Prenatal exercise is a program designed specifically for pregnant women, featuring movements tailored to their condition, aimed at reducing discomforts during pregnancy and preparing them both physically and mentally for childbirth. The lack of awareness among pregnant women regarding prenatal exercise is likely a contributing factor to their limited participation. This study aims to explore the level of knowledge pregnant women have about prenatal exercise at Alisah Clinic, Medan, during the period of March to May 2025. The research employed primary data collection using a total sampling technique, with questionnaires as the instrument, involving 30 pregnant women as subjects. Data analysis was conducted using frequency distribution in percentages. The results showed that the majority of respondents with knowledge about prenatal exercise were aged 20–35 years, accounting for 19 individuals (63.4%), while the minority were aged over 35 years, totaling 3 individuals (10%). Based on education level, most respondents had completed high school (14 individuals or 46.6%), and the fewest had completed elementary school (3 individuals or 10%). Regarding occupation, the majority were housewives (17 individuals or 26.6%), and the minority were private employees (3 individuals or 3.3%). It is recommended that Alisah Clinic, Medan, use this scientific paper as a reference and input for midwifery practice, particularly in providing health education to pregnant women. Future researchers are advised to conduct broader studies with more comprehensive methods and variables to improve and refine this research.

Anxiety is an emotional state characterized by feelings of discomfort, such as restlessness, worry, or fear of events that have not yet occurred. This condition is often experienced by pregnant women who are about to undergo labor, especially if confronted with an emergency cesarean section (CS). High anxiety can negatively impact the mother's physical and psychological condition, as well as affect the labor process. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of warm water foot soak therapy as a form of non-pharmacological intervention in reducing anxiety levels in pregnant women who will undergo cesarean section. This study used a case study design with a residential care approach. The study subjects consisted of two patients in the Gladiol Ward of Dr. Tjitrowardojo Purworejo Regional Hospital who experienced damage problems in the form of anxiety. The intervention provided was warm water foot soak therapy twice daily for two consecutive days. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, physical examinations, medical record studies, and filling out the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) questionnaire. The results showed that this therapy was able to reduce anxiety levels in both patients. The first patient showed a decrease from moderate anxiety (score 16) to mild anxiety (score 12), while the second patient experienced a decrease from severe anxiety (score 21) to moderate anxiety (score 17). Thus, warm foot soak therapy has been shown to be effective in reducing pre-CES anxiety and can be considered a safe and simple treatment intervention.

Anxiety often arises during pregnancy due to both physical and psychological changes that can negatively impact the health of both the mother and the fetus. These changes may include hormonal fluctuations, fear of labor, and concerns about the baby’s wellbeing. In Indonesia, approximately 28.7% of 373,000 pregnant women in their third trimester experience anxiety as they approach labor. If left untreated, anxiety during pregnancy can lead to complications such as prolonged labor, low birth weight, and postpartum depression. Therefore, early and appropriate intervention is crucial. This study aims to describe the application of Islamic mindfulness meditation therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety in pregnant women at Puskesmas Purbaratu, Tasikmalaya. Anxiety is a condition in which an individual feels uneasy, worried, or uncomfortable. Islamic mindfulness meditation therapy is a relaxation technique that integrates spiritual practices with mental focus through meditation, allowing the soul and mind to be calm, centered, and connected with God. It includes dhikr (remembrance of Allah), controlled breathing, and contemplation of positive thoughts. The method used in this study is a case study involving two primigravida pregnant clients experiencing moderate anxiety. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and measurements using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results indicate that Islamic mindfulness meditation therapy significantly reduced anxiety levels from moderate to mild after five consecutive days of implementation. This was achieved through a combination of breathing exercises, spiritual reflection, and relaxation. This study concludes that Islamic mindfulness meditation can be an effective, affordable, and spiritually enriching alternative therapy to reduce anxiety in pregnant women, especially during the vulnerable third trimester. It is recommended that health workers consider incorporating this method into antenatal care programs.

Pregnant women's lack of understanding of the importance of antenatal care (ANC) can negatively impact fetal development. The use of ultrasound technology during ANC examinations can provide a more accurate picture of fetal condition. Ultrasound can determine whether the fetus' size is within normal limits, the number of fetuses, the volume of amniotic fluid, the position of the placenta, and whether the fetus' weight is appropriate, larger, or smaller than the gestational age. Objective: To increase pregnant women's knowledge of the importance of ANC examinations and to evaluate fetal condition by providing free ultrasound services. Methods: To conduct outreach activities, including free ultrasound examinations. This activity involved 22 pregnant women from the community surrounding the service location. Results: After the implementation, participants' knowledge test scores increased. The outreach program ran smoothly and participants were very enthusiastic, as evidenced by the many questions asked. All participants participated in the free ultrasound examinations, which showed healthy and normal fetal condition. Conclusion: This outreach program was effective in increasing pregnant women's understanding of the importance of ANC examinations, while the free ultrasound examinations helped confirm fetal health. All participants participated enthusiastically in the activity, and the benefits were felt by all parties involved..

Excessive consumption of salt and caffeine during pregnancy can lead to complications such as hypertension, preeclampsia, impaired fetal development, and miscarriage. However, awareness among pregnant women regarding these risks remains low, particularly in regions with limited health literacy such as Batubara Regency. This community service project aimed to enhance pregnant women's understanding of safe salt and caffeine intake through a community-based educational approach at Posyandu Tenggiri. The methods included interactive counseling, group discussions, and pre- and post-test evaluations. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, from a pre-test average score of 48.87 to 74.20 in the post-test. Additionally, the activity sparked the emergence of a local change agent and greater family involvement in dietary decisions during pregnancy. This program demonstrated that simple and participatory education can foster social transformation and healthier consumption behavior.

Iron-deficiency anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health concern in developing countries. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of iron and folic acid supplementation, known as iron tablets, in reducing the risk of anemia among pregnant women. A descriptive qualitative literature review method was employed by analyzing nine eligible studies published between 2013 and 2023. Articles were selected from databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect using specific keywords. The findings suggest that regular consumption of iron tablets, particularly starting in the second trimester and meeting the minimum recommended dose of 90 tablets, is effective in improving hemoglobin levels and lowering anemia prevalence. However, compliance remains a significant challenge, influenced by side effects, maternal knowledge, and social support. The review highlights the need for behavior-based interventions and family involvement to enhance adherence. The implication of this review supports the integration of targeted health education and follow-up strategies within antenatal care services to reduce anemia-related risks in pregnancy.

Preeclampsia is a condition of hypertension occurring after 20 weeks of gestation, accompanied by organ dysfunction and proteinuria. Preeclampsia is classified into Early Onset Preeclampsia (EOPE), which occurs before 34 weeks of gestation, and Late Onset Preeclampsia (LOPE), which occurs after 34 weeks of gestation. EOPE carries a higher risk of maternal and fetal complications compared to LOPE. This research aims to analyze the complications in mothers and fetuses with EOPE and LOPE that were terminated at RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi between 2020 and 2022. This descriptive research was conducted in the Medical Records Department of RSUD Raden Mattaher, Jambi, involving 82 patients who experienced both maternal and fetal complications with EOPE and LOPE that were terminated. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this research showed that the prevalence of EOPE was 69.5%, while LOPE accounted for 30.5%. Maternal complications were more commonly found in EOPE cases, including eclampsia (42.1%), HELLP syndrome (36%), premature rupture of membranes (14%), placental abruption (14%), and maternal mortality (5.3%). Fetal complications in EOPE included Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) (10.5%), prematurity (26.3%), low birth weight (29.8%), Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) (10.5%), and Intrauterine Fetal Death (IUFD) (1.8%). The perinatal mortality rate in EOPE was 7%, with asphyxia recorded in 12.3% of cases. EOPE is more frequently encountered than LOPE and is associated with more severe maternal and fetal complications. Early detection and management of EOPE are crucial to reducing complications and improving pregnancy outcomes.

Anemia is a common nutritional problem that occurs in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and teenage girls. One of its main causes is iron deficiency, which can be exacerbated by low vitamin C intake. Red guava (Psidium guajava L.) is a local fruit that is rich in vitamin C and has the potential to improve iron absorption, thus supporting an increase in hemoglobin levels. This study aims to review the effectiveness of red guava in increasing hemoglobin as an effort to prevent anemia. This study uses a literature review design on five experimental research articles published in the last 10 years. The study results show that the consumption of red guava, whether consumed alone or in combination, can significantly increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women and adolescent girls with anemia. The vitamin C content in red guava plays a role in enhancing the bioavailability of iron needed for hemoglobin formation. Thus, red guava has the potential to be used as part of a locally based food nutrition intervention that is effective, affordable, and applicable in the effort to prevent anemia.

Pregnancy is a physically and mentally challenging phase for a woman. Changes in hormones, physical condition, and demands from the social environment can cause stress and anxiety. The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of mindfulness techniques as a way to cope with stress for pregnant women. This study used a qualitative methodology with a case study approach, involving three participants from a pregnant women's class held at Padangsari Community Health Center. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and case study analysis, then the data were analyzed using thematic and narrative approaches. The findings of this study show that of the three participants, only one managed to apply mindfulness consistently, characterized by understanding and awareness of the changes she was experiencing, acceptance of the emotions that arose, and active engagement in the pregnancy experience. Meanwhile, the other two participants showed limitations in aspects of mindfulness, including self-observation, emotional disclosure, and social support, especially from their spouses. External factors such as the role of the husband as a support system and internal factors related to personality and daily routines influenced how effective the mindfulness application was. This study concludes that the application of mindfulness can help pregnant women manage stress and improve their emotional health, but also requires support from the environment and regular practice.
