This research employs a qualitative approach to investigate how corporate brand image shapes the quality of maritime services, using a comprehensive stakeholder perspective within the Indonesian shipping industry. The study adopts PT. Multi Jaya Samudra’s TB. Maiden Central operations as its focal case, gathering insights from maritime professionals, academic experts, and industry practitioners to better understand the interconnection between brand perception and service delivery. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 65 participants, followed by a thematic analysis to identify emerging patterns. The results highlight that corporate brand image plays a substantial role in influencing how service quality is perceived, with a positive correlation of 79.8% found between brand strength and customer satisfaction. Key themes emerging from the analysis include the enhancement of professional trust, the incorporation of educational elements into industry practices, and the promotion of operational excellence. A robust and reputable brand is shown to provide shipping companies with a distinct competitive edge, while also aligning with broader objectives such as sustainable maritime growth and the adoption of digital innovation. Beyond practical business value, the research enriches the field of maritime business management by presenting a stakeholder-driven framework for brand development, offering opportunities for the integration of industry-relevant curricula in maritime vocational education, and promoting sustainable transportation practices. These findings yield actionable implications for Indonesian shipping enterprises that aim to strengthen brand positioning, improve service performance, and remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic and environmentally conscious maritime sector.

This article explores the spirituality of the bate symbol within the context of the blessing of Catholic church buildings in Tana Toraja as a concrete form of inculturation of the Christian faith into local culture. Originally, bate functioned as a religious symbol in traditional Toraja ceremonies for inaugurating tongkonan (ancestral houses). Over time, however, this symbol has been adopted and reinterpreted in Catholic liturgical celebrations, particularly during church blessing rituals. The study employs a qualitative method using a literature review and applies Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutical framework, which consists of three stages: the world of the interpreter, the world of the text, and appropriation. The analysis reveals that bate can be understood as a cultural text rich in spiritual meaning. Traditionally, it symbolizes a connection between heaven and earth as well as cosmic power. Within the perspective of Christian inculturation, bate undergoes symbolic reinterpretation, representing values of faith such as the Trinity, the cross, the Eucharist, the Holy Scripture, and Jesus Christ as the mediator of salvation. The incorporation of bate in Catholic liturgy is not merely a cultural adaptation but a tangible manifestation of the encounter between faith and culture, achieved in a contextual and symbolic manner within Torajan society. This study affirms the significance of inculturation in proclaiming the Gospel in a way that is relevant and grounded, without compromising the core essence of Catholic faith. Furthermore, it recommends further research on other local symbols to enrich the dialogue between faith and culture in pastoral contexts.

This research investigates the integration of renewable energy systems within coastal conservation areas through public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks to achieve dual objectives of environmental sustainability and economic development. The study addresses the critical challenge of balancing energy infrastructure development with ecological preservation in sensitive coastal ecosystems, where biodiversity and community livelihoods are often at risk due to increasing industrial and urban pressures. A mixed-methods approach is employed, combining case study analysis, stakeholder interviews, and economic modeling, to generate a comprehensive perspective on the opportunities and constraints of renewable energy deployment in these regions. Case studies highlight successful international practices of PPPs that have facilitated renewable energy projects while safeguarding marine and coastal ecosystems. Stakeholder interviews with government agencies, local communities, and private sector representatives reveal the importance of transparent governance, shared responsibility, and inclusive participation in ensuring long-term project sustainability. Economic modeling further demonstrates that well-structured PPP models can reduce implementation costs by 30–40% while adhering to biodiversity conservation standards and regulatory frameworks. Findings underscore that renewable energy projects, when embedded within collaborative governance structures, not only contribute to reducing carbon emissions but also create employment opportunities, stimulate local economies, and enhance community resilience. This study contributes to the sustainable development literature by providing an actionable framework for integrating renewable energy infrastructure in environmentally sensitive areas through PPPs. The proposed framework emphasizes adaptive policy design, capacity building, and equitable benefit-sharing, offering practical insights for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers seeking to reconcile energy needs with ecological protection in coastal regions.

This research is a development study that aims to create a product in the form of a learning aid, namely audio-visual media through the GeoGebra Classic application, which is used for 3-dimensional geometric shapes lessons in grade V of YPNU Elementary School Medan. This research was conducted because teachers still do not utilize technology optimally in teaching, especially in mathematics subjects related to spatial shapes. The lack of engaging and interactive teaching methods for complex topics like 3D geometric shapes often leads to reduced student interest and understanding. To improve the mathematics learning process on the topic of spatial shapes, audio-visual media was created with the help of the GeoGebra Classic 5 application. The goal is to provide variations in mathematics learning media and increase student interest in the lesson. The development of this media allows students to visualize 3D geometric shapes more clearly and interactively. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire that included questions to assess the effectiveness of the media from the perspective of educators and students. The results of the evaluation revealed that learning using this media received 93% responses from teachers and 87% from students, which indicates that the media is very effective. The positive feedback from both groups suggests that this audio-visual tool can enhance students' understanding of spatial geometry concepts and improve the overall learning experience. This study offers an innovative approach to teaching mathematics and highlights the importance of integrating technology into the classroom to foster better engagement and learning outcomes.

This research explores the symbolic consumption patterns of Generation Z in engaging with local products during the digital hyperreality era, emphasizing the roles of ethical consumption, hyperreality values, and digital identity in shaping purchase intentions. Using a quantitative design through PLS-SEM complemented by qualitative evidence, the study shows that both ethical consumption and hyperreality significantly shape digital identity (β = 0.42; β = 0.53, p < 0.001). Digital identity strongly drives purchase intention (β = 0.65, p < 0.001), while ethical consumption does not directly affect it. Mediation analysis demonstrates that digital identity fully mediates the relationship between ethical consumption and purchase intention, and partially mediates the impact of hyperreality. Qualitative findings highlight that Gen Z’s buying decisions are influenced by symbols and imagery showcased on social media, where ethical aspects only become relevant when they align with digital aesthetics. These results strengthen the postmodernist perspective that consumption in the digital era is primarily about signs, images, and symbols that go beyond mere utility. The study suggests that MSMEs should strategically embed symbolic narratives, ethical dimensions, and visual aesthetics into digital marketing to appeal to Gen Z while promoting sustainability.

This study examines two main issues related to palm oil trading transactions in Kuala Keritang Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The first issue concerns the analysis of pricing mechanisms in palm oil trading, while the second focuses on the review of Islamic business ethics in such transactions. The objective of this research is to understand in detail how the price determination system operates in the local palm oil market and to assess the extent to which these trading practices align with the principles of Islamic business ethics. To address these issues, a qualitative descriptive method was employed. This approach was chosen because it allows for a comprehensive description of facts, data, and trading mechanisms while providing space for critical analysis in relation to Islamic values. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then described, analyzed, and discussed in order to answer the research questions thoroughly. The findings indicate that, in general, palm oil trading practices in Kuala Keritang Village are similar to other common trading systems, but they differ in terms of price-setting mechanisms. In practice, the price of palm oil is largely determined by buyers based on market conditions, which often creates injustice for farmers as sellers. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, this practice does not fully comply with the principles of fairness, honesty, and mutual benefit, which are essential foundations of Islamic economic transactions. The study concludes that violations of Islamic business ethics principles, particularly regarding fairness in pricing, still occur in palm oil trading within the village. Therefore, improvements are needed in the transaction system so that palm oil trading in Kuala Keritang can be carried out in accordance with sharia principles, ensuring justice and mutual benefit for both sellers and buyers.

This article explores the issue of homosexuality from a Christian theological perspective by examining biblical teachings, traditions of the church, and contemporary theological discourse. Homosexuality has long been a controversial topic in Christianity because it is often associated with moral and doctrinal debates. This study aims to analyze how Christian theology interprets homosexual orientation and behavior, as well as how the church responds pastorally to individuals who identify as homosexual. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach, this study reviews interpretations of biblical passages such as Genesis 19:1–29, Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26–27, and 1 Corinthians 6:9–10, which are frequently cited in discussions about homosexuality. The findings reveal that there are at least three dominant perspectives within Christianity: the conservative view, which rejects homosexual practice as sin; the moderate view, which distinguishes between homosexual orientation and action; and the liberal or progressive view, which accepts homosexuality as part of human diversity. The article concludes that the Christian view of homosexuality cannot be generalized and is influenced by historical, cultural, and denominational contexts. Therefore, a compassionate and dialogical pastoral approach is needed to uphold truth while welcoming all individuals with dignity.

This study aims to examine the perspective of the millennial generation on marriage in Dolat Rayat Village, Dolat Rayat District, Karo Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, involving six informants consisting of millennials who have experienced divorce. The results of the study indicate that the millennial generation views marriage as a union of two individuals with the aim of obtaining affection, attention, and support and forming a harmonious family. However, there are several factors that cause conflict in marriage, including lack of effective communication, interference from third parties such as in-laws or other relatives, and economic problems. In addition, roles and responsibilities in the household are often still one-sided. The greatest source of happiness in marriage is centered on the mutually supportive relationship of the couple, and the presence of children is also considered important. Although some informants acknowledge the benefits of premarital counseling, its implementation is still limited and is not always applied in overcoming problems such as egoism and family interference. The conclusion of this study shows that there are differences in perspective according to the millennial generation on marriage with marriage based on the Bible, where the glory of God should be the main goal of marriage, not happiness. This study suggests improving communication, limiting third-party interference, clear division of responsibilities, premarital counseling, and focusing on economic independence as an effort to strengthen marriages among the millennial generation.

Agreements are an important instrument in everyday life, both in the social and economic spheres. In practice, agreements are not always made in written form, but are often made orally. This phenomenon raises legal questions about whether oral agreements have valid legal force and can be used as a basis for dispute resolution. This study aims to analyze the legal status of oral agreements from the perspective of Indonesian civil law by referring to Article 1320 of the Civil Code (KUHPerdata), which regulates the requirements for a valid agreement. The research method used is normative juridical with an approach to relevant laws and legal doctrines. The results of the study indicate that oral agreements remain legally valid as long as they meet the four requirements for a valid agreement: agreement of the parties, capacity to enter into an agreement, the existence of a specific object, and a lawful cause. However, the main problem arising from oral agreements is the difficulty in proving them when disputes arise, given the lack of written evidence that can be used as a basis before the law. Therefore, although civil law does not require a written form for the validity of an agreement, writing an agreement is still recommended to provide legal certainty, facilitate proof, and protect the interests of the parties. This finding underscores the importance of public legal awareness in choosing a form of agreement that is safer and has stronger evidentiary force.

The phenomenon of the fake smile has become increasingly visible in the digital era, especially through social media platforms. Such expressions are often used to mask genuine emotions such as sadness, psychological pressure, or fatigue. This study examines how the Prophetic traditions (ḥadīth) address this phenomenon in relation to sincerity, ethical conduct, and emotional balance. Three research questions are posed: (1) whether ḥadīth encourage sincerity in smiling as an act of worship, (2) how fake smiles are situated within Islamic ethical perspectives, and (3) to what extent ḥadīth provide guidance for this issue in contemporary contexts. The study applies a qualitative method, employing library research and thematic analysis of ḥadīth (mawḍūʿī). Primary data are drawn from authoritative ḥadīth collections, while secondary sources include tafsīr, classical and modern commentaries, as well as psychological literature. The findings reveal that smiling is framed as a charitable act requiring sincerity. A fake smile intended to preserve harmony may still be valued positively, but one used for manipulation or to conceal hostility conflicts with the principle of truthfulness (ṣidq) and approaches hypocrisy (nifāq). The Prophet’s balanced expressions affirm the need for sincerity in social interaction.

Well water is still one of the main sources of daily water supply for the residents of the Candi Muaro Jambi area. The dependence on well water makes it vital for consumption, cooking, and other domestic activities. However, with the increasing human activity, the development of tourist areas, and environmental changes in the surrounding area, the quality of the well water is at risk of being affected. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of well water from an environmental and health perspective based on physical, chemical, and biological parameters, referring to the clean water quality standards set by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method, with well water samples taken from several points around the residential areas in the Candi Muaro Jambi region. The analyzed parameters include temperature, color, odor, turbidity, pH, nitrate content, metal content (Fe and Mn), and the presence of coliform bacteria. Laboratory test results show that most of the well water samples still meet the established physical and chemical standards, but some wells were found to have coliform levels exceeding the recommended threshold. This condition indicates contamination, most likely from domestic waste, particularly from household sanitation systems that are not ideally located relative to the wells. While the well water in the study area is generally still suitable for daily use, it is recommended that the community performs simple water treatment, such as boiling or filtration, before direct consumption. These measures are crucial to reduce contamination risks and ensure the water's quality for safe consumption and health.

This study was conducted to explore in depth how ethical pressure, ethical orientation, and religiosity influence earnings management practices, while also examining whether religiosity plays a role as a moderating variable in this relationship. Using a quantitative, survey-based approach, this study involved 109 respondents with professional backgrounds and experience in accounting and finance, thus deemed relevant in understanding the phenomenon of earnings management from a practitioner's perspective. The data analysis technique used was Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which is considered appropriate for examining relationships between latent variables with high complexity. The results show that ethical pressure has a positive and significant influence on earnings management practices, meaning that the greater the ethical pressure a person feels, the higher the tendency to engage in such practices. Conversely, ethical orientation shows a negative and significant influence, so that individuals with a strong ethical orientation tend to reject this manipulative practice. Religiosity is also shown to have a significant negative influence, so that the higher a person's level of religiosity, the lower their tendency to engage in earnings management. Furthermore, moderation analysis found that religiosity strengthens the influence of ethical orientation in suppressing earnings management practices, meaning that individuals who are both religious and have a high ethical orientation are more consistent in maintaining their integrity. However, the role of religiosity was not proven to be significant in moderating the relationship between ethical pressure and earnings management practices, indicating that although religiosity can shape ethical attitudes, it is not sufficient to mitigate the impact of strong external pressures. These findings imply the importance of strengthening ethical values and religiosity in accounting education and practice to prevent opportunistic behavior that is detrimental to related parties.

This study investigates the genealogy of multisectoral social conflict and cultural disintegration in Bima Regency by examining the interplay of political, economic, socio-cultural, and geospatial determinants. Using a qualitative exploratory-critical method, the research employs content analysis, critical discourse analysis, and spatial conflict mapping based on secondary data from government reports, academic literature, and civil society documentation. The results reveal that social conflict in Bima is not simply driven by unequal access to political and economic resources, but also by structural exclusion, historical marginalization, and the erosion of traditional social values caused by uneven modernization and weak institutional performance. Politically, civil servant bias, the persistence of patronage networks, and minimal civic engagement weaken state legitimacy, public trust, and accountability. Economically, the unequal distribution of natural resources, selective access to government assistance, limited economic diversification, and unresolved agrarian disputes intensify socio-economic inequalities and rural discontent. From a geospatial perspective, the contestation over land, identity, ecological zones, and environmental resources reflects the failure of inclusive and participatory spatial development planning. The study emphasizes that the conflict is systemic, complex, and institutionalized, calling for integrated cross-sectoral policies, inclusive political reforms, and spatially participatory strategies. It advocates for institutional reform, the revitalization of local wisdom and social capital, and the reconstruction of a shared cultural identity to restore long-term social cohesion and resilience. In the context of post-decentralization Indonesia, addressing such deep-rooted, chronic conflicts requires not only strategic policy reorientation but also the empowerment of local communities to play meaningful and active roles in planning, governance, and sustainable development processes. Sustainable peace in Bima hinges on a genuine commitment to social justice, inclusive governance, ecological balance, and the preservation of cultural diversity.
