For the general public, Indonesia’s five-year electoral cycle is often perceived merely as a procedural voting event, overlooking the substance and quality of how voters select presidential or regional leaders. Following the 2024 General Election, the challenges of democracy have shifted from technical management to the prevention of polarization, money politics, digital disinformation, identity politics, and echo chambers. This article analyzes the urgency of implementing sustainable voter education during the inter-election period, using the General Election Commission (KPU) of Balikpapan City as a case study. The study focuses on KPU Balikpapan’s strategies to transform pragmatic voters, who are susceptible to manipulation, into informed participants, while also addressing the vulnerabilities of first-time voters ahead of the 2029 Election to increase participation rates. The analysis indicates that political education during the non-election period is a critical moment to build the cognitive foundation of voters without compromising their independent choice, making the role of KPU Balikpapan essential in maintaining democratic integrity in the city.

Low parental literacy regarding nutrition, parenting, and lack of utilization of Posyandu services as well as low father participation are among the factors contributing to the continued existence of malnutrition and stunting risks at the Flamboyan 3-4 Ulu Posyandu. This study aims to identify the root causes of low parental literacy, map its impact on the condition of toddlers, and evaluate two alternative policies to improve the quality of parenting education. This study uses a mixed method with a predominance of descriptive qualitative data. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and anthropometric data. Policy analysis was conducted using the six evaluation criteria of William Dunn (1999), namely effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, fairness, responsiveness, and accuracy. The results of the study show that of the 13 children examined in August-September, there were 3 children whose weight and height were not appropriate for their age. The three main factors causing this problem were limited knowledge about nutrition and feeding, low understanding of child growth and development, and minimal use of posyandu services, including the involvement of fathers. The impact of this condition is evident in several toddlers with Z-scores for weight-for-age and height-for-age below the standard. Two policy alternatives were evaluated: the Healthy Family Room Program (RKS) and the 1000 HPK Home-to-Home Counseling Program. The evaluation results show that the RKS Program received the highest score with an average of 3.3, making it more feasible to implement because it is more effective, sufficiently efficient, and more responsive to family needs.

Savings and Loan Cooperatives (KSP) play a vital role in expanding community access to capital, especially within the informal sector. Nevertheless, non-performing loans remain a persistent challenge that can threaten liquidity and long-term institutional sustainability. KSP CU Mera Ndi Ate faces similar issues, which are assumed to stem not only from administrative weaknesses but also from members’ perceptions and behavioral factors. This research aims to examine the potential causes of non-performing loans through text-based sentiment analysis using an unsupervised learning approach. A quantitative method with a data mining framework was applied. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, documentation, and 200 customer opinion texts processed using the Orange Data Mining application. The analytical stages included preprocessing, corpus development, feature extraction, sentiment clustering, and visualization. This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s foreign policy in the G20 Bali Leaders’ Declaration of 2022 by mapping national interests to understand the direction and priorities of Indonesian diplomacy amid complex global geopolitical dynamics. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach and the Rational Choice Theory framework, this research examines how Indonesia, as G20 Presidency, conducted rational calculations between domestic interests and external pressures—particularly regarding the Russia–Ukraine conflict. The findings reveal that Indonesia successfully embedded its national interests into four main dimensions: non-traditional security, strategic economy (energy transition, digitalization, food security), an inclusive global order, and ideological values rooted in the free and active principle. These were effectively integrated into the final declaration. Through an active-inclusive diplomatic strategy including shuttle diplomacy and carefully neutral diplomatic language Indonesia maintained consensus despite deep geopolitical polarization. This demonstrates that Indonesia’s foreign policy during its G20 Presidency was the result of deliberate rational choice, not only addressing global challenges but also reinforcing its role as a credible middle power and bridge-builder. The study contributes theoretically to rationality-based foreign policy analysis and offers practical insights for future Indonesian multilateral diplomacy.

Stunting remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, particularly in Aceh Province. Family smoking behavior and adherence to exclusive breastfeeding are considered important determinants of child nutritional status. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between family smoking behavior and exclusive breastfeeding adherence with stunting among toddlers in Tuha Village, Trienggadeng District, Pidie Jaya Regency. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design with a sample of 46 toddlers selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with logistic regression tests. The results showed that family smoking behavior was significantly associated with stunting (p = 0.002; OR = 0.12; 95% CI: 0.03–0.47). Meanwhile, exclusive breastfeeding adherence was not significantly associated with stunting (p = 0.940; OR = 0.94; 95% CI: 0.17–5.09). These findings indicate that exposure to cigarette smoke in the household is an important risk factor affecting child nutritional status. Strengthening family-based interventions, especially smoke-free home initiatives, is essential to reduce stunting prevalence.

This study examines the Ka’Bawakng dance as a cultural–religious expression of the Dayak Kanayatn community that has undergone a deepening of meaning through inculturation within Catholic liturgy. Originating in the Baliatn ritual, Ka’Bawakng dance initially functioned as a medium of healing and cosmological communication that affirmed the interconnectedness of human beings, nature, and Jubata. In its encounter with the Catholic faith, the dance was incorporated into the Eucharistic celebration as an offertory dance through symbolic reinterpretation grounded in the principles of inculturation articulated by the Second Vatican Council. This research employs a hermeneutical approach using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary study, analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Ka’Bawakng dance is not treated as a merely decorative liturgical element, but is understood as a language of prayer engaging the body, cultural memory, and the spirituality of the faithful. This integration deepens liturgical participation, strengthens the religious–cultural identity of the Dayak Kanayatn community, and creates a constructive space for dialogue between ancestral traditions and Christian faith. Nevertheless, sustaining the inculturation of Ka’Bawakng dance requires ongoing pastoral accompaniment to ensure fidelity to Church liturgical norms while respecting local cultural values.

The coverage of Complete Basic Immunization (Imunisasi Dasar Lengkap or IDL) in Maharani Village remains low at 38.8%, falling short of the national target of 95%. This condition increases the health risk of toddlers contracting Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (PD3I). This study aimed to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and husbands' support regarding the completeness of basic immunization for toddlers in Maharani Village, within the working area of Rumbai Bukit Public Health Center. This research employed a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study comprised all mothers with toddlers in the area, with a sample of 73 respondents selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using validated questionnaires and observation of Maternal and Child Health (KIA) books, followed by univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square statistical test. The results indicated that the majority of toddlers had incomplete immunization status (61.6%), mothers had a low level of knowledge (61.6%), and respondents did not receive support from their husbands (58.9%). Statistical test results confirmed a very significant relationship between mothers' knowledge (p-value = 0.000) and husbands' support (p-value = 0.000) with the completeness of basic immunization. The conclusion confirms that knowledge and husband's support are the main determinant factors. It is suggested that Rumbai Bukit Public Health Center implement a more inclusive health promotion strategy by involving the active role of husbands in monitoring child health.
