This community service activity was carried out through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program at SDN 30 V Koto Kampung Dalam, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. The activity aimed to restore the psychological condition and learning spirit of students who experienced trauma following a fire disaster. Five educational games were implemented, namely sendok tepung (spoon and flour), pipet aqua (straw transfer), naga balon (balloon dragon), biskuit Roma (biscuit game), and joget balon (balloon dance). These games were selected to stimulate physical, social, emotional, and mental aspects of students. The instruction was delivered directly using a microphone and speaker system, with a storytelling approach that sparked imagination rather than evoking pity. The impact was measured through behavioral observation, with positive indicators including students transitioning from drooping posture to upright, laughter replacing silence, and passive children beginning to vocalize and cheer. Results indicated that educational game-based socialization is effective as a non-therapeutic initial psychosocial recovery strategy for disaster-affected children. This activity demonstrates that simple and participatory methods can significantly contribute to restoring children's learning motivation and psychological resilience post-disaster.

Background: Anxiety can affect physiological functions in patients prior to surgery, including increased heart rate and respiration, changes in blood pressure and temperature, relaxation of smooth muscles in the bladder, cold and clammy skin, and dry mouth, which may reduce the patient’s energy level. Psychologically, anxiety can lead to increased postoperative pain, delayed wound healing, increased physical disability, and decreased quality of life. One effective non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety is Benson relaxation therapy. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of benson relaxation therapy on reducing anxiety levels in pre operative. Methods: This study used a case study design involving one preoperative patient with anxiety symptoms in the Teratai Ward of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto. Benson relaxation therapy was administered for 3 days, twice daily, with a duration of 15 minutes per session. Anxiety levels were measured using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) before and after the intervention. Results: The patient showed a decrease in anxiety score from 55 (moderate anxiety) to 40 (mild anxiety) after receiving Benson relaxation therapy. Subjectively, the patient reported feeling calmer, more accepting, and motivated. Objectively, there was a reduction in heart rate and physical signs of anxiety. Conclusion: Benson relaxation therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels in preoperative patients. This intervention can be used as a non-pharmacological alternative to support psychological recovery of pre-operative patients.

This study explores the themes of poverty and educational values in the novel Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah by Naguib Mahfouz using the sociology of literature approach developed by Alan Swingewood. The novel is selected because it portrays the social reality of Egyptian society in the 1940s, particularly the lower class facing economic hardship, social inequality, and limited social mobility. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through reading, note-taking, and library research. The data are drawn from narratives, dialogues, and events in the novel that reflect both poverty and educational values. The analysis is conducted by relating the textual content to its social and historical context. The findings indicate that poverty is not merely an economic issue but also a structural condition affecting the psychological, moral, and social aspects of the characters. Furthermore, the novel conveys educational values, including religious, moral, social, and cultural dimensions, which are closely linked to the realities of pre-revolutionary Egyptian society. Overall, Swingewood’s approach highlights the novel as a form of social critique as well as a medium for fostering readers’ social awareness.

This study aims to analyze the difference in anxiety levels before and after the administration of Qur’anic murottal therapy among third-trimester pregnant women. The third trimester is often associated with increased physical discomfort and psychological stress, which may lead to higher anxiety levels. This research employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach involving 25 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS), and the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The findings showed that before the intervention, 48% of respondents experienced moderate anxiety and 52% experienced severe anxiety. After the intervention, 40% experienced mild anxiety, 48% moderate, and only 12% severe anxiety. The statistical test result indicated a Z value of -4.376 with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there was a significant difference in anxiety levels before and after the intervention. These results suggest that murottal therapy is effective in reducing anxiety among third-trimester pregnant women and can be considered as a safe non-pharmacological intervention.

The tradition of marriage gift money (uang hantaran) in the Malay community of Melibur Village, Talang Muandau District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, remains a customary practice preserved as a symbol of respect for the bride’s family and a sign of the groom’s seriousness. However, over time, its meaning has shifted toward materialism, as the amount is often determined by social status, educational background, and family prestige, potentially causing economic burdens, psychological pressure, delays, and even the cancellation of marriages. This study aims to describe the practice of uang hantaran and formulate an Islamic legal reconstruction of the tradition in accordance with the principle of simplicity. This research is a field research employing a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively and analytically using the maslahahmursalah approach in Islamic law. The findings indicate that the practice of uang hantaran in Melibur Village is still maintained as part of local custom; however, its implementation has shifted from a symbolic function to a materialistic one, resulting in economic pressure on the groom’s family, psychological burdens on prospective spouses, and delays in marriage. From the perspective of maslahahmursalah, uang hantaran may be categorized as maslahahhajiyyah when determined flexibly and without imposing hardship, but it becomes mafsadah when the amount is excessive and causes harm. Therefore, the reconstruction of Islamic law regarding this tradition emphasizes that uang hantaran is not a legal requirement for marriage but rather a complementary customary practice whose determination should be based on deliberation, mutual consent, economic capability, and the principle of simplicity (taysir), so that it does not hinder the objectives of marriage in Islam.

This study aims to qualitatively analyze the impact of order cancellations and customer ratings on the performance, performance, and income of online motorcycle taxi (Gojek) drivers in the Slawi region. The research method used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of a number of active drivers. The results show that the high rate of order cancellations, both from customers and the system, negatively impacts driver income stability and reduces work time efficiency. Furthermore, customer ratings play a crucial role in determining driver access to orders, incentives, and account sustainability. Drivers with low ratings tend to experience decreased performance due to limited opportunities to receive orders. On the other hand, the pressure to maintain high ratings also affects drivers' psychological state and work strategies. This study concludes that order cancellations and customer ratings are crucial factors that are interrelated in influencing the work quality and welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers. Therefore, fairer and more transparent platform policies are needed to maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and driver protection.

Psychological conflicts often arise intensely, as illustrated in Usmar Ismail’s play Ayahku Pulang. The character Gunarto experiences inner turmoil and trauma from family disputes, which trigger various defense mechanisms. This study aims to describe the forms of defense mechanisms exhibited by Gunarto and identify the factors behind their emergence.  Using a literacy  psychology approach, specifically Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, the research elaborates on the character’s psychological dynamics. The qualitative method employed the read-and-record technique, with data analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model involving reduction, classification, and inference. Findings reveal eight defense mechanisms used by Gunarto: denial, repression, avoidance, compartmentalization, rationalization, displacement, sublimation, and identification with the aggressor. Their emergence is influenced by psychological factors such as past trauma, economic hardship, and disharmonious family relationships. In conclusion, Gunarto’s defense mechanisms reflect symptoms of individuals facing trauma and family disharmony. This study demonstrates how a literary-psychological approach enriches understanding of literature as a reflection of the human psyche and reveals more about a character’s inner world.

This study analyzes how Abuela Alma Madrigal's behaviors toward her family in Disney's Encanto (2021) are influenced by Jungian archetypes. The psychological analysis of matriarchal characters in animated films has received little attention, despite the widespread usage of Jungian theory in film analysis. The aim of this study is to identify the Jungian archetypes that Abuela embodies and analyze how they influence her relationships with the Madrigal family. Data was gathered by repeatedly watching the movie using a qualitative, descriptive approach. Jung's archetypal theory (1959) served as the main framework for the analysis of a selection of dialogues that were transcribed and classified based on specific archetypes. The results show that Abuela's behavior is greatly influenced by five archetypes. She is motivated by the persona archetype to maintain a public persona of magical perfection, valuing each family member according to how they contribute to this image. The trauma of losing her husband Pedro is the source of the Shadow archetype, which takes the form of denial and blame projection until Mirabel confronts it. The Great Mother archetype illustrates how her parental love turned into conditional acceptance and overprotection. The Wise Old Woman archetype highlights the difference between her appearance of authority and the personal doubt she carries. Finally, the Self archetype signifies her psychological transformation as she completely accepts the value of each family member and integrates her suppressed fears, completing Jung's individuation process. These results validate that Jungian theory provides a useful framework for analyzing matriarchal characters in animated films and show how universal psychological patterns associated with trauma, authority, and family dynamics can be meaningfully reflected in modern animated films.

The rapid growth of digital marketplaces has significantly reshaped consumption behavior among university students. Promotional strategies based on scarcity and urgency, such as flash sales, limited-time discounts, and countdown timers, are designed to induce psychological pressure, potentially triggering Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and FoMO among university students who use digital marketplaces. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 70 undergraduate students selected through accidental sampling. Self-control was measured using the Brief Self-Control Scale, while FoMO was assessed using an adapted Online FoMO Scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation after fulfilling normality assumptions. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between self-control and FoMO (r = –0.522, p < .001), indicating that individuals with higher self-control tend to experience lower levels of FoMO in marketplace contexts. These findings highlight the role of self-regulation as a protective factor against emotionally driven consumption behavior. This study contributes to the literature on digital consumer psychology by extending the concept of FoMO beyond social interaction into economic decision-making contexts. Strengthening self-control is therefore essential in helping individuals manage psychological pressure arising from urgency-based marketing strategies.

This research investigates how celebrity endorsements, customer reviews, and pricing affect consumers’ intention to purchase Scarlett Whitening products. Amid intense competition in the skincare industry, firms are required to focus not only on product features but also on psychological and perceptual aspects that influence consumer behavior. Celebrity endorsers contribute to strengthening brand trust, customer reviews offer insight based on user experiences, while price reflects consumers’ perceived value of the product. This study adopts a quantitative explanatory design, with data obtained from 204 respondents through structured questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that celebrity endorsers, customer reviews, and price have both simultaneous and individual positive and significant impacts on purchase intention. An adjusted R-square value of 0.274 suggests that these variables account for 27.4% of the variation in consumers’ purchase intention. Overall, the results highlight that appropriate endorsements, trustworthy reviews, and competitive pricing collectively enhance consumers’ intention to purchase Scarlett Whitening products

This study examines legal protection for victims of criminal offenses from a victimological perspective, emphasizing the position, rights, and needs of victims within the criminal justice system. Victimology, as a scientific discipline, highlights that victims are not merely objects of crime but subjects who are entitled to protection, restoration, and justice. This research employs a normative juridical method supported by a conceptual and statutory approach to analyze existing legal frameworks governing victim protection. The findings indicate that although legal instruments have provided various forms of protection such as restitution, compensation, and psychological assistance their implementation remains suboptimal due to institutional limitations, lack of awareness, and procedural constraints. From a victimological standpoint, effective protection requires a balanced approach between offender accountability and victim recovery, including recognition of victims' rights, access to justice, and comprehensive rehabilitation. Therefore, strengthening regulations, improving institutional coordination, and adopting a more victim oriented justice system are essential to ensure optimal legal protection for victims of criminal acts.

This study is motivated by the suboptimal use of intelligence tests in guidance and counseling services in schools, despite their important role in understanding students’ cognitive abilities as a basis for providing appropriate services. This study aims to examine the utilization of intelligence tests in guidance and counseling services to support the optimization of students’ academic development. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach through the analysis of 25 relevant scientific articles published between 2022 and 2026, using content analysis techniques. The results indicate that intelligence tests play an important role in identifying cognitive abilities, supporting the planning of guidance and counseling services, assisting in academic decision-making, and guiding interventions for students’ learning difficulties. In addition, intelligence is also related to academic achievement, although it is influenced by other factors such as motivation and the learning environment. However, the findings also reveal a gap between the theoretical potential of intelligence test utilization and its implementation in practice, which still faces limitations, particularly in the integration of assessment results and the accuracy of interpretation. The implications of this study highlight the need to improve counselors’ competence in the use of psychological assessments and to optimize the systematic use of test results in order to support more effective guidance and counseling services in developing students’ academic potential.

Adolescence is a transitional period marked by rapid biological, psychological, and social changes, which often lead to various problems for individuals, particularly at the high school level. This study aims to analyze the role of guidance and counseling services in addressing these issues using a literature review approach. The method employed is a systematic literature review of relevant scientific publications from 2020 to 2026. The data collection process was carried out through the search, selection, and evaluation of literature related to student issues and guidance and counseling services in schools. The research findings indicate that students face various challenges, such as difficulties in learning, low academic ability, academic stress and anxiety, as well as social-emotional issues influenced by internal and external factors. Guidance and counseling services play a role in supporting students to self-reflect, overcome problems, and optimize their potential through preventive, curative, and developmental approaches. The success of these services is also supported by the role of counselors, collaboration with other teachers, and parental participation. However, in practice, there are still a number of obstacles, such as limited human resources, a lack of coordination, and an incomplete understanding of the functions of these services. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve implementation and cooperation so that guidance and counseling services can operate more efficiently.

Polygamy remains a controversial issue in Indonesia, involving legal, religious, and social dimensions. This study aims to analyze the social, psychological, and economic impacts of polygamy on wives and children. Using a qualitative library research approach, the study examines primary sources, including Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law, as well as relevant scientific literature and journal articles. The findings indicate that although Indonesian law permits polygamy under strict conditions, such as the wife's consent and the husband's ability to act fairly, these requirements are often difficult to fulfill in practice. Psychologically, wives frequently experience jealousy, emotional stress, depression, and feelings of injustice. Economically, polygamy may lead to the division of family resources, reducing the welfare of wives and children. Children may also experience emotional difficulties due to limited parental attention, conflicts among siblings, and social stigma. These impacts can affect family harmony and child development. Therefore, stronger legal supervision and public education are needed to ensure the protection of women's and children's rights and to minimize the negative consequences of irresponsible polygamous practices.
