This research intends to find out the struggle of Afro-American women against discrimination in Alice Walker’s The Color Purple. This research is qualitative, which means that the data are in the form of words; thus, the data came from the novel and other books that are relevant to this research. A mimetic approach is used in data analysis to unearth the literary work as an imitation or reflection of aspects of human life, such as sociological, historical, or psychological background that is related to the topic. The result shows that the Afro-American women that are pictured in Celie’s life should struggle against both white and black discrimination. The whites did not accept the existence of the blacks and treated them cruelly through violence, rape, and murder. On the other side, the black man oppressed the Afro-American woman through sex abuse, physical abuse, and economic depression. The black women were living under the protection of men. However, their protection is no better than dominance and subservience. Even though Celie was treated abruptly and disrespectfully by her father and her husband, she could face it bravely, increasing her knowledge and insights, achieving financial success, and being happy in her life. Therefore, she achieves self-esteem, self-acceptance, economic independence, and, above all, freedom for the whole of her life. This is the realization of African American women's desire to gain recognition as individuals who deserve fair and equal treatment.

The main problem in this paper is the unsatisfactory student learning outcomes caused by several factors, namely factors from within the students themselves, namely student interest, attention, talent and student IQ and factors from outside the student's self, namely environmental factors. This is evidenced by the lack of students' understanding of historical material about Islam in the modern era (1800-present). In addition, learning activities often only store event names, chronologies, years, and character names. Therefore it is hoped that the use of audio-visual learning media can arouse students' interest and not be boring. The purpose of this research is to find out how the learning outcomes are using audio-visual media in learning Islamic Religious Education Class XI SMKN 2 Bukittinggi. The Wakhan Corridor is surrounded by the concerned region of Mekandar. The access strip is located at the intersection of four countries, the mainland of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, China and  Pakistan. The Wakhan Corridor has  been  the mainly vital intersection point of the Silk Road since its inception. This corridor has long been used by Europeans and Chinese as a trade path to reach the Indian plains and sea lines of communication in the Indian Ocean via the coasts of the Arabian Sea. At the joint of China, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan lies a small extend of land in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province known as the Wakhan Corridor. Being a passage of the old Silk Road, this corridor is of great historical value. It still has a lot of room for increase in terms of tourism and regional connectivity. Wakhan region is considered relatively peaceful as there is no law-and-order problem.  Construction of  the  road  through  Wakhan  will improve regional trade and business, especially for Pakistan, Central Asia and Afghanistan. It could provide the fastest trade route for China to access Afghanistan and Pakistan for access to Central Asia. In this context, the research explores the possibilities of revitalizing the Wakhan Corridor through the construction of road infrastructure. This paper highlights the economical importance of the Wakhan Corridor in the light of the emerging regional scenario. Both ISIS and the Pakistani Taliban are essential to disrupt the corridor and create security challenges for development. To benefit from future trade improvements along the Wakhan Corridor, the three countries (Pakistan, China and Tajikistan) should focus on the security and political situation.

Combining culture and technology is one solution to digitizing an area's local wisdom. Technology is expected to be an educational medium for the younger generation to know the history and meaning of a historical story. The island of Bali has a lot of the previous history, one of which is about the Puputan Klungkung war. Based on the results of questionnaires to 40 respondents by simple random sampling, 77.5% of respondents did not know the history of the Klungkung puputan and its meaning. To maintain the history of the puputan war, it is necessary to introduce the next generation but keep abreast of technological developments so that the research aims to design a media in the form of a mobile game. This mobile game media was chosen because of its popularity in Indonesian society, both among children to adults, thus creating interest in playing media games. The game design adapts to the scheme of the design pattern by using simple, cultured, and informative concepts. This development resulted in the design of the character of the king of Klungkung and the Dutch army and the layout design of the game Puputan Klungkung.

Public space in the city center is an area that is very prominent in its growth, this is driven by various activities including: trade, entertainment/recreation, culture and government. Emotional attachment to a place or place attachment is important to understand, especially because of its potential role in developing public facilities, special places, and communities that work in those places, and also to anticipate conflicts that arise in the management of a place. The building, which was formerly known as Societeit Soekarame, was built during the Dutch government in the 1930s and was used as a place for the elite of Dutch colonialism to gather. During the war of independence, around 1947- 1948, Societeit Soekarame changed its name to Gedung Juang 45. Along with the times, Gedung Juang 45 was renovated with a concept that had been determined to become a Diorama Museumor an educational gallery entitled "Galeri Pati Mbiyen". This study shows that there are two factors driving place attachment in the Juan 45 Pati Building, namely the historical value attached to the building and the social value of society that grows in conjunction with space utilization activities
