Compromise Journal : Community Proffesional Service Journal 2025 LPPM STIKES KESETIAKAWANAN SOSIAL INDONESIA

Every individual hopes for a better life, but not everyone has the same opportunity to achieve it. Various life challenges, such as economic limitations, lack of access to education, health, and social support, often become barriers for some people. This condition creates social inequality that makes many individuals lose their enthusiasm and motivation in living life. Early childhood dental health is a crucial issue that requires serious attention, considering the high prevalence of dental caries which is influenced by various factors, including inadequate tooth brushing habits and excessive consumption of sweet foods. This Community Service aims to analyze the level of knowledge about dental health, tooth brushing practices in children, and patterns of sweet food consumption on the incidence of dental caries at the Yauma Pilangsari Orphanage and Dhuafa Cirebon. The Community Service method used was an observational analytic with a cross-sectional design, involving 24 early childhood participants. The results of the Community Service revealed that 62.5% of children experienced dental caries, an alarming figure. Of these, 53.1% of children exhibited improper brushing habits, while 54.7% frequently consumed sweet foods. It is important to remember that children's dental health is a shared responsibility between parents, educators, and the community. With a good understanding of the importance of maintaining dental health from an early age, as well as support from various parties, it is hoped that children can grow up with healthy and strong teeth, which will ultimately improve their overall quality of life.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The high risk of dengue transmission is greatly influenced by the density of mosquito larvae which correlates with environmental conditions and community behavior. This study aims to describe the density level of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the working area of the Gandus Health Center in Palembang City in 2025 through the measurement of House Index (HI), Container Index (CI), Breteau Index (BI), Larvae-Free Numbers (ABJ), and Density Figure (DF). The method used was descriptive observational with a purposive proportional random sampling technique on 100 households in three RTs. Data was collected through direct observation using checklist sheets. The results showed that the HI was 66%, CI was 44%, BI was 107%, and ABJ was only 34%, which indicates that the larval density is very high and far below the WHO standard (≥ 95%). The DF value is in the range of 7–9, reinforcing the finding of high vector density. This condition shows that the area is at high risk of dengue transmission. Interventions are needed in the form of regular mosquito nest eradication (PSN), increasing public education, and strengthening the role of jumantic cadres in sustainable vector control.

HIV/AIDS is a global health issue that significantly impacts adolescents, a vulnerable group prone to risky behaviors such as unprotected sexual intercourse. The lack of knowledge is a key factor contributing to the increased risk of transmission. Therefore, effective health education interventions are essential to address this problem, with one promising approach being health promotion through audiovisual media. This study aims to assess the impact of audiovisual media on improving HIV/AIDS knowledge among 11th-grade students at SMA PGRI 2 Banjarmasin. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The entire population of 112 students was selected using a total sampling technique. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that was tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, as the data were not normally distributed. Prior to the intervention, most students (85.7%) had low levels of knowledge about HIV/AIDS. Following the intervention, all students (100%) demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge, reaching a high level. The legislative body is an institution or council that has the duty and authority to make laws and constitutions in a country. In the general explanation of Law Number 23 of 2014, it is stated that the Regional People's Representative Council, hereinafter abbreviated as DPRD, is a Regional People's Representative Institution which serves as an organizing element of the Regional Government. This research using a qualitative descriptive analysis method, namely by explaining or describing the data obtained by providing logical and correct interpretations in accordance with existing facts and or legal rules that are closely related to this research. So this research is a research that is sourced from primary and secondary data using an empirical juridical approach. Based on the research results, the use of the initiative right of Sikka DPRD members in making local regulations in 2018-2021 is still less than optimal. This can be seen based on data on the number of draft local regulations passed in 2018-2021. The number of local regulations produced by Sikka Regency is 34 (thirty-four) local regulations, including 4 (four) local regulations initiated by the DPRD and 30 local regulations initiated by the Regional Government. DPRD tends to be considered passive in contrast to the Local Government which is more pro-active because the proposal of local regulations (Perda) is more dominated by the regional legislative body than the executive body. The obstacles in the implementation of the legislative function of the DPRD of Sikka Regency are caused by internal factors such as level of education and experience, as well as external factors such as lack of political communication between the DPRD and the Local Government. Based on the results of the study, the author's suggestion is that the proposed local regulations be examined and scrutinized in depth to ensure their legal content and impact on society. The DPRD of Sikka Regency needs to improve the capacity of human resources through training and technical guidance related to the formation of initiative local regulations by involving academics and experts.

Akuntansi dan Ekonomi Pajak: Perspektif Global 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study was conducted to explore in depth how ethical pressure, ethical orientation, and religiosity influence earnings management practices, while also examining whether religiosity plays a role as a moderating variable in this relationship. Using a quantitative, survey-based approach, this study involved 109 respondents with professional backgrounds and experience in accounting and finance, thus deemed relevant in understanding the phenomenon of earnings management from a practitioner's perspective. The data analysis technique used was Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which is considered appropriate for examining relationships between latent variables with high complexity. The results show that ethical pressure has a positive and significant influence on earnings management practices, meaning that the greater the ethical pressure a person feels, the higher the tendency to engage in such practices. Conversely, ethical orientation shows a negative and significant influence, so that individuals with a strong ethical orientation tend to reject this manipulative practice. Religiosity is also shown to have a significant negative influence, so that the higher a person's level of religiosity, the lower their tendency to engage in earnings management. Furthermore, moderation analysis found that religiosity strengthens the influence of ethical orientation in suppressing earnings management practices, meaning that individuals who are both religious and have a high ethical orientation are more consistent in maintaining their integrity. However, the role of religiosity was not proven to be significant in moderating the relationship between ethical pressure and earnings management practices, indicating that although religiosity can shape ethical attitudes, it is not sufficient to mitigate the impact of strong external pressures. These findings imply the importance of strengthening ethical values and religiosity in accounting education and practice to prevent opportunistic behavior that is detrimental to related parties.

This research is motivated by the lack of interesting learning media that can motivate and facilitate students in understanding fashion design material. The purpose of this research is to develop Pop-Up Book Fashion media as an innovative and interactive learning tool and to determine the feasibility of Pop-Up Book Fashion media on the material of custom skirts. The research method used is development research with a 4D model with stages consisting of 4 main stages, namely: (1) Define (Definition) (2) Design (Planning); (3) Develop (Development); (4) Disseminate (Dissemination). Assessment of product feasibility results is carried out by validation to 1 validator, namely a media expert. There is 1 more validator, namely the validator of the student response questionnaire instrument. Based on the value of the validator regarding the results of the product feasibility, the average score from the media expert is 91% (very feasible). Trials on 18 class X students of SMK Negeri 6 Surabaya showed an interest level of 91.11% (very interesting). So it can be concluded that the Pop up book Fashion media is proven to be effective and interesting to use as a learning medium. This media is recommended as an innovative alternative to improve student learning outcomes, particularly in fashion design. In addition to enhancing students' understanding of fashion design materials, the use of Pop-Up Book Fashion media also provides a stronger visual and kinesthetic learning experience. Through direct interaction with media that can be touched and moved, students can imagine the final form of clothing more realistically, especially for the custom skirt material that requires visualization of models and construction. This media not only helps with cognitive aspects but also facilitates students' emotional engagement in the learning process. This is in line with the thematic learning approach that emphasizes the importance of multisensory engagement in increasing retention and learning interest.

The problem of plastic waste in Gandan Hamlet, Pogalan Village, is becoming an increasingly urgent environmental issue that requires sustainable management. Unmanaged waste can pollute the soil, air, and water, and threaten public health. In response to this situation, Tidar University Community Service (KKN) students implemented an innovative community-based waste management program. The main focus of this program is to utilize plastic waste into products with utility and sales value, namely plastic-filled pillows and Eco-Paving Blocks. This activity was carried out through a participatory approach by actively involving the community at every stage, from outreach and education to technical training on the collection, sorting, and processing of plastic waste. The education provided concerns the dangers of plastic waste to the environment and the importance of recycling as an alternative solution. Making pillows from plastic filling was chosen because the process is simple, inexpensive, and can be done by housewives. Meanwhile, Eco-Paving Blocks are the result of utilizing mixed plastic waste as an environmentally friendly and durable building material. This program has succeeded in reducing the volume of plastic waste in the surrounding environment, while raising public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Furthermore, this activity opens up new economic opportunities for the community by creating creative products from waste. Evaluation results show that the community-based waste management model is effective in fostering community independence in waste processing, creating a cleaner environment, and encouraging a culture of sustainable living at the village level. The success of this program is expected to serve as an example for replication in other areas with similar challenges. Continued support from the village government and cross-sector collaboration are key to this initiative's continued growth and long-term impact.

This study aims to analyse the impact of e-report card implementation within the framework of digital transformation in educational services on parental satisfaction and involvement at the elementary school level. Employing a narrative literature review, the research synthesised 47 articles published between 2019 and 2025, retrieved from international and national academic databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, CORE, the Garuda Portal, and institutional repositories. Thematic analysis generated five core findings. First, e-report cards are identified as a determinant of parental satisfaction, showing a strong positive correlation with improved parental trust and transparency in assessment processes. Second, digital transformation functions as a catalyst that enhances parental engagement, with evidence of up to a threefold increase in participation. Third, the quality of systems and clarity of information play mediating roles, ensuring that digital tools contribute effectively to parental outcomes. Fourth, challenges related to the digital divide and levels of digital literacy moderate the effectiveness of implementation, often influencing disparities in outcomes across different socioeconomic contexts. Finally, the process of adaptation follows a gradual four-stage evolutionary model, highlighting how parents integrate digital platforms over time. Overall, the study confirms a significant positive relationship between e-report card implementation and parental satisfaction and involvement, while also recognising the influence of contextual factors such as infrastructure readiness and socioeconomic diversity. The findings contribute theoretically through the development of the Digital Parental Engagement Model and offer practical insights for formulating educational digitalisation policies that are responsive to district-level stakeholder needs.

A parenting seminar on maternal and child mental health organized by KPM UI Bunga Bangsa Cirebon students in Pegagan Village is a form of community service aimed at raising awareness and understanding of the importance of mental health in parenting. The limited knowledge of mental health issues in rural communities, coupled with high levels of stress experienced by parents, often negatively impacts parenting practices. This has the potential to hinder optimal child development, both physically, psychologically, and socially. Therefore, this activity was designed with a participatory approach, where the community is not merely an object but is also involved from the beginning of the planning process. This process includes coordination with village officials, seminars, and monitoring and evaluation stages, so that the community feels ownership and plays an active role in the program. The seminar featured speakers from psychology and legal academics who explained the relationship between parental mental health and fulfilling legal obligations to protect children's rights. The material presented emphasized how parental stress and emotions can affect child development, as well as the importance of parents' ability to manage the pressures of everyday life. Participants gained an understanding of strategies for maintaining mental health, including good time management, building open communication within the family environment, and strengthening social support as an emotional support system. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' awareness of the importance of mental health not only as an individual need, but also as a moral, social, and legal responsibility in creating a healthy, safe, and resilient family environment. Therefore, this parenting seminar can be seen as an effective educational strategy, not only strengthening parents' capacity to raise children but also building sustainable local support networks for the well-being of families and communities.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Nutritious Meal Program as a public service policy in enhancing the academic achievement of elementary school students in Wonopringgo District. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation across 19 educational institutions participating in the program. Findings reveal that the program has a significant positive impact on students’ nutritional status, learning motivation, and overall academic performance. Improvements were observed in student concentration, attendance, and classroom participation, indicating a direct link between adequate nutrition and cognitive development. Despite these positive outcomes, several challenges were identified. Issues such as delayed meal distribution, inconsistency in the quality and variety of menus, and limited coordination among stakeholders hinder the program’s optimal implementation. Furthermore, the engagement of parents and community members, while beneficial, was found to be uneven across schools, highlighting the need for stronger collaboration mechanisms. The study identifies three key factors that determine the success of the program: the quality of services provided, the managerial capacity of schools to coordinate and monitor implementation, and active participation from both parents and school committees. To address existing barriers, the research recommends enhancing cross-sectoral collaboration among government agencies, improving managerial competence at the school level, and establishing participatory evaluation systems. These measures would ensure program sustainability, responsiveness to local needs, and greater accountability. Overall, the Nutritious Meal Program demonstrates the potential of inclusive and collaborative public service policies in fostering both student well-being and academic achievement. It reflects a practical example of how government-community partnerships can contribute to creating a healthy, equitable, and sustainable educational ecosystem.
