This study aimed to determine the effect of psycho-education focusing on self-awareness on the social adaptability of 2024 Diploma III Nursing students. A quantitative quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was applied. The population consisted of 190 students, with 20 participants selected through purposive random sampling. The intervention involved eight 60-minute psycho-educational sessions designed to help students recognize, understand, and reflect on their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in social contexts. The program was conducted from March 28 to May 3, 2025. Social adaptation was measured using the SACQ questionnaire, which demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.877). Results from the paired t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and an average score increase of -12.050. These findings indicate that self-awareness interventions positively influence social adaptability, enabling first-year students to build relationships, adjust to new cultures, and face academic and social challenges more effectively. The study recommends implementing psycho-education programs as part of campus initiatives to strengthen social adaptation skills and provide preventive support for first-year students.

Teachers face complex emotional challenges in the workplace, particularly when dealing with the dynamic nature of Generation Z students. Without adequate emotional regulation skills, teachers are at risk of prolonged stress and burnout. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' emotional regulation skills through training based on Gross's (2003) theory, which includes techniques for recognizing, managing, and responding to emotions adaptively. The activity was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang and attended by 30 teachers. The training method included delivering material and practicing emotional regulation in six structured sessions. Results showed that participants were enthusiastic, actively engaged in the practice, and acknowledged their increased understanding and skills in managing negative emotions. Participant reflections indicated that the training helped maintain mental health and increased readiness to face work pressure. In addition, the sessions fostered a supportive environment where teachers could share their emotional experiences and develop mutual empathy. Feedback from participants emphasized the relevance of emotional regulation in daily teaching tasks, including classroom management, dealing with students’ behavior, and interacting with colleagues and parents. However, challenges remain in implementing emotional regulation due to minimal institutional support and limited follow-up programs. Therefore, it is important for this type of training to be integrated into teacher professional development programs and supported by school policies. This activity demonstrates that strengthening teachers' emotional aspects is a strategic step in improving the overall quality of education. Future efforts should involve collaboration with school leadership to institutionalize emotional support mechanisms and conduct longitudinal evaluations to measure sustained impact. Overall, the training offers a promising model for enhancing teacher well-being and professional resilience in demanding educational environments.

This study investigates psychological factors influencing decision-making in crisis management, a crucial area given the frequent observation of suboptimal decisions in real-life crises. We hypothesize that cognitive biases and negative emotions significantly impair decision quality. Using a structured online questionnaire, data were collected from 10 crisis management professionals. The findings, while exploratory due to the small sample size, indicate a negative trend: higher levels of cognitive biases and negative emotions tend to correlate with lower decision quality. Statistical significance could not be established. Despite these limitations, this study highlights the important role of psychological aspects in crisis decision-making, emphasizing the need for further research with larger samples to inform more effective crisis preparation.

Cultural diversity demands communication skills that extend beyond verbal communication and encompass an understanding of cross-cultural values, emotions, and identities. This article examines cultural communication in a pluralistic society through a psychological approach, focusing on perception, stereotypes, empathy, and cognitive openness. Cultural perception shapes how individuals interpret social reality, but often results in stereotypes that simplify the characteristics of a group, which can hinder healthy communication. On the other hand, empathy—both affective and cognitive—plays a crucial role in building emotional understanding and perspectives toward people from different cultural backgrounds. Cognitive openness strengthens the ability to accept differences, avoid quick judgments, and increase awareness of social complexity. This combination of empathy and openness is the primary foundation for building effective and inclusive intercultural communication competencies. This article emphasizes that these competencies can be developed through education, cross-cultural experiences, and psychosocial training. In the era of globalization and digitalization, cross-cultural understanding is crucial for creating a harmonious environment in educational settings, organizations, and communities. Therefore, building empathetic, open, and stereotype-free communication is key to successful interactions in a multicultural society.

Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human is one of the most devastating Japanese literature that portrays the inner turmoil of human beings in a very emotional way. The main character, Oba Yozo, is characterized by alienation, despair and identity crisis. This study is meant to identify the types of emotional expressions that appear in the original text and trace the translation techniques used in the two translated versions. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a comparative approach utilizing Molina & Albir’s translation technique theory and Nababan’s translation accuracy indicators. The analysis results show that Keene tends to use literal and amplification translation techniques to preserve the psychological depth of the characters, while Hanafi is more frequently employs modulation and reduction techniques with the aims of simplifying the language style. Some quotations also highlight differences in accuracy levels that impact the conveyance of emotions to readers. The conclusion of this study affirms that translation techniques not only influence sentence structure but also determine how readers interpret the internal conflicts of characters and the atmosphere of the story in the target text
