This research aims to develop and evaluate the performance of a steam plant prototype designed as an alternative source of electrical energy to support the Vessel to Grid (V2G) concept. Utilization of backup energy on ships is becoming important as electricity demand increases and demands for a more sustainable electrical system. This system relies on ESP32 microcontroller technology as a control center that functions to monitor and control several key parameters, including steam pressure, combustion temperature, boiler water level, and the generated electrical voltage. The research method used is an experiment with a static and dynamic testing approach. Static testing is carried out to measure the performance of main components such as the boiler, turbine, and generator separately, while dynamic testing focuses on evaluating the overall system by involving the integration of sensors and supporting actuators. The test data is then analyzed quantitatively to determine the system's response to variations in steam pressure, temperature, and other operational conditions. The results show that the steam produced by the boiler is able to rotate the turbine, thereby driving the generator to produce electricity. The maximum voltage achieved is 25.7 volts at a steam pressure of 50 psi. The highest energy conversion efficiency was recorded at 4%, while the lowest efficiency was 0.9%. These findings demonstrate that, despite its relatively low efficiency, the prototype can function as an alternative energy source and emergency backup solution. Thus, this research provides an initial contribution to supporting the implementation of the V2G concept through the development of a small-scale steam plant-based energy conversion system.

This study analyzes Kompas.com’s news coverage of the Papua conflict and human rights issues during the 2024 Presidential Debate to examine media neutrality through Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) integrated with Teun A. Van Dijk’s model. The analysis covers three dimensions: micro (text), meso (discursive practice), and macro (social practice), using a qualitative descriptive method. Data from 21 news excerpts reveal that social and political contexts are clearly represented, focusing on the strategies of the three presidential candidates in addressing human rights and conflict issues in Papua. The findings highlight the importance of realizing the Papua-related commitments made during the debate by the elected president, given the rising trend of violence and the unresolved justice issues in the region. The study demonstrates that media coverage, even by a leading news outlet such as Kompas.com, carries the potential to influence public perception regarding sensitive political and social issues. At the micro level, the language and lexical choices in the news articles often convey subtle ideological positions, including the framing of human rights violations and conflict events, which may reflect both explicit and implicit biases. At the meso level, discursive practices, including editorial decisions, headline constructions, and sourcing patterns, contribute to the shaping of narratives, highlighting certain aspects of the candidates’ statements while minimizing others. Meanwhile, at the macro level, the broader societal and political context, including historical grievances, regional tensions, and national political dynamics, provides the backdrop against which news coverage is produced and consumed, indicating the complex interplay between

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders experienced by office workers. This condition generally arises from repetitive wrist activities, such as prolonged typing or intensive mouse use, which cause pressure on the median nerve. Symptoms of CTS include pain, tingling, weakness, and decreased hand function, which can interfere with work productivity. Various conservative interventions have been developed, one of which is nerve gliding exercises, which mobilize the median nerve to reduce pressure, improve blood flow, and facilitate nerve movement within the carpal canal. This study aims to narratively review the effectiveness of nerve gliding exercises in improving the functional abilities of CTS patients, particularly in office workers. The method used was a systematic literature review of 16 international articles published between 2016 and 2024, using randomized controlled trial (RCT) and quasi-experimental designs. Articles were selected based on inclusion criteria, which included the primary intervention of nerve gliding exercise in CTS patients, measurement of hand function using the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (BCTQ), and parameters of grip strength and range of motion. The analysis showed that nerve gliding exercise consistently resulted in significant improvements in grip strength, wrist range of motion, and reduced disability scores on the BCTQ. Several studies also reported reduced pain complaints and improved quality of life in patients after 4–8 weeks of regular intervention. Furthermore, the combination of nerve gliding exercise with other modalities, such as ultrasound therapy, low-level laser therapy (LLLT), or the use of wrist splints, has been shown to produce more optimal effects than either intervention alone. These findings support the belief that nerve gliding exercise is an effective, simple, inexpensive, and easily applicable therapeutic strategy for CTS patients, particularly high-risk office workers.

This study focuses on the development of an intelligent enemy behavior system in the 2D maze game Dungeon Escape by combining the A* algorithm for pathfinding and a Behavior Tree (BT) structure for decision-making. The main objective is to enhance Non-Playable Character (NPC) intelligence, enabling more adaptive and realistic interactions with players. The A* algorithm is implemented to allow NPCs to pursue players through the shortest and most efficient paths while avoiding obstacles on a grid-based map. Meanwhile, the Behavior Tree framework is designed to manage NPC actions based on dynamic conditions, such as attacking when in close proximity, chasing players within a certain detection radius, and retreating to the original guard position when the player leaves the active zone. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, system design, and implementation using the Unity game engine. Testing procedures consist of both white-box and black-box approaches to evaluate the correctness, functionality, and efficiency of the system. The results indicate that all major game features—including player navigation, combat mechanics, key collection, enemy pathfinding, and user interface interactions—operate smoothly as expected. Furthermore, NPCs exhibit adaptive behavior by dynamically switching between patrolling, chasing, and attacking modes depending on the player’s location and proximity. Performance testing shows that the integrated A* and BT system runs efficiently without significant delays or instability, even in higher-level stages with more complex layouts. The final game prototype includes seven progressively challenging levels, offering players an engaging and dynamic gameplay experience. This study demonstrates that the combination of pathfinding and decision-making algorithms provides an effective solution for designing intelligent NPCs, improving both realism and entertainment value in 2D games. The findings are expected to serve as a useful reference for future research and development in AI-based game design, particularly in the context of Unity game projects.

This study aims to examine the differences and similarities between continental and local Indonesian cuisine, focusing on the case studies of Beef Stroganoff and Rendang. The study covers aspects such as ingredients, cooking techniques, presentation, and the cultural values embedded in these dishes. The research employs a qualitative descriptive case study approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature review. The results indicate that continental cuisine emphasizes the use of high-quality ingredients, often favoring simplicity and freshness, and applies quick cooking techniques such as sautéing or grilling. Presentation is also a key element, with attention to aesthetic appeal and portion control. Beef Stroganoff, for example, is known for its creamy texture and elegant plating. In contrast, local Indonesian cuisine, as exemplified by Rendang, is characterized by its complex spice blends and slow cooking methods, often taking hours to achieve the desired taste and texture. Rendang holds deep social and cultural meanings, commonly served at ceremonial events or traditional gatherings, symbolizing patience, generosity, and respect for tradition. Despite these differences, both types of cuisine share similar functions in society: they both aim to fulfill nutritional needs, express cultural values, and strengthen social bonds. Food, in both contexts, becomes more than just sustenance—it is a form of identity and communication. This study recommends integrating local culinary studies into the culinary education curricula, especially at vocational and higher education levels. By doing so, students not only learn technical skills but also develop an appreciation for the cultural heritage embodied in Indonesian cuisine. This is essential in the era of globalization, where local identities risk being overshadowed by global culinary trends. Preserving and promoting traditional dishes like Rendang is vital for safeguarding Indonesia’s gastronomic identity and fostering pride in national culture.

This study explores the semantic fields of love and loss in Lord Huron’s song "The Night We Met," using a lexical semantics framework. Song lyrics, known for their emotional depth, serve as a rich source for analyzing affective meaning, particularly through word selection and repetition. The primary research question addresses how semantic fields are constructed within minimalist lyrical compositions to convey complex emotional states. In this analysis, a qualitative descriptive method is applied to examine the song's lexical items and group them into thematic semantic fields. The study finds that the song uses a concise set of lexemes connected to themes of memory, temporal disorientation, grief, and love. These thematic fields intertwine, interacting to depict a narrative that encapsulates unresolved emotional pain. Love and loss are not presented in isolation but are embedded in a broader emotional context, where words evoke both the sweetness of past affection and the sorrow of its absence. The overlap of these semantic fields reflects the internal conflict experienced by the narrator, torn between cherished memories and the painful realization of loss. The study concludes that despite the song’s brevity, the lyrics effectively evoke profound emotional responses through a meticulous choice of words and thematic consistency. The semantic fields constructed within the song illustrate how even minimal language can convey intense emotional content, providing valuable linguistic insight into the function of lyricism in popular music. The research demonstrates the ability of short, poignant lyrics to engage listeners emotionally, revealing how lyricists use limited language to encapsulate complex feelings of love and loss.

Urban logistics is a significant source of carbon emissions in Indonesia, and effective decarbonization strategies are required. EVs offer a promising solution, but their impact requires quantitative evaluation within the local context. This study analyzes the effect of adopting an electric van fleet on total well-to-wheel carbon emissions within an urban distribution network in Indonesia. This study employs a comparative case study method. A baseline scenario consisting of 25 diesel vans is compared to an intervention scenario where electric vans replace the entire fleet. The emission analysis was conducted using the WtW framework, utilizing specific emission factors for diesel fuel from the IPCC (2006) and the Java-Madura-Bali (JAMALI) grid emission factor from IESR (2023) to ensure contextual relevance. The transition to an electric fleet successfully reduces the total well-to-wheel carbon footprint by 13.63%. This reduction is equivalent to an absolute CO2 emission decrease of nearly 3 tons of CO₂ per month. Nevertheless, indirect emissions from electricity generation still contribute a significant carbon footprint, indicating that the national energy mix is highly dependent on the environmental benefits of EVs. This study concludes that fleet electrification is a viable and effective decarbonization strategy for Indonesia’s logistics sector, even with the current state of the electricity grid. However, fleet decarbonization efforts must run in parallel with policies for a national transition toward renewable energy to maximize the emission reduction potential of electric mobility. Future research should include the total cost of ownership (TCO) and life cycle assessment (LCA) for a more holistic evaluation.

This study presents a machine learning approach for predicting the dimensions of microstrip antenna slots based on antenna performance parameters such as frequency, gain, directivity, return loss (S11), radiation efficiency, and VSWR. A two-phase methodology was employed. In the first phase, ten regression algorithms were evaluated, and Random Forest was identified as the most effective model based on Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and R-squared (R²) scores. In the second phase, hyperparameter tuning was conducted using Grid Search to further improve the model’s performance. The optimized Random Forest model demonstrated consistent improvements in predictive accuracy, with R² values increasing across all output variables. These results indicate that the combination of regression-based modeling and systematic hyperparameter tuning is effective for capturing complex relationships in antenna design tasks. The proposed approach offers a promising data-driven alternative for geometric prediction in microstrip antenna development, particularly when analytical models are insufficient.

The Child Identity Card (KIA) is an official document issued to children aged 0–17 years as a form of early recognition and protection of legal identity. The issuance of the KIA aims to support orderly population administration, facilitate access to public services, and strengthen child protection in various social, educational, and health aspects. In Bintan Regency, this policy has been implemented since 2017 and was reinforced through Regent Regulation No. 6 of 2022. However, in 2024, the KIA ownership rate only reached 53.48%, the lowest figure in the Riau Islands Province. This figure indicates a serious gap between policy and implementation in the field. In fact, the Bintan Regency Population and Civil Registration Office's Work Plan (Renja) set the KIA ownership target for 2024 at 65%, with the final realization being only 62%. This study aims to examine the factors influencing the low KIA ownership rate. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants consisted of Disdukcapil officials and the community as service recipients. The implementation model used was Merilee S. Grindle's theory, which emphasizes six critical variables in policy success, including resources, communication, and implementer characteristics. The results of the study indicate that despite an increase in demand for KIA due to administrative requirements in education services, BPJS, and social programs, significant obstacles remain. These obstacles include limited outreach, a lack of service infrastructure in coastal and remote areas, and technical constraints such as a suboptimal online system. Therefore, acceleration strategies are needed, such as increasing the intensity of cross-sector outreach, integrating KIA services into integrated health post (Posyandu) and school programs, adding mobile services, and training local human resources.
