The construction of identity and social movements in the era of regional autonomy has a considerable influence on the regulations that exist in each region to administer their respective regions. Regional autonomy has brought several changes and progress to each region in improving prosperity. It is hoped that the implementation of autonomous regional government through direct regional head elections will provide opportunities for regions to channel their aspirations more freely. Regional Head Elections are suspected or assumed to be related to the rise of local culture or community in the form of identity politics. Identity politics is a tool of political struggle for an ethnic group to achieve certain goals. The phenomenon of a social movement of relative deprivation carried out in connection with the cancellation or postponement of regional head elections is the result of aspirations that have not been realized.

The implementation of the efficiency policy of affirmation policy in Indonesia provides room for 30% of the number of women legislative candidates who are advancing at the regional and central levels. The policy is realized in the regulation of political contestation in Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning elections. The KPU and political parties must be able to ensure that the fulfillment of this regulation takes place for the sake of fair elections. However, the existence of this Law does not necessarily make women's representation pass the Legislative general election. This research is an empirical research, namely field research in this case using primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the results of interviews with respondents. Secondary data is obtained from books, laws and regulations, and the internet. The results of this study show that 1) Women's representation in the legislative general election in East Manggarai district in 2019 has met the 30% quota, but only 1 person from 157 female legislative candidates has qualified to become a legislative member. 2) Factors that inhibit women's representation in the legislature are legal structure, legal substance and legal culture.

Elections serve as a crucial pillar of democracy, allowing citizens to participate in the selection of leaders and shaping national policies. In Indonesia, the General Election Commission (KPU) is responsible for organizing elections, ensuring that the process is transparent, fair, and accountable. Understanding public perceptions of the KPU's performance is vital for evaluating the success and legitimacy of the democratic process, particularly in regions like Benowo District, Surabaya, which reflects the broader dynamics of local democracy. This study employs a qualitative methodology to explore and interpret the views and experiences of the public regarding the KPU's performance in the 2024 Election. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with community leaders and direct observation of the election process. The qualitative approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of the complex and nuanced perceptions held by the community. The findings reveal that the public in Benowo District generally holds a positive perception of the KPU's performance, appreciating the orderliness, transparency, and efficiency of the electoral process. However, challenges such as logistics management were identified, indicating areas where the KPU can improve in future elections. These insights are crucial for enhancing the quality of electoral administration and strengthening the democratic process in Indonesia.

General elections (elections) in Indonesia are a major pillar of democracy that require strict supervision and management to ensure fairness and transparency. Independent institutions such as the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (BAWASLU), and the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) play a key role in maintaining election integrity. The KPU is responsible for organizing elections at all levels of government, including planning, implementing, and supervising election stages, with a focus on transparency and public participation. BAWASLU functions as a supervisor to prevent and prosecute election violations, while the DKPP is tasked with handling violations of the election organizer's code of ethics. The research of this paper aims to understand the meaning and main tasks or authorities and functions of each of these institutions. The method used in this study is Library Research and Internet Searching, a literature review of literature in the form of books and articles from relevant internet sources. The results of the analysis show that the synergy between the KPU, BAWASLU, and DKPP is very important in creating democratic and integrity-based elections, with each institution having a role or authority, responsibility, and complementary functions. A deep understanding of the duties and functions of these three institutions is expected to improve the quality of election implementation in Indonesia.

The election supervision function is the authority of Bawaslu, thus Bawaslu needs participatory supervision. The participatory supervision carried out by Bawaslu is by involving community groups such as NGOs, and other organizations. Therefore, Bawaslu Bintan formed Saka Adhyasta Pemilu to assist in overseeing the implementation of elections and following up on violations that occur. This study aims to evaluate the quality of participatory supervision carried out by Saka Adhyasta Pemilu in the 2024 elections in Bintan Regency. The research method used is qualitative with data collection through interviews, field notes, and official documents. There are 4 indicators of participatory supervision according to Pasaribu (2011), namely monitoring, inspection, guidance and direction, and correction. The results showed that the indicators of monitoring, inspection, and correction were still not effective, as seen from the lack of violation reports submitted to Bawaslu by Saka Adhyasta Pemilu. However, in the guidance and direction indicator, it has proven effective because Bawaslu has provided education on monitoring and preventing disputed violations in the 2024 elections in Bintan Regency. The factors that make participatory supervision carried out by Saka Adhyasta Pemilu not run well are because of their young age, lack of critical attitude, lack of experience and minimal knowledge of elections.

The handling of election crimes is one of the important aspects in maintaining the integrity and fairness of the process of holding general elections in Indonesia. The Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu Center) was formed as a forum for law enforcement of violations of crimes in General Rehabilitation which is carried out in an integrated manner by Bawaslu, the National Police, and the Prosecutor's Office. However, in practice, in the Batam City Gakkumdu Center, it was found that there were obstacles caused by Batam City Gakkumdu Center officers who did not understand their duties and authorities as well as the applicable rules in handling election violation cases, namely investigators who did not carry out investigations in the Gakkumdu Center. This study aims to analyze juridically the optimization of the handling of election crimes by the Gakkumdu Center with a focus on the Batam City Bawaslu. This study uses a normative juridical research method with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through document studies, in-depth interviews with members of Bawaslu, the Police, and the Prosecutor's Office, as well as direct observation of the case handling process by the Gakkumdu Center in Batam City. Data analysis is carried out in a descriptive-analytical manner to identify obstacles and formulate optimization efforts. The results of the study show that there are officers of the Batam City Gakkumdu Center who are not compliant in carrying out their duties and authorities in accordance with applicable rules in handling cases of election violations, namely investigators who do not carry out investigations in the Gakkumdu Center so that as a result of Bawaslu members at the Gakkumdu Center being confused/not taking a stand in deciding the case to be stopped/continued because the facts of the calrification results are not drawn optimally, so that there is a potential for expiration in case handling and administrative issuance that does not comply with principles. The implementation of democracy at the village level can be proof that political development in Indonesia has developed rapidly by involving local communities, so that they are able to carry out the functions of regional government power in order to achieve the goal of advancing and prospering people's lives. Non-voting behavior are a group of people who are unwilling and negligent in giving their voting rights in elections for various reasons, whether in legislative elections, regional elections, presidential elections or village head elections. Non-voting behavior are also called blanks or abstentions in elections that are limited to an organization, company or institution. Voter absence at an election is closely related to voter dissatisfaction or satisfaction. In Kote Village, non-voting behavior has a large number compared to other villages in Singkep Pesisir District. The existence of this phenomenon certainly has a cause for non-voting behavior by the Kote Village Community. The aim of this research is to determine the factors causing non-voting behavior in Kote Village, Lingga Regency and the main factors causing non-voting behavior in Kote Village, Lingga Regency. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out through interviews with several informants who were related to the research. The results of the research show that the non-voting behavior carried out by the people of Kote Village is caused by several things, namely the attitude of the community who are less concerned about the ongoing Village Head Election which is based on the lack of influence of the Village Head Election on the community. Some communities find it difficult to contribute to village policy making and do not understand the ongoing village election system. Apart from that, there are people who believe that the Village Head candidate they support will win or lose in the ongoing Village Head Election so they feel there is no need to come to vote. However, the reason why most people in Kote Village do not vote is because of work factors that cannot be left behind due to economic needs and educational factors, especially students who study outside the area and are unable to return to Kote Village to carry out the Village Head election.

The purpose of this research is to analyze E-voting arrangements in organizing elections in Indonesia in accordance with the principles of organizing elections in Indonesia. This research is normative legal research which bases its analysis on applicable laws and regulations that are relevant to the legal issues that are the focus of the research. The research data sources are primary data, secondary data and tertiary data which are then analyzed juridically-qualitatively and presented in descriptive form. The research results show that implementing E-voting can overcome various problems in conventional voting systems, but implementing E-voting in elections in Indonesia faces challenges in terms of the readiness of the government, election organizers (KPU), and community culture. Although E-voting offers efficiency and increased participation, clear regulations are still missing, hindering widespread implementation. The readiness of infrastructure and human resources is also an issue, considering the need for adequate training and technology. In addition, people's cultural tendencies that tend to be skeptical of new technology can influence the acceptance of E-voting. Therefore, a comprehensive study and gradual preparation are needed to optimize the implementation of E-voting.

In the 2024 General Election, DPD PDI Perjuangan Central Java implemented the Komandante Stelsel system to win DPRD seats through gotong royong. If a candidate gets the most votes but is not from the designated ampuan area, the candidate must resign and be replaced by another candidate according to this system. This research examines the rules for the election of DPRD candidates in the 2024 elections and the impact of the Komandante Stelsel system implemented by the DPD PDI Perjuangan Central Java. The research method uses empirical approach, case study, and legislation. The results showed that the 2024 Election uses an open proportional system, where the electability of candidates is based on the most votes. However, the Komandante Stelsel system is different because candidates' valid votes can only be obtained from the ampuan region. As a result, many candidates who obtained the most votes failed to become DPRD members because they had to resign in accordance with the provisions of this system.
