Waste management, particularly organic waste, remains a significant environmental challenge in Indonesia, with household and school waste being major contributors. This community service initiative, conducted by the Dharma Sevavigyana Community of Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Semarang, aimed to enhance ecological awareness among high school students through the production of eco-enzyme liquid soap. The program, held at SMA Negeri 16 Semarang, combined conceptual education with practical training to teach students how to transform organic waste into eco-enzyme, a valuable and environmentally friendly product. The activities included presentations on waste management issues, hands- on soap-making workshops, and interactive evaluations using digital platforms like Kahoot. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding and enthusiasm for eco-enzyme applications, as well as improved teamwork and communication skills. The initiative successfully demonstrated the potential of experiential learning in fostering environmental stewardship among students, encouraging them to become active participants in sustainable waste management practices. This program highlights the importance of integrating environmental education into school curricula and serves as a model for similar initiatives across Indonesia.

Fire incidents in Indonesia remain relatively high, with a total of 2,286 cases recorded. In 2022, the frequency of fires in Jakarta reached 1,691 cases, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year, which had successfully reduced fire frequency by 23%. The high fire risk in high-rise buildings can lead to both material losses and casualties. This study aims to design the layout and determine the requirements for portable fire extinguishers  in a hospital project in Jakarta. The design of the fire extinguisher layout and requirements is intended for the operational phase of the building, ensuring optimal applicability. The location, area, and/or environment with various work activities and risk levels ranging from low to high indicate that safety is of paramount importance and must be prioritized, and that any form of accident should be addressed as early as possible. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method to describe and illustrate existing phenomena, both natural and human-engineered, through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the design of the fire extinguisher layout and requirements amounted to 61 units across the 4th to 7th floors, with the fire extinguisher layout plan attached. The type of fire extinguisher used on each floor is a 6-kg dry powder extinguisher. The conducted fire risk assessment indicates that each floor presents a moderate hazard, while some rooms exhibit a high hazard level. This study provides recommendations for the placement and requirements of fire extinguisher in accordance with standards and is expected to contribute to fire prevention efforts in the hospital project in Jakarta once it becomes operational.

This study aims to determine the influence of Work Motivation, Work Environment, and Job Satisfaction on Employee Productivity at PT. Nihon Seiki Indonesia. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining employee productivity as shown by the non-achievement of work targets in recent months. This problem indicates the possibility of a decline in internal quality that needs to be evaluated, such as low motivation, less supportive work environment conditions, and less than optimal job satisfaction. This decline can also have an impact on the company's overall performance, including in terms of efficiency, production quality, and customer satisfaction that are declining over time. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive and verifiable approach. The data collection technique was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to 90 employees as a sample of the total population of 115 employees working in the company. The research instrument was tested through validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, t-test (partial), F test (simultaneous), and determination coefficient (R²) test, with the help of SPSS software version 26. The results of the study show that Work Motivation, Work Environment, and Job Satisfaction have a significant effect on Employee Productivity, both partially and simultaneously. These findings confirm that the increase in employee work productivity is not only dependent on external factors such as technology and management systems, but is also highly determined by internal factors that are directly related to individual comfort and satisfaction at work. Therefore, company management needs to focus more on efforts to create a conducive work environment, build strong motivation, and increase employee job satisfaction as a strategy to optimize productivity. In addition, continuous training and effective communication between teams also need to be improved to maintain morale, collaboration, and the achievement of overall organizational targets.

Irritant contact dermatitis is a skin disease that often occurs in rubber company workers due to contact with irritant materials. Irritant materials in the work environment can damage the skin, cause inflammation, and cause irritation. If not treated immediately, this condition can interfere with comfort and reduce work efficiency. This study aims to determine the factors associated with complaints of irritant contact dermatitis in production and laboratory workers at PT. X. This study uses a quantitative approach with an observational cross-sectional design. The study population was 64 workers, with 38 people as samples taken using a purposive sampling technique. The variables studied included the dependent variable (complaints of irritant contact dermatitis) and independent variables (length of service, exposure to chemicals, duration of exposure, personal hygiene, and use of PPE). Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square statistical test with a 95% confidence interval. The results showed that complaints of irritant contact dermatitis with moderate and severe categories were 44.7%, and the mild category was 55.3%. The revitalization of urban heritage areas in Indonesia, exemplified by Panggung Street in Surabaya, faces multifaceted challenges encompassing the preservation of historical character, socio-economic enhancement, and the creation of inclusive public spaces. Current revitalization efforts often misalign with the area’s authentic features such as inappropriate facade treatments while neglecting accessibility for vulnerable groups and failing to foster effective collaboration among stakeholders. This study employs a descriptive qualitative case study approach, synthesizing field observations, in-depth interviews with local actors, comprehensive literature reviews, and precedent analyses of Braga Street in Bandung and heritage zones in Malacca. Data were analyzed using SWOT and root cause analysis to identify systemic barriers and leverage opportunities, while comparative-historical interpretation contextualized Surabaya’s urban identity. Triangulation ensured methodological rigor and validity. The research culminates in a holistic revitalization framework emphasizing three key strategies: restoration of authentic architectural features, including original colors and ornamentation, enhancement of inclusive infrastructure, such as accessible pedestrian pathways and universal signage and active community participation through workshops and cultural initiatives like the Kya-Kya night market. This integrated approach not only preserves the area’s historical integrity but also fosters social cohesion, economic vitality, and collective pride. The study demonstrates that combining heritage conservation with inclusive design principles can transform urban spaces into dynamic, accessible, and sustainable environments. The findings offer valuable insights for other Southeast Asian cities facing similar heritage revitalization challenges.

In geotechnical engineering, building robust structures is crucial to ensure the bearing capacity of structures against external forces, so making sure soil strength and unreliable build cost and duration prediction are also very important and preliminary aspects of any construction project. Therefore, in this first-of-its-kind modern examine, the capability of various artificially intelligent (AI)-based models toward reliable forecasting and estimation of preliminary construction expenses, duration, and strength at shear is explored. First, background information about the revolutionary artificial intelligence (AI) technique along with its many distinct models ideal for geotechnical and building engineering problems is presented, The use of AI-based models in the literature for the aforementioned construction and maintenance applications is discussed in a number of current works, together with their benefits, drawbacks, and future directions. Several important input elements that significantly affect the preliminary price of construction, construction time, and soil's shear strength estimation are listed and given through analysis. Finally, some obstacles to employing AI-based models for precise forecasts in these applications are discussed, along with elements influencing the problems with cost overruns. Thus, this work can help civil engineers make effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) to solve difficult and risky tasks. It can also be used to Internet of Things (IoT) environments for self-learning applications like smart architectural health-monitoring systems
