewable sources such as solar and wind with hydrogen production and storage technologies, these systems address the intermittency of renewable power while ensuring continuous energy availability. This study evaluates the techno-economic feasibility, environmental impact, and scalability of hydrogen-based hybrid microgrids, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and system performance under varying operating conditions. Simulation tools, including HOMER Pro and MATLAB Simulink, are used to model the system and conduct sensitivity analyses on hydrogen production costs and demand fluctuations. Key performance indicators such as Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), Net Present Value (NPV), and CO₂ emissions reduction are assessed. The results show that although the system requires a high initial investment, it becomes economically viable over time due to reduced operational costs and improved efficiency. Additionally, the system demonstrates significant environmental benefits, outperforming conventional fossil fuel-based systems in terms of emissions reduction. Sensitivity analysis further indicates that advancements in hydrogen production technologies could substantially enhance economic feasibility. Overall, hydrogen-based hybrid microgrids offer a reliable and low-carbon energy solution, supporting sustainable energy transitions and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

The development of digital technology has encouraged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the culinary sector, to adapt by utilizing online applications as a strategy to increase competitiveness. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and capabilities of business owners at Kedai Jajanan Zahira in Surabaya in utilizing online applications as a marketing and sales tool. The method used in this study is Participatory Action Research (PAR), an approach that actively involves business actors in every stage of the process. These stages include problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and direct observation to obtain a realistic picture of business conditions. The results of the activity showed an increase in business owners' understanding of the importance of digitalization, improved skills in using food delivery applications and social media, and increased market reach and interaction with consumers. In addition, the use of online applications also contributed to increased operational efficiency, such as more systematic order management and transaction recording. Overall, mentoring in the use of online applications has proven effective in increasing the competitiveness of culinary businesses. This activity has a positive impact not only on increasing sales, but also on business sustainability through increased digital literacy and the ability to adapt to technological developments. Therefore, ongoing mentoring is needed so that business actors can consistently optimize the use of digital technology in developing their businesses.

The development of digital technology has encouraged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to utilize social media as the main instrument in building brand awareness. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a field research type (field research). Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with six sources (owner, financial manager, social media team, admin, crew, and customers), and documentation of the content of the TikTok account @mtm43surabaya. The results of the study show that: (1) MTMSBY43 implements a digital branding strategy with three main components, namely brand positioning as a social-based one-stop solution, a brand identity that focuses on a human-centered service approach, and a brand personality that reflects the character of local youth who are solution-oriented and socially concerned; (2) MTMSBY43 TikTok content is classified into three pillars, namely humanistic and realistic content (daily vlogs & live documentation), educational and transparent content (service portfolio), and humorous content (entertainment & engagement content) that builds high organic appeal; (3) TikTok acts as a primary growth driver for MTMSBY43's brand awareness through three mechanisms: creating brand recognition through the FYP algorithm, which reaches new audiences; driving brand recall through consistent uploads and a distinctive communication style; and building customer trust and brand loyalty through responsive two-way interactions

This study aims to analyze innovative strategies that can be implemented by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java to improve competitiveness through digital marketing and e-commerce. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research method by reviewing various scientific literature, government reports, and previous studies related to MSME innovation and digital transformation. The results of the study indicate that digital marketing and e-commerce innovation can increase market reach, operational efficiency, product differentiation, and MSME sales. However, the implementation of innovation still faces several challenges such as low digital literacy, limited capital, limited technology, and lack of system integration. Therefore, innovative strategies are needed, including integrated digital marketing, marketplace optimization, social commerce, digital payment systems, logistics integration, digital branding strengthening, and digital literacy training. In addition, collaboration between MSMEs, government, universities, communities, and digital platforms is an important factor in accelerating MSME digital transformation. This study produces recommendations for an innovative strategy model based on digital marketing and e-commerce to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in East Java.
