Anemia is a common nutritional problem that occurs in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and teenage girls. One of its main causes is iron deficiency, which can be exacerbated by low vitamin C intake. Red guava (Psidium guajava L.) is a local fruit that is rich in vitamin C and has the potential to improve iron absorption, thus supporting an increase in hemoglobin levels. This study aims to review the effectiveness of red guava in increasing hemoglobin as an effort to prevent anemia. This study uses a literature review design on five experimental research articles published in the last 10 years. The study results show that the consumption of red guava, whether consumed alone or in combination, can significantly increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women and adolescent girls with anemia. The vitamin C content in red guava plays a role in enhancing the bioavailability of iron needed for hemoglobin formation. Thus, red guava has the potential to be used as part of a locally based food nutrition intervention that is effective, affordable, and applicable in the effort to prevent anemia.

Background: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a combination of physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms that occur cyclically before menstruation and are commonly experienced by adolescent girls. Common symptoms include fatigue, abdominal pain, headaches, anxiety, and mood disturbances, which can affect sleep quality, concentration, and academic productivity. This article provides an in-depth examination of the definition, types, prevalence, causes, impacts, and management of PMS in adolescent girls. Based on epidemiological data, the prevalence of PMS is quite high, both globally and nationally, with incidence rates in Indonesia reaching 70–90% among women of reproductive age, and most cases beginning during adolescence. There are four main types of PMS: Type A (anxiety), Type H (hyperhidrosis), Type C (food cravings), and Type D (depression), each with specific characteristics and etiologies. Causes of PMS include hormonal imbalances of estrogen and progesterone, reduced serotonin levels, poor sleep quality, psychological stress, genetic factors, and unhealthy lifestyles. The impact of PMS on adolescents is complex, including decreased academic performance, social relationship disturbances, and reduced psychological well-being. Therefore, PMS management should be approached holistically through pharmacological (such as NSAIDs, antidepressants, and diuretics) and non-pharmacological (physical exercise, relaxation, lifestyle changes, and nutritional education) interventions. Environmental support and reproductive health education are crucial to help adolescents effectively manage PMS symptoms and improve their quality of life. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for promotive and preventive interventions in adolescent health care.

Early marriage in Indonesia is a significant reproductive health issue, particularly for adolescent girls. This study aims to explore the impact of early marriage on reproductive health and the contributing factors. Early marriage, defined as marriage before the age of 19, can lead to various health problems, including a high risk of pregnancy complications and mental health issues. Data indicates that Indonesia has a high rate of early marriage, with the highest prevalence in several provinces. The method used is a literature review analyzing 30 relevant scientific journals from 2015 to 2025. The findings indicate that early marriage is associated with an increased risk of pregnancy complications, disturbed mental health, and low knowledge about reproductive health among adolescent girls. Further efforts are needed in reproductive health education and policies to prevent early marriage.

Unwanted pregnancy (UP) among adolescents is a reproductive health problem that affects physical, psychological, social, and economic aspects. Adolescents often lack knowledge about pregnancy and reproductive health. Therefore, effective educational methods, such as video media, are needed to increase adolescent girls’ understanding of UP. This study used a quantitative pretest-posttest design without a control group. Forty-eight ninth-grade students at SMPN 1 Sliyeg were the respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire before and after intervention using educational video. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test to see the difference in knowledge levels. The pretest results showed that 66.7% of respondents had poor knowledge, and none had good knowledge. After the intervention, all respondents (100%) had good knowledge. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference. Therefore, educational video is effective in increasing knowledge of adolescent girls regarding unwanted pregnancy.

Mental health issues among adolescents have become an increasingly critical concern, particularly regarding the low level of mental health literacy among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the role of Instagram as a health promotion medium in improving mental health literacy among adolescents aged 15–18 years. A descriptive quantitative method was employed using the Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire (MHLQ), which was distributed online to 70 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between the frequency of interaction with mental health promotion content on Instagram and adolescents' mental health literacy levels (ρ = 0.449; p < 0.05). Most respondents demonstrated moderate to high levels of mental health literacy, suggesting that Instagram has the potential to be an effective tool for enhancing adolescents' understanding and awareness of mental health issues. This study provides evidence that social media can serve as a non-formal intervention tool to support efforts in increasing mental health literacy among Indonesian adolescents.

Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood marked by various physical, emotional, and social changes. One of the main challenges faced by adolescents is a lack of self-confidence, which can hinder the development of self-potential and social interaction. Based on observations at the Taruna Yodha Sukoharjo Children's Social Service Center, it was found that many adolescents showed an inferior attitude, were afraid of being wrong, and were reluctant to express their opinions in public. Therefore, this community service aims to increase awareness of the importance of self-confidence through interactive socialization. The implementation method includes four stages, namely the presentation of material on the concept of self-confidence, discussion of personal experiences, providing positive affirmations, and ice breaking to build familiarity. This activity was attended by most of the adolescents at the center and succeeded in increasing active participation from 20% to 50%. Although there were still obstacles such as limited time and the difficulty of some participants in expressing themselves verbally, the evaluation results showed an increase in social interaction and enthusiasm in implementing positive affirmations. This activity proves that an interactive approach can be an effective solution in fostering adolescent self-confidence. For more optimal results, ongoing programs such as public speaking training and psychological assistance are needed. It is hoped that teenagers in the shelter can continue to develop their potential and face social challenges with more confidence.
