In Indonesia, restorative justice has begun to receive serious attention, as evidenced by the issuance of several regulations to support its implementation. One of these is the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law, which incorporates the spirit of restorative justice into efforts to resolve cases involving children through the Diversion mechanism. However, despite the existence of supporting regulations, the implementation of restorative justice in Indonesia still faces various challenges. The purpose of this article is to examine the effectiveness of fulfilling restorative justice in Indonesia. The research results indicate that there are still several shortcomings in the enforcement of restorative justice. Additionally, there is a need for an institution capable of overseeing the implementation of non-litigation processes. The Witness and Victim Protection Agency is considered to have a strong position to act as a supervisor for restorative justice due to its alignment with its duties and functions.

Nigeria's economy has been severely stagnant since the 1980s. Afrocentric literature charts the nation's history, whereas Eurocentric literature identifies the Nigerian civil war and the corrupt practices of its leaders as the primary cause economic hardships to her historical colonial dominance and economic exploitation activities. However, none of the aforementioned reasons provide stronger support for being the cause of the nation's economic dysfunction, particularly when contrasted with IMF measures implemented there. The IMF's policies on Nigeria's Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) and its Loan Conditionality are partially shown in this article to be "the crux impediment facing the country." As a result, the paper makes the case that, among other mismanagement policies, General Ibrahim Babangida's acceptance of IMF loans contributed to the nation's economic problems and backwardness. Using primary and secondary sources, the study makes the argument that its riches would be restored by a more inclusive economic system free of the current extractive economic practices.

This qualitative study explores the role of pickleball in promoting healthy aging among elderly players in Indonesia. As the global elderly population continues to rise, the need for effective strategies to enhance physical, mental, and social well-being in older adults becomes more pressing. Pickleball, a low-impact sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has gained significant popularity worldwide due to its accessibility, moderate intensity, and low risk of injury. This study employed a phenomenological approach, conducting semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and focus group discussions with 19 elderly pickleball players aged 50 and above in Surabaya, Indonesia. The findings suggest that regular participation in pickleball leads to significant improvements in physical health, including enhanced strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. The sport also has positive effects on mental well-being, helping to reduce stress, improve cognitive function, and provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Socially, pickleball fosters community engagement, reduces feelings of isolation, and strengthens intergenerational relationships, allowing older adults to connect with younger generations. However, barriers such as physical limitations, limited access to facilities, and unfavorable weather conditions hinder consistent participation. In conclusion, pickleball is a valuable and effective activity for promoting healthy aging by providing a holistic approach to improving the quality of life in older adults. Policymakers, healthcare providers, and community leaders are encouraged to invest in pickleball infrastructure, promote awareness, and support active aging initiatives to further enhance the well-being of elderly populations. Stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term disability worldwide. Stroke survivors often experience severe disabilities, particularly in their ability to walk and perform daily physical activities independently. Many are unable to ambulate without assistance, even after reaching a certain level of independence. These persistent impairments contribute to a decreased quality of life and increase the risk of long-term complications. This study aims to determine the self-perceived difficulty in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) among ischemic stroke patients. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design and involved 25 ischemic stroke patients selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected at Banda General Hospital using the Barthel Index (BI) assessment tool to evaluate the patients' level of independence in carrying out daily activities, both before and after receiving physiotherapy. The results showed that, prior to physiotherapy, 10 respondents (40%) were in the category of severe dependency, requiring significant assistance to perform ADL. Following physiotherapy intervention, there was a decrease in the number of patients in the severe dependency category, indicating an improvement in functional independence. These findings suggest that physiotherapy plays an important role in supporting recovery and enhancing the ability of ischemic stroke patients to carry out daily activities. Patients’ self-perceived difficulties are also essential indicators in designing more personalized and effective rehabilitation programs.

The Indonesian National Army Law (UU TNI) is a legal product that regulates the role, function and authority of the TNI in the Indonesian constitutional system. In the context of this policy, the power apparatus plays a role in the formation, implementation and supervision of regulations governing the TNI. The power apparatus includes the executive, legislative, and actors who have an interest in the state's defense and security structure. In policy formation, political actors and government institutions play a dominant role in formulating regulations that balance civilian and military interests. The implementation of the TNI Law is also greatly influenced by how power is exercised, both in the defense bureaucratic aspect and in the relationship between the military and the civilian government. The tendency for politicization of military institutions can occur if there is excessive intervention from political power in determining strategic defense policies. Apart from that, the power dynamics in the TNI Law policy are also related to how control and supervision mechanisms are implemented. Security sector reform requires a balance between civilian supremacy and military professionalism to ensure that the regulations made do not conflict with democratic principles. Therefore, understanding the power apparatus in the TNI Law policy is important in examining the extent of the role and influence of political actors on the regulations governing military institutions in Indonesia.

This study explores the dynamics of interpersonal communication between mothers and their children in mitigating the effects of fatherlessness in Bahagia Subdistrict, Bekasi City, Indonesia. Fatherlessness—defined as the absence of a father figure in a child’s emotional and developmental life—has become an increasingly significant social phenomenon, with Indonesia ranking among the highest in the world for fatherless households. The study aims to understand how single mothers manage emotional communication and perform dual parental roles to sustain their children’s psychological well-being. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation involving three single mothers and four children living in Bahagia Subdistrict. The findings reveal that effective interpersonal communication—grounded in openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, and equality—strengthens emotional bonds, builds trust, and fosters resilience in children growing up without fathers. Moreover, such communication becomes a key coping mechanism that enables mothers to reduce the negative psychological and social consequences of fatherlessness, such as low self-esteem, social withdrawal, and academic decline. The study contributes to the field of family communication by illustrating the adaptive strategies of single mothers in Indonesia as they balance affection, discipline, and economic responsibilities. The results highlight how communication can function not only as an emotional bridge but also as a practical tool for building stability and maintaining harmony in single-parent households.

Ergonomics is a final result that ergonomics itself wants to achieve. Ergonomics is defined as an effort in the form of science, technology, and art to harmonize equipment, machines, work, systems, organizations and the environment with human abilities, expertise, and limitations so that a healthy, safe, comfortable, efficient and productive condition and environment is achieved, through optimal and maximum functional utilization of the human body (Manuaba, 2000). Home is a basic need for every human being, this is in accordance with the concept of basic human needs, namely clothing, food and shelter. Kitchens built in simple houses generally only meet the requirements for having a kitchen. Even the height of the kitchen work table and the height of the cupboard for equipment vary according to the taste of the carpenter or bricklayer. Thus, safe, comfortable, healthy and efficient working conditions can be achieved. In the case of incompatibility of work tools with body ergonomics, it can be overcome with appropriate technology. Most importantly, from the beginning of kitchen planning, ergonomics must be included so that the working environment and conditions can be made effective and efficient for its users.
