Lawang Kidul Mosque is one of the historical buildings that holds significant architectural, social, and religious value in the city of Palembang. Founded during the Dutch colonial era by Ki Marogan, this mosque not only served as a center for religious activities but also stood as a silent witness to the historical journey of Palembang from the colonial period to independence. This article aims to trace the history of Lawang Kidul Mosque, its architectural form, and analyze its strategic role in community life. The methods used include literature review and qualitative methods through direct observation and interviews to collect the necessary data for this study. The results show that Lawang Kidul Mosque was established in 1881, built by Ki Marogan. It is the second mosque founded by him, with the first being Kiyai Marogan Mosque, which was constructed earlier in 1871. The architectural style of Lawang Kidul Mosque resembles that of the Great Mosque of Palembang, although it is smaller in size. Lawang Kidul Mosque is supported by four large wooden soko guru pillars and twelve smaller columns. The pulpit of Lawang Kidul Mosque features distinctive Palembang carvings dominated by floral motifs. Additionally, there are four green flags inscribed with Islamic phrases such as the Asmaul Husna and the Shahada. The pulpit also displays the year of its construction, which is 1310 Hijri

This study investigates the ritual of worshipping the God of Fortune, particularly Kongco Han Tan Kong, as practiced by the Chinese-Indonesian community in Sentul, Bogor, where Bio Dewa Rejeki serves as the central site of ritual performance. Viewed through an anthropolinguistic lens, the research explores the interplay between language and cultural practices within the ritual, employing an ethnographic approach to examine the meanings, symbols, and values embedded in it, as well as their role in shaping communal identity. Beyond its religious dimension, the ritual reflects complex social and cultural dynamics, functioning as a mechanism for reinforcing solidarity and fostering identity amidst rapid social change. Statistical data indicate a significant rise in visitors to Bio Dewa Rejeki during the Lunar New Year celebration, averaging 5,000 daily visitors, thereby highlighting its strong appeal and integrative role within the local community while also attracting interest from non-Chinese participants seeking spiritual experience. Data collection is conducted through participant observation and in-depth interviews with organizers and participants over several months, providing a comprehensive understanding of the ritual’s implementation, symbolic meanings, and perceived significance in daily life. The findings are expected to contribute to a broader understanding of the interrelationship between language, culture, and religious practice within the Chinese-Indonesian community, underscoring the central role of language and communication in shaping spiritual experience and communal identity.

Teachers are required to adopt a wise and thoughtful approach in teaching, since their perception of students will influence their attitudes and actions. Not all teachers assess students in the same way, and this affects the methods they apply in the classroom. To achieve optimal learning outcomes, teachers must take on new roles as facilitators, mediators, learning partners, and evaluators. This means creating a democratic and dialogical learning atmosphere between teachers and students, as well as among students themselves. One effective way is by applying the PAIKEM learning model (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable). This study aims to: (1) Describe the implementation of the PAIKEM model in Islamic Religious Education for Grade VII at Darul Ishlah Junior High School. (2) Describe the obstacles encountered in applying this model. The research uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the PAIKEM model has been implemented well, through discussions, opportunities for students to express opinions, group assignments, interactive communication, motivation, use of media such as videos, and enjoyable memorization. However, challenges include limited learning media, teachers’ creativity that is not yet optimal, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and low student motivation.

This study aims to identify and describe the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in addressing cases of cyberbullying at SMA Al-Islam Krian, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies implemented in its prevention and handling. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI teachers serve not only as educators but also as moral guides and motivators who instill Islamic values through personal approaches, digital ethics education, and the reinforcement of students' religious character. The strategies implemented include integrating religious values into the learning process, using religious activities to shape character, and participating in conflict mediation among students. Challenges faced include limited digital literacy among teachers, insufficient school policy support, and a lack of awareness among students and parents regarding the impact of cyberbullying. The study concludes that the role of PAI teachers is highly strategic and should be strengthened through training, supportive policies, and collaboration with various stakeholders to create a safe and morally grounded school environment .

This study examines tourism development policies and their contribution to increasing Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in Gresik Regency. The research specifically analyzes policy implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their implications for local economic growth. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected from key informants within the Gresik Regency Government, including the Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports, as well as relevant supporting agencies. Primary data were supplemented with secondary sources, and analysis was conducted using McNabb’s (2002) model, which involves data grouping, interpretation, and the formulation of generalizable insights. Findings indicate that tourism development policies in Gresik Regency focus on five key areas: designation and spatial planning of tourism zones, development of tourist attractions and supporting infrastructure, promotion of tourism activities, and business development initiatives. These policies are supported by government regulations, community involvement, improved facilities, diversified tourism destinations, and marketing strategies utilizing both online and offline media. However, several inhibiting factors were identified, including limited funding, inadequate human resources, lack of cooperation with third parties, negative public perceptions, and insufficient knowledge about tourism potential. Overall, tourism in Gresik Regency demonstrates significant potential to enhance PAD, given its diverse natural, cultural, and religious attractions. The study concludes that strengthening collaboration, improving human resource capacity, and increasing promotional efforts are essential for optimizing tourism’s contribution to sustainable regional economic development. Future research should explore quantitative measurements of tourism's economic impact to validate the qualitative findings. Additionally, implementing performance-based budgeting for tourism programs may improve resource allocation and accountability.

Child marriage remains a serious problem in Indonesia despite the revision of the Marriage Law, which raised the minimum age for marriage to 19 for both men and women through Law No. 16 of 2019. This practice remains widespread, especially in rural areas with a high prevalence due to economic and cultural factors, the existence of marriage dispensation mechanisms, and low legal literacy. The phenomenon of child marriage has multidimensional impacts, including reproductive health risks, high school dropout rates, low quality human resources, economic vulnerability, and psychological problems that can ultimately lead to high divorce rates and intergenerational structural poverty. Through Community Service Activities (PKM), prevention efforts are carried out by providing legal education and outreach regarding the risks of early marriage. Methods used include lectures, presentations, modeling, role plays, and small group discussions involving teenagers, parents, traditional leaders, and religious leaders. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in legal understanding, where 85% of participants were aware of the minimum age for marriage according to the latest regulations. Furthermore, there was increased awareness of the negative impacts of child marriage and a growing commitment from community leaders to continue ongoing outreach. The conclusion of this activity confirmed that marriage law education is an effective strategy in raising public awareness. However, preventing child marriage cannot rely solely on legal outreach; it needs to be strengthened through cross-sector collaboration, integration of materials into the school curriculum, family economic empowerment, and strengthening the role of religious and traditional leaders in shaping social opinion. Therefore, efforts to prevent early marriage require a more holistic, participatory, and sustainable strategy to protect children's rights and realize the development of a quality future generation.

This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges faced by novice teachers in implementing a dual curriculum—which includes the national curriculum and Islamic curriculum—in Islamic Elementary Schools (SDI). The dual curriculum in SDI requires integration between mastery of general knowledge and instilling strong Islamic values. However, in practice, novice teachers experience various difficulties, ranging from limited understanding of the two types of curriculum, heavy administrative burdens, to social and cultural pressures of religious schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature studies, by analyzing relevant academic literature from journals, proceedings, and scientific books in the last ten years. The results of the analysis show that novice teachers experience challenges in pedagogical, structural, psychological, and cultural aspects. They often feel unprepared to develop integrative teaching materials, manage time effectively, and meet institutional and parental expectations. The lack of mentoring, training, and assistance programs also worsen the situation, causing work stress and the risk of burnout. This study concludes that the challenges faced by novice teachers in the context of the dual curriculum are systemic and require a structured and sustainable solution approach, such as strengthening integrated training, integrating curriculum management, and developing a professional development system that supports the pedagogical and spiritual development of novice teachers.

This study explores the complexity of ikrar talak (divorce declaration) that does not comply with Indonesia's positive legal framework and its impact on the legal protection of wives and children. Although the Marriage Law and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) regulate the formal procedures for divorce, verbal divorce declarations outside the court remain prevalent, causing legal uncertainty and harm to vulnerable parties. This research employs a normative juridical method, focusing on legal statutes and Islamic legal principles. The findings reveal the urgent need for harmonization between Islamic law and positive law to ensure justice and optimal protection, especially for women and children. Major obstacles include low legal literacy, social acceptance of verbal talak, and limited access to judicial institutions. The study proposes strengthening the role of religious courts, enhancing public legal education, and applying the maqashid sharia approach to safeguard fundamental rights. A holistic legal reform is necessary to ensure that the ikrar talak process adheres to formal legal standards while protecting vulnerable groups.

This community service activity aims to improve the ability to read the Qur'an among children in Pengkol Hamlet, Ngrami Village, through guidance and the role of the Qur'an Education Park (TPQ). The background of this research is the low ability to read the Qur'an due to limited teaching methods, lack of intensive guidance, low motivation to learn, and inadequate TPQ facilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving TPQ managers, teachers, and students. The results showed that children in Pengkol Hamlet generally have low Al-Qur'an reading skills, with many errors in the pronunciation of makharijul letters and incorrect application of reading laws. The presence of KDLK students in assisting teaching has made the learning process more conducive and allowed for creative activities such as competitions. Factors influencing the effectiveness of TPQ include teacher quality and competence, curriculum and learning methods, and family and community support. The main obstacle found is the large number of children (40 children) which is not proportional to the number of teachers. This community service is expected to create significant social change in improving sustainable Qur'an reading skills and strengthening religious values in the community.
