This article explores the relevance of Thomas Aquinas’ concept of bonum commune (the common good) in shaping a Christian leadership paradigm amid the global and national leadership crisis, particularly in Indonesia. The phenomena of corruption, abuse of power, and weak moral orientation indicate the absence of the common good as the guiding principle in contemporary political practices. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes Aquinas’ thought, the Scriptures, Catholic social teaching, and modern literature on theology and political philosophy. The findings reveal that bonum commune serves as a fundamental principle that integrates moral, spiritual, and social dimensions of leadership. Within the Christian perspective, the principles of service, justice, love, and participation find their philosophical and theological foundation, with Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd as their ultimate model. This article emphasizes that Christian leadership rooted in bonum commune is not about domination but about servant leadership oriented toward the common good, social justice, and human dignity. A reinterpretation of Aquinas’ thought in the modern context highlights the need to understand bonum commune through dialogue, participation, and respect for pluralism. Therefore, Christian leadership in the light of bonum commune remains relevant as an alternative paradigm for building a more just, transparent, participatory, and humane society

This article discusses the role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) in shaping inclusive attitudes of students in the midst of diverse Indonesian society. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study examines how PAK can teach the values of love, justice, and respect for differences, and their impact on students' character. The development of the modern world, characterized by advances in digital technology, globalization, and complex social dynamics, has created new challenges in child-rearing practices, particularly for Muslim families. Children require not only the fulfillment of physical needs and formal education, but also balanced emotional, social, and spiritual support. This study aims to examine the concept of child-rearing based on love and compassion from the perspective of Islamic psychology, identify the core principles of Islamic parenting, and explain its implications for children’s psychological development. This research employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method with a systematic literature review design. Data sources were obtained from academic books as well as nationally accredited journals and reputable international journals published between 2020 and 2024. The data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis to identify patterns, key concepts, and relationships among variables. The findings indicate that parenting grounded in love and compassion (rahmah), combined with role modeling, justice, and wisdom in discipline, contributes positively to children’s emotional, social, moral, and spiritual development. Warm and responsive Islamic parenting supports the development of effective emotional regulation, prosocial behavior, and the internalization of faith-based and moral values in children. The results also demonstrate a strong alignment between Islamic parenting concepts and the compassionate parenting approach in modern psychology, with Islamic psychology offering a distinctive strength in its spiritual dimension. This study contributes to the reinforcement of the theoretical framework of Islamic psychology and provides practical recommendations for parents and educators in implementing balanced parenting that integrates compassion, discipline, and Islamic values in the modern era.

This study examines the integration of hermeneutic learning and systematic theology in science-based discipleship based on the concept of the Kingdom of God. The background of this research is the gap between the theological understanding of the Kingdom of God and the practice of digital discipleship which tends to be pragmatic and lacks a strong doctrinal foundation. This study uses mixed methods with a sequential explanatory design, which combines a survey of 50 respondents from pastors, lecturers, teachers, and students, as well as in-depth interviews to strengthen quantitative findings. The results of the study showed a very positive response to the integration of the values of the Kingdom of God and the use of science and technology in discipleship, especially in the aspects of digital ethics, love, responsibility, and the formation of Christian character. However, the understanding of hermeneutics and systematic theology still needs to be strengthened so that theological depth is not reduced by digital media and rapid technological flows. This research produces an integrative conceptual model of digital discipleship based on the Kingdom of God that combines hermeneutics as the basis for biblical interpretation, systematic theology as a doctrinal framework, and science and technology as a means of contextual and sustainable faith transformation.

This study aims to explore in depth the impact of Islamic parenting on the development of disciplinary character in early childhood. Conceptually, parenting in Islam is understood as a child-rearing method based on Islamic principles, emphasizing values of role modeling, love, responsibility, and moral development from an early age. Through this approach, parents serve as the first and foremost educators in instilling the values of discipline reflected in children’s daily behavior, both within the family and in social interactions. This research analyzes various ways Islamic parenting is applied in daily activities, including the habit of performing prayers on time, managing schedules for study and play, and implementing educational consequences in accordance with Islamic principles. The findings reveal that the consistent application of Islamic parenting patterns, combined with effective communication between parents and children, has a positive effect on the development of children’s disciplinary character. Children raised under Islamic parenting tend to have an awareness of obeying rules, valuing time, and taking responsibility for their duties and obligations. Conversely, the study also identifies challenges stemming from parents’ limited understanding of Islamic parenting concepts, as well as external environmental influences such as digital media and peer interactions that are not always aligned with Islamic values. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve literacy regarding Islamic parenting through educational activities involving early childhood education institutions, religious study groups, and parent communities. In general, the findings of this study highlight the importance of collaboration among families, schools, and communities in consistently applying Islamic parenting principles to foster children’s disciplinary character from an early age in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Globalization and the penetration of digital culture have accelerated the homogenization of values, which has weakened the cultural identity and social character of the younger generation. This condition places local wisdom as a source of values that not only needs to be preserved but also systematically transformed in education. This article offers a critical analysis of the integration of local wisdom in character education as a mechanism for social transformation. Using a structured literature review approach, this study analyzes the concept of local wisdom, the role of teachers as agents of cultural preservation, the challenges of implementation in the context of modern education, and strategic models for integrating local values into the curriculum and school culture. The findings show that local values such as gotong royong (mutual cooperation), tepa selira (harmony), Tri Hita Karana (harmony between humans, nature, and the divine), Silih Asah Asih Asuh (mutual encouragement, love, and care), ABS-SBK (mutual respect, honesty, and integrity), and various traditional philosophies of the archipelago have proven effective in strengthening students' social character, enhancing social cohesion, and strengthening national identity. However, obstacles such as the dominance of global culture, low cultural literacy among teachers, and weak national curriculum support are significant hindrances. This article proposes a three-layer integrative model of contextual curriculum, culture-based pedagogy, and participatory school culture as a strategy for transforming social values that are adaptive to the challenges of the digital age. The conclusion emphasizes that character education based on local wisdom is not only an instrument for cultural preservation but also a strategic framework for building social resilience and national identity amid rapid global change.

Understanding God in Christian education plays a crucial role in the moral formation of children, as the theological concept of God forms the foundation for values, character, and ethical actions, developed from an early age. In Christian education, the process of moral formation does not simply rely on rules or customs, but rather rests on the child's personal relationship with God as a loving, guiding Being, and the source of truth. This study uses qualitative methods with a library research approach to explore how the concept of God according to Christian theology can serve as a foundation for the comprehensive moral formation of children. The aim of this study is to analyze how God's attributes such as love, holiness, justice, and faithfulness can be applied in the educational process so that the moral values formed are not formalistic but grow from a deep spiritual awareness. The research findings show that a proper understanding of God helps children recognize moral standards rooted in God's character, develop ethical attitudes, and strengthen the internal drive to live according to His will. This research is also expected to contribute to Christian educators in developing theological, contextual, and effective learning strategies to continuously cultivate children's morality in accordance with the principles of the Christian faith.

The development of modern education demands that teachers play a broader role beyond merely delivering subject matter, including building professional reputation, credibility, and positive influence on students, colleagues, parents, and society. For Christian Religious Education teachers, personal branding has a deeper dimension because they also serve as role models and ambassadors of Christian values. This study aims to describe the formation of personal branding among Christian Religious Education teachers based on spiritual and theological values, as well as its impact on teaching and student character development. The method used is descriptive qualitative through a literature study of books, journals, notes, and relevant reports, with narrative analysis to illustrate the practices and values that shape teachers’ personal branding. The findings indicate that the personal branding of Christian Religious Education teachers is an integration of professional competence, personal integrity, and Christian values, encompassing authenticity, consistency, professionalism, spiritual and moral role modeling, inspirational and communicative abilities, adaptation to technology, and positive relationships with students and the community. Spiritual and theological values such as Christian love, integrity, humility, patience, justice, service, and commitment to God’s Word form the main foundation that strengthens teachers’ credibility, motivates students, and establishes them as living examples of Christian life. The 2025 UINSU Community Service Program research in Sempajaya Village was carried out through training in making ecoprint tote bags as an effort to develop creativity while strengthening the economic literacy of elementary school children. This activity utilized natural materials such as leaves and flowers commonly found in the village environment, so that children could learn to recognize the potential of their natural surroundings as a source of creative works with practical and economic value. The training was conducted in three main stages: preparation, implementation, and reflection. During the implementation stage, children were introduced to the concept of ecoprinting, pounding techniques, and the steps involved in making ecoprinted tote bags through lectures, question and answer sessions, and hands-on practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in the participants' creativity, as evident in their ability to arrange motifs, select natural materials, and produce tote bags with attractive patterns. In addition, this activity also fostered a basic understanding of the economic value of creative products, thereby supporting the formation of independence and an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. The reflection stage showed that the children were able to identify the process, benefits, and challenges they faced. Thus, ecoprint tote bags proved to be an effective educational tool in integrating creativity, economic literacy, and love for the environment for the children of Sempajaya Village.

The popularity of the boys love (BL) genre, a key representation of the LGBTQ community, raises concerns about its potential negative impact on social pathology related to LGBTQ behaviors among fans. Despite the stigma labeling BL enthusiasts as exhibiting deviant sexual behavior (homosexuality), early observations and field findings show that most fans are heterosexual and do not exhibit such behavior. Instead, their engagement represents a cumulative effort to support LGBTQ representation. This research uses a qualitative case study approach, conducted on social media X over four months. Key findings suggest that the primary curative efforts by fans to address the social pathology of LGBTQ are self-control and the establishment of self-boundaries. Self-control is demonstrated through cognitive and decision-making control, while self-boundaries are seen in fans' understanding that fictional content should not be translated into heteronormative reality. Strengthening self-control and self-boundaries lays the foundation for further curative actions, preventing fans from becoming fully integrated into the LGBTQ community.

Traditional food is a national asset. It not only serves as a source of energy for the community, but also serves as a form of food security, an economic driver, a source of healthy food, and a culture steeped in noble values. The widespread consumption of unhealthy foods by students, especially elementary school students, is one of the reasons for this outreach activity. The health issues surrounding junk food must be addressed by offering healthy alternatives, such as traditional foods. Traditional food is not only related to food, but can also be linked to ethnomathematics, where culture in the form of food is studied from a mathematical perspective. Elementary school students not only consume traditional foods but also interpret these foods in mathematical contexts, such as geometry and numbers. In this way, students will be able to visualize mathematical elements not only when reading math textbooks but also when consuming traditional foods that are part of their daily environment. Despite their traditional nature, students actually enjoy some traditional foods. This is a frequent conflict between the current generation and traditional culture. They better understand how to prepare traditional foods, appreciate the richness of local culture, and develop a love for their culture and homeland.
