The rapid development of information technology has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including the decision-making process that requires precision and objectivity. One of the problems often faced is product selection with various complex criteria, for example in selecting a quality drum. Drums as a percussion instrument have many variations in terms of sound quality, material, design, price, and durability, so a system is needed that can assist users in making a more rational choice. This study aims to develop a website-based Decision Support System (DSS) using the Weighted Product (WP) method to provide recommendations for drum selection. The WP method was chosen because it is able to perform calculations by considering the weight of each criterion so that the recommendation results are more objective. The system implementation is carried out through the design of a user-friendly web-based interface, making it easier for users to access, compare alternatives, and obtain recommendations without having to perform manual assessments that are time-consuming and potentially subjective. System testing was carried out by comparing the results of the system's recommendations with expert assessments, which obtained an accuracy level of 95%. These results indicate that the developed system has a high level of reliability and is suitable for use as an aid in decision-making in selecting quality drums. With this system, it is hoped that users, both beginners and professionals, will find it easier to choose drums that suit their needs and preferences.

Concrete roof tiles are an important material in building construction, particularly for roofing work, due to their advantages in terms of strength, durability, and material availability. This study aims to analyze two main physical characteristics of concrete roof tiles, namely bending load and water absorption, using a literature review approach from various previous studies. Bending load refers to the material's ability to withstand bending forces, while water absorption describes the material's capacity to absorb and store water through its pores. These two properties significantly influence the quality and durability of roof tiles in facing external environmental conditions, especially wet-dry cycles and mechanical loads. The results of the literature review indicate that the use of waste as an aggregate substitute in concrete mixes can significantly improve the performance of concrete roof tiles. For example, research using broken roof tiles and ceramic waste as aggregate substitutes successfully increased flexural strength to a range of 12.5–15.0 MPa. Meanwhile, variations in water absorption were recorded in the range of 4%–8%, depending on the material composition and production method. This proves that the use of recycled materials not only supports sustainability but also improves the mechanical and physical properties of concrete roof tiles. Overall, this study underscores the importance of material innovation in concrete roof tile production, particularly utilizing waste as an alternative aggregate. However, further research is needed to explore the best combination of materials and production techniques for producing high-quality, efficient, and environmentally friendly concrete roof tiles.

Extraction is a crucial process for obtaining active compounds from natural materials, such as medicinal plants, spices, and other biomass. The success of the extraction process is greatly influenced by the method used, as each method has its own mechanism, efficiency, and yield. This study compared seven commonly used extraction methods: maceration, percolation, infusion, soxhletation, reflux, Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction (UAE), and Microwave-Assisted Extraction (MAE). Based on data collected from various scientific journals, it was found that modern methods such as UAE and MAE are capable of producing higher yields than conventional methods. Furthermore, both methods are more efficient in terms of extraction time and solvent usage, making them more environmentally friendly and suitable for industrial-scale applications. However, conventional methods such as maceration and percolation still play an important role, especially in initial research or in laboratories with limited equipment. For example, maceration is easy to perform, does not require high energy, and is suitable for heat-sensitive materials. Other factors that influence extraction results include the type of solvent, temperature, time, and the characteristics of the natural material itself. Therefore, the choice of extraction method must be tailored to the research objectives, the type of compound to be extracted, and the availability of resources and equipment. Combining several methods can also be considered to improve the efficiency and quality of the extraction results. It should be emphasized that extraction yield is influenced not only by the method, but also by the type of material, solvent, temperature, time, and particle size. Therefore, the choice of extraction method must be tailored to the nature of the material, the type of target compound, as well as the objectives and availability of resources. In some cases, a combination of extraction methods can also be used to increase efficiency and obtain optimal results.

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has significant potential for the utilization of renewable energy, particularly wind energy in maritime areas with low wind speeds (3–6 m/s). This study aims to design and test a vertical Savonius wind turbine system equipped with a Perturb and Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm as a power source for shipboard water heating systems. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D), integrating several components such as a DC generator, full-wave bridge rectifier, INA219 current sensor, anemometer cup sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and a monitoring interface utilizing Google Spreadsheet and a 20x4 LCD. The system was tested under two operating conditions: without MPPT and with MPPT. The experimental results show that the application of the MPPT algorithm successfully increased power output by up to 272.64% while maintaining voltage stability despite varying wind speeds. Nevertheless, the average output power of 2.605 W remained insufficient to meet water heating requirements within a short time. For example, charging a 12V 50Ah battery would require approximately 9.6 consecutive days of operation, highlighting the system’s limitations in high-demand scenarios. Despite these constraints, the findings demonstrate that the vertical Savonius wind turbine integrated with MPPT has strong potential as a clean and environmentally friendly alternative energy solution for maritime applications, particularly for small-scale onboard electrical loads. This study contributes to renewable energy utilization in the shipping sector and provides a foundation for further technological development and optimization.

The proliferation of fake news across digital platforms has raised critical concerns about information reliability. A notable example is the viral rumour falsely claiming that the Nigerian Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had collapsed at an event and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital an entirely fabricated claim that caused public confusion. While both traditional machine learning and deep learning approaches have been explored for automated fake news detection, many existing models have been limited to topic-specific datasets and often suffer from overfitting, especially on smaller datasets like ISOT. This study addresses these challenges by proposing a standalone Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) model for fake news classification using the ISOT dataset. Unlike multi-modal frameworks such as the MM-FND model by state-of-the-art model, which achieved 96.3% accuracy, the proposed BiLSTM model achieved superior results with 98.98% accuracy, 98.22% precision, 99.65% recall, and a 98.93% F1-score. The model demonstrated balanced classification across both fake and real news and exhibited strong generalization capabilities. However, training and validation performance plots revealed signs of overfitting after epoch 2, suggesting the need for regularization in future work. This study contributes to the growing body of research on fake news detection by showcasing the efficacy of a focused, sequential deep learning model over more complex architectures, offering a practical, scalable, and robust solution to misinformation detection
