The implementation of Financial Accounting Standards Statement (PSAK) 116, which replaces PSAK 30, aims to enhance financial statement transparency by eliminating off-balance sheet transactions. This study reviews the literature on the impact of PSAK 116 on earnings management practices. The literature review findings reveal differing results across studies; some indicate that PSAK 116 improves transparency and reduces earnings management, while others suggest that PSAK 116 instead encourages earnings management to maintain certain financial ratios. Factors such as firm size, industry sector, regulatory environment, and corporate governance influence how PSAK 116 affects managerial behavior. The implications of this study highlight the importance of oversight and additional regulations to minimize the likelihood of financial statement manipulation, as well as the need for further research to understand the impact of PSAK 116 across various industry contexts and business environments.

Nigeria's economy has been severely stagnant since the 1980s. Afrocentric literature charts the nation's history, whereas Eurocentric literature identifies the Nigerian civil war and the corrupt practices of its leaders as the primary cause economic hardships to her historical colonial dominance and economic exploitation activities. However, none of the aforementioned reasons provide stronger support for being the cause of the nation's economic dysfunction, particularly when contrasted with IMF measures implemented there. The IMF's policies on Nigeria's Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) and its Loan Conditionality are partially shown in this article to be "the crux impediment facing the country." As a result, the paper makes the case that, among other mismanagement policies, General Ibrahim Babangida's acceptance of IMF loans contributed to the nation's economic problems and backwardness. Using primary and secondary sources, the study makes the argument that its riches would be restored by a more inclusive economic system free of the current extractive economic practices.

This study examines the impact of the Central Bank of Nigeria's monetary policies on the Nigerian economy, specifically how these policies can be applied to foster economic growth. The research employs multiple regression models as the primary statistical method to analyze the relationship between key variables: money supply, average price levels, interest rates, labor force, and their effects on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Using data from 1981 to 2008, the study applies the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method to assess these effects comprehensively. The findings indicate that monetary policy, as reflected by money supply, positively influences GDP growth and improves the balance of payments, while also having a negative impact on inflation rates. The study suggests that the Nigerian money market should introduce a broader range of financial instruments to cater to the growing economy’s needs. Additionally, the recommendations emphasize the importance of designing monetary policies that create a favorable investment climate by adjusting interest rates, currency rates, and liquidity management mechanisms. By fostering a well-regulated and flexible monetary system, the Central Bank can further enhance the economic stability and growth of Nigeria, supporting sustainable development in the long term.

The study looked into how Nigeria's democratic system's economic growth was impacted by the cost of governance. The cost of governance factors is divided into general GDP was the dependent variable and a stand-in for economic growth, while administration, defense, internal security, and national assembly were the explanatory variables. The study examined Nigeria's fourth republic's civil rule from 2019 to 2024. Ordinary Least Square regression and diagnostic tests were performed. The findings indicate that while internal security (-106.17 ISEC) has a negative impact on GDP, general administration (8.67 GA), defense (169.99 DEF), and national assembly (496.50 NAS) have favorable effects. According to the hypotheses' summary, (1) the federal government's expenditure on general administrations has no discernible positive impact on Nigeria's economic growth; (2) the federal government's expenditure on defense has a discernible positive impact on Nigeria's economic growth; and (3) the federal government's expenditure on internal Nigeria's economic growth is significantly impacted negatively by security, whereas the country's economic growth is significantly impacted positively by the federal government's national assembly costs. The research suggested, among other things, that the funds allocated to internal security be examined and that cost-benefit studies be performed on the parastatals that receive the funds.

This study set out to investigate the connection between Nigerian deposit money banks' financial success and their dividend policies. This is accomplished by reviewing existing theoretical and empirical the signaling hypothesis served as the foundation for the study and the creation of literature. The Financial Statements and Annual Reports of 18 (18) Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria for the years 2015–2019 provided the data for this study, which used a longitudinal survey research approach. The arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, and the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) regression technique were used to analyze the data produced for this study using both descriptive and inferential statistics. E-Views version 10 was used to calculate these. The study's conclusions showed that dividend policies had a mixed impact on the financial performance of Nigerian deposit money institutions. However, the dividend pay-out ratio significantly and negatively correlates with financial performance (return on equity), dividend yield has no discernible impact on the financial performance (ROE) of Nigerian deposit money institutions. The greatest African economy is that of Nigeria, which was rated as Determining the percentage of dividend payments that would improve financial performance in terms of return on equity requires management of deposit money banks to have a strong and sound dividend policy in place. They should also put in more effort to raise dividend yield and improve its influence on the financial performance (return on equity) of deposit money banks in Nigeria.

With a focus on Nigeria specifically, this study examined the country's external debt and economic growth from 1985 to 2014. The underdevelopment of Nigeria is one of the study's main issues economy. Measuring how external debt affects the country's growth is one of the study's goals. According to the theoretical perspective, external debt is a tool of fiscal policy that closes the savings gap. The ex-post facto method of design was the research design employed in this study. With GDP as the dependent variable and multilateral debt, Paris Club debt, London Club debt, promissory notes, and other debt as the independent variables, the findings were analyzed using the ordinary least square multiple regression analytical approach. The hypotheses were tested using the Pearson correlation and the student T-test. All types of external indebtedness contributed to the GDP's development, according to the data analysis, the Pearson While the dependent variable had a direct link with the other independent variables, GDP had an inverse association with Paris Club debt and promissory notes, as described by correlation. In order to reject the null hypotheses and accept the alternative hypotheses, the tested hypotheses showed that each independent variable had a positive influence and was significant to the effect of the dependent variable. According to the study's findings, Nigeria's economic growth is significantly impacted by external debt, and as a result, better management of these borrowings is advised in order to achieve sustainable growth.

This research aims to analyze the relationships among total risk, capital structure, and profitability, and their impact on corporate sustainability, with firm performance acting as a mediator. Corporate sustainability has become increasingly important in today’s competitive and dynamic business environment. A literature review indicates that well-managed total risk can enhance firm performance, while an optimal capital structure contributes to higher profitability. In turn, profitability enables companies to invest in innovation and sustainable development. This study identifies a gap in the existing literature, as few studies integrate these three factors within the context of sustainability. By employing a comprehensive analytical approach, this research seeks to provide deeper insights into how total risk, capital structure, and profitability interact to support corporate sustainability. The findings are expected to significantly contribute to financial management practices and sustainable corporate policies.

This study analyzes the implementation of the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) at Alfapro Stationery. The analysis results indicate that Alfapro Stationery has applied several basic principles of SAK EMKM in preparing its financial statements, such as recognizing fixed assets based on acquisition costs, recording inventory, and recognizing revenue and expenses. The financial statements prepared include the statement of financial position, income statement, and notes to the financial statements, supported by a computer-based accounting system (AIO System) that helps generate automatic financial reports every month, thereby increasing accuracy and transparency. However, Alfapro Stationery has not been able to separate personal and business assets, violating the "Separate Economic Entity" concept, which is fundamental in preparing financial statements according to SAK EMKM. Although the company's financial statements formally appear to meet the requirements of SAK EMKM, the lack of clear separation between personal and business assets indicates non-compliance with the standard. Further research can focus on a more in-depth analysis of the effectiveness of the internal control system, evaluating the impact of the latest technology on store operations, better human resource management strategies, and comparative studies with other UMKM that have best practices. This aims to provide broader perspectives and innovative solutions to be implemented at Alfapro Stationery.
